"Trial Agent Romanova report to Director Fury's office" I hear a male voice request over the loudspeaker in the cafeteria.

I head that way and open his office door to see Director Fury standing next to a short brunette man.

"Anastasia, meet Eric Keonig. He's going to ask you a few questions and then you will receive a S.H.I.E.L.D. badge" Fury says as I shake Eric's hand.

"It is nice to meet you Ms. Romanova, I have met your sister before and she is great out on the field" Eric says as we approach a room with a very torture device looking chair.

"What are you doing?" I ask skeptically.

"This is just a lie detector we like to put agents through before we give them a badge. Nick Fury designed it himself actually after meeting your sister and seeing her extreme ability to lie with ease" he says, as I strap myself in the chair hesitantly.

"It shouldn't hurt, it just reads your brainwaves and I can tell your reactions to different questions."

He walks away towards an I-Pad, "Are you ready?"

I nod my head as he begins his questioning, "We'll start simple. What is your full name?"

"Anastasia Romanova."

His screen turns slightly red as he asks another question, "No middle name?"

"I don't know if I have a middle name" I say truthfully.

His screen turns green, "Eye color?"

"Brown."

"Have you ever been married?"

"No."

"Please list your immediate family."

"Just my sister Natalia."

"No other relatives, parents, grandparents?" he wonders.

"All dead, at least the ones I know of."

"I'm sorry to hear that" he says sympathetically before continuing, "What is the difference between an egg and a rock?"

"One is fragile, easily breakable while the other is solid."

"Why did you name yourself Red Squirrel?"

"I didn't, I hate that name. Someone called me it once and it caught on."

"Have you ever killed an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. before?"

"Yes, two" I say in shame.

"Who? And why?"

"One I don't know the name of, he killed the entire family I lived next door to. And David Trent, I was on a mission, and my instructor at the Red Room, she ordered me to kill him or I would have to fight in the ring."

"What is this ring at the Red Room?"

I take a deep breath, not realizing how deep these questions would bring up memories. "Every week, two girls at random would be forced to fight each other to the death, and training would be canceled all day to watch the matches" I admit, trying to ignore the memories trying to drown my thoughts.

"That's horrible, I'm sorry to hear that."

"Do you have contact with anyone who was in the KGB?"

"Yes."

"Who?" he asks as I see him edge his hand toward his gun.

"My sister" I say as he breaths a sigh in realization.

"You wash up on a deserted island alone. Sitting on the sand is a box, what's in that box?"

"Food, and communication devices."

"Clarify, what kind of communication devices?" he asks.

"Phones, a radio, anything that will help me contact someone to get off the island."

"Final Question, you said to Agent Romanoff you'd rather go to jail then work here, what changed your mind?"

"Seeing my sister with Clint. I could tell she was happy and trusted S.H.I.E.L.D. and I thought maybe I can learn to."

"Congrats Agent Romanova, here is your badge" he says holding it out to me as I grab it.

"With your badge, you can also access a locker which should be in the training room."

"Am I free to leave?"

"Yes Ms. Romanova, you may leave."
