Stepping out of the museum I was pretty quick to grab Blue's Pokeball and let him out, feeling bad for having the guy be stuck in there for so long. "Sorry man, they have rules in there. You good?" The shiny Pokemon just stretched out on the sidewalk for a moment and shook himself out a little, giving his fur some fluff before standing up again. He looked at me and just gave a nod with a smile, letting out a pretty content sounding purr. "Awesome. Hey, Dallas? You mind if we put that collar back on Blue or you want someone else to wear it for now?"
Dallas took out the collar and looked at it for a moment, cocking his head a little bit. "I mean, if he wants it? He has sort of been the control group right now so I guess that can work." He kneeled down a little to clip the collar on again, flipping it back on. "Alright, Blue, is everything going well?"
Blue reached up and scratched at the collar for a moment, giving a small nod. "Still a little itchy, but I think everything's fine. Sorry again about messing with you about it before. Thought it would be funny at the time."
"Oh, yeah, it's cool." Dallas stood back up. "Honestly I'm kinda just happy to know now that it works without an issue! Now, I did sort of half ass some of the finer points in the collar, so as soon as I can get it right? You can bet we're getting more of those collars! Oh! I need more materials in that case!"
I come over and give Dallas a pat on the back. "And those materials we will get! I uh… assume in Castelia City? Big city, it would probably have everything needed for that."
I can only assume that struck a bad chord with Vincent, because he instantly threw himself into the conversation with an exasperated look. "Hey, now! We don't need to go to Castelia for all that!" He took a breath before speaking a little slower. "I, uh, think we could get all that stuff in Virbank, yeah? I mean, you said it has a factory or something, they should have a decent mechanical economy down there probably! We'll be good just scooting past that big old pollution center of a town."
For a guy who wants to do some acting side quest, Vince isn't that good under pressure it looks like. Something about Castelia really threw the guy off. It was long before I was able to properly suss it out… and for the others, as Candice was the first to spout it out. "Vision has their main base in Castelia, don't they?"
Vincent didn't even try to hide, just looking down a bit almost as if upset at how bad his performance was. "It's the old Plasma building, right across what used to be the Gym. And the thing is, it isn't just their main base, it is their main base on the entire planet!"
"Oh shit."
"Oh shit indeed," Vince agreed with a nod. "That is why I am greatly wanting to completely avoid Castelia as much as possible. They try to keep a semi-low profile on their no so good activities, but they do pay attention when people come in and out of the city."
I just gave a little shrug trying to wrap my head around the situation. "And? I mean, I'm sure we can slip you in or past them. Especially since, like, I can only assume you still have your Vision outfit, yeah?" I nod towards his bag. "Slip that on, put those acting chops to use, and stroll on by like nothing! Grab up some ice cream, new clothes, nab me a Gym Badge, then grab the first boat heading to Virbank. Honestly, it sounds like a chill weekend to me!"
There was a moment of quiet before Blue's collar let out his thoughts again. "You really like making things sound easier than they probably will be, don't you?"
"It's the best way for me to move forward in any of my endeavors! Honestly one of the only ways." That was a little bit of a lie, but I'll keep with it for now. "But really, it's a stable plan! They'll think Vince is just vibing with some random civilians, maybe we put on a face of showing interest in their stuff, sneak right on past and hang out in the big ol city!"
I was feeling a bit proud of my thoughts on the plan, although looking at Vincent did show I was probably getting in over my head with that thought alone. He just looked at me before giving a small shrug with a mild frown. "It sounds like a good idea on paper, but I still think I'd be too focused on everything else going on around to pull my best, y'know?"
"Oh, alright then. Well, I'm sure we can just doll you up a little and disguise you."
Candice and Dallas chuckled a little bit, the latter of the two chiming in. "Don't need to doll him up too much if that's what you're actually planning." He swung his bag around his shoulder and unzipped it, pulling out a cap and tossing up to the ex-grunt. "Here, obstructing some of the more prominent distinguishing features like hair and eyes can actually really help hiding your identity to others who are unaware of the disguise."
"Sounds like a lot of movie tomfoolery if you ask me, but I guess any help is good help. If that's the case…" I pulled around my own pack and reached into it, grabbing something for Vince as well. A simple pair of sunglasses! "Might as well get the eyes too while we're at it." I tossed it over to him.
Now paired with the hat and shades, Vincent put them on and gave one hell of a power pose to show himself off with them. "Alright, be honest, what do you think? Do I look like a crazy criminal now?" He laughed as he straightened up again, reaching up and gripping the hat brim. "Nah, but seriously guys, this is awesome. Being with a full on proper way of hiding in a pretty bad red zone for me? Hell yeah!"
"If you want," Blue said, stepping up towards Vince, "And, y'know, don't mind a little extra pain, these claws are pretty sharp." He held up his hands and stretched out his absolute swords of claws. This was very clearly to insinuate something a bit not too good. "One quick swipe here and there, you're gonna have a few new distinguishing features to really throw people off." We all look at the Zangoose for a moment in just complete silence at his offer. Before there was any sense of reaction, out of my bag came the energy of Jazz, with her popping right between use and Blue. She barked a few times at Blue before the latter let out a huff, looking back to us and motioning at Jazz. "Or we can dirty up your hair with a Sand Attack to make you look more dirty blond."
