Kitty leaned her head on Rachel's shoulder, not really paying as much attention to the movie as she really ought to. But it wasn't really her fault that Rachel was a very distracting presence. She'd finally been able to hold Rachel's hand in public, to look Ray's parents in the eyes without worrying what they'd think (and why had she ever worried, they loved Rachel and they loved Kitty both, why had she worried?)
With that weight lifted from her shoulders there was nothing standing between her and Ray except her own nerves. And this stupid movie.
Do you want to turn the movie off and make out? Rachel asked.
"I thought you'd never suggest it." Kitty crawled into Rachel's lap, kissing her deeply. But I want to do more than just make out, Ray.
She felt Ray shiver underneath her, sensed a sort of hesitation. She pulled her head back, "Everything okay?"
"Yeah," Rachel breathed. "Suddenly very nervous."
"Well if you don't want to we can wait." Kitty cupped her face, "It's really okay."
"No, no that's not it. I want to." God I've been waiting.
Kitty flushed at the leaked thought, "I've been told this can be earth shattering."
"Don't worry." Rachel seemed to regain her confidence and slid her arms around Kitty, "I'll be sure to live up to expectations."
