Chapter 28: The Storm
Hello everyone! Time for the next chapter! As usual, I don't own Fire Emblem, Sonic, or Smash. Any ideas are my idea! Enjoy!
Sonic went down to the power station to investigate the source of the outage. He wanted to see who caused the problem. The only problem is that he's never been to the power station. He was desperately running around the mansion and hoping he would, eventually, reach it. He just seemed to be running to a place that seemed to be out of his sight.
Suddenly, Sonic came around a corner in the mansion to see Tails. Tails held up a hand to halt his friend. "Hold up, Sonic. The power station is this way. I looked over the blueprint of the mansion and saw the power station's location," Tails explained. Sonic nodded and followed Tails to the area.
Tails and Sonic arrived to survey the damage. Knuckles had arrived earlier by Tails help and was assessing the extent of the destruction. Sonic couldn't believe the chaos. The wires were frayed, the terminal was smashed, everything was on the ground in a big mess. Sonic just couldn't imagine why there would be an attack on the mansion. He just sighed. Master Hand arrived with the rest of the fighters. He stopped to show everyone what had been done. People were shocked by the sight, while others were scared that no one heard the attack. In the end, everyone just couldn't grasp the reason behind the attack, but Sonic had his suspicions. He wanted to walk up to the person responsible and expose him, but he knew it wouldn't have helped. Everyone went back to their rooms, more confused than anything about that night.
Sonic and his friends returned to his room. They stood in a circle and started to brainstorm. "We know who did this," Sonic implied, "He knows he can't be touched, though. We need to let him think this is his win, but we will wait for our opening. When that happens, we'll strike." Everyone nodded. "Right now, it's late. Let's get some sleep and approach this with a fresh start. Good night," he commanded. They nodded again and went to bed in Sonic's room.
Meanwhile…
Ganondorf had returned to the main base with Bowser and Dark Pit. Eggman entered the room walking proudly. "Thank you for the help. With the attack on the power station, we will be finished with everything by the end of the day tomorrow," Eggman reported. Ganondorf sneered at the Doctor's report status, "Good job, Doctor. With our army and the power suit, we will carry out the next stage of our plan. Let's review," he said, "First, tomorrow night, Eggman will transport the power suit up to the arena and leave it in the champ's box. During the finals tomorrow, each of you will leave your spot in the arena. Bowser, your task will be to get back to the mansion and lead the army to the arena to attack. Bowser Jr., your job is to keep the arena on lockdown to ensure all the fighters stay in the arena until the army arrives. Dark Pit, your job is to subdue Master hand so that he doesn't try anything. Eggman, you are to activate the army when the time is right. I will keep Sonic busy with the fight, so that he doesn't catch on to you all. After the army marches on the arena, we will start with capturing the fighters. Then, with the fighters captured, we will send the army to march on the dimensions where our villain friends will use them to take over the multiverse. With everything in place, there is no way we can lose. We shall be victorious. Relish the success, after tomorrow, we will be conquerors. Any questions," Ganondorf asked, there was silence, "Then, my allies, let's end this day with victory waiting in the wing." They all left the main area aside from Ganondorf, "After I capture the fighters, I will capture my allies. Then, I will hold all the cards and become an emperor…"he laughed evilly.
The next day…
Everyone awoke to power, somewhat. There was limited light in certain parts of the mansion. Master Hand was hard at work restoring the electricity from the outage that had happened last night. People were more relaxed, but tensions were still high. None were more high than those of Sonic and his friends. There were all gathered together after they ate breakfast in his room to discuss their plan of action. "So, here's what we have to do. Tomorrow is the semis and the finals. We have the day to investigate and look into a possible cause for this outage. I need us all looking into this. Whatever way possible, we need answers. Now, let's go," Sonic commanded. With that, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow set out to find answers. Little did they know they were being seen by one boxer.
Little Mac, who had recovered before the outage the previous night, was walking up to Sonic's room and noticed them all leaving. He was thinking about who caused the outage as well, but in his own way. He was watching people seeing their behaviors, but none stuck out. He considered all possibilities. He, then, saw Sonic leaving the room rather quickly. As much as he wanted to act, he knew better. He was wondering how to figure it out, then it came to him. It would be better to see the damage from last night again. After he figured it out, he went to find the damaged parts. Hopefully they weren't thrown away just yet.
Things for the morning went pretty slow. Nobody felt safe, but there was a good peace setting in. No one noticed Sonic, his friends, or Little Mac wandering around. There was peace, at least, for people to calm down from the previous night. While everyone was setting back into relaxing, Sonic and his friends were in the midst of investigating. Tails was taking to the sky, keeping a watchful eye on anyone coming. Knuckles took to being a fly on the wall and listening in to people's conversations. Shadow was tailing Ganondorf, but to no avail. Sonic was speeding around the grounds trying to see any points of interest. Mac was keeping a close eye on Sonic, but was looking into the damage. He had tracked down a lead that the damaged parts were in the trash room, but were on their way to be disposed, permanently. After he heard, he rushed off.
That afternoon, Mac had made it to the trash room with little time to spare. He started looking over the wires. Nothing really stuck out to him. He kept searching through the piles and piles of damage. Suddenly, he noticed the main panel to the breaker. On the front was a giant claw mark. Mac was shocked to see his finding. Anybody know any giant creatures with claw marks? The list of suspects, in his book, was short. " I know what you're thinking. It wasn't the blue hedgehog," said a mysterious voice. Mac turned to see Shadow behind him. "What are you doing here," he asked. "I followed you. I found your nose poking around. Good to see you found the lead," said the hedgehog. Mac just shrugged and went back to investigating the claw marks. "So, I guess Sonic is trying to find out who did this," Mac asked. "Sonic is concerned about Ganondorf, but my focus is to see who started the outage. It looks like I might know who did it," Shadow exclaimed. "Ganondorf didn't do anything. I think I know who the real enemy is," stated Mac. If you only knew the truth, thought Shadow. He wanted to say something, but he knew his argument would just fall on deaf ears. As they both looked at the panel, the noticed something attached to the scratch marks. Mac pulled the object from the panel to see a reptile scale, a yellow reptile scale. "Well, that proves a LOT," Mac stated, " Any reptiles in there with yellow scales." They both looked at each other and knew who did it. "Well, I know my next stop, and I'm not going to like this," Mac concluded and started to exit. "Well, I have something I have to do. You do what you have to do," Shadow said and left Mac by himself in the trash room. Mac watched Shadow leave and then went his way.
Later…
Sonic had spent all afternoon looking for the proof he needed, but nothing turned up. He was tired from his stroll, so he stopped. After he put the brakes on, he turned to see he ended up in the mansion garden. As he was looking around at all the flowers, he noticed to see two people sharing some time together, two people he knew very well.
Lucina and Ganondorf had taken some time together to settle down before the semis. They were strolling through the garden, appreciating the foliage when they decided to sit at a bench. Ganondorf sat down at the bench, and decided to wrap his arm around her. Lucina pulled in close. " So, this has been a different day," stated Lucina, " Hopefully, there won't be problems." Ganondorf nodded and pulled Lucina in for a kiss, "How's that for problems?" She giggled and they continued to enjoy the moment.
"Hey, Ganondork," rang a familiar voice, " Can you tell me which way to the mansion." Ganondorf rolled his eyes and Lucina just moaned, "Really, must you ruin a perfectly good moment, " stated Ganondorf. Sonic just scoffed, " Well, when you put it that way. No, but when you sabotage the power at the mansion, that makes me worry. So, you getting in a nice last moment before the semis tomorrow." Lucina and Ganondorf got up, " I guess you have us figured out. Can a couple get some privacy…" insinuated Lucina. "Well, I will let you get back to it, but remember, Lucina, I will not let you get in my way. Expect a fight," argued Sonic. "And you will get nothing short of a bout from me," she exclaimed. Ganondorf just chuckled, "And should you make it through her, then you will have your bigger problem from me. Look out for us tomorrow." Sonic just shook his head and turned to leave, "Ganondorf, enjoy your last day of freedom. Lucina, I'm sorry for the problems you will witness. Goodbye." Before Lucina could reply, Sonic was gone. She just turned to face Ganondorf, " The nerve. To think that he will be fighting me tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it." Ganondorf just shrugged, " There's nothing I can do. I won't get involved per your request. Just know I will be cheering you on." She smiled and leaned in to kiss him. There's no way he could be planning something, she thought. Ganondorf just smiled knowing, deep down, he was about to be the most powerful person in the mansion.
Meanwhile…
Zelda and Bowser were enjoying some time together on the patio of the mansion. Bowser was being a gentleman, as usual. They were both enjoying a spot of tea, taking in the moment. Nothing could be going wrong for them.
Just then, the door was thrust open by Little Mac who went straight over to them. " Zelda, I need to talk to you about something. Can I yank your ear for a second," he said. "if you must," she stated as she rolled her eyes. She got up and they both walked away from Bowser. "Of course, you know about the power outage. Well, I have proof who started. It was…" he started, but was cut off by a hand from Zelda. "Please, don't tell me it's Bowser," she paused. There was nothing but silence from Mac. "See, this is what gets me mad. I understand you don't like Bowser, but to accuse him of sabotage is wrong. So, whatever proof or clues you have, I don't care. Keep it to yourself. Do what you want. I stand next to Bowser," she stated. "So, with that said, I don't care. Go back to your life. I will go back to mine with him," she stated and pointed at Bowser. All he did was hold up his cup of tea. Mac just shook his head at her remarks, " If you want to stand by him, that's fine. I don't like it when the power is messed up for something. Just know, I will get to the bottom of this," he stated. He left back to the mansion, leaving the couple alone.
That night…
The power was fully restored to the mansion that night. Everyone was headed to their room for the night in anticipation of the semis and finals. Mac was in his room, pondering the knowledge he had that Bowser was the one making the problems. He knew what he had to do tomorrow, so, with the fatigue wearing in, Mac drifted off to sleep.
Sonic was in his room with Tails and Knuckles. Each one talking about their findings with no one having any proof of anybody causing the outage. Just as they were about to call it a night, Shadow entered the scene, "Sonic, I have to tell you something," he stated. Sonic just stared waiting for Shadow's findings. "I know who caused the outage. I was following Mac as he was investigating as well. I followed him to the trash room where we found the damaged panel from the outage. There were claw marks on the panel. Mac took a closer look and found a yellow reptile scale. With the size of the scratches and the yellow scale, we've got everything we need to make a claim that it was Bowser who sabotaged the power. For what, I don't know. Did you find anything," Shadow asked. Everyone was not surprised to know that Bowser was behind the outage. Sonic told Shadow that they didn't find anything "Well, Shadow, I think you need to infiltrate the base tomorrow while the fighting is going on. Then, and only then, after you find out everything, will we put a stop to Ganondork and crew. Everyone get some sleep. Tomorrow, we put an end to the terror of Ganondorf," Sonic ordered. They all nodded and went to sleep.
Meanwhile…
"Your army is ready. The suit is ready. I have Bowser transporting the suit to the box now. By this time tomorrow, we will be in control of the Mansion, you will have an unstoppable army, the multiverse will be ours to command," stated Eggman. Ganondorf smiled at the finding of the completion of the goal. "Tomorrow, we will all enter the arena as heroes. We shall end the day being the villain we are known to be. Go to rest knowing we will be conquerors," gloated the wizard. After they all left. Ganondorf stated to pool his energy so that he was ready for the fight he had to have with a certain blue hedgehog. Tomorrow would be the last day of Sonic the Hedgehog.
The next day…
Everyone was entering the arena in expectation of the fights that would be taking place. No one aware of an army that was being prepped for the battle ahead of the day. No one knew of the power suit that had been shuffled into the Champs box that was going to be used for the takeover of the mansion.
Sonic was in the locker room. He was warming up for the fight he had to do with one friend he had feelings for. He had spent the time knowing that today would be the day that Ganondorf woud be going down. He just sat there waiting for his name to be called.
Lucina was in the locker room warming up for her upcoming match she would be doing with Sonic. She knew there would be a mixture of emotions as she went into this fight. There was nothing she could do, but she was ready.
Mac was sitting in the stands, partly to watch the semis and finals, partly to do a stakeout. He could care less about what happened in the fights, he knew what he had to do with a certain Koopa King. As he saw Zelda and Bowser sitting in the stands, he knew the show was about to begin.
Back at the mansion, Shadow had waited for everyone else to leave. Once they had departed, he made his way to the secret base entrance. He charged at the door busting it down. No alarm sounded after the destruction. He started to enter the base, not knowing what horrors awaited.
Later…
The announcer had gone ahead and jazzed up the crowd. Everyone was excited to the utter extreme, the time had come for the semifinals to begin. The first match had started between Megaman and Ganondorf. The blue bomber put up a good fight, but Ganondorf was prepped and had downed him quickly. He now waited in the wings of who would be fighting him in the finals. The crowd was no ready for the next match.
Back in the locker room, Sonic got up and made his way to the entrance, he was ready for to go to battle. He was not ready to be battling the woman who stole his heart who now stood with his arch nemesis. He walked out of the locker room and walked out to the arena.
Lucina walked to her entrance, her heart straining for the emotional battle ahead of her. She knew that she wanted to win, but she didn't know how to do it. She walked to the entrance and walked out into the arena.
Ganondorf now stood in the champs box. He looked over at the power suit that sat next to him. He was anticipating a hard match coming up between his two rivals. All he could do was just smile. No matter who wins, I will be the one to conquer this tournament.
