History of Hisana

Disclaimer : I do not own anything in this story. Entertainment purposes only.

A/N: in support for my other stories: Game of Life, and Byaruki thoughts.

A/N: I admit that I am so mean at Hisana, but I do not totally dislike her as a person… I just hate what she did… that she abandoned her baby sister to save herself. I plainly felt revolted at that. No forgiveness whatsoever.

But as a person… removing that one terrible sin she did as the eldest sister… I pity her. She's a nice person, and had repented her sin. People makes mistake…. Terrible mistakes… and when they regretted and atone for their sins… we as a fellow human being should forgive.

Because we all makes mistake. We are flawed beings. And we also need forgiveness from the ones we had hurt intentionally, or not.

That's why, I think that Rukia's character was the best… because she was able to forgive, the sister who had abandoned her as a baby.

Though, I will never forgive myself, if I was Hisana. Which I will never want to be her, despite her being a Cinderella version of bleach. Nah. Never. I'd rather die.

Even reading/hearing her name, makes me cringe. Ugh. But I have no choice, because her story is vital to the plot. Whenever I read fanfiction, her name was a red flag for me. Well, except for Rukia's daughter 'hisana' who was very adorable in one of the fanfic I had read.

A/N: I apologize to Hisana, ByaHisa fans out there. These are my personal feelings projected into her. Because if there is one thing, I hope I will never have to do… is abandon my siblings, helplessly. That's why, I had planned everything I could and invested my resources, in order to protect them. When the time comes, that I would have to go. Either when I die or get married.

Hisana

Hundreds of years ago in the world of the living, a baby girl was born to the house of lemochi from the Shogun's concubine.

The baby girl was then named, Hisana, which means princess of the cherry blossom. A token, for Oyuri's fascination with the many Sakura trees inside the castle.

As the 1st born of the shogun, the girl was adored by the court, though somehow, the clan was a bit disappointed that Iemochi hasn't begotten a son.

And as the young princess grow, she was taken under the tutelage of Princess Kazu, the Emperor's sister, and the Shogun's wife.

Thus, being the only child of the Shogun, Atsuhime, Iemochi's adoptive mother, decided that the shogun must take another concubine.

This broke Princess Kazu's heart, to see her husband take another woman once more, but in the end, she relented, respecting Tenshoin's wise advice.

By then, the Shogun took Ohina as his concubine. A girl, specifically selected by Tenshoin among her niece.

Not long, Ohina got pregnant, and thus everyone in the court celebrated, anticipating for the much needed son, to continue the Shogun's lineage.

But then.

Ohina gave birth to a very healthy baby girl.

Disappointment enveloped the room, as Ohina was at the verge of crying. Especially since, her husband was eagerly awaiting the news of a heir.

At this point, Atsuhime decided to take the baby in her arms. And when she held her, she knew that the baby is destined for greatness.

Thus she calmed the people in the court, and instructed them to keep supporting the Shogun. Especially now that he was on a quest under the Emperor's command to destroy the rebels.

And when the Shogun returned, he cradled his daughter lovingly. By then he had decided to celebrate her birth. And also to announce that he would be adopting a son.

Watching everything unfold, the young sickly princess sat in the sideline, demure and doll like.

As a girl, she was very talented in the noble arts, especially since the royal princess, personally tutors her.

While on the other hand, the new born girl was being taken cared of by Atsuhime along with the Shogun's adopted son, Iesato.

.

.

And then the terrible incident happen.

The castle was attacked by the rebels, killing everyone inside. And burned the castle to the ground.

The Shogun died, along with her daughters and concubines.

.

.

.

That night, Hisana was tucked into bed by her mother, beside her step-sister. Because of some reason, she wasn't old enough to hear.

Though she's in her early teens, and very sheltered, somehow she knew that something bad was going to happen.

Especially since her aunt Princess Kazu and grandmother, Atsuhime were not home yet, from their trip to the imperial palace.

And that their father, the Shogun looked uneasy during their meal.

But as a child, she decided to just shrugged it off. Because she believed that everything will be fine soon, and that tomorrow will be just as good as yesterday, since Kazuhime, and Atsuhime will arrive by then.

And thus she went to sleep, beside her baby sister.

But then, she heard a desperate shouting, and noticed the smoke coming into their room. And then her aunt Ohina barged inside the room, and instructed her to run.

To stay alive no matter what.

Though confused and fearful, the young princess runaway as far as she could with her servants and guards.

By then, one by one, everyone started dropping dead, and the young princess desperately run for her life.

But suddenly she was knocked down to the wooden floor, she then noticed that her aunt had fallen to the ground, clutching her baby sister and her.

Because Ohina used her body to shield her step daughter from getting killed.

The woman cried in agony, as she called for the young princess.

Hisana trembled in fear, by now understanding that everyone in the castle had probably been killed along with her parents.

She could no longer move her body, suddenly Ohina shook her, to get her sanity back.

"Please protect your baby sister. And hide by that corner" Ohina instructed her step daughter towards the secret compartment of the room.

Thus Hisana took the baby, and hid inside the cabinet which was disguised as a wall painting.

Praying that, somehow everything would be back to normal. And that this horrible event is just a bad dream. A really bad nightmare.

Then everything was on fire. Hisana fell unconscious due to the smoke, and was trapped in the compartment along with her baby sister.

One thing in her mind.

She still wants to live. So that she could meet her prince one day, and live happily ever after.

.

.

.

Hisana woke up due to the sunlight hitting her face, and a baby's desperate cries.

And discovered something unbelievable.

She is alive!

She was so happy, that she smiled. But her happiness was cut short when she learned that she had died, and that this place was the soul society.

A place were souls that died in the world of the living, which were sent by the Shinigamis.

Ah… shinigami.

As a dead soul, someone had appeared in front of her and performed something.

.

.

Later Hisana decided to look for her parents. But sadly, she never found them, and will never be able to, since this is the world of the souls. It's impossible.

Day after day, Hisana found herself weakened, though she had very little riatsu, the baby has enormous amount of energy inside her that it was sucking her own energy, making her weak and hungry.

For weeks, she had endured, and tried her best to feed the baby, but it was hopeless. The baby was hungry all the time, and was making her weaker by the day.

After living in Rukongai, her life had become hell. A life she was never exposed to.

She was dying.

Thus she had come to conclusion that it's either she leave the baby, or else the both of them would die.

But her will to live, trumps her concern for her sister.

Thus she chose the former.

She left the baby in the woods. Cutting off all the empathy she had for her sister.

She run away, and left the baby by the Kuchiki tree [rotting tree].

.

.

For days, her guilt haunted her, making her unable to sleep at night.

Though now, she does not feel sucked and hungry, unlike before.

And as agonizing as it is, she erased the baby from her conscience and decided to live her life. By then, she had met her lover, Daisuke. The one who saved her from her self destruction.

Daisuke was a leader of a bandit over looking establishments and business in Rukongai's 89th district. They met at the brothel were she was working in, as a Shirabyoshi, an entertainer.

Since then, they had become lovers.

Everything was going well, up until Daisuke somehow lost his mind, over his jealousy.

By then, he started to hurt Hisana physically, but her devotion to him was so great that she had endured everything. And hoped that the old him would return.

But then, he started to guilt trip her. To remind her of her sin.

And that shook Hisana.

Because for the first time, since she had decided to erase her step sister's memories in her mind. She realized the gravity of her sin.

It almost killed her inside.

How could she?

How could she have done that to her baby sister.

Thus not long after, she decided to run away from her lover, to find her sister. Though she knew it to be impossible, but she should not give up.

Not when Ohina's memory haunted her.

Please protect your baby sister.

.

.

After running away from this place, a hundred years ago. She's back, to look for her infant sister she abandoned.

A mission that's beyond impossible.

Though she would not give up. For she must at least repent her sin.

And thus to earn her living, she worked at one of the food establishments in 72nd district, while looking for her sister during her free time.

Then she met her knight in shining armor. A prince, by the name of Kuchiki Byakuya.

Though, he seemed to have mistaken her for someone, in the end, the dashing man offered to court her. And they had become lovers.

Then one day, Daisuke arrived at the restaurant she was working in, and make a scene. Trying to take her away.

Luckily, Byakuya arrived and yet…

Unfortunately, Daisuke was killed by Byakuya as what she was told by her employer.

Though she was grateful to Byakuya, but something in her died, when Daisuke died. Because somehow, she still loves him.

Not long, Byakuya proposed to her.

Though she was reluctant, feeling a little bit anxious, especially since she knew that the Kuchiki clan members doesn't like her.

More like they hated her.

Evident of the many failed death threats she had received from anonymous sender.

But Byakuya was relentless, and determined. In the end, she had agreed.

Their marriage was quite an event in Seiretie, the most privileged district in the entire soul society.

It was like a dream.

She had almost believed that she was dreaming. Being married to a real prince and destined to live a long happy life.

Supposed to be.

Though Byakuya loved her unconditionally, she had felt suffocated. For he was so protective of her.

But thankfully, he had allowed her to visit Rukongai from time to time, despite her illness getting worse day by day.

Maybe, it was his way to repay the time he was supposed to be beside her.

Because now, his duties devoured all of his time and energy.

And the fact that she was unable to bore him a child, had also secretly crushed her inside.

For this must be her punishment for leaving her helpless baby sister behind. A sin, she had never told him, along with many secrets she had hid from him.

The fact that the noble's snide remarks hurts her, more than their silent disapproval.

Though they praised her dancing and skills on every noble arts.

.

.

.

5 years had gone by, but still her search for her missing sister was still fruitless, despite the money and efforts she had poured into it. Evident by the piles of journals she had written about her search and findings.

And now, she can no longer move.

Her illness is killing her, and despite Byakuya's massive wealth, was of no help.

She's dying. And she knows that he also knows.

And as she lied on her bed, her hand carefully clutched into Byakuya's.

"I am sorry if it seemed as if I was taking advantage of your kindness. The love that you, Byakuya-sama, bestowed upon me, I am unable to requite…for that, I am sorry. These past five years that I and you have spent together have truly been a dream for me, Byakuya-sama."

Her last words. Her repentance for a sin, she regretted ever committing.

The end.
