Andy woke up feeling nauseous again like she has been for the last few days. She looked over to the alarm clock that sat on top of Robert's nightstand. The time read 5:02 am. She grunted because she knew she would have to go back to the station today and she didn't want to go feeling like this. She had the past weekend off of work and she was excited to have some alone time for once. However, this weekend did not go as planned. Andy was sick the last two days in a row and with Robert away at work, she was forced to take care of herself. She didn't want to feel this way anymore. She was looking forward to coming back to the station. She missed the atmosphere of the station. She missed her friends as well and going out on calls with them. This weekend was supposed to be fun and relaxing but instead it turned out to be a nightmare and she just wanted it to be over. She wanted to feel better but her sickness seemed to be getting worse each morning she woke up.

Andy was still tightly wrapped in Robert's arms when she felt her stomach start to churn. She tried to ignore it so she could enjoy being in his warmth. Being able to wake up next to him everyday was a blessing she did not want to take for granted. She enjoyed snuggling up next to him while he was still asleep just to breath in his familiar scent. She tried to relax as best as she could but her insides did not want to cooperate with her and she could not resist it any longer. Without any hesitation or care that he was still sound asleep next to her, she threw herself from his grasp and ran straight for the bathroom. She barely made it to the toilet in time before she threw up her dinner from last night. She didn't care that her hair was in the way and that it was completely covered in her own vomit. She was just glad to feel some sort of relief. When she finished, she sat on the floor for a few minutes and slowly tried to catch her breath. Andy's throat started to burn badly and she tried to grab a glass of water but she couldn't bring herself to stand up and get it. She also couldn't help but let lose the few tears that started to form in the corners of her eyes.

"What the hell is wrong with me?" she whispered to herself just before another wave hit her.

Her head fell back into the toilet and she was throwing up once again. The tears in Andy's eyes were now streaming down her face. She had no idea why she was vomiting every morning and she was starting to get super worried. Her cries became so loud that she didn't even notice Robert walk into the bathroom behind her. When he found her sitting on the floor covered in her own vomit his heart ached for her. He has never seen her like this before. She looked so...so broken and he didn't know what he could do to help her. He did the only thing he thought was best and so he slowly walked over to her and sat down next to her. She was startled and she jumped as he grabbed her hair to move it out of her face.

"Hey, shh shh. It's just me Andy." Robert started to rub her back and whispered soothing words into her ear.

Andy slowly started to relax under his touch and she leaned back against him. He didn't say anything for a while and neither did she. They didn't need to. She always felt so safe and at ease with him. He was her safe place after all and his presence always seemed to calm her down no matter how mad or upset she was. He knew just what to do and what to say to make her feel at home. After a few minutes, Andy was the first one to speak.

"I'm sorry, Robert" she whispered softly.

"For what?" he asked rather confused.

"I woke you up out of your sleep. You've been working round the clock all weekend long and I ruined your first chance at some decent sleep. I'm so sorry. And our bathroom… look at it. It's a big mess now because of me and I promise to clean it all up." She looked down at her feet and felt embarrassed of the mess she just made. Half of her vomit didn't even make it in the toilet and it ended up on the floor next to her.

" Andy…" he said trying to getting her attention but she wouldn't respond. She wouldn't even look up at him. "Andy…" he tried again but she just sat there and silently cried to herself. He takes her head into his hands and he forces her to look back up at him. "Andy, look it's okay I'm not mad at you. You are way more important to me than my silly sleep schedule. And the bathroom…don't worry about that right now okay? Lets just focus on you and getting your health back." He kissed her forehead and she nodded.

"Lets get you cleaned up, yeah?" he asked as he stood up and reached his hand out for her to take. She grabbed it and he pulled her up from the ground. They were now standing face to face and she looked deep into his beautiful brown eyes.

"Thank you" she said softly.

Andy tried to lean in for a kiss but he stopped her. "Ah ah… I'm not kissing you with that nasty breath." he said laughing. Robert took the glass that was sitting on the counter and filled it with water so she could rinse her mouth. She gladly accepted it and downed the glass in a matter of a few seconds.

"Thirsty much?" he asked. "Shut up, Robert." He laughed again and lead her over to the shower. He started to run the water for her and he made sure that the water temperature was just the way she liked it before he helped her to take her clothes off. Even after 2 years of marriage, she still managed to take his breath away every time she got undressed in front of him.

"I'm going to go make us some breakfast while you shower and rinse out your hair. If you need me just holler."

He kissed her cheek and left the bathroom. She was left alone to her thoughts and her mind was racing like crazy because she had an idea of why she was feeling like this each morning. Her period was over a week late and the morning sickness was a clear sign that she may be…no, she didn't want that reason to be true, not yet at least. She was not ready for her life to change in that way and she was worried about what Robert would think. Would he be mad and upset? Would he be happy? Would he be scared? She knew she should take a test to confirm her theory but she didn't want him to catch her taking it. She shook of the feeling and stepped into the warm shower. The water felt amazing on her skin and she felt at ease. She let the water run on her body for a few minutes before she worked the vomit out of her hair. She decided to used the strawberry scented shampoo that she owned because that was Robert's favorite. He always grabbed her and pulled her close to smell her hair when she used that shampoo and it made her smile every time he did that.

When she was finished washing up and stepped out of the shower, she noticed that Robert left a pair of her clothes sitting on the bathroom counter. He chose a pair of black leggings and a simple red tank top for her to wear and she couldn't help but smile at the simple gesture. She quickly changed into the outfit, threw her hair up in a towel to dry and headed downstairs. As she neared the end of the steps the scent of freshly cooked bacon and pancakes filled the air and she immediately realized how hungry she was. She rounded the corner to the kitchen and her heart melted. He had set up two seats at the table with her favorite flowers in the middle and soft music was playing in the background. She looked over to him and his back was facing her as he was busy cooking up a storm. She noticed how his sleeves were rolled up, a towel was draped over his shoulder, and that he had beads of sweat falling off the back of his head. Andy quietly tip toed over to him and wrapped her arms around his muscular body.

"Hey" she whispered quietly. He turned around to face her and she stood on her tip toes to give him a quick kiss on the lips. That's something he absolutely loved about her. He loved how she was so short and tiny compared to him and how she had to stand on her tip toes to kiss him. Even when she was on her tip toes, he still had to bend his down to meet her half way. It made him smile and feel as if he could easily protect her from any harm that came her way. He also loved how he could rest his head perfectly on top of hers and just hold her so close. It was moments like these that reminded him of why he married her.

"Feeling any better?" he asked after a few moments.

"A little bit" she replied. "Robert, this food smells amazing. You made all of this for me?"

"Of course I did. We haven't had a nice breakfast like this at home in along time and I am not just gonna let you starve." She thought about it and he was right. Most days they eat breakfast with the rest of the team in the beanery and they hardly get any alone time to themselves. She liked when he went out of his way to cook for her. He didn't do it often but when he did, he made sure to go all out for her. He walked over to the table and pulled out her chair for her so she could sit down.

"Such a gentleman", she said flirtatiously. He smiled and he kissed her head as she sat down. He walked back over to the kitchen to grab the bacon, eggs, and pancakes he had mad just moments earlier and he made up a plate for each of them. He placed three pancakes and two slices of bacon on each plate and a spoon full of eggs as well. He drizzled her favorite maple syrup on top of her pancakes and placed blueberries on top of his. He walked back over to her and set her plate down in front of her and then he sat down himself.

"Enjoy", he said. She quickly picked up her fork and started to eat the delicious meal her husband had made for her. This right here, this moment in time, this was her safe place and it was with him.
