It was a sunny morning in Seattle with a few clouds in the sky and a gentle breeze within the air. The "A" shift at the Station had just come off of their usual timely shift and had each broken away from each other to do their own activities for the day.

Andy quickly stopped by her own place to take a quick shower and pack a fresh overnight bag and to also grab her necklace and her engagement ring. She wore a simple pair of light washed jeans and a maroon colored t-shirt with some brown leather sandals and a high ponytail.

She sat outside her favorite cafe of which she used to stop by after high school classes with Ryan and where she even got a part time job at one time before joining the academy. She sat in her car and twirled around the pretty diamond ring on her finger and brainstormed thousands of different ways to help her father hear her side out fully and still be supportive.

Andy knew for the most part that he clearly was onboard seeing that he gave Robert the all clear in signs to propose so she felt a little more whole in knowing that he wasn't entirely mad at this situation.

She applied a little lipgloss to her lips and stepped out of her car with her keys, wallet and phone in hand and made her way inside the cafe.

"Good morning dad" Andy stated,side hugging her dad first and then moving to sit on the other side of the booth.

"Andy, you look very nice today. Any plans on grabbing a bite to eat while we're here?" Pruitt asked, hoping to start this conversation off on somewhat good terms.

"Food sounds good; I haven't had anything for the morning yet besides a quick thing of oats and a cup of coffee" she replied softly checking out the menu in front of her.

Andy decided to go with something pretty big in hopes of taking some to go for Robert so she decided on a fresh stack of fluffy buttermilk pancakes with a side of hash browns and bacon with a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice.

Pruitt decided on French toast with turkey sausage patties and scrambled eggs with a cup of hot chocolate.

"The ring is very beautiful," he stated, looking down at her ring finger.

"Thank you he did a really good job picking it out considering we didn't really speak over our likes and dislikes for rings" Andy responded showing off her hand to her dad.

"Are you happy?" Pruitt asked again. He didn't want to make it seem like he was against their choice to marry each other but he definitely wanted to make sure that his daughter was 100% happy.

"Yes dad, I'm happy. Me and Robert have been together for more than a little while at this point now and I'm pretty confident that we're ready to take this next step. I can't promise you rainbows and confetti all of the time you see or hear from us but we're fine dad and this decision is definitely heartfelt on both sides." she said, smiling at him.

"That's good Andy you know I always want nothing but the best for you and I'm happy when your happy so If you say Robert is the guy then I'll happily walk you down the aisle."

Andy and Pruitt then ate and finished their late morning breakfast and Andy placed the untouched food of which she didn't eat into a box and Pruitt payed for the meal and the each left with a hug goodbye.

Robert had just gotten back home from the gym after he left the station and he decided on doing his laundry and taking a quick shower due to the fact he knew Andy would be coming over soon.

He went into the kitchen and he prepared himself a strawberry banana smoothie of which he was almost done making before he saw his front door open.

"Robert" Andy called out, noticing it was pretty silent in the front part of the house.

She walked further inside resting her bags onto the couch and going into the kitchen. The sight of Robert standing there in nothing but his boxers with a glass in his hand smiling straight at her did wonders to the butterflies in her stomach.

"Hi baby" He stated taking a sip from his glass before setting it down and opening up his arms to her for a hug.

Andy quickly wiped off the smile that crept up onto her face and removed the cloudy thoughts in her mind of his strong muscular half naked frame and embraced him into a hug.

"You're usually not dressed like this so early in the day" she commented as she backed away from him and watched him continue drinking from the glass.

"I left the station, had a couple meetings, then I went to the gym, did an amazing upper body workout and I came back, took a shower and made a smoothie. I didn't know you were coming so fast but hey just be thankful I wasn't fully naked down here it wouldn't be a first for me" Robert said laughing noticing how blushed Andys cheeks were getting.

Robert finished his smoothie and quickly rinsed out his glass. Andy went and grabbed the bag of food from the couch and placed it on the kitchen counter.

"This is a bit of leftovers from breakfast with my dad if you're still hungry. The conversation went great, no bumps all smooth." She said leaning up to give him a kiss of which he happily responded.

"Mmmm thanks for brunch but I think you should help me with my lower body workout now and I think if I remember clearly we have a celebration to celebrate" Robert said picking her up and around his waist and began walking her straight into his bedroom.

"You can go eat, you know. I'm just cold and shaky now that our steamy session is over." Andy said laughing.

"I can get you your robe or some underwear and a shirt" He offered ready to get up and get it for her.

"Not yet your nakedness is sufficient enough at keeping me warm for the moment and so is this sheet" She responded looking up at him.

"In a couple more shifts I'll be introduced as your Battalion Chief and they'll have to battle around choosing someone for the new open position for captain." He stated lifting the warm silence that filled the room.

"I can't wait to see you and all your extra fancy name tags and buttons, maybe I'll even give you a little something something sneakily at the station to break in your new uniform and position." Andy said in a slight whisper against his chest.

"Andy remember no sex or heavy flirting at the station we both know staying quiet isn't our thing and I definitely don't want anybody at the station accidentally seeing their Chief pants less and in all of his full man glory." He responded.

"That wouldn't happen if we close the door but on a different note I've been meaning to ask you; Can we start planning the wedding? I know it's still a little early but I want to start getting ideas in and maybe my dress.I don't want a lot of people there maybe like 20 the most" She said rubbing her hand against his shoulder.

"You can do just about anything you want with our wedding babe I'm down for whatever you want as long as it's not like dark colors please do whatever you do make it bright" Robert said knowing that he would hate to have a dark styled wedding.

"Got it"

Robert then got up and went into his drawers and pulled out a clean pair of boxers and put them on followed by a pair of sweatpants and a white t-shirt. He then went over to Andys designated drawers and pulled out a clean pair of underwear for her too and took her navy silk robe off the hanger in his closet.

He helped her into her underwear and allowed her to finish putting it on by herself and he then placed her robe carefully around her avoiding eye contact with her bare chest which didn't go unnoticed by Andy which caused her to laugh resulting in both of them laughing.

"Thank you for helping me even though I could do it by myself. I love you Robert Sullivan" Andy said leaning up to him.

"I love you more Andrea. Let's go into the kitchen now before we go have round 2 of which we'll never end at that point" Robert replied kissing her and then smacking her butt as she walked away from him and out the room.
