Dally was thoughtful for a minute, "Ok, I gues it won't hurt," he shrugged. So they got in the car, and drove to the South Beach Boulevard again. This time they entered the place called Basement Miami. Elvis was playing. They took a table. Two-bit wanted to go to the bar and order a drink, but he remembered the day before and got at the table with everyone else. He looked around, and saw a cute girl sitting at one of the tables with her friend. He grinned, "See that cute thing over there, I am going to send her a drink."

The waiter showed up, and everyone ordered food as well as drinks. "An orange daiquiri for me and an old fashioned for that cute blond over there," two-bit pointed a finger. "You just got here, and you are picking up broads already," Steve scowled. Two-bit only grinned in response, "I ain't wasting my time."

The food arrived pretty soon, and they watched the waiter deliver two-bit's drink to the girl. She turned around and smiled at two-bit. He smiled as a chessy cat, and made his way to her table holding his own drink and turning around on his way and winking at the guys. Dally rolled his eyes, and Pony's ears turned red at which Johnny chuckled. Two-bit didn't even eat his food. The guys watched him take the girl's hand and walk up to the second floor.

After they ate, Sophia smiled at Dallas – "Would you like to dance?" He seemed to be caught off guard.

"I'm not that good of a dancer," he replied, and it looked as the tough and tuff Dallas Winston was embarrassed for once. Sophia chuckled, "oh, I'm sure you are fine. Everyone can dance."

"Yeah," Soda giggled, "you can't be here and not dance." Soda started getting up, and Sophia and Dally got up and went to the dance floor. "Pony, Johnny, you too." Soda prompted.

"No, I'm good," Pony replied, and Johnny looked down not saying anything.

At this moment two girls walked up to the table, where now just Pony and Johnny were sitting. The girls appeared to be twins. They had red hair and green eyes, and even in the dimmed lights it was obvious that they were very beautiful. They looked 18 or 19.

"Hi, I am Jules." "And I am Nikki," they said, "would you guys like to dance?"

Pony felt his face get red, hoping that she couldn't see in the dimmed lights. "What are your names?" Nikki asked.

"I am…," Pony paused dreading saying his name.

"I'm Johnny," Johnny barely looked at her and then looked down.

"And I am … um Ponyboy." Nikki giggled – "nice nickname."

"It's not a nickname," Pony started, but then just left it at that. In the meantime Jules was grabbing Johnny's sleeve, pulling him off his seat. "Such a cutie you can't be just sitting here all by yourself," she murmured. Johnny's face flashed bright red, and Pony almost chuckled. He got up, and Nicky wrapped her hand around his shoulder.

As they got onto dance floor, Pony noticed Soda was dancing with a girl too. He noticed Pony and Johnny with the girls and grinned at them. Neither Pony nor Johnny knew how to dance. Pony was looking at Soda and tried to copy his moves and Johnny was looking at Pony and tried to copy him. The girls didn't seem to notice or mind.

The time has passed, and it's been about 2 hours since they got there. They got back to the table with the girls. Two-bit still wasn't back. "He must be having a lot of fun," Steve said - a smirk on his lips. At that moment the girl that two-bit went with ran up to their table. She looked shook up. Before anyone had a chance to say anything she blurted out – "Your friend, um Keith he is hurt."

"Whatta ya mean?" Dallas snapped looking directly at her.

"He… he got high and he… he jumped outta the window, we couldn't hold him back. He hurt himself" She sounded panicked.

Not saying anything else, Dallas got up and started running towards the exit, the rest followed him. Outside they found two-bit lying on the ground unconscious. Dallas grabbed his shoulders and shook him. Two-bit opened his eyes. "Two-bit hey are you ok, can you hear me?"

"I had to," two-bit mumbled, and his speech was slurred. "I had to face my fear, fear of heights."

"He's still high," Dallas paled. Then he added, raising his voice a little, "Step aside guys." Everyone stepped aside. Dally scooped two-bit up bridal style and proceeded to carry him to the car. Soda got in the driver's seat and pressed on gas. "Thank god it was only second floor," Soda said – his eyes wide.

"Moron," Steve muttered under his breath.

They arrived at the hospital. Thankfully two-bit's high wore off by then. "What happened?" the doctor asked rather skeptically, fixing his glasses on his nose.

"He… um, fell from the second floor," Dallas said without missing a beat, staring the doctor right in the eyes.

"Fell?" The doc said, "How'd he manage that?"

"I dunno I wasn't there," Dallas scowled. The doctor noticed his anger. "Well looks like he's got a broken arm, but he' good otherwise. The arm will be in a cast for about two weeks."

"Shoot, that means I can't drive, I love driving," two-bit whined.

"This is what you are worried about?" Steve looked up at him in disbelief.

"Alright boys," the doctor said, "you can go now. I'm going to put his arm in a cast and then you'll be all set." The guys exited the room, leaving two-bit alone with the doctor.

When two-bit was ready, they exited the hospital in silence. They got in the car, two-bit into the back seat. "What were you thinking, sniffing coke?" Soda turned to face two-bit.

"I thought I was in Miami only once," he mumbled, not looking up at Soda.

"So are you happy now?" Soda replied, and he sounded a little harsh.

"It's just once, it's not like I'm hooked on it," two-bit frowned.

"Yeah," Steve said sarcasm in his voice, "and then you had to go flying outta the window."

"Sorry," two-bit hung his head, "but I just had to face my fear. You all were jumping out of planes, going mountain climbing and I couldn't do any of that stuff."

"So you flew out the window," Steve rolled his eyes.

Two- bit looked close to tears, which none of the guys ever seen him do ever.

"Alright Steve lay off," Dally said through clenched teeth, looking at two-bit from the front seat, in a rear view mirror. "Cheer up two-bit, you dig ok." Two-bit gave him a small smile, "I didn't mean to get you in trouble."

"We'll be ok," Johnny smiled. Two-bit lifted his head, "so tomorrow can we go to the alligator park, the one I'd seen a flier for?"

"Yes two-bit we are going to the alligator park," Soda nodded, while meeting Dal's gaze in the mirror and making huge eyes at him. Dally smirked, "Yes two-bit, we are going to the alligator park." Two-bit smiled, "won't we have what to tell Darry about."

"You bet," Dally chuckled and he didn't mean just the alligator park.
