When Vexen woke up, he was disoriented and depressed. He remembered what had happened last night and the night before and he could kick himself. "I'm an idiot," he mumbled to himself, getting up to fix coffee and breakfast for the twins.

Marluxia was already up. Amelia had woken up earlier and caused a fuss, so now he was slowly pacing the living room with the —now sleeping — child in his arms. "Morning." He said quietly to Vexen

Vexen averted his eyes and left the room, going down to the kitchen and starting up the burner to fry the eggs.

Marluxia frowned at the door Vexen disappeared through and quickly went off to put Mia back in bed, snuggling her up to Al.

"What was that about?" He asked Vexen as h entered the kitchen.

"I'm too guilty to look you in the eyes," Vexen mumbled, putting butter in the pan and cracking an egg.

"Don't be ridiculous." Marluxia said, coming up behind Vexen and kissing his neck.

Vexen looked back at him, astonished. "You… aren't angry with me?" he asked.

Marluxia shrugged a little and smiled. "What's the point?"

"Oh, Marluxia!" Vexen sighed, relieved, turning to kiss the said one. He heard the egg hissing in the frying pan and focused forward again, flipping the egg before it burned. The yolk broke. Vexen sighed. "I hope you don't mind scrambled," he said.

"I don't mind." Marluxia said, wrapping his arms around Vexen's waist and resting his head on the blond's shoulder. "Mmh. Mia woke me up at the asscrack of dawn, I'm wiped."

Vexen put the spatula down and petted Marluxia. "Mmm," he said affectionately. "Maybe breakfast will help."

"Yeah, that's what I'm hoping. I don't wanna go back to sleep." Marluxia said as he peeled himself away and went to sit at the breakfast bar.

Vexen finished fixing the eggs and put them on plates, one for himself, one for each of the twins, and one for Mia

Marluxia said thanks for his, and happily started eating, seeming to only stop to breathe. He was ravenous.

Vexen ate slowly. He was relieved that Marluxia wasn't angry with him but afraid he'd screw up again. He was terrified of Al. He didn't blame the newfound twin one bit for hating him if he did. Then he decided to do what Marluxia did: push aside his thoughts and be happy for the moment.

"Who the hell put the sproglette next to me?" Al complained as he came into the kitchen. His body knew when food was around, no matter how deeply asleep he seemed to be. He grabbed his plate and sat next to Vexen. "She kicks like nothin' else. And who made breakfast? I hate scrambled eggs."

"I did," said Vexen quietly, "and you can eat it or wear it."

Alrumia grunted and quietly started to eat, but not because of Vexen. Marluxia had given him a dark look and he didn't want to piss off his brother.

"I'm gonna start looking for a new apartment soon, one with room for all of us." Marluxia said once Al had busied himself.

Vexen looked up in amazement. Did that include him?

"I mean, my family just kinda grew overnight, huh? So I can't keep living in a one room apartment." Marluxia continued, glancing up at Vexen. "Something wrong, Vex'?"

"Nothing," said Vexen. He decided that it would be wise to assume that Marluxia meant a place for just the twins and Mia and went back to eating his eggs

"Are you gonna help me look?" Marluxia asked with a smile, now only picking at the remainders of his food.

"Hmm? Yes, of course…" said Vexen, puzzled.

Marluxia smiled. "Good, I'll leave Mia with you, Al', while we go apartment hunting."

Alrumia groaned in protest, but it was still a yes.

"Marluxia, before we go apartment hunting, I … I need to visit my own mother. I'd very much like it if you came along. All of you."

"I don't wanna meet yer ma'." Al said first, before Marluxia could get a word in.

"Shut up, Al. Why do you want us to come?"

"Because you're both obnoxious bastards. You know how to get your way, or at least you're stubborn enough to try whatever it takes. When it comes to my ma, I'm weaker than a kitten. I… I need the moral support."

Al laughed, Marluxia bit his lips stop himself from doing the same.

"Sure, Vex, sure we can do that for you." He said, when a little more composed.

"Thanks," said Vexen gratefully, eating the rest of his breakfast quickly. "You don't mind if I use your shower? I never did get properly clean last night."

"Sure, why would I mind?" Marluxia asked, eyebrows furrowing a little. "Knock yourself out, I'm gonna get Mia up and dressed."

Vexen said a quick thank-you and dashed off to shower. He turned the water as hot as it would go and scrubbed until his skin was red as a lobster. He washed his body three times before washing his hair, then washed his back again before he was satisfied. He wrapped a towel around his waist and went to find his suitcase and something clean to wear.

By the time Vexen was all done, Marluxia was dressed in clean clothing, with his hair pulled back in a tail because it was too much of mess to do anything else with. He also had Mia up and dressed, the bee toy tucked under her arm.

Vexen flipped his head upside-down to towel-dry his hair and let it hang messily down his back, not bothering to brush it. At least he was clean now. He picked out a white T-shirt and a pair of old jeans.
