I don't own BNHA, just my OCs.

"Is she asleep now?" said the man quietly to the woman standing across the room from him. He glanced down at the small girl who was wrapped around her; sound asleep and resting against her chest. The woman nodded.

"Good." he said, taking off his glasses. He moved his empty hand to his head and closed his tired eyes.

"Let's have her sleep with us tonight." the woman said after a minute, in a hushed voice.

"Yes, I think that would be best." he agreed.

He collected his thoughts, pushed his messy black hair away from his face and put his glasses back on. He walked from the fogged-up window where he had been standing, over to the double bed. He moved one of the pillows from the side closest to him into the middle and folded the tattered patchwork blanket over.

Careful not to disturb the peaceful girl, the woman moved to the other side of the bed and gently lowered the girl onto bed and rested her head on the pillow in the middle. The pair changed into bed clothes and joined the girl on the bed, sitting either side of her.

"What are we going to do about her Soji?" asked the woman, as she gently brushed the little girl's hair with her hand. "We've tried everything we can think of to calm her down, and she's just getting worse.".

Soji sat in thought for a little while, he hated seeing her so heartbroken and worried. He was still in disbelief about how rapidly their lives had descended into chaos and couldn't think of a solution.

"I'll do some research now, my love" he stood up and walked over to the scuffed pinewood desk in the corner, sat down on the flimsy chair and opened his laptop. He turned it on with a sigh and rubbed his forehead whilst he waited for it to start up; once it had, he opened the internet browser. He thought for a few seconds before typing in the search: How to keep a child's quirk under control. Having scanned down the results, Soji did not feel optimistic.

Whilst still looking at the screen he said "Well Aya, there are a few different routes we could go down…" he paused for another moment "...they all seem quite cruel though.".

Aya had been desperately hoping there was a safe way for her daughter to control her quirk, but after months of trying to help her, she had begun to fear the worst. "I suppose that is to be expected…" she trailed off and looked back down at her daughter, snuggled into the pillow and unaware of her destructive power.

"How about this, it says it's a quirk control device that the child wears, but it can be taken off by us if we want. It's far less invasive than some of the other ones…" said Soji.

"That doesn't sound too bad, have many doctors recommended it? Are there any side effects?" she enquired.

"Yes, quite a few doctors recommend it, and there are only a few side effects. But it's very expensive, we will need to save for months just to get a loan..." he said warily. "I'll look again to see if there's another option." Soji turned back to his laptop.

Aya had hoped to avoid a resolution like this when they discovered that their youngest daughter Keiko had such a powerful quirk, but whatever it was they couldn't seem to help her control it. This morning she had fought with her older sister and knocked her across the living room, and when Aya had come to stop her the whole house had begun to shake. Aya knew she shouldn't be afraid of her own daughter, but if Keiko could do that much aged 3, what would she be capable of when her quirk grew stronger.

Aya looked down at her phone and checked the time, it was 12.30 am, they really should try and get some sleep before Keiko wakes them up for the usual 5am morning routine.

"Any luck finding an alternative?" she asked Soji.

"No, not really, but we can go to the doctor soon and ask his opinion." Soji said whilst scrolling absentmindedly through the webpage on the computer.

"Let's get some sleep now, it's late." said Aya.

Soji turned the laptop off and walked back over to the bed. The couple laid down together, with their daughter snuggled between them.

"Don't worry." Soji said softly, as he took Aya's hand "We'll work something out.".
