Chapter 8: First Day in a New Dimension
Purpledolpin05: Hey there fellow readers, it's Anonymousette and purpledolpin05 back with another chapter. Sorry for the delayed update, life has been keeping us busy.
Anonymousette: Work and college REALLY get in the way of fanfiction. But, we were finally able to get this chapter out!
Purpledolpin05: Tania, would you mind doing the disclaimer please?
Tania: Fine by me. Anonymousette and purpledolpin05 do not own Disney Channel or any of the characters, they only own their original characters and stories.
Previously in "The Lost Siblings"
On their first attempt at dimension travelling, Mal, Evie, Jay, Carlos, and Molly ended up in an alternate version of Auradon, where some of the residents look exactly like them. While they were there, they discovered that Tania and Dude had snuck along by climbing inside one of their duffle bags.
After a series of shenanigans, the group settled down in one of the dorms for the night.
After a much needed good nights' sleep, it was morning.
King Oliver Diaz stood outside the guests' bedroom as he knocked on the door.
"Good morning," Oliver greeted the guests with a smile, only to be responded with a very gloomy and outraged Tania.
"We need to talk about that horrible movie!" Tania demanded, catching the young King by surprise.
"Uh what horrible movie?" King Oliver questioned. Oh gods, he hoped that nobody actually snuck some adult rated movies into the guest dorm room.
"She's upset that she wasn't in this movie," Molly Facilier said as she held up a DVD cover of 'Disney Descendants' up for the young King to see.
The young king was puzzled by the young girl's outburst but tried to calm her down. "Well, we didn't know you existed."
"As if that is supposed to make me feel better!" Tania exclaimed dramatically as she threw her hands into the air.
"So after finding out what happened to me and my friends, some big time movie producer called Kenny Ortega wanted to make a movie that is based on my friends and I," Skylar Storm explained to the Dimension Travellers.
The movie is supposed to be based on the Villainous Five's experience of coming to Auradon and eventually became good, some of the plots were changed and rewritten though, but it was a great movie. Their classmate Liv Rooney got a starring role as Mal, and their classmate Luke Ross was also in the movie as one of the stunt doubles for Carlos's character.
"Oh yeah, we saw that movie last year. They also got that one actor that looked like Roman to play as Jay," Bree Vickers nodded, remembering when the school went to the movie screening
"It's breakfast time." Adam Davenport said as he tried to soothe the situation with a big smile.
Molly felt a rumble in her stomach as she commented, "Good. I'm starving!"
"You'll love the food Mrs. Potts makes. She is one of the best cooks here," Sakura piped in.
"We have Mrs. Potts from where we're from too." Mal commented, noticing the similarities.
"Cool!" A new stranger grinned. He was tall with dark skin and black hair, and looked very familiar to Tania.
"Taylor! What are you doing here?!" Tania exclaimed, before hugging the stranger.
"Um, I'm not Taylor. She is. And a total snot too." The stranger boy explained, pointing over at a girl behind him (Taylor Maldonia, eldest daughter of Tiana and Naveen).
"Rude!" Taylor Maldonia hissed over, as both teens glared at one another. Leo Dooley and Taylor Maldonia had a rivalry since middle school and had a frenemy relationship since.
"Tania, this is our friend Leo," Sakura introduced, "He is the son of Fairy Godmother and Donald Davenport (a famous inventor and one of Merlin's nephews)."
Carlos raised his eyebrows at the surprise that in this realm: Fairy Godmother has a son instead of a daughter. Does this mean that Chase and Leo are supposed to be a couple?
"Wait, Jane is a guy in this dimension? I never expect my alternate self to be interested in guys. I mean I am not judging," Carlos muttered under his tone.
"Who's Jane?" Bree Vickers asked.
"Jane is Carlos's girlfriend in our dimension, and she is also the daughter of our Fairy Godmother," Evie explained, showing their alternate Auradon folks a picture of Carlos and Jane.
"Aww, she's cute." Skylar Storm smiled.
"Ah, I can understand why he was confused about Leo," Sakura nodded, while the rest of her friends chuckled at the thought of Leo and Chase as a couple.
"Um...No. I'm not dating Leo. We're friends and I am straight." Chase Perry cleared his throat as he clarified.
Chase and Leo are more like brother figures than lovers, although the thought of them as a couple was enough to make the half-fairy and bionic shudder in disgust.
Tania, however, didn't quite understand why the older teens were chuckling or snickering.
"What the heck are you guys talking about?" Tania questioned.
"Um well, since Chase is like this dimension's version of me, and Leo is Fairy Godmother's kid here. I thought that Chase and Leo are a couple like how Jane and I are," Carlos explained.
Sakura patted Carlos's shoulder before shrugging, "It's all just a beautiful misunderstanding. But hurry up, we're having pancakes for breakfast!"
"You had me at pancakes!" Tania immediately cheered up at the mention of food.
"C'mon, it's down the hall from here." Oliver began to start walking towards the Castle-teria, as the Dimension Travelers followed behind.
"So uh, was the room ok to your liking?" the young king cleared his throat and asked.
"It was alright." Molly responded with a half-shrug. Anything was better than the cell she called a 'room' growing up.
"I'm still surprised how you cast someone who looks just like me for that movie." Jay commented, remembering the movie they watched last night.
"Well our friend Liv knows a lot of actors from the showbiz industry." Chase Perry responded, "And we didn't even know another dimension where you guys are our alternate selves."
"Here we are, the Castle-teria." Skylar introduced their new guests to Auradon Prep's castle-teria.
"I remember our first day here. We all got thrown tomatoes at." Sakura grinned a bit at the memory. "Most of the Auradon folks here did NOT like the idea of VKs over."
"Well, there certainly are a lot more food fights here than where we're from." Mal blinked as she opened the door, only to dodge a thrown mud pie.
"You can say that again, M." Evie blinked, as they all peeked inwards carefully.
Unfortunately for Auradon Prep, it was Mid-Air Food Fight day to start the morning. It didn't really help much since half the students here have either Bionic powers or were naturally born with superpowers.
"JACKIE! CHLOE! PUT DOWN THAT CHAIR!" Tracy Li yelled over, before groaning. She doesn't get paid enough for babysitting the Emperor's grandchildren.
"NEVER!" Jackie claimed loudly as he flew up towards the ceiling with his Bionic abilities.
"Can I have whatever they've been eating if it means I get to fly like that?" Tania tugged Mal's arm as she pointed at Jackie and Chloe who were levitating mid-air.
Mal took a swift glance at Tania, and then towards the young siblings hanging upside down from the ceiling like a couple of bats. "No."
Just then, Tracy Li turned over and noticed them. "KIDS, GET DOWN, WE HAVE GUESTS!"
When Jackie and Chloe got down from the ceiling, she turned towards the group. "Sorry about that, Jackie had too much sugar frosted cornflakes and now he's hyperactive. Chloe just likes to mimic what her brother is doing."
Tania looked at Jackie and Chloe in admiration. "NOW can I have those sugar frosted flying-off-the-walls cornflakes?" It wasn't easy for the young Maldonian princess to make friends back in her Auradon given her personality and mischievous behavior, but it was nice to meet someone similar to her.
"NO!" Everyone yelled. The last thing they needed was a hyperactive Tania that was in cahoots with Jackie and Chloe.
Tania pouted, crossed her arms and sat down. "You guys are no fun!"
Jackie imitated Tania's pout. "You guys are no fun!"
Then, he sat down next to Tania with a smirk on his face. "Hi, wanna throw mud pies at the Charming brothers?"
"Sure!" Tania grinned, getting up on her feet and following the two siblings.
Jones just shrugged. "Eh when the kids are hyperactive, there is no stopping them."
The teens watched as the new misfit trio had run off to prank a few older teenagers sitting at another table.
"You guys have a 'Chad Charming' here too?" Evie asked.
"Oh yeah, here Cinderella and her husband have a lot of sons, but only the third brother is a good guy," Bree said. "The other two are Ethan whom I used to date; and Clayton is the rude and snobby one."
Jamie overheard them talking about the Charming brothers and sat across them. "Ugh you forgot the Charming cousins too! That Axel guy is so annoying! And his big brother Sabastian is a sexist pig!"
Molly cringed. "Yikes." Those guys sounded worse than Queen Leah.
"It sure sounds like the Chad we know from our dimension, except for that only nice brother part." Jay nodded. He did not recall if Chad had any siblings.
"Yeah while you guys are here, try to avoid telling other people you're from another dimension because these people already have enough existential crises after we all took the philosophy seminar talk last week," Tracy said, motioning to a tween named Bob who seems to be having an existential crisis monologue by the corner of another table.
"Yeah... that seminar kinda broke some of our friends for a while," Jones said as he looked at Bob.
Molly nodded. "Got it."
Meanwhile, Carlos waved over to a boy who looked a lot like Jay. "Hey Jay, we're over here, you don't have to sit so far away!"
"Carlos, I'm sitting right next to you!" Jay pointed out, frowning.
Carlos scrunched his eyebrows in confusion. "Then who did I just wave to?"
"Carson Hunter, he's a student from our rival school Kinkow Academy," Jones answered, before giving his older sister a teasing smirk. "He's skilled in martial arts, but he's a better liar and cheater too."
Jay's jaw dropped. "Wow... he looks like me! Only with shorter hair."
"If you think he looks like you, you haven't met his cousin Kai," Chase said, remembering the surfing prodigy from Kinkow Academy.
"Or that shy, autistic transfer student (Nick Young from "The White Frog") from Wonderland Academy a few years back." King Oliver mused a bit.
"Or Roman," Jones quipped, before his sister punched his shoulder lightly.
"Wow Jay, you sure have a lot of doppelgangers here," Mal said.
Just then, a girl who looked almost exactly like Mal waved over from another table, and coincidentally the girl's table was seated with a few girls who resembled Mal. "Morning guys!"
Bree waved back. "Hey Liv, hi Maddie. And Kayla."
Carlos couldn't help but laugh. "You were saying, M?"
Mal raised an eyebrow. "Really? What about your doppelgangers?"
Just then, a boy that looked a lot like Carlos, except with darker hair, walked by. He spotted Carlos and Mal at the table. "Jones, is this another one of your 3D clone pranks?"
"It is, but an ILLUSION!" another lookalike with messy long black hair (Kraghh from Liv and Maddie) declared loudly.
"Good gravy, Jones! Not another clone prank!" One boy named Connor (from Gamer's Guide to Pretty Much Everything) groaned at Jones.
"That was ONE time, guys. And it was that failed cloning experiment I found Connie dumped." Jones exclaimed, motioning to Kraggh's girlfriend Connie Thompson (aka Creepy Connie). Apparently, all Luke Ross ever needed to get rid of Connie was by introducing her to Kraghh, the Rooney's cousin who is a self-proclaimed magician.
"You guys had a failed cloning experiment?" Carlos turned to look at Jones.
"A couple of months back, one of my classmates, Olive Doyle, was multitasking and had a bunch of projects due so she cloned herself to get the jobs done while also getting some time off for herself on Halloween." Jones Li explained. The cloning mishap also led to a disastrous clone war among the student body.
"And somehow, the rest of us ended up getting cloned as well." Luke Ross added.
"It was a very chaotic Halloween. Even Adam got cloned, and Chase had to invent a zapping machine to get rid of the clones. But overall, it was hilarious to prank others with the clones. Bob got possessed briefly but we are not talking about that." Jamie nodded, smiling at the Halloween prank gone wrong.
"You guys had a clone war?" Evie was still digesting the information.
"You don't have any one of those from where you're from?" Bree questioned, noticing the reaction their guests have.
"Nope. Thankfully." Mal shook her head, somewhat glad their Auradon is less chaotic than this version of Auradon.
"Well, it should be happening because it'd be funny." Tania spoke out, before biting into a slice of sandwich offered by Chloe.
"No, it would not." Molly frowned, shuddering uncomfortably at the idea of Tania initiating a Clone War just to prank Chad and Audrey back in their Auradon.
After eating, the alternate Auradon students started engaging in a conversation with their guests.
"So what is your version of Auradon like?" Jones Li asked. "Is it dangerous?"
Evie shrugged. "Not really, except on a few occasions."
"So it sounds pretty much the same for here as well," Sakura said before smirking. "Have any of you had a garden snake set on your hair during Tourney practice before?"
Carlos's eyes widened. "No... Why would anyone do that?!"
"As a prank, obviously." Sakura responded, looking at Spin and Jamie.
Tanie took out a notebook she brought along and started to jot down some new prank ideas.
"Okay…" Molly said as she glanced over at Tania. Even though Tania was technically an AK, Molly could still mistake her for a VK.
"So, how 'magical' are you guys?" Chase asked, using air quotes at the word 'magical'.
"Mal can turn into a dragon," Carlos pointed out.
"Impossible, I need more proof!" Chase exclaimed.
"Then why don't we step outside?" Mal declared, motioning towards the door.
"This will not end well…" Bree Vickers shook his head.
Whenever Chase becomes determined to prove something with 'science' and 'logic', he tends to go through extreme means to prove his point.
"If you want to blow something up, please take it out to the parking lot outside." King Oliver stood up, before telling their new guests, "This is not the first time someone tried to do something extravagant and it ended up in a boom."
"Remember back in 2013 when the Rooney cousins Helga and Kraghh joined the school's talent show, wound up blowing up the lightbulbs, and also started a fire?" Tracy Li recalled, as the alternate Auradon teens shuddered at the memory.
"I think someone still needs to catch up on the research." Carlos offered, "I'll tag along you to the library for some research, Tracy."
"No, I'll go instead, Carlos. You can go help out Evie and Mal." Jay suddenly intervened.
"That sounds like a good idea! You and Trace can get to know each other." Bree Vickers agreed.
"Excuse me for a sec," Tracy Li yanked her friends aside to talk to her. "Are you kidding me, Bree? I don't think I can be around him!"
"Is it because he looks just like Roman?" Skylar asked.
"And Kai, and Carson, and Nick. I'm seeing a pattern, sis." Jones teased his sister, "Besides, just because it didn't work out with Roman, doesn't mean it's the end of the world."
"Your brother's got a point," Adam piped in.
"Where did you guys even come from?" Tracy frowned, before assuring, "Look, I am not going to like Jay, he seems like the type of guy who flirts around a lot, and I just don't want to get heartbroken again if I get too close to him."
"You'd never know though." Bree winked over.
"Ok, I know you guys mean well but now I just wanna focus on the library research." Tracy stood up before looking over her shoulder. "C'mon Muscle-head, let's get going."
Jay grimaced at the nickname.
"Hey, if you hurt my sister, she can and will break every bone in your body." Jones warned.
"Duly noted." Jay nodded, swallowing a gulp.
"You're joking, right?" Carlos asked the younger Li sibling.
"Nope." Jones shook his head.
"There's a good reason why I'm still single." Tracy Li joked, before ushering Jay to follow her, "Hurry up, Hairball, the library opens up in another 10 minutes."
"So what are you gonna do in the meantime, Molly?" Carlos asked.
"Yes?" Molly (Eastman) Faciliar responded when Carlos called her name.
"Ack, sorry, wrong Molly." Carlos apologized.
"Sakura is gonna teach me some voodoo tips." Molly motioned to Sakura waving a hand over.
"Just try not to torment someone too much," Skylar advised.
"You think those voodoo dolls will work on Audrey from here?" Tania asked.
Sakura shrugged. "If you have a piece of her hair."
Tania pulled a piece of hair from her shirt pocket. "Oh, I have one right here. Sometimes, I pluck her hair when she's not paying attention."
Molly nodded in approval. "I respect you."
"C'MON 'NIA!" Jackie shouted from the entrance. "We're going to the skate park and put rockets on the skateboard!"
"Ok!" Tania grinned, racing to join them.
"Should we follow them to make sure they don't get hurt?" Evie asked, concerned about the amount of damage the trio could do.
Oliver nodded. "Yeah I think that's a good idea."
"Or we should just follow them," Bree said. "We'll get to see Chase run tests on Mal for her magic theory, and we get to keep an eye on the most destructive future emperor of China."
Tania's eyes widened. "You're the next emperor of China?!"
"That's me, don't wear it out," Jackie said as he pointed at himself with a big grin.
"Sweet!" Tania said. "I'm not even close to next in line!"
Mal nodded at Bree "Sounds alright to me."
"Yeah, what could go wrong?" Molly asked.
Meanwhile, Jay and Tracy were going through all the books in the library
"So are you gonna look at me or you're just gonna avoid eye contact the whole time?" Jay asked out loud.
"Does it matter?" Tracy responded, as she kept going through shelves of books. "We're here for research purposes."
"I only agreed to help out with the reading materials because you guys would need some basic information about what you'll be walking into." She added before she handed Jay some books. "Hold 'em."
"Okay…" Jay said.
Tracy took a pile of books for herself. "Ok that should be enough book materials to go with."
Jay's eyes widened. "You took at least 2 dozen books!"
Tracy smirked. "Clearly you have not seen my library membership card."
"Technically, we met just yesterday," Jay pointed out.
"Point taken, but anyways we should start reading first," Tracy responded, placing her books onto a vacant table.
"And I thought the point of being on a gap year from college is just to avoid studying again…" Jay muttered under his breath.
"Nope, you study regardless." Tracy took a seat opposite of Jay, "A person is a learner for life, Man-punzel."
"Darn" Jay sighed out as Tracy giggled a bit, before he asked out loud, "Do you really have to call me that nickname?"
"I specialize in giving people nicknames. Just ask anyone at this school." Tracy shrugged, before someone interrupted.
"That does explain why you gave Tripp his nickname and tagline back in middle school." a pretty blonde girl spoke out.
"Ok, who is this person?" Jay asked out loud.
"That's Sabrina Fitzherbert from Corona Kingdom. She is also Chase's girlfriend." Tracy gave Jay a brief introduction to the new stranger.
"And who is Tripp?" Jay questioned. What kind of person would name themselves 'Tripp'?
"He's an old classmate from school and he can be annoying sometimes." Sabrina responded, before smiling, "Aww, it looks like you and Roman finally made up, huh?"
"No I am not Roman." Jay frowned, before asking Tracy, "How many doppelgangers does this school even have?"
"A lot." Tracy and Sabrina responded simultaneously.
"Well it looks like you're busy so I'll just leave you two on your own, Trace." Sabrina decided to excuse herself and leave.
"Ok back to reading." Tracy turned to concentrate on the reading materials they had gathered.
"These books are like 700 pages each." Jay pointed out.
"Yeah, the lightest books you can find here usually have 400 pages." Tracy added.
"Seriously?" Jay exclaimed before everyone else at the library shushed over.
Tracy sighed, before grumbling under her breath, "I should have asked for Carlos's help. Or Evie's. Because I got stuck with the 'muscles-for-brains' one of the team."
"I can be pretty smart!" Jay protested in a defensive tone.
"Really? Give me one example where you can be smart." Tracy raises an eyebrow at him.
"Well... Uh…" Jay said before he remembered something. "I got a girl on the ROAR team."
"What's a ROAR team?" Tracy asked, "Is it an animal impressions club?"
"No, it's a club that combines parkour and fencing. It's one of the national sports for where I'm from." Jay explained.
"Oh, I get it. We have a team like that here as well, except it's called the BRIDGES because our former King Horace is an actual fan of bridges, and his wife named Bridgette," Tracy nodded slowly, before questioning, "Wait, how and why was there only one girl on the fencing team?"
"There wasn't," Jay said. "It was all men before that."
"Wow, that is so sexist!" Tracy exclaimed, her face scrunching up in disgust.
"What about you?" Jay asked. "Do you have a fencing team here with girls?"
Tracy nodded. "Yup, we have our own girls fencing team. This could be because when me and my friends formed the team, we all changed towards the principal's office holding swords and weapons. So they couldn't say no to us. It's not easy to bend the rules but I guess that was a smart thing to do."
"Wow…" Jay said. "Your Auradon's a lot more progressive than the one where I'm from."
Tracy merely shrugged. "It could be because some of the girls here are aggressive. Besides, if anything my mom taught me sometimes you need to take a stand for yourself and don't let gender roles bother you."
"Cool," Jay said.
"Anyways, we should get back to researching," Tracy spoke, as she turned back to her books. "I'd like to be as prepared and knowledgeable as possible so I can help you guys out with travelling."
Jay sighed. "I guess... but 400 pages, really?!"
"Half of these books were written by some of the professors teaching in Auradon University, like Leo's dad, Mr. Donald Davenport, and the school psychologist, Mr. Neil Cortex (NeoCortex)," Tracy explained, listing off her fingers.
"Since the books were written by people you've met, wouldn't it be easier to just find your teachers and ask them about the topic?" Jay responded, before motioning to the pile of books on their table, "And who has the time to write a 400 page book?!"
"SHH!" Everyone else at the library shushed Jay.
"Sorry." Jay whispered out an apology, before he turned his gaze to continue reading one of the books.
"Next time, try to keep it down or I will have you both out of the premises." the librarian gave a final warning, before she walked away.
Tracy giggled quietly. "Man, that face you made when you found out the book is 400 pages long was hilarious."
Jay sighed. "Seriously?"
"Let's start researching," Tracy said as she opened a book. "Hopefully we can find some useful information."
Jay rubbed his forehead. "All these books use big words that I can barely understand."
"I thought you said you were smart," Tracy said with a smirk.
"Smart can come in different forms, o' Feisty one," Jay teased back.
"Ok fine, maybe you're not the book smart one," Tracy turned her gaze back to the book.
The librarian glared at them. "I already gave you two warnings. I suggest you should just borrow the books and get out of my library!"
"Sorry," Jay whispered an apology.
"Oh sorry ma'am," Tracy said. "Would it be alright if I borrow these books?"
"Done, just get out of here before you two little lovebirds start to snog under the tables!" The librarian snarled at the two teens.
"But we're not-" Tracy and Jay said before the librarian interrupted them.
"Just go!" The Librarian said as she pointed towards the door.
Tracy sighed. "Ok, fine."
After walking out of the library, Jay turned to Tracy. "Is she always that mean and strict?"
Tracy just shrugged. "The librarian lady used to be the same matchmaker lady who told my mom she'd never get married. Guess that explains why she has it out for me."
"Wow…" Jay blinked.
"She basically dislikes me because my brother and I accidentally got her fired from her previous job and blew up her office during an inspection check," Tracy said, feigning innocence.
Jay's eyes widened. "How did that happen?"
"Well, long story short, my brother and I along with our peers all disliked her and decided to trash her office on the day she was applying for Vice Principal. By accident." Tracy explained.
Jay could not decide if he was impressed by Tracy or somewhat scared of what she could be capable of.
After ten minutes, the two teens had borrowed a couple of books (with Jay grumbling about the weight of the books) about dimension travelling and made a rush towards the library exit to avoid running into Madam Mai again.
Unfortunately, the fact that Jay looks nearly identical to Roman has led a few of Tracy's friends (and the schoolmates) to mistake Jay for 'Roman' and assume that 'Rocy is finally official'.
It took a while for Jay and Tracy to run off from prying eyes and find a quiet classroom to continue their revision. It wasn't that bad though...until once Tracy went on her social media and found out people are assuming she is now dating her crush.
"What would Roman actually think of me now?" Tracy dreaded, pushing her phone away from her, "He'd think I'm a desperate girl…"
"What does this Roman guy have that I don't?!" Jay wondered out loud.
"A lot," Tracy hissed.
By the way Tracy snapped at him, Jay could tell that something had happened between her and Roman. Then, he remembered what Jones mentioned the day before.
"This guy broke your heart, didn't he?" Jay asked in a soft tone.
"Into a billion pieces." Tracy's eyes watered a bit as she sniffled.
"Wow... I'm sorry, that must be rough." Jay apologized, feeling rather awkward that he and Tracy were in the same boat of being heartbroken.
It probably made her feel even more uncomfortable since Jay looked exactly like the guy who broke her heart.
"It wasn't his fault entirely though, he got his heart broken before and hasn't believed in love since." Tracy fiddled with her thumbs, "I really thought that maybe he could notice me as more than a classmate when we agreed to go to the Neon Lights Ball as dates. But it just wasn't meant to be."
"I'm sorry to hear that, did he reject your feelings?" Jay asked.
Tracy shook her head. "I didn't have the chance to tell him how I felt, because I found out I never had a chance with him to begin with."
"I understand how you feel." Jay sighed.
Tracy raised an eyebrow at him, "You do? But I just assumed you're the type of guy who is a heartbreaker."
"Nah, I've gotten better control over my flirting habits over the years." Jay's tone grew defensive, before he shook his head, "But there was this one girl I genuinely cared about…"
"Oh, what happened to you and her?" Tracy asked, leaning forward to pay attention.
"Well, we started out as friends, but as time went on, I started to see her in a way I never did before," Jay explained.
"She was fierce, strong, but she also had a soft side to her. I took her to Cotillion, and that's when we started dating. It was great for a while, but somehow, it didn't feel right. We broke up, and have remained in the friend zone ever since." Jay continued telling Tracy Li about his ex, Lonnie.
"I'm sorry to hear that," Tracy apologized, before adding, "She sounds like an awesome girl. But maybe she isn't the right person for you? I've had my share of crushes on guys before most of them never seemed to work out."
"Eh maybe." Jay shrugged.
"Well, I hope you'll find someone for you someday." Tracy consoled, as Jay smiled lightly at her.
"Now, let's get back to the books." Tracy took out the books they got from the library.
"Seriously?!" Jay frowned. He did not go through that sharing session for her to remind him they have to study.
"Hey, I get heartbroken often too, but I don't neglect my studies and cry over someone." Tracy lightly smacked Jay's shoulder, before turning her attention to the books.
"Ugh…" Jay groaned in response, putting his head on the desk.
This is gonna take a while until they get half the book covered, isn't it?
Some time later, Jay started to check his phone.
"Ok, so our friends are waiting for us by the riverbank for some reason?" Jay checked the text he got from Carlos.
"Ah," Tracy nodded nonchalantly, "It must be 'Catapult the Human Bubble Across the Lake' day again."
Jay blinked at her reaction, before commenting, "Ok at this point, I am too tired to ask what sort of extreme sports you guys actually have here."
"C'mon, let's go find them." Tracy kept her belongings and started to scramble her way to the riverbank.
"Wait up!" Jay rushed after her.
Jackie and Chloe were some of the most destructive and hyperactive children in Auradon Prep.
What is the worst thing those two could do when they befriend Tania?
Meanwhile with the other Dimension Travellers
Tania and Jackie have been pulling crazy stunts and pranks for the duration of their second day in this Alternate Auradon. Apparently, it does not take long for three of the most mischievous young children in both Auradon universes to become instant best friends and pull a string of petty pranks and wild stunts as their first day of friendship. Which in everyone else's viewpoint, may have been a big mistake and the start of a chaotic friendship.
"That. Was. Awesome!" Jackie cheered after he, his sister, and Tania had pulled off a rocket skateboard experiment on the roof of Auradon Prep. Mal had to turn Dragon mode to rescue the three young kids from hurting themselves.
"Again! Again!" Tania bobbed her head in agreement.
"These kids are a lot more trouble than we thought." Evie rubbed the temple of her forehead, it was tiring to follow after the trio misfits all around Auradon for almost the entirety of the day.
"You're telling me." Molly Faciliar frowned, catching up with the trio misfits.
"How is it possible that you can turn into a dragon here?!" Chase demanded, trying to make sense of Mal's magical abilities. "Dragons don't exist!"
"Well, they do in our world." Molly corrected.
"Now that is offensive, Chase. I know a few dragons around and they will not be happy to hear that you don't believe in their existence." Jones Li frowned at Chase.
"But still." Chase grumbled, before asking Carlos, "What about you, parallel me? Are you 'magical' as well?"
"The only magic I can do is only talk to dogs." Carlos replied, before the two teens continued to talk about their shared passion for inventing and technology.
"Do any of you guys have magical powers too?" Bree Vickers asked their guests.
"I have magic, but not as powerful as Mal." Evie replied, before thinking out loud, "although we don't know about Jay…"
"I have voodoo and shadow magic." Molly added, raising a hand.
"And I, unfortunately, don't have any magic." Tania spoke last, sounding unhappy.
"Eh it's better to not have powers, that way you can be awesome at what you do." Jackie tries to console his new friend, before the duo proceed to trip an older teen.
"What is CYNTHIANA doing here?!" Tania demanded, pointing at the teen who strongly resembles Chad Charming.
"Who is Cynthiana?" Skylar asked.
"Chad Cynthiana Charming, he's the rich snobby prince and dated Evie in our world." Carlos explained, "his parents were hoping for a girl, hence the feminime middle name."
"That would be Tripp. He's one of our schoolmates." King Oliver replied, helping Tripp stand up.
"Woah the resemblance is uncanny." Mal blinked.
"Even his hair looks like Chad!" Evie nodded.
"He already disgusts me." Tania declared.
"Why? What has this Cynthiana guy done to wrong you?" Chloe asked.
"Well... it's a very sad and tragic backstory." Tania sighed dramatically.
Random Flashback
Back when Tania was a toddler, her family invited the other kingdoms to celebrate little Tania's 2 year old birthday. Unfortunately for Chad, he didn't have a present for the little child so he sang a song he heard from watching TV (Sonny with a Chance).
"Happy birthday, Tania. I didn't really get you a present but I got a song to sing for you." Chad (probably a 12 year old at the time) told King Naveen and Queen Tiana.
Chad began to strum his guitar and sing in a loud and slightly off-key voice.
"Tania, it's your birthday and it shouldn't be fair.
You deserve the best, the gift of Chad,
So come on everybody, let's sing along to Tania's awesome birthday song,
Chad, Chad, Chaddie, Chad, Chad,
Chad, Chad, Chaddie, Chad, Chad,
Chad, Chad, Chaddie, Chad, Chad."
"He is just singing about himself." Thomas pointed out, with his eyes widened and an obvious grossed out expression on his face.
"Well, it's the thought that counts." Naveen tried to soothe the situation with a smile, placing a hand around Thomas's shoulder.
"So what do you think? Does she like my song?" Chad turned to his classmate Taylor (who is Tania's oldest brother).
The toddler princess began to cry loudly and throw some cake at the prince.
"I'm gonna have to say no." Taylor responded with an amused smile, before he reached out to wipe the cream off Chad's face and taste it. "Ooh, cream cheese!"
"So, now you all know," Tania finished.
"Wow this Chad guy sounds delusional!" Chloe blinked.
"If she wants to be angry at anything, she should have just pranked Chad Dylan Cooper, he's the one who wrote the song." Bob pointed out.
"Where do we find this 'Chad' guy who is the main cause of my childhood trauma?" Tania eagerly asked.
"He's a theater major at Auradon University, since he was a former bigshot tween show actor." Chase Perry replied, before he realized he just set Tania and her new misfit friends to go prank after the former tween show actor.
"And there goes Tania." Evie blinked, before she followed after the young Maldonian princess, "I should go and check if she doesn't end up in a fight."
"In the meantime, I would like to run some more tests on you guys, to see how 'magical' you really are." Chase spoke out, taking out a notebook to scribble on.
Mal automatically assumed Chase was making advances on her and smacked him in the nose, "I HAVE A FIANCE!"
"I MEANT THAT AS A SCIENTIST, I AM NOT A CREEP!" Chase covered his nose and winced in pain.
"I think Chase meant he's gonna sample some of your DNA and observe the molecular structure of your genes as compared to some of our DNA genes." King Oliver explained to Mal.
"Oh. Sorry." Mal apologized for smacking Carlos's alternate counterpart in the face.
"Eh this isn't the first time Chase got whacked for attempting to conduct scientific experiments." Sakura shrugged.
"Yeah, Chase is a decent guy around people. Although I can't exactly say the same about his twin brother Spike. He's more of a sexist brute with a bad temper." Bree Vickers nodded.
"This alternate reality is just getting stranger and stranger." Molly thought. Apparently in this timeline, Carlos's counterpart has a sibling.
"Besides, I already have a girlfriend. I have absolutely no interest in hitting on you." Chase pointed out, as he continued explaining, "I have been recently intrigued by your paranormal DNA seeing you can transform into a dragon."
"I guess you could extract some of my DNA if you're that curious." Mal shrugged, before giving Chase a brief explanation about her dragon fairy side of the gene pool.
While all that is happening, Tania, Jackie and Chloe were busy pranking a few people on the other side of Auradon Prep campus, with Evie and Skylar chasing behind the young kids.
"Should someone stop them?" Carlos asked in a worried tone as he watched the young kids grabbing what looked like a pair of scissors.
"Evie and Skylar are already after them." Molly replied.
"Yeah it could have been worse. Like them finding out about the stash of hidden weapons we hid behind school lamps." Jones commented, looking through a pair of binoculars.
"You guys have secret weapons stashed all around your campus?" Mal asked, before wincing in pain as Chase abstracted some blood from her shoulder.
"I told you not to move around when I'm abstracting your DNA!" Chase grumbled.
"Is there anything this parallel universe has that ours doesn't?" Carlos asked out loud.
"Yup, your Auradon is certainly crazier than the one where we're from." Mal concluded.
"Oh you clearly have not seen the Town Hall Fire." a young boy named Spin chuckled to himself.
"It was lit." his friend Bob nodded.
Mal's eyes widened. "I don't even know how to respond... Does your school even have safety precautions for those types of scenarios?"
Just then, Evie and Skylar dragged Tania, Jackie, and Chloe towards the gang.
"These kids are destructive!" Evie groaned.
"We weren't that bad," Tania said with a smirk.
"You were about to chop off their heads!" Evie exclaimed.
"Nah we just wanna give them a Kinkowian haircut!" Chloe quipped in, garnering odd looks from the visitors.
"In Kinkow Island, there is a custom that fathers would shave the heads of guys who want to ask out their daughters," Jones explained to the VKs. "But it can also be a way to make new friends for the Kippi-Kippi kingdom."
"Well, next time if you wanna get even with your enemies, try voodoo dolls. They're a lot subtler." Molly suggested.
"That sounds like fun. I like violence." Jackie smiled.
"And I like dolls!" Chloe raised her hand.
"That's good news because my gir-FRIEND Sakura here is an expert on voodoo dolls." Adam grinned at Sakura, before correcting himself.
"Great, let's go then. I'll teach you everything you need to know." Sakura cheerfully offered, as Molly, Jackie, Chloe and even Tania followed her to the side.
"Those kids are gonna be a lot more trouble than I expected." Mal wearily said.
"Quick question, would it be ok if I get more samples of your DNAs?" Chase asked. "I need to run some tests about interdimensional paranormal DNA genetic differences."
"He's probably gonna write the next 400-page thesis for his graduation," Jones made a joke.
"And publish it in the library," Jenny added.
"Aww man," Bob groaned. "Basically Chase will be writing what we'll be reading in high school!"
"Don't you think you're going a bit overboard with the experiments, Chase?" Carlos asked. "Just accept that magic exists just as much as science and logic."
Chase shrugged. "What's so wrong with the scientific method?"
"EVERYTHING! I DON'T GET BIG WORDS!" Bob exclaimed
"I know you are curious and doing your job, but I think you're going a bit overboard," Evie said
"Yeah, you just saw me turn into a dragon," Mal added
"Just accept that magic exists and there are just some things you cannot explain with science and logic," Evie said.
"Yeah, once, E made our friend an outfit with chemicals that glows in the dark, there is no longer any logical reasoning," Mal said.
Carlos nodded. "That is true."
"We did one of those too, for our two classmates," Bree said
"Wow maybe this world isn't too different from our world, except with the more kids running around and you guys can be chaotic," Carlos said
Jackie smiled. "Thank you, I try."
"Okay…" Mal said. She was starting to worry that since Tania had made friends, Jackie and Chloe, it was going to be hard to convince her to leave.
"Honestly I am actually worried Tania might want to live here instead, given how many siblings she has here, and she's got chaotic friends," Carlos voiced out Mal's concerns.
"And sledding down Dead Man's Creek in winter!" Jackie added.
"I WANNA GO THERE TOO!" Tania shouted.
"Wanna catapult ourselves across the lake?" Sakura asked as she grinned.
"They're children!" Evie protested.
Sakura waved her hand, as if shooing away Evie's concern. "Relax, they'll be wearing life-jackets and be put into a human bubble so they can gerbil their way back."
"That's not exactly reassuring," Carlos said.
"Relax, Jackie and Chloe have done those before, they actually convinced me and Kura to make it into a sports activity," Adam explained.
"And besides, the sports could have been worse, but we always make sure we are well-equipped with safety gear" Sakura added
"You had me at 'catapult'!" Tania said as she bounced up and down in excitement. "WHERE DO I SIGN UP?!"
Molly sighed. "Great, she's gonna never want to leave now."
Mal nodded. "Yeah, we can't just leave her here."
"It will certainly be hard to separate those trio apart when you guys need to leave," Jones said.
Carlos looked around the area. "Wait, where is Molly?"
Meanwhile, Tania, Jackie, Chloe, and Sakura had dragged Molly to the lake, where they were putting on her safety gear.
"I may be from the Isle, but this is ridiculous!" Molly said as the group plopped her into the bubble.
"Well, you need to experience the thrill before you say anything else," Jackie said before turning to Adam. "CATAPULT HER!"
"On it!" Adam said as he ran towards the catapult.
"Couldn't we just pull a prank on that Chad Dylan Cooper fellow?" Molly asked, hoping that it would make them change their minds.
The rest of the group arrived just as Adam was about to pull the lever.
"What do we do?!" Carlos said when he spotted Molly in the bubble.
Adam pulled the lever. "LAUNCH!"
"AAUUUUUUUGGGGHH!" Molly screamed as she flew into the lake.
"Me next!" Tania said as she raised her hand.
"If Freddie finds out about this, she's going to kill me" Mal said as she turned into a dragon and went after Molly.
Sakura just shrugged. "It could have been worse, the first time we tried this activity, Adam was stuck in a giant tire and used it to float across the lake back here."
"Okay…" Tania said. She definitely preferred the bubble.
"Oh there I see em, there's Mal with Molly!" Evie said as Mal carried Molly's bubble back to shore. When they landed, Mal helped Molly out of the bubble.
"So how was it, Molly?" Jackie asked. "You like the thrill?"
"I don't know…" Molly said. Being launched into a lake had made her feel nauseous.
"I think this will be the only time we try extreme sports," Mal said.
"Launch me next!" Tania exclaimed, hopping from foot to foot.
"NO!" Molly said.
Tania climbed into the bubble. "Too late, we're doing it!"
Jackie pumped his fist into the air. "Yeah! Do it!"
"Oh dear…" Evie said as Adam pulled the lever.
"THIS IS AWWWEEESOMMMME!" Tania shouted as she was thrown into the lake.
Mal sighed. "I'll go get her."
"It's ok, she's got it," Jackie said as he motioned to Tania making her way back.
"I know my friends may seem crazy with their schemes, but they always make sure it's safe," Skylar said as she reassured the gang.
"You just launched Molly into the lake," Mal pointed out. "Her sisters would have killed me."
Skylar just shrugged. "At least she didn't get hurt."
"I know, but Molly's sisters told me to take care of her while we are away," Mal said.
"Once, one of them turned her ex-boyfriend's head into a shrunken ornament," Carlos added.
"In Freddie's defense, Hector dumped her for Yuki and Yuko," Molly said.
"Who are they?" Bree asked.
"Yuko and Yuki are the oldest daughters of Shan Yu, they're pretty on the outside, evil on the inside," Evie explained.
"Jay used to date them," Carlos added.
"And they like to steal other people's boyfriends, husbands, and fiancés," Mal said.
"Huh Shan Yu," Jones mused. "Huh, I think in this timeline Rodissiuss is Shan Yu. Bit weird to hear his counterpart's kids are evil psycho girls, considering Rodissiuss's eldest sons are decent people."
"Wow, they sound like nutcases to deal with," Bree remarked.
"Yeah, that's why Jay broke up with them," Mal said.
Just as Mal said that, Tania had finally gerbiled her way to the dock, where Adam and Sakura were helping her out of the bubble.
"Oh look here comes Tania," Oliver said as Tania ran towards them. "How's the ride?"
"IT WAS AWESOME!" Tania shouted.
"Wanna try to catapult the bubble with a motorboat in the back?!" Jackie asked.
"NO WE'RE NOT!" Chase exclaimed.
"I do!" Tania shouted as she raised her hand.
"Count me out," Molly said. "One extreme sport is enough for the day. Now, didn't Chase say he wanted those samples?"
Chase nodded. "Thank you for reminding me. Now who else has abnormal paranormal genes? I need more proof."
"I think Mal's the only one," Evie answered.
Chase frowned. "Well, that's too bad."
During the conversation, Skylar stepped away to make a phone call. Once she was done, she walked back to the group. "So Mal, I was asking for Fairy Godmother's advice, and she said she could give you some pointers about dimensional magic."
"What does your Fairy Godmother here look like?" Mal asked.
Skylar pulled up a picture of their Fairy Godmother (Tasha Dooley) on her phone and showed it to Mal. "She looks like this."
Tania looked over Mal's shoulder, recognizing a familiar face, "That's no Fairy Godmother, that's my mom!"
"Ex-cuse me," Leo said. "That's my mom!"
"And mine!" Naomi quipped in.
"Well, that explains why you look like my older brother Taylor." Tania shrugged, before eying Naomi, "Though I don't recall having another baby sister in my world."
"Wow what are the odds that your mom and I look just like your family members?" Leo asked.
"So this means that both my mom and Leo's mom can actually ground you for sneaking away, Tania!" Jamie added.
"Can we forget about that right now?!" Tania exclaimed. "I thought we were trying to save the world... our world... whatever!"
"But we still need to figure out how to travel before we can find the missing princes," Mal said.
"Yeah, I wonder what's taking Jay and Tracy so long?" Evie wondered.
Just then, Gus ran up to them, holding his phone. "Good news, guys! Roman and Tracy are FINALLY A COUPLE!"
"Well won't Jay be upset," Jones joked as he checked the news on his phone. He frowned as he looked at his feed. "Oh no."
"What's wrong?" Carlos asked.
"People are mistaking Jay for Roman," Bree spoke out. News tends to travel fast in Auradon Prep.
"Oh boy…" Carlos said.
"That's going to be messy!" Dude added, voicing Carlos's thoughts exactly.
"Yeah, the last thing I need for my sister's life is her actually dating someone who likes her too," Jones said. "And after everything she went through after Roman and her were at the dance together, this proves my point."
"Then what do we do?" Molly asked.
"Is getting rid of Jay an option?" Jones asked with a grin.
Mal frowned. "No, he is my friend."
Jones sighed. "Ugh fine, but we need to get my sis and him out of the eye view of our classmates before things get worse."
"Good idea," Carlos said. "As soon as we figure everything out, we're out of here."
"Can't we stay a little longer?" Tania asked. "This world is amazing. I mean, they have way better stuff here."
"But we still need to get you back home, your family must be worried sick," Evie said.
Tania shrugged. "They won't mind."
"What about your friends at school?" Carlos asked. "Won't they miss you?"
"They won't even notice I'm gone," Tania answered, avoiding eye contact.
Mal sighed. This was going to be more difficult than they thought. "Ok, then what about school?"
"It's summer break soon, most of the teachers are too busy planning their summer vacation than be bothered about my attendance," Tania answered before she grinned and spun around. "Again, I never want to leave! I have real friends now"
Tania's protest didn't last long once Jackie and Chloe invited her for another prank on an unsuspecting Auradon Prep student.
Tania motioned to Jackie. "I stand by what I say: they get me!"
"I'm sure there's someone in Auradon that will get you too," Evie said, trying to get Tania to come with them.
Tania shrugged. "I doubt it."
"But we're on a mission!" Molly said firmly.
Tania sighed. "Ok fine. Can I bring Jackie and Chloe along?"
Jones shook his head. "Yeah I don't think it's possible, since they have school. Jackie really needs to pass first grade entry exams soon."
"But why?" Tania whined.
"Well, considering the fact that there are multiple dimensions out there, I'm sure that you guys will bump into people that look like us as well," Skylar said.
"Yeah, I mean Tania might end up seeing Jackie and Chloe again soon," Oliver agreed.
Just then, Mal pointed to two familiar figures that were walking towards them. "Oh look, Jay's back with Tracy."
"JAY, YOU GOT SOME EXPLAINING TO DO!" Jones yelled, charging towards the Arabian teen. The young teen is clearly not in the mood for explanation.
"Why is your brother running towards me?" Jay went pale at Jones lunging towards him.
"Don't just stand there. RUN, YOU FOOL!" Tracy pushed Jay away so he could run from her brother.
Anonymousette: This marks the end of our chapter, the Dimension Travelers will be spending a while in this new dimension before getting back on their feet to find Prince Charles (Spin) and Prince Dewey (Doy).
Purpledolpin05: It's been a long time since we've updated the story, school and life has been keeping us busier than usual. On the plus side, I've graduated uni and got a job now.
Chapter Talk: -
1) Being in a new dimension that is similar to your own world can be quite interesting when you meet your alternate parallels. Everyone is rather similar yet different. It was fun to bring up the various counterparts our Core Four have and the easy misunderstandings one might have when mistaking them for people they know
- Dove Cameron played as Mal, Liv and Maddie, Kayla from Cloud 9, and Helga Rooney;
- Cameron Boyce played Luke Ross, Carlos, Kragh Rooney;
- Sofia Carson played as Evie, Lola from Adventures of Babysitting, and Chelsea from Austin and Ally;
- Booboo Stewart played Jay, Roman, Nick Young from the 2012 movie "White Frog", Kai from Good Luck Charlie and Carson Hunter from Kickin It
2) After meeting Jackie and Chloe, Tania would definitely not leave the alternate version of Auradon, especially since she has trouble making friends due to her habit of pranking people.
3) The idea for Tania's birthday party came from Sonny with a Chance, in season 2 there was an episode when Chad Dylan Cooper wrote a birthday song that's about himself. Since in the world of Descendants, modern Disney shows exist as fictional TV series, it's not too far-fetched to say that Chad Charming got inspired by fictional Chad Dylan Cooper's song.
4) While new friendships are being formed for our Dimension travelers and their parallel counterparts, it looks like something might be blossoming between Jay and Tracy Li. (Though it's coming at the expense of people mistaking Jay for Roman)
