Hi. Thanks to everyone who yours will read my story. As the synopsis says, the story will take place in a parallel universe different from the series.I published a version of this story on a site called Nyah!Fanfic a few years ago, but this year I decided to rewrite the story and publish it here on the site.
The king of the night was riding what was once one of Daenerys's dragons, actually a different version. It was possible to see the pierced wings and that his eyes were blue. When the dragon released flames, the color change was soon noticed too, what was orange and strong was now a pale blue similar to the winter look he had on his face.
But that fire burned even faster than normal and dispersed the troops, soon causing their formation to break up. That's when another noise was heard. Daenerys was riding her dragon.
Jon woke up sweaty and scared from the dream before reaching the scene he most feared. Five years have passed since the end of the long night and since Daenerys disappeared. There was a period when the dreams had stopped more, months had passed without having them, but in the last few weeks the dreams had returned in full force. Could this fact be related to the arrival of an apparent winter?
They spent years in the spring. But apparently the mood was changing. It was strange, since summer would come soon after spring, but everything was cold as if winter had decided to pay an early visit. Very cold.
Jon liked the cold. He reminded him of the North, he wanted to be there with his sister Sansa and Bran, but he had to remain on the iron throne.
Jon wanted to raise his daughter at Winterfell, but he had to remain on the iron throne for the sake of Daenerys's memory, because he felt he owed it to her. Your Dany would be overjoyed to know that one day, when she was old enough, her daughter would sit on the iron throne. He knew that one day the girl would be a strong ruler like her mother once was. She was a lot like her.
Rhaella was a sweet Spring child. The girl had Jon's eyes, but the silver in her hair and the color of her skin were inherited from her mother. As was her personality. The girl was a combination of ice and fire. There was even a song written in his honor that spoke of this.
It was a song that for some reason always filled the eyes with tears even for those who didn't know the story behind the song, it wasn't just Jon who cried. In fact, when he heard the song during a feast, he didn't cry in front of his court, his emotion was only perceived in the form of subtle tears that ran in silence.
The crown was something that weighed even more with the lack of a queen to help him carry the burden of ruling. He missed Daenerys. He wanted what somehow Daenerys to know that the better world she had fought so hard to exist for would continue through Rhaella. He
slept with these thoughts in mind.
Jon slept for a few hours, but woke up at dawn feeling the bitter cold that was not very common in late spring. He put on his coat and decided to go and have a look at his daughter who was sleeping in the room next to his. He was still a little dizzy from the new dream he had had. He didn't remember much, but he knew that in the dream there was a lot of snow.
"Is there a problem, Your Grace?" - asked the guard who was near his door, he put himself in a defensive position.
"There's no problem, I'm just going to see my daughter. Keep in position."- Jon said following to the girl's room.
Rhaella was sound asleep apparently, only apparently, as her voice took Jon by surprise:
"Dad?"
"Yes?"
"Mom is waiting for us beyond the Wall!"
Jon felt a chill and the cold seemed to increase. He had promised himself that he would not return to the place where the old Wall used to be. He didn't want to think about it or talk about that subject his daughter had started. He also didn't want to talk about Daenerys with his daughter right now.
"What are you talking about, daughter? You know…"- the tears started to come to him eyes, he blinked to try to push them away, he wouldn't cry, not in front of his little girl- I still love her too much.
"Don't be sad, Daddy." - Rhaela said, catching his cheek with her small, thin hand. " She's beyond the Wall waiting for us.
The gesture that was supposed to be reassuring made him more agitated and thoughtful.
He remembered a kind of dream Daenerys had had and told him during the boat trip they took together, the first time they were alone and close, when they gave their love a chance. In the dream she found herself with the son she never got to know and with Drogo. They were in a cabin beyond the Wall and waiting for her. Beyond the Wall was the place where Daenerys disappeared after directly confronting the king of the night. Because of this Jon understood the dream as a metaphor.
He found himself thinking even more about the past. Cold, whenever he thought of the past, he associated it with cold.
After the epic battle of dragon against dragon in the snow, the bodies of both dragons were found, but no sign of Daenerys or the king of the night. Daenerys flew away, not wanting the army to be hurt, and for necessary because of her plan to trap the night king in a trap. At no point did Jon think that she wasn't coming back. That maybe she didn't intend to go back, if that meant bringing spring instead of long winter. He never thought about it, not even when she said she trusted him completely to take care of Rhaella, who was only a few days old.
His thoughts were interrupted by Rhaella wanting your attention:
"Daddy, are you alright?"
"I am, I'm just too tired. Let's all go back to sleep."
"Daddy, do you dream about her too?"
"I dream, but not while I sleep, I dream of her while I'm awake. "-they say that when a person love he dreams awake and Jon knew that this was true, sometimes he found himself thinking, more than thinking it was more like dreaming about your moments with Daenerys.
The girl hugged him. A little heat in the cold. Jon thought that if he dreamed of Daenerys asking him to go find her beyond the Wall, he probably would, even though he knew it was just a dream. But in his dreams there was snow, there was always only snow. Which would probably be the only thing he would find beyond the wall.
