Violet fluttered her eyes open sluggishly waking up to a sharp pain in her wrapped up shoulder. As she woke up she heard a faint voice from outside her room yelling "Matéo, Matéo, come back!"
Moo . . .
She winced at the blurry sight of the big bloodstain on the bandage and hissed as she tried to sit up on her pillow. She then touched herself and blushed brightly as she also realized she just had on her shorts; only her shorts. She reached out for the blanket as she tried to cover her chest if anyone walked in to check on her.
But it was long too late for that.
She jumped when Victoria run back into the room out of breath. She frantically ran over to the blonde's bed gently laying her back down.
"No, no, don't move too much," she said as Violet winced, "just relax, you're safe now."
It took her a moment to realize that she was back in Charlottesville and ended up not going to that paradise she saw. But she had no knowledge where she was in town.
"Where am I? Is this a medical center?"
Victoria nodded, "You're parents and sister are all sitting in the waiting room for news, you want me to bring them in right now or wait?"
"Does any of them have Blossom with them?"
She raised a brow, "Blossom?"
"She's my . . . daughter," she hesitated to forget about her and her parents had no knowledge of Blossom.
To her fear, Victoria blinked parting her lips as if she was about to ask a million questions. But instead, she cleared her throat smiling nervously.
"I see, you know where she could be?"
Violet frowned and shrugged, "The last place I left her was in Moo's apartment, she most likely isn't in there now so I have no idea where my baby is. I think the best person who would have a good idea where she is Ashley."
"Don't worry, don't worry, I'll do all I can to see to it," Victoria reassured her squeezing the blonde's hand, "what does she look like?"
"She's small, has green eyes, dark long hair, and has this little pin I made for her when she was born," she smiled recalling the pin, "it's a small pink blossom and I put it on every shirt she wears."
Victoria nodded, "I will very much do so."
"Please, I really wanna see her."
She nodded again before kissing the blonde on the forehead heading out the door.
"Miss Tori," Violet called out making Victoria stop abruptly, "I'm really glad you're okay."
She smiled softly at her, "That makes both of us, mija."
When she walked out Violet sighed sadly that she couldn't just get up and find her daughter herself. She missed her every day since she's been away from her, she never wanted to be separated from her again it just hurt her too much.
She most likely feels the same.
She then thought about Moo thinking he would be the first person to be there when she woke up, he was the one to save her life after all. She didn't know why he wasn't there of all people or why would he leave.
Does he think I'm not good enough now . . . ?
The thought made her ill to her stomach just thinking about it. Tears started to run down her cheeks thinking of all the possible reasons why he wasn't there with her right now.
One of the reasons brought her pain to her heart when she thought about it.
She wanted to see him; she had to see him.
The first thing she wanted to do was to wake up and see his face, give him the tightest hug despite her condition, kiss him nonstop, and tell him that she never stopped loving him. But she didn't know if could even do that if he never shows up.
All she could do was bury herself under the covers, hugging her pillow tightly, and just waited to see what would happen next.
When Victoria walked into the waiting room she saw Violet's parents right beside her sister holding Sophie beside her while Coyote also comforted the two and a young couple she didn't recognize holding each other. It almost crushed Victoria to see Coyote still having no knowledge of what happened to her mother, she was still that upbeat caring girl.
I don't want to ruin that.
She stepped in leisurely into the waiting room with her hands behind her back then shyly cleared her throat which instantly caught their attention, especially Marisol.
Before Victoria could open her mouth Marisol spoke first.
"How is she? Is she alright?" she asked frantically while Lucas tried to calm her.
"Well she lost a lot of blood when she got here but we managed and now her wound is all stitched up," Victoria informed her, "she's just waking up but I don't know if—"
At that, Marisol sprung from Lucas's arms instantly sprinting to the room Violet was in. Lucas sighed getting up and following after her ignoring what else Victoria had to say. Victoria groaned in frustration but didn't blame the two for wanting to see their daughter.
She turned to Storm, Sophie, and Coyote who all had ecstatic expressions when they heard about Violet.
"Violet's alright?" Sophie breathed, her teary green eyes lighting up.
Victoria nodded, "Yes, she's talking and everything but she can't move much for the wound not to reopen."
Storm sighed in relief smiling up at Victoria, "Thank you two so much, I owe you everything."
As she chuckled at her response, Victoria almost forgot about Blossom and see if her sister knew anything.
"Hey, mija, I meant to ask you about your hermana's baby, you have any idea where she is?"
It took a minute for Storm to understand what she was talking about since she didn't speak Spanish until Coyote whispered something in her ear and then immediately knew who she was talking about.
"Oh! Violet's daughter, Blossom, right?" she said while Victoria nodded, "the last place we left her was with Aunt Roxie, she's most likely still there if you want me and Sophe to run and go get her."
"Sí, sí, that'll be great, thank you so much."
"No problem."
Before going into the room Marisol took long deep breaths with Lucas standing nervously beside her. She almost forgot about Lucas never saw her when she came back and had to see his daughter in this state.
She sighed, I'm so fucking selfish.
When she touched the knob Lucas's voice stopped her from opening it.
"Mary . . . what does she like . . . ?" he asked hesitantly.
"Like what looks like when she got here," she prayed for him not to ask that.
Luckily, he shook his head, "No, hun', I mean . . . what does she look like now?"
She began to smile thoughtfully, "For starters, she's a woman now."
"God, I can't imagine."
"She's thin like you," she looked down and sighed, "in fact, she looks just like you, has your skin, hair, faces; everything, but she's very beautiful."
He chuckled, "Can't imagine that either," then he narrowed his eyes at her, "any partners we should worry 'bout?"
"Thankfully, not as I know of."
"That's good," he sighed in relief, "for a second there I thought you were gonna say she had one."
Before she could push the door open she turned to him and frowned.
"Just stay right here for a bit," she said not knowing how the blonde would react when seeing her father again.
Surprisingly, he just nodded with his shoulders slumping a bit, "I get it, get me when you're ready."
She slowly began to open the door peaking inside to find Violet laying in the bed with her back turned to her. Marisol felt her heartbeat again when she saw Violet shuffling a bit to get comfortable but still not noticing her mother was there.
Marisol then acted on impulse rather than thinking when she spoke to get Violet's attention.
"Violet?" she chirped making the blonde immediately turn to her.
Violet sniffled wiping away some of her tears before smiling back weakly at Marisol.
"Hey mom," she said weakly.
It was enough for Marisol to sprint over to the bed then touched Violet's bony cheek beginning to drown her face in kisses.
"You made it, you made it, baby!" she kissing her then took her into her arms sobbing on the blonde's shoulder.
She hesitantly hugged her back, "I guess I did."
Marisol pulled away looking at her in concern while wiping away some of Violet's tears, "Oh, baby, what's the matter?"
She sniffled not wanting to tell her about Moo.
"Nothing," she lied giving her a fake but convincing smile, "I'm just glad you made it, that's all and the others."
Marisol gently stroked her daughter's hair, "Well, we have nothing to worry about now, all the chaotic bullshit is over, we're safe."
Thank God.
She then saw her mother give her an uneasy look cocking her head at her expression, she didn't why all of a sudden why she probably felt a bit uncomfortable after her huge concern about her welfare. But she remained quiet seeing what she had to say for the time being.
"Um . . . I have someone else who wants to see you," she informed nervously making Violet raise a brow.
"Oh? who?"
She pursed her lips, "Well, uh, he's been around for as long as I have—well a year-long actually, he wasn't . . . the greatest of all people but he still really loves you."
"Mom, please," Violet rolled her eyes impatiently, "it's okay, you can tell me."
She frowned regretfully and sighed, "I just don't wanna see you hurt, that's all," she got up and walked over to the door resting her hand, "Just . . . if you want him to leave just tell me, alright?"
Violet just kept staring at her in confusion.
Who the hell is she talking about?
Before she could ask more questions Marisol went ahead and opened the door for Lucas. She first squinted to see who it was then her eyes went round when soon recognized who the man was.
One of the causes of her suffering was actually alive right before her eyes.
She wanted to scream at him, throw anything she could find, she wanted to hurt him the same way he hurt her.
But, for some reason . . . she couldn't.
She stared at him for a bit seeing just how hurt he is, the same mournful look her mother had when she first saw her again. Honestly, she thought it was the last thing she would see in him if he ever saw him again, the only emotions she saw in him were just drunkness and anger.
It was so rare to see him like this.
One of the only types of sympathy she saw in him was him not wanting her to be sent away which was the last thing she would think he ever wanted.
Marisol's eyes watched his every movement when he started walking towards Violet'd bed with a soft grin and teary eyes.
"Hey there, flower," he spoke softly, "ya still probably hate mu' guts right now, but I had to come and see ya."
That was true and not true at the same time.
He gently sat at the foot of her bed as the two remained their eyes locked on each other's with Violet remaining silent for the time being.
She didn't know what to think of this man now. She's known him to be an angry, abusive, drunk man who had no interest in her or her mother whatsoever.
But then she realized he wasn't like that for no reason.
Storm . . .
She saw that when he lost her he didn't want to go through the same pain with Violet. But unfortunately, his worst fears became true after the outbreak.
He thought he had lost two of his daughters.
Her hand didn't pull away when he touched it but remained frozen like her whole body. Marisol became scared of what the blonde might do considering her strange reaction.
But then her jaw dropped went into his arms as he wasted no time to tightly hug her back.
He chuckled softly, "I love ya, flower," he kissed her on the forehead.
She didn't say anything but remained silent resting on his chest. She soon felt her mother joining in on the hug as they all remained in there in silence in each other's arms.
They were finally together again.
—
Moo's head kept spinning at the thought of Violet with him barely thinking straight while he drove. He wasn't ready to see her, to face so much guilt if her face.
Tears started to flood in his eyes at even the thought of her name. He didn't know why he felt worse after leaving that hospital, his heart had felt like it had shattered into pieces that were smashed even more to dust.
He didn't want to hurt again even if it had to resort to not letting her see him.
As he started to sob he jumped to the crackle of thunder then look over to the dark clouded sky. He sighed knowing he had to find shelter soon but he didn't want to his apartment yet knowing what he's capable of doing to himself.
And that's when decided to go see his newly discovered twin sister, Raven.
It felt good talking to her father again, something she hasn't felt around him in a while. Of course, her mother stayed and watched the two making sure nothing went wrong but as she did, she couldn't but feel a twinge of jealousy watching the two laugh and talk. When first meeting her again all she received was harsh words and rejection while Lucas got a light-hearted hug from their daughter.
It's whatever I guess, she thought annoyingly.
"So ya mean to tell me you were their leader?"
Violet chuckled and nodded, "Yeah, but I wasn't as good as the second one."
Lucas scoffed, "Doubt it, you've always been the responsible one," he then looked at the door then back at her, "those folks from the school?"
"Folks? What folks?" she asked questioningly.
"There were some folks askin' if they could see ya, from the school I reckon."
She instantly turned to Marisol who's expression was wide-eyed almost forgetting about the two kids that wanted to see Violet.
"Mom, who is talking about?"
She gave a sheepish grin, "Sorry, hun' forgot to tell you that there was some people from your school that wanted see you when you woke up."
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?!" she spat, "I don't wanna keep them out there worrying about me to death!"
"I didn't want too much commotion over you right now!" her mother cried back then she sighed, "but if you wanna see them right now that's fine by me."
"Good, because I do."
It wasn't the answer that Marisol expected nor wanted but got up anyway walking to the door.
She jumped back when it instantly burst open greeted Sophie who ran past Marisol making her way to Violet's bed, the two kids from the school, and Storm who had baby in her arms she didn't recognize. Before Marisol could stop anyone else the also ran to Violet who gasped ecstatically wrapping their arms around her leaving her and Storm to themselves.
"Glad to see she's doing well," Storm laughed looking over to her sister's bed.
Marisol couldn't help but rest her eyes on the baby that Storm had, "Stormy, who's child is that?"
Storm's heart dropped forgetting her parents had no knowledge of Blossom, "Oh! Um, she's, uh, well she's . . ."
"Mama! Mama!" Blossom cried happily at the sight of Violet.
Violet couldn't help but reach her arms out for her despite their distance witg Storm having to rush over to her sister putting Blossom in her arms. She clinged onto her mother for dear life while Violet couldn't contain herself kissing her nonstop.
"Oh, Blossie, I missed you so much," she breathed holding her closer."
There were minutes of silence before Violet heard Marisol cleared her throat getting the blonde's attention. She saw that both her parents' faces were sickingly white wearing apalled expressions. She turned to Storm who looked embarrassingly afraid this would be how they reacted.
Violet lips slowly curled into sheepish smile as as her parents' eyes kept burning onto her and Blossom.
"So . . ." she started chuckling softly, ". . . meant to tell you I have a daughter."
Moo stood on the doorstep of his sister's house shakily waiting for someone to come. He had rung the doorbell four times but still, nobody showed up. Even though this was a huge house and all Moo didn't know why it took this long.
But a few minutes later he jumped back hearing the doorknob jiggle around before the door swung open greeted by Raven with an annoyed expression with a rolled-up joint clenched in her teeth. Her eyes instantly shot up at the sight of Moo snatching the joint out of her mouth tossing it aside.
"Oh Moo, thank God!" she cried happily leaping into his arms, "after they pulled me away from there I had no idea if you even alive or not."
"Well I am," he reassured, "and everyone's home and safe."
A few seconds later Moo heard large paws and barking nearing closer before he saw Smokey bolt out the door leaping onto Moo.
"Hey, bud," he chuckled softly as the wolf constantly licked his face, "so good to see you again."
"Roxanna asked me if I could watch him since he was scaring her chickens and you know how much my mom loves dogs."
He looked over and gave her a kind smile, "Well, I'm glad you did."
"So come in, come in! Mamá really wanna see you."
Raven then pulled her brother into the house ready to hear the whole story at Miguel's.
"So, he's pretty much dead, eh?" Raven asked from in the kitchen getting Moo a drink.
He nodded stiffly with a hint of guilt in his eyes, "Pretty much."
She rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Good riddance, we won't have to deal with that son of a bitch anymore."
Moo just nodded again.
"So," she started bringing over a mug of hot tea, "how's you're girl candy? You snapped her like a twig yet?" there was a hint of jealousy in her tone.
The comment made Moo's eyes round still getting nauseas on what he done to her.
He didn't want to mention that but he did want to mention on the relationship they were having.
Or had . . .
"N-no!" he blurted unintentionally, "it's not like that and you know it."
Raven scoffed inhaling a blunt before blowing out the smoke, "Like hell I do, you were practically drooling over her the last time I saw you with her and then you leave with her for almost a month, special privilege if you ask me."
"That doesn't mean she would just give up with just the drop of a hat," he growled defensively.
"I know those other whores do when you just look their way, you treat this girl like a queen compared to them."
He looked down to his mug narrowing his eyes, "she's not them, she's long away from that."
She raised a brow at that, "Oh? So you two are just stayin' friends? Meh, Vi seemed like that type anyway."
"It's not that either. . ." he murmured taking a sip of his tea while shaking his leg, "We're together," Moo said confidently as if their relationship was one of his greatest achievements, "but it's not the one you're thinking of."
Raven snorted, "You? In a relationship? Like boyfriend and girlfriend relationship?"
"Yeah, what's so damn funny?"
"Oh nothing, it's just I never took you to be the romantic, lovey dovey type," she laughed making Moo roll his eyes, "if you two are 'together' where is she then?"
He squeezed his eyes shut knowing this was hard to say, "She's . . . she's in the hospital recovering from a stab wound."
Raven's smile instantly fell, "Holy shit . . . what happened?"
He sighed heavily, "When we were escaping the mansion we were attacked by Miguel, mainly me. He almost killed me when . . . when Vi . . . saved me."
"Really? I'ma gonna have to thank her later."
"Then he caught her on her blind side and stabbed her in the back," his voice cracked with tears threatening to spill.
She frowned touching his hand, "Is she . . . ?"
"No," he stopped before she could say anymore, "she bled a lot but I was able to stitch her wound before it was too late."
"How is she now?"
This was where the story ended, he had ran out of that room without looking back. He couldn't confirm whether she actually woke up or not, or even if she was fine.
"I . . . I don't know," he admitted sadly.
Raven furrowed her brows in confusion, "What? What the hell do you mean?"
"I don't know, Raven!" he spat unintentionally making Smokey wince, "I got outta there before she could see the beast that I am!"
"You're doin' it again, Moo! This insane talk!" she yelled frightened at his tone, "the more important thing I should is ask what did you do?"
Moo put his hands over his face bursting into tears as the guilt inside started to drown him.
"I ran away, Raven," he sobbed, "I couldn't let her see me."
"Why is that, bro?"
"She got hurt because of me, I hurt her. I can't keep letting her get hurt because of me."
Raven was flabbergasted at the state of her brother. She had never seen this side of him before about any girls he met up with. Usually he didn't care about them or what they think, he just slept with them and went on about his day. Now ever since Violet came back into his life she was seeing a side of him she never saw before.
The guilty tears, the defensive remarks made about her, the longing to be there where ever she went. This wasn't no average fling, Raven saw that Moo actually had feelings for this girl, something she never thought he would actually do.
He sniffled wiping away some of tears then looked up at Raven with his glossy eye meeting hers with much desperation and sorrow.
"I . . . I found out that . . . that I'm in love with her, Raven," he admitted making her even more appalled than she already was.
In love?? Did he actually say IN LOVE?!!
She didn't know if her ears were deceiving her or not, but she did know that his long lost best friend had melted away the ice in his heart that was frozen for a long time. Though she hated seeing him like this but, deep down, she was screaming with joy that Moo finally had a person to make him whole again.
As she parted her lips about to speak he continued on.
"I know most of you guys don't expect me to feel this way," he rasped, "honestly, I thought the same thing. The thing being with Vi again . . . she showed me how good it was to be in a relationship again. I tried my damnedest to not get attached like this again but with her back in my life it was too impossible, especially when we felt the same way for each other."
Raven looked down and nodded, "I can see, you really do care about this girl, don't you?"
"More than anything."
She then snatched his shoulder pushing him up to face him. He furrowed his brows when she glared at him intensely while slightly squeezing his shoulder, the look honestly scared him a bit seeing a little of Miguel in her face.
"Then why the hell are you here then?"
He blinked taken a back at the harsh question, "What?"
"You came here when you're girl's in that hospital wondering where the fuck her savior is."
"Raven, I—"
"No! Don't give me that bullshit that you don't that if she's awake, why else would you run away from her? If you love this girl why would you run from her?"
He hesitated not knowing what to think of that then instantly realized why.
"I don't know what she'll think of me now," he argued causing his sister to raise a brow, "if I see her and she rejects me, what then? I can't bare to relive that again."
"Well screw her then, sorry I have to say that but you have no choice if she does. She may have saved your life but you saved hers also, you appreciated it so I see no reason why she wouldn't do the same, and if she doesn't, I hate to say it, but she wasn't right one for you, dude."
Moo didn't know what to think of this now, his eyes were finally opening on what his sister was saying. Why would Violet, all of sudden, leave him just like that? He too afraid to think even think logically at the situation, they had saved each other from near death; it was sign.
"I just . . . I just don't wanna get hurt again," he sniffled looking at her with teary eyes as she rubbed his back softly.
"I understand," she cooed, "you told me all kinds of messed up shit during your abduction, including you're heart being broken, but if you don't see her how will you ever know?"
"I won't," he murmured.
She leaned onto his arm and sighed, "All I'm saying don't start jumping into conclusions because of old demons, you gotta give the future a chance, and like my mom would say, 'cloudy days will eventually become brighter ones."
He looked over giving Raven a half smirk, "There you go again, being right."
"As always," she chuckle as he playfully shoved her arm.
As they sat there Raven hopped up off the sofa while Moo looked at her in confusion.
"Welp, we can't sit around forever," Raven chirped grabbing Moo's hand, "we're heading out."
"W-what? Already?" he asked nervously his face turning white, "w-w-what if–"
Raven rolled her eyes, "Dude, don't start this shit again, we're going to see her so won't freak out again."
"You sure? You don't have to."
"It's fine, really," she smiled reassuringly, "I'm with you all the way."
He smiled back rising up from the couch, "Thanks."
The two headed towards the front door with Moo whistling for Smokey and Raven calling out to Carolina letting her know that they were off.
"Be back soon, mija!" she cried back, "I love you!"
"Love you too, mom!"
The two soon made it out with Moo confronting his fears finally heading back to the hospital.
