Chapter Nine
The first week after Jasmine's birth went by fast. Constant diaper changes, bottle feedings, and waking up in the middle of night kept us busy. Was strange how normal everything felt. Like this situation wasn't the fucked up one, it actually was.
But in the back of mind, I started to think about escaping. I noticed a window in the back of the apartment. Unlike the front door this window wasn't guarded. If I cold break it open,I could escape with my daughter while he was asleep. Would I be able to actually do this?
"I have gotten us a bigger place," Philip whispered in my ear interrupting my thoughts. His arms lingered around me, his hands going whenever he wanted on my body.
I was his. He wanted me to know it. Like there was any question after the last nine months.
"The apartment is fine. Just enough room for the three of us,"I objected for no apparent reason.
Why did it matter where I was held prisoner? I wouldn't be free wherever he put me. I guess I was holding on to the hope of escaping. I knew this apartment like the back of my hand now.
"Well,it's too late. I have everything ready for us, Andrea. Besides when we have the next baby, we will need more room. And that's just a matter of time. I want a big family, " He said with a grin.
"No. You can't be serious about another baby. We are lucky Jasmine and I are both healthy. Why risk it again?" I said shaking.
"Well, we don't have to talk about that now. Let's just focus on the move and our daughter. You are mine now. My wife. Once you heal we can continue our physical relationship. Finally have a real honeymoon. Go pack anything you need. Our new house will be more secure. A tall fence around the whole thing. I even got a lock that has a code. Anyone who doesn't have the code can't get in or go out," he says with a smirk.
"Are we moving tonight?" I said realizing he wasn't wasting any time. He knew that I was more likely to run since I was no longer pregnant and he wasn't taking any chances.
One week after Jasmine's birth, he was forcing us to move in order to keep me from escaping.
"Yes. I need to keep you and Jasmine separate from everything. You know safe," he said softly.
"No I don't want to move to a new place. I am used to the apartment, " I said almost begging.
"Andrea, just do as I ask. This move isn't up for negotiation. Get whatever you need," he said frustrated.
I went and got a few things knowing I had no choice. My survival depended on my obeying him. Was his way always.
I got a bag putting in my favorite night shirt, hairbrush, my sister's heart shape necklace, body lotion, some blue jeans, one of Shane's old tee shirts I still had, and a stuff bear that I figured Jasmine would like as she got older.
Philip then handcuffed me and I was lead to a car by Martinez.
