Trigger warning

Oliver tried to get Barry to eat some fries. He didn't know what Eddie said to him but he could see it messed with him more than he thought.

Barry sat in front of him just staring into the bowl of fries he bought for him. Oliver tried talking to him, trying to distract him from the food hoping that might help him eat. It didn't. But it did distract him from the thoughts he was having.

He smiled. A real smile. The first one he'd seen in a while. He was sure he'd seen it since he first became flash. But he couldn't remember. His smile slowly faded and his eyes went to looking outside.

"We're about to close, I'm sorry but your both going to have to leave," a woman said softly, Oliver knew she had probably seen how Barry was.

"Okay thanks," he said giving her a smile.

"Do you want a takeaway box for the fries?"

"Barry?" He said looking at him, from what Oliver could see of Barry's face, he could see his eyes were glazed. Like he wasn't really here. "Barry?"

"Wh..what?" Barry asked, he looked to the girl like he'd only just noticed she was there.

"Do you want a takeaway box for your fries?" Oliver asked softly, he knew he'd never spoken like that before.

"Uhh. N..no I'm not hungry."

Barry took the bottle of water that Oliver bought him as the table was cleared. Oliver stood up, waiting for Barry before making his way out the door.

"So I..guess I should get going," Barry said as they began walking down the street.

"It's late, you should stay here. You can stay at mine or we could stay at the bunker."

"You don't trust me to be alone do you?"

"I just want to make sure your okay."

Oliver knew Thea might be at the apartment but also knew Barry might feel more comfortable there than the bunker.

"Okay I'll stay," Barry sighed as he began walking faster.

"My apartment or..?"

"Yeah that's fine."

As Barry began walking across the bridge Oliver jogged to catch up, he grabbed his hand to slow him down. To keep him with him.

"I'm sorry," Oliver said as Barry stopped walking.

"It's fine. I get it things got..kinda dark," he said as he put his head on Oliver shoulder.

"It's alright," he wrapped his arms around him.

Barry pulled out his arms, he walked over, put his hands on the railing and looked over the bridge. He saw Oliver get closer.

"Barry," his voice shook, he was scared.

Barry didn't know what he was doing. He didn't want to do this, he didn't think he did. He at least didn't want to do it while Oliver was there. He felt tears in his eyes that quickly dripped down his face.

"I wish I hadn't called you that night," Barry said quietly, though he knew Oliver heard due to him getting closer and taking his hand.

"I'm glad you did. Please don't do this Barry."

"I just want it to stop."

Barry's cries were no longer silent, he hated that he was doing this. In front of Oliver. He didn't know why, he was just tired.

"I don't want to be here anymore. I can't do this."

"Yes you can Barry. I know it's hard now but it won't always be. You just need to stay long enough to see that."

"I'm tired," he said quietly, tears still falling.

"I know. But this isn't the way to fix that."

"I just want it to stop, I just want it to stop.." Barry kept saying, getting quieter each time.

Oliver didn't know what to do, how to help and that scared him. Out of all the cars that had drove past he heard one stop and the door open.

He kept ahold of Barry's hand as he looked up to see a police officer walking towards them. It was Quentin Lance.

"Everything okay?" He asked as he stood the other side of Barry.

"I'm fine," Barry sniffed.

"Doesn't look it," he said calmly. Oliver knew he'd done this before. "How about we talk over here?"

He tried to lead Barry away from the railing, onto the edge of the sidewalk. Which worked. He sat Barry down and sat down next to him, Oliver stood back a bit knowing he wasn't going to be able to help.

He saw Barry begin to panic, he saw Quentin look back. Signalling for him to sit the other side. Which he did. He sat down next to Barry and took his hand again.

Barry put his head on Oliver's shoulder causing him to wrap his other arm around him, he put his head on top of Barry's. Oliver knew he was still crying, just quieter. Like he didn't want Quentin to know.

Oliver knew what Lance had to do now. That didn't mean he wasn't going to fight it for Barry when he told them.

"Oliver," he said quietly causing him to look up, Barry's head not moving from his shoulder. "Come on, help him to the car."

As Lance stood up Oliver made sure Barry was okay to get up.

"Are were going to yours?" Barry asked as he stood up.

"No," Lance said while Oliver walked Barry to the car and opening the door for him. "I have to take you to the hospital."

"Wait," Barry said pushing back out of the car. "I don't want to."

"Barry you kno..."

"I can watch him, I'll make sure he's alright after this," Oliver said causing him to sigh and walk back around the car.

"Oliver you know I have to do this. I know Barry does too."

"But he'll be fine I know he will be."

"You can't be sure," he said softly putting a hand softly on his shoulder, still keeping an eye on Barry. "I'm sorry."

"It's fine Ollie," Barry said quietly. "You can't change his mind."

Oliver have him a weak smile as he got in the car. Oliver sat next to him while Lance got in the front.

"Can I stay with him?"

"I'm sure I'll be able to pull a few strings if that's what Barry wants," he said as he began driving.

"I don't want to be alone," Barry said looking to Oliver who saw the panic in his eyes.

"Your not going to be," Oliver said as he slid into the middle seat and wrapped an arm around him. "You're gonna be okay."

Oliver was sitting in the waiting room while a doctor was talking to Barry. Lance was standing at the open door with two other officers.

Once he'd finished talking to them he walked back over to Oliver.

"He's gonna okay Oliver."

"Thank you, I don't know what would've happened if you didn't stop when you did. I uhh..I don't know what I'd do if..."

"Hey," he said putting a hand over his as he sat down next to him. "He is going to be okay and he's getting help now."

He was already getting help.

"What if it doesn't help him?"

"You can't think like that Oliver. Thinking of all the what if's, it'll just..."

"Put me in the same place he was," Oliver finished, no emotion in his voice as he tried to look past the officers into Barry's room.

"Not what I was going to say but..yeah."

"Are they staying here all night?"

"Yeah, I'll be back in the morning I'll be driving him to central city tomorrow. Your allowed to stay the night if you want, but you do need to leave anything he could use to hurt himself either with me or with Barry's things."

"That's alright and thank you. Why are you driving him to central city?"

"They think it's best for him to get this type of care where he lives, where his friends and family live. They think it'll be easier for him."

"Yeah that makes sense. How did you do it?"

"What do you mean?"

"I was there, talking to him for...I don't even know how long and then you show up and..just lead him away from the railing."

"He wouldn't have let me if he was definitely sure he wanted to do that. Thing is Oliver, people in that position don't usually want to die they just want the mental pain, to stop."

"Yeah," he said quietly looking at the ground.

Barry had finished answering the routine questions that he had been asked, the doctor gave him a smile before standing. He could tell it wasn't just a sympathetic one like he'd gotten from everyone else who'd seen him so far.

"I'll let Mr Queen in," she said as she walked between the two security guards at the door.

He put his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands. He let out a shaky breath, he'd never been in this type of situation before. He sat uncomfortably in the hospital gown he was given.

He felt guilty, for putting Oliver through that, the police officer too. That they had to help him.

"Hey," Oliver said softly as he walked in the room.

Barry looked up to see him walking towards the chair next to his bed. "I'm sorry, for..for all that. I don't know why I did it."

"It's okay, I'm just..glad your still here."

Barry tried to gave him a small smile while still holding his arms in a way Oliver wouldn't see.

"Why don't you try and sleep? Tomorrow's gonna be busy."
