Franky handed her the flowers. The throw made them look quite demolished. Some petals were missing and most of the flowers' heads hang down. However, Robin looked back at Franky with a pleased smile: "Thank you for not letting them die yet. Even though they seem pretty close to it now." Franky was both happy and worried about her response. Nevertheless, Robin looked at him normally again and there didn't seem to be bad blood anymore. Now Franky finally took a look at the shrine in front of him. He took a closer look at the pillars, softly tapping on them with his knuckles.
"It's not the best kind of work I've ever seen but some of the details are quite impressive.", Franky said pointing at the inscriptions and the stone flowers.
"And yet it is packed with history.", Robin added placing herself next to Franky. She moved along the letters engraved in the stone with her finger. At some point Franky's hand and Robin's finger met, which made Franky flinch. Robin didn't seem to be bothered and continued to think about the history of the temple. She went towards the center again and kept looking at the mysterious letters. Out of respect, she didn't try to get too close to the "holy water". The incident with the man who wanted to attack her for touching the water increased her curiosity. In that moment, Franky and Robin heard rustling in the bushes next to the temple and some voices. Robin grabbed Frankys huge robotic arm and pulled him with her to the other bushes in the opposite direction of the noises.
"Wha…?!", before Franky could finish, Robin pushed him into a big bush, gladly big enough to hide him and her, pushed him down and put her hand in front of his mouth. Franky noticed that Robin looked serious, which was why he decided to ask questions later. A group of people in dark clothes approached the temple. They appeared to be shocked at something. Robin decided to use her powers to spy on them. She closed her eyes and formed an X with her arms in front of her chest. An ear and one eye appeared at one of the pillars.
She was able to see the group clearly and listen at their conversation.
"Why is he laying here like that?! Is he unconscious? He was supposed to guard this place, god damnit!", one woman with a black cloak said, pushing the man Franky had knocked out before.
"It looks like he was beaten up. I don't think someone of the locals would dare to do something like that…", a big skinny guy said. He was wearing a long top hat and big black sun glasses.
"I suppose we have to get rid of this issue, otherwise this whole shitshow was for nothing.", another guy said. He was also wrapped in a big black cloak and his face was hidden by the shadow of his hood.
There were also two other people, another man and a small woman, but they didn't add anything to the conversation. After that the skinny man lifted the unconscious man and put his body around his shoulders. The entire group left and Robin wasn't able to hear what they were saying after they disappeared behind the bushes.
Robin stopped using her powers and Franky looked at her waiting for what had just happened.
"What was that?", Franky asked, scratching the back of his head. Robin looked through the bush and decided that it was safe enough to leave their hide-out.
"I'm not sure, but something's going on with this temple and some people.", Robin said. This didn't really answer any of Franky's questions, but he got on his knees and tried to stand up. As he tried to do so, he hit his head pretty bad at a big branch above them. Due to Franky's strong robotic body, the branch cracked and was about to fall on Robin. Franky noticed the falling branch, grabbed Robin around her waist and pulled her to him. The branch fell on the ground, making a loud noise, but Robin wasn't hit. After Franky was glad that nothing happened, he realized how close Robin was. They looked at each other not saying a word.
