Surprisingly the journey back to Courrisant was uneventful, the Tookas were not any trouble, and the Droids were happy to know they would soon be free of their bane. The medbay had more visitors than usual with the promise of any trooper who has had their physical would get to spend time with the two Tookas. Which made that much less of a headache.
Having the Negotiator docked and getting the different units into their ships went smoothly with three of them (Cody with Sahl while Waxer followed with the General and Boil backing them up) went to the temple. They had a cab drive them within five blocks before they got out to 'walk their pets' at the local park so that the driver wouldn't know that the cats were really Jedi. Knowing how things usually are this smoothness should have put Cody on his guard.
Then came the falling apart, with seven adult Tookas gathering around the three troopers and hissing at the General. This was just a declaration of ownership warning off the intruder and they would have been able to walk thought the area with some growls. But that was without Sahl. And when Sahl puffed up and hissed back, the other Tookas were out for blood.
Why they wanted to murder the kitten, Cody would never know. He just knew that there were seven Tookas jumping at his little Jedi. So he cradled her close to his chest, put his head down, and ran.
Weaving though the people around him he jumped over a few fences in order to get away from the murderous Tookas. It was an interesting few block as he used preventive tactics to get them safely to the Temple, with several civilians yelling abuse at his back. He did not skid to a stop in front of a side door to the the Jedi Temple, although a few other people might say that. That was a tactical choice in order to avoid running into Waxer and Boil who were right in front of him discussing something with Generals Seccura and Koon, both of whom were holding spare robes.
Looking at him General Koon nodded, "Hello Commander. We were just discussing how to get the Tookas into the Temple without carrying them as they may transform as soon as they are inside of it." Seeing Cody's look at the extra robes, "Reflecting on how you both Obi-wan and Shal left their robes behind when they transformed it seemed like a good idea to have something to cover them if needed."
Nodding once at that Cody looked at Boil, "I have the string and the collapsible rod in the usual pocket." Seeing General Seccura raise an eyebrow slightly, "Commander Sahl loves sting, and the General has been partial to chasing pencils so we got a bigger one for him."
The graceful Twi'lek woman nodded, "That should help get them across the barrier." Looking at both Waxer and Boil, "If the two of you could please ensure no one can see into here, we will start the attempt."
Both troopers nodded, and left after giving the unaltered Jedi the string and rod. Both Generals untangled what was needed and General Koon looked General Kenobi where Waxer had set him on the floor sniffing at the new smells here. When the rod hit the ground however the Tookas full attention went to it, as soon as it moved General Keobi went after it. Cody and General Seccura both looked away from what happened next, but the human groaning as General Koon bent to lay the robe over the newly changed Kenobi was loud.
Standing up while drawing his robe closer around him the ginger haired General spoke, "What happened?"
Looking at him Cody answered, "You were turned into a Tooka sir." Sahl'ika hissed at the strange sight and puffed up as Kenobi reached out a finger, which she batted when he got too close. Cody ran a finger down her head, "Commander Sahl is still in her Tooka form, because she doesn't trust this situation."
Kenobi nodded and turned to General Koon, "If you could please fill me in on what has been happening." The Kel Dor nodded and they walked inside the building leaving General Seccura looking at Cody who was still holding the kitten.
It was not easy to get Sahl to cross into the Temple. No matter how General Seccura moved the string the kitten wasn't interested, and sank her little claws into Cody's gloves when he tried to set her down in an attempt to get her to go after the string. Finally he slipped off the gauntlets and she looked at him reproachfully as Cody stepped back.
Looking down at her, "Come on Sahl'ika." Then he walked into the Temple. She immediately hurried after him mewing for attention but he didn't look back. Soon General Seccura went forward toward the mew that changed into a groan.
"Codes?" his little Jedi asked. He turned slightly out of habit but he saw the General still holding the robe so he quickly looked away again. There was the familiar sound of robes and her quiet voice said, "Thank you."
"Are you alright Sahl?" General Seccura asked the teen.
There was an edge to Sahls voice as she answered, "I think so. But why did I come too naked in a Temple Courtyard?"
Still not looking at her Cody spoke, "You were changed into a Tooka Sahl'ika. The Generals found a way to turn both you and General Kenobi back, but we needed to be at the Temple to do it."
"Can anyone see in here?" she asked timidly.
There was a hint of amusement in his answer, "Not unless either Waxer or Boil were knocked out." Ducking his head awkwardly, "Do you want me to clear the corridor to your room so you can get something more substantial?"
Sahl's hand rested on his shoulder as she answered, "Yes please." Still not looking back he nodded and General Seccura started talking to his little Jedi. Cody made sure to clear the way and Maker help anyone who refused to leave.
