Hehe, I know I know. Long time no see. I'm back and trying to get back to writing. How many of you missed me? It's been like 5 months. So things are starting to heat up a bit with me having a new quirk. let's get to it, shall we?

A saddening reveal

Chapter 6

P.O.V Jaden

I woke up hoping that yesterday was just a dream.

I looked at my hand and pulled at a power that shouldn't be within me.

After a few seconds, my hand glowed with a blue light and power that was foreign to my bones.

I let go and felt a small pain like I had pulled a rubber band and suddenly let go.

Now I know that my dreams were now possible. Not the things I hoped to achieve but the dreams I have been having since I was young. Now, it's a matter of controlling it. I reached for the water bottle on my bed stand but it froze the second I made a motion to reach for it.

"What the hell?"

I grabbed the frozen water bottle. It was rock solid. On a density scale that I had made to gauge my power output, this was a solid 8 out of ten. Normally 5 is the best I can do without tiring myself. It seems that my power has been increased by like two times. Maybe this was the effect of Izukus's quirk. If I recall correctly it's a stockpiling quirk that gets stronger with each generation. It also seems to increase the power of possibly existing quirks.

So that means...DO I HAVE TO MASTER MY QUIRK AGAIN? GOD DAMN IT

I threw the frozen water bottle down into my dirty clothes. I'll have to get that sometime.

I got out of bed, lazily fixed the bed, showered, brushed my teeth, and(by accident) drank some orange juice.

At this point, I didn't even care. I'm just glad it didn't freeze the second I poured it.

I grabbed my backpack and pulled out a book.

In the said book was how to make a large breakfast for several people. I picked out eggs, bacon, and toast. I left the instructions on the table with the ingredients close by.

So now, when my brother wakes up, he could read the instructions, and make everyone breakfast. His culinary skills are nonexistent, to say the least.

I grabbed a prepared lunch and headed out. I was hoping I had enough time to check on the arena. It was almost complete and ready to open again. Many of the people that finished healing came by to help with the reconstruction.

I had stopped by a small bakery that Lilly owned. Yup, not her father, her. He had given her money to do whatever she wanted and took up baking. She has another location inside of the arena(no surprise there).

I was greeted with a large amount of squealing

"Hey hey calm down already, I need my ears to help here later," I called out

Lilly spends most of her time working the shop in the arena so this location is normally run by a bunch of girls...fangirls. Thankfully there are a few guys here.

One guy behind the counter said to me "Hey! Jaden what's up?"

"Oh same old same old, you?"

"Oh, I think I'm about to be promoted and I heard about what happened...about the arena"

My good mood and everyone else's dropped

"I-'m sorry for bringing it up"

"No it's fine" I assured him "Ryan...he wouldn't want us to forget him"

"Yeah..."

After a few moments, everything slowly returned to normal.

"So Should I get your usual?"

"Yeah, could you bring me Ryans too?" I asked slowly

"Of course man., I'm sure Lilly wouldn't mind this being on the house."

After he handed me, 2 bags I headed out. I ran to a small graveyard.

This is where he laid...not in the ground but just in a casket. He will be here for about another few days, that's when his funeral will be.

Around him, was a few small gifts and presents.

Someone had remembered to change his flowers...they died a bit too quickly...just like...

I shook that thought out of my head.

"Hey man, I brought your favorite," I said, choking up a bit

I lightly placed the bag next to him.

"You always had a sweet tooth huh?"

I sat on the floor in front of him.

"I still can't believe your gone"

I reached into my bag and pulled out a simple chocolate crescent.

"You know, it feels like ages ago when it has only been days."

With a heavy heart, I took a small bite.

"I don't even know why I'm eating this, I'm not hungry"

My throat felt like lead, and my chewing felt pointless.

"Man, it's hard without you around...my best friend."

I remembered reading somewhere that when you actually felt your heart hurting, you knew it was a different pain and they were so right. This was beyond any pain id ever felt.

"Just today and yesterday, something cray happened and I don't know how to handle it...not without you. You were always the smart one, guiding me through this crazy world."

I could feel the hot tears streaking my face. But it didn't matter to me, nothing did at the moment.

After 10 minutes of slowly eating the small dessert in my hand while the tears came in like a river, I finally got up.

"It is your dream that I will achieve. Your death isn't going to be in vain."

I took a good look at him. How they had him. This...this isn't Ryan.

I reached forward but hesitated. Is this something I should be doing? Would this be disrespecting him?

"Screw it...that's what he would say." I messed up his hair and fixed his face. I changed the small smile they left him to a smirk. His smirk...the one he always made when he was working.

"Ah, I see that I didn't get the face right," A woman said behind me.

I didn't jump. I couldn't. I turned to face the lady slowly.

"Don't get me wrong...he looked nice, he seemed peaceful, but that wasn't Ryan"

'I figured. I noticed how you hesitated. He seemed like an extraordinary young man"

"He was" I looked back at him "The best person I had ever met."

"Well, he's in good hands now. Before you leave, could I perhaps catch your name?"

As I picked up my bookbag again I replied "Jaden..."

Her eyebrows shot up "Jaden you say?"

"Yes"

She reached into her pocket and pulled out an envelope "It is addressed to a Jaden, but no last name. Judging you're the main visitor I would assume this is for you"

"I would hope so," I said dryly

"Maybe check it out after school, if I may, I think you should be getting to class." She said as she handed me the envelope.

"Thank you very much."

I carefully put it in my pocket and ran to class.

I didn't even pay attention and everybody could tell. They could see that my mind was elsewhere.

As soon as school ended I rushed out the door, just to be stopped by Mr. Aizawa.

"Jaden, I'll let it slide but next time I'm going to need you to pay attention in class," he told me softly

"I understand Sir"

"I assume you went to see your friend that passed?"

I looked up confused "Yes, I did, how did you know?"

"I'd recognize that look anywhere...and you left your graveyard pass on"

I looked and saw he was right...that's why everyone avoided me...I'm an idiot for letting this get to me. I grabbed the pass and shoved it in my pocket. "I'll be more focused tomorrow sir. I promise. Have a nice evening and I'll see you tomorrow" I said as I slowly walked out

"You too Jaden. You too."

.

Outside

.

I was reaching for the letter in my pocket when suddenly I was grabbed by my feet and yanked upwards.

As I hung upside down, the letter fell to the floor.

Then I heard a laugh.

"Poor Jaden, all alone. Doesn't have him, mommy or daddy, to protect him, not even your friend's little robots can save you." A voice I knew all too well called out to me.

It was these jerks who had liked picking on me. They have been doing it forever. Until I had covered their houses in ice.

"You dad cant cover our houses in ice as long as he doesn't know" A different boy cackled.

"So how much money did your parents have to pay to get you into the top class of UA?"

"And fake that incident with your "arena"?"

I finally spoke up. "Leave me alone...I'm not in the mood for your games" I spoke slowly

"What's this?" The main jerk asked. He was talking about the letter I had dropped. He stomped on it and twisted his foot on it.

My teeth clenched

"Must be important," He started grinning, "could this be the last letter from that loser you seemed to enjoy spending time with so much?"

My anger took a hold of me, I could feel my power responding to the change within me.

Ice spears formed around my body and shot at the bully, but a blast of fire canceled them out.

"tsk tsk tsk, I told you a long time ago, that I'll never have to worry about your ice."

I turned and saw a small timid boy shaking badly...it was him...the fire...so that was his back up.

"I must say Jaden, I am impressed with that, Those spears were bigger than anything I've seen you create"

If I want to get out of this, I'll have to bring the big guns. I stopped breathing as hard as I was and slowly breathed in and out.

I could feel mist seeping off of my body, it lowered the temperature. Soon it was snowing, and a little bit later, hailing.

"Jaden! I must say I am very surprised indeed. You've been holding out on us you sly dog" The bully laughed "If we had known you were capable of this, we would have been your friends a long time ago"

"SHUT UP" I yelled down at them. "YOU DON'T DESERVE FRIENDSHIP AFTER WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT HIM OR HER. YOU ARE THE REASON SHE IS GONE YOU BASTARDS" Memories of one other person that had been nice to me had flooded my system.

The hail stopped falling and all lifted to a single spot.

"I'll show you," I said filled with rage

The hail started to shift into a shape

"The pain I felt"

The ice had taken shape, as a phoenix completely composed of ice

"When you convinced her to kill herself"

The phoenix charged at the now frozen boys

"And when you insulted Ryan even after death" I finished

Before the Icebird could finish its descent an explosion rang out destroying the bird.

"OI, WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!"

I fainted after that, letting my long-forgotten memories remind me of their presence.

Wow, that was a roller coaster for me. Idk why I added another dead person but I did. That Ryan part actually nearly made me cry. Idk how I poured that out but I did. Anyway let me know what you think about the story, I'll be trying to update a lot more frequently
