Sapphire barely spoken in weeks with her mother being gone. Her aunt Cat was no help at all. She would often avoid her, leave her all the time, and lash out at her from time to time. Sapphire wasn't stupid, she it was mostly because of losing her sister and the stress of having to go be a sergeant and play leader at the same time. Her paranoia was only getting worse over time by laying out stricter rules, having guards keep watch on everyone's homes, and cruel and unusual punishment if you ever mention Miguel; it was considered that you wish to ally yourself with him or plan a plot against the town. Sapphire just wish her mother would come back soon to fix this.
That evening, Sapphire laid curled on a couch with bear hyde over it. She was staying with Roxanna or her aunt Rockie since Catalina was busy with with her soldiers. It where she spent most of her time at ever since Marisol was taken. But she'd rather be with her rather than a cold, bitter, Catalina any day.
Roxanna was the youngest out of her siblings, she got along with everyone in her family unlike her sisters who hated their mother while growing up. She came across as a loner and the strangest among the town. She never believed in artificial products back then, she always grew her own food and raising animals. She was also one the best known hunters in the area, on hunting trips she would snag the biggest bucks out of her group and even maybe catch the most. She lived in Alaska for a bit before coming back four years before the outbreak. There it was the perfect hunting grounds, she would hunt moose, bucks, and even bears. It all came to an end when this fourteen hundred pound kodiak bear attacked her while gardening one day. She ended up stabbing it through the neck with her dagger she had in her back pocket dying not long after. She was alright having just the bear ripping off her left foot and badly mangled arm. Luckily, she lived to tell the tale, but was unable to hunt again.
Now she lived in a small house where she raised pigs and chickens and grew crops for the supply center. She was useful and didn't just want to be dead weight, but would rather stay home than go to any of the town meetings.
Sapphire sat up when Roxanna came back with a bowl of steaming hot chicken and vegetable soup. She smiled at her with her niece managing to force one. Roxanna put down her soup to take off her bear head, a souvenir that she got after her accident. She grabbed the bowl back sitting beside her beginning to eat. She noticed Sapphire was barely scooping anything from her spoon as she always used wolf down her aunt's soup.
"What's troublin' you," Roxanna asked in concern.
"I'm just not hungry," she murmured softly.
She stroked her hair, "You know not eating will only make you feel worse than how you're feeling now."
"Does talking about it help?" Sapphire asked suddenly looking up at her.
"Um . . . yeah, absolutely," Roxanna did want her to talk about what was going on, but she wasn't the best person to give any advice.
"Really do miss mom," she sighed making Roxanna frown, "but when Moo and the others come back aunt Cat said that she . . . she . . ."
She raised a brow, "What is it?"
". . . She wants to send him away to the people that took mom."
Roxanna blinked not knowing about that big detail. All she knew was training her soldiers and planning a strategy to get Marisol back. She didn't know Catalina would actually give in to Miguel's deal which surprised her since she was the one to put up a fight.
Has she really gone that mad?
"S-she also wants to find miss Tori and kill her for leaving," Sapphire added hesitantly wincing at the thought of losing one of nicest people left in this town.
That Roxanna heard about, Catalina announced her disappearance and declared her as a traitor because of her history with Miguel. She didn't believe for one second Victoria would run to Miguel when things got rough over here. But the question was what was the real reason Victoria left in the first place?
She shook her head, "I get that the boy is monstrous, but just giving him away to a man who's more monstrous himself?"
"Aunt Rockie! That's my friend!" Sapphire protested defensivly.
"I'm sorry, I'm just so wrapped up in that ridiculous plan," she apologized, "it's just the boy is very young and he's already been taken before, I hate for him to have to go through that again."
"That's what everyone says about him," Sapphire mumbled stirring her soup.
"It was wrong for me to say that, I'm still trying to realize that there are reasons that people turn out the way they are," Roxanna winced, "and his reasons are quite . . . tragic unfortunately."
"Aunt Cat should fight for them like she planned to, I don't want him suffer again."
Roxanna wrapped her arms around her niece comforting her. She closed her eyes to let out a heavy sigh.
"Neither do I, gem, I just wish your aunt Cat wasn't the way she was . . ."
Storm opened her tired eyes to the bright morning sun. She looked over and frowned at the sight of Moo still not being in the bed. She yawned getting and stretched her stiff bones. She raised a brow at the sight of not only Moo wasn't here, but Smokey was also gone too. She thought it was unusual because the nights Moo was gone she would still Smokey laying in the bed. She later went to slip on a shirt to go look for the two heading out the door.
Storm wondered why Coyote came back when they were leaving really soon. She probably wanted to see Moo since she hasn't seen him in weeks. Strangely, she was very quiet for someone like her, Storm knew her to be very happy and jumpy around new people. Weird.
As she walked down the hall she stopped on what she thought was Smokey, but it was the group's and the same dog that her sister had with her, Rosie. The pitbull stopped in front of Storm wagging her little tail while she bended her knees slightly petting. She smiled as Rosie began licking her hand getting used to her. Storm looked beside her noticing something very off about the dog. She was getting quite fat in the stomach area, but not all around. She was going to have to ask Ruby anything about if she knew anything about dogs later on.
When she went outside she found almost everyone looking frantic and terrified with coming back from the woods with sorry looks. She furrowed her brows in concern wondering what was wrong. She saw Clementine up to her with the same expression everyone else as she was breathing heavily with her eyes a bit glossy.
"Storm, have you seen Violet at all this morning?" she asked frantically.
"U-uh, n-no, why, what's wrong?" Storm asked worried about her sister's whereabouts.
"She wasn't in her room this morning, neither was Blossom!"
Storm's face turned white, "A-a-are you kidding m-me?!"
Clementine nodded starting to tear up, "All of their stuff was gone and I went outside to see if went out here, but nothing! So I got everyone up to see if they could find any trace of her, and still nothing!"
Storm felt her heart drop to her stomach, she wondered why would Violet leave with Blossom without warning or telling anyone.
Unless . . . someone made her . . .
"Is Moo out there with the search party, I bet he's worried to death."
"I haven't seen him at all this morning either, he's not in your room?"
She blinked knowing Moo would be the first one to jump in to the cause of looking for Violet.
"A-are you sure you didn't see him anywhere? Because Smokey wasn't in the room either."
"I'm very positive, I—"
"Clem!" Willy's voice called as she immediately ran up to him to see what the news was.
"What did you find?"
"Well you know how there's three carts the others came in, right?" Clem nodded, "while we were looking for Vi we noticed there's only two now, could that mean anything?"
Clem froze for minutes to the point where Storm had to tap her to see if she was alright. She quickly grabbed Storm's arms her eyes filled with horror and fury.
"Listen to me, Storm," she said dangerously low, "would Moo take off with Violet against her will?"
Her eyes went round, "He would never . . ." then she thought how much he liked Vi, she knew his darker side she was so terrified of. But he's changed he would never kidnap Violet and Blossom.
Right . . .?
"Storm?" Clem shook her slightly bringing her from her thoughts, "Would he do this?"
She rapidly shook her head, "No! He fucking wouldn't!"
"Please be honest, Storm!" she cried desperately, "you don't have to lie to me."
She paused looking down refusing to tell her the truth, "He wouldn't . . ."
"Put two and two together, Violet and Blossom are missing, Moo's missing, and the cart's missing. I doubt Violet even knows how to work any of those things and Moo knows how to drive."
Storm still stayed quiet.
Before Clem could keep reasoning with her somebody touched her shoulder as Clem whipped her head around to see who it was. Storm looked up to see it was Coyote. She noticed she wore the same look she had yesterday.
"I'm I didn't tell you guys this sooner," she mewed, "I might know why they left."
Clem stared at her invested for the reason as Storm looked the same way.
"Storm, your mother's been taken . . ."
She froze as her heart almost stopped, "What?"
"She's been taken by Miguel and the only way to get her back is if Moo goes with him."
"Coyote . . . I . . ."
"I'm not done," she stopped before she could say anything, "Victoria left to go try and get her back and Cobra went with her, but . . . I don't think he would let them go that easy . . ."
Storm looked away as if was she was about to have a panic attack. The fact that Moo probably went to go sacrifice himself in order to get her mother shattered her heart. She would never in life give him up to a man so vile and cruel. Moo has been through so much shit to where Storm never thought he would ever from so much pain, if he went to Miguel he would most likely have tho suffer the pain all over again.
She realized Violet might of went because she bare to see him go.
Storm couldn't let him go . . . she wouldn't, even if it was her mother.
She would find another way to get them back. Miguel may be smart, but Storm was smarter.
Storm shook her head turning away rushing back to the dorms as Clem looked at her with concern.
"What are you guys going to do?"
She turned to her, "we're going to track him down before it's too late."
Later on, Storm spent most of her packing her things and just sat on the bed thinking. She was kinda going being here with the new people she got along with. But she missed being at her apartment more and all the the others back home, she had responsibilities and the fact she might have to go into a whole war to get her mother back.
As she was packing her things she looked and saw Sophie walk in with her stuff on her back. She gave her small smile while Storm returned with forced lopsided grin.
"How are you holding up?" she asked walking up to the brunette.
She sighed, "I just can't believe he would do it, he's willing to give up his life to our families."
"There's more to Moo than meets the eye, under all that ice he's really warm."
Storm's face hardened, "But I won't let him go through that again, we won't have to give him up we can still fight."
Sophie nodded, "I'd to let him go like that, he's super young to be going through so much hell. I agree we fight too."
"I just hope mom makes it through when we retaliate . . ." she sighed looking down.
Sophie shyly stepped closed spreading her arms as Storm looked at her in confusion.
"Do you . . . wanna hug?" she smirked sheepishly while Storm snorted.
She smiled, "If it's you I guess."
They both wrapped their arms around each hugging tightly. Sophie rested her head on Storm's as she closed her eyes inhaling Storm's cherry scented hair. She kept inhaling get lost in the smell and Storm's warm embrace.
"You smell nice . . ." she accidentally said.
"Huh?"
Sophie widened her quickly backing away, "Oh n-nothing!!"
She stood with her face completely red while Storm raised a brow, "Soph, are you good?"
"Y-yeah, yeah, ya know I'm just gonna shut up and wait with Izzy outside, okay, bye!"
She quickly walked out the room saying nothing while Storm looked back her wondering what her deal was.
—
Izzy hugged her brother tightly while he returned another one. She really wished she could stay with her brother's family, but like everyone else she was needed back at home to take care of business.
"I'm really gonna miss you guys," she hugged tighter.
"Can't you stay longer?" he whined, "you really don't have to go."
"Have to, Louie, I got responsibilities I need to take care of and deal with this whole mess."
They both pulled away with Louis having an upset look, "Will I see you again soon?"
She smiled, "That's stupid question, of course you'll see more of me now that I've found you, and those babies will see more of their aunt."
He grinned wrapping his arms around her again before they pulled away Izzy giving him a kiss on the cheek and then got in her cart.
"Make sure you guys bring back Violet and Blossom safely, I'm really worried about them especially if you guys have a whole battle."
"Don't worry, Louie, we'll bring them back before any bullshit starts."
He smiled in relief, "Thank you."
Izzy looked up seeing Sophie come out with her bags as Coyote followed along. Sophie stopped to give Louis a hug.
"It was really great seeing you guys again, I really hope I get to see more of you."
He chuckled, "You too, Soph, don't disappear on us again."
"I promise you I won't," they both pulled away but as Louis started to walk away Sophie grabbed hand, "consider yourself a lucky man," she said quietly before going over to Izzy.
Storm was the last to come out the gates with Clem following behind her. She stopped while Storm and Coyote went to start up their carts.
"Thank you guys so much," Clem spoke graciously, "you've helped us so much, is there anything we can repay you?"
Storm shook her head, "Nothing, unless you guys let us help out more like this."
She happily shook her head, "Absolutely, we're even willing to trade at this point."
"No need," Storm smiled.
"If need any help we'll be willing to pitch in if it comes to that . . ."
Storm nodded, "Thanks, we'll bring those two as soon as possible."
Clem sighed in relief, "Please do, I don't want her getting hurt again."
"Can do."
Storm cranked up the cart followed by Coyote cranking up hers. Coyote had already began pulling out as Storm slowly backed up as Sophie and Izzy waved back to Clem and Louis.
Before Storm headed off she had forgotten about one thing she meant to tell to them.
"Hey Clem," Storm called getting her attention as she was about to go back to the school.
"What is it?"
"You might wanna tell Ruby about Rosie, she getting a little fat in the middle."
At that Storm officially headed out leaving Clem standing there looking confused about that the weird statement.
