A/N: Hi. I tried that whole editing thing writers are supposed to do but I'm tired of looking at this so I'd like to apologize in advance for all errors and nonsense. I hope you enjoy.

"I don't see why you're yelling at me when Kol is the one that did it." Damon says into the phone as he strolls along the halls of the boarding house "Besides it's not like he actually killed her. And he could have." he sighs and takes the phone away from his ear when Lucy yells into the phone quickly followed by Elena's familiar timbre reaching his ears but whatever she says doesn't register as his attention has gone to Stefan's room. Spotting his little brother standing in front of his closet with a tie in each hand, eyes going from one to the other then back again.

"You're even worse now than you were when you were actually seventeen." Damon remarks after seeing that ties are a mere shade apart.

"What?" Lucy's voice rings out.

"Not you," Damon scowls towards his phone as if Lucy can see him then promptly ends the call.

"What if she doesn't come?"

"She told you that she would, right?" Damon meets his gaze in the mirror and shrugs when he sees the questioning look directed his way "Too easy," he explains and Stefan cracks a half smile.

"Yeah, but I'm asking her to choose me over her family."

"You mean that guy that she only talks to when it has to do with lives being at stake because of what he did to you a hundred years ago?"

"No, I mean Lucy,"

Damon frowns "What does Lucy have to do with this?"

"She's Elena's best friend."

"And?" Damon frowns, not understanding his brother's logic.

Stefan sighs then goes to sit on his bed "That day, when we went to Lucy's. Bonnie did a spell that let me hear her conversation with Elena. Lucy is the reason I know why she left me."

"So," Damon begins, tone mocking to which Stefan sighs and braces himself for his brother's spiel "what you're saying is Lucy asked Bon to answer Elena's questions and Elena asked Bonnie to let you hear their conversation. And because that worked out in Elena's favor, Lucy asked Bonnie to go and ask you on a date, one that went good enough that you got a second instead of going back to Elena. Who is currently holed up in my safehouse—one that you know exactly where it is—moping around while you're dating your ex girlfriend? The one that if not for her showing up, she would still be with you?"

"Well when you say it like that, it does sound ridiculous." A voice drawls out and both Salvatores turn to see Rebekah perched on the window sill looking geuinely amused at the scene playing out before her.

"If you can say it in a way that doesn't sound insane, I'm all ears." Damon grins, unfazed by her sudden appearance.

"No," Stefan shifts his gaze back to his brother knowing Rebekah is actually the neutral party in all of this "what I'm saying is if it comes down to having to choose between me or Lucy, I know who she'll choose. For me to even put her in that position isn't fair to her."

"So, she leaves you for over a century and now that she's back and willing to give you a chance you don't want to take it because being with you means losing Lucy."

"Yes,"

"So by that logic, Bonnie would have kicked everyone except for Elijah and Finn to the curb years ago. Because you know it's not like Bon has ever let me being your brother get in the way of us being friends. Or you being Klaus' little sidekick, or Rebekah and Caroline's stand in musketeer for when she's not around. You would not be having a crisis over a tie because you would be off somewhere with Elena. And if we're being honest Kol would have killed us years ago.

"That's a bit unfair," Rebekah steps in "Caroline, Klaus and I genuinely like Stefan and just as Bonnie we are mature enough to not let one relationship interfere with another. While as opposed to you, who used your friendship with Bonnie to live up to your petty promise over a girl. Not once but twice now."

"Bon's past with him was only a bonus." Damon waves her point away "And we're over that now."

"Yeah," Stefan endorses half heartedly when Damon sends a pointed look his way at his silence.

"You're still piss poor liars." Rebekah remarks, eyes narrowed as she looks back and forth between the two "It's a good thing." She promises with a grin, strolling past Stefan who only watches her as she helps herself to his closet, green eyes flitting back to Damon who only shrugs despite the soft smile on his face that seems to be reserved for the blonde. Both turning back to his closet and watching as she reappears with a yellow tie in her hand, going about sliping the fabric around his neck.

"She's wearing yellow," Stefan says, staring down at the blonde.

"Pretty and smart," Rebekah replies, tightening the knot "Pity it doesn't run in the family." She adds in a hushed tone.

Stefan opts to not reply, only returns the smile she gives him.

"Still your favorite color, right?"

"Next to green," He admits absentmindedly and watches as she looks up at him with that same endeared look he used to catch on her face back when she would spend time with Bonnie and himself in his first lifetime.

"I don't know Damon, I'd say he's way better than when he was a boy. Either he's been spending too much time with you or he's been holding back all this time."

"Please," Damon huffs "He would have passed out the moment she said hi if it weren't for me."

Rebekah grins, but sobers the moment she sees the panic begin to creep into Stefan's eyes when the sound of a car coming to a stop catches her attention "You'll be fine, Stefan." She attempts to calm his nerves, knowing better than to tease.

"Yeah, just picture her naked." Damon smirks then doubles over with a grunt when Rebekah delivers a swift fist to his stomach at his comment.

"She's just as nervous as you are," Rebekah assures "and if you don't believe me. Just remember that you have the advantage this time around. You're the one that can listen to her heartbeat."

"Thank you, Bekah." Stefan replies after a moment.

"Just keep this in mind when you choose the Godmother." Rebekah sniffs.

Stefan frowns "You do know that I-"

"She's a witch, you idiot. Now go," She says, pushing him towards the door, laughing as he stumbles past the door frame.

"I thought Blondie and I were enough." Damon says falling into step with Rebekah once his brother has hit the bottom step.

"Both of you have emotional ties to Stefan." She replies as they begin their descent of the stairs.

"And you don't?"

"Not one that goes back to the doppelgänger."

"Because you're such a fan." He snarks.

"Unlike Tatia and Katerina, Elena only speaks to the other in benefit of the brother she's truly interested in. Tatia knew that Elijah was the one she wanted but she still entertained Nik. Elena speaks to you because she knows your importance to Stefan. Just as Bonnie does. The difference being Bonnie genuinely considers you to be a friend. The relationship the two of you share is completely independent from the other's with Stefan. The only reason you two would fight over her is of her attention, not her affection. Stefan trusts her to be around you and more importantly he trusts you to be around her. That says a lot, especially considering you've never even tried. Don't you think so?"

"Yeah, whatever." Damon mutters watching from the window as Stefan sends him a smile before he climbs into the car. Watching as it peels off from the driveway and onto the road. A heavy sigh escapes him when he looks to his right to see that Rebekah is gone.

"At least one of us is making progress."

Rebekah halts at the edge of the lawn as the words reach her ears but then shakes her head and speeds off.

She pins the last curl before moving onto the waiting eyeshadow palette. A smile pulling at her lips when she picks up on the way Bonnie taps her finger against her thigh. A nervous habit, one she had only seen twice in all of the years she's shared with her sister.

"Well I guess I have my answer."

"And to which question would that be?" Bonnie asks, eyes still closed as Caroline applies the color to her lids.

"You haven't had a date since 1864."

"I have,"

Caroline smirks at the indignation in Bonnie's tone "I meant a real one, with someone that you won't forget within a month or two once it's over. I haven't seen you this nervous since the day you went to tell him about your secret. And the time before that was when you went to meet Lorenzo in the caves. Good times," She adds through a smile that only grows when one of the hybrid's eyes snap open to glare at her.

"Where's Bex?" Bonnie asks in an effort to change the subject.

"She didn't think you'd want her around." Caroline replies through a sigh and turns to begin mixing the colors for the desired shade of lip to complete the look.

"I don't blame her for anything."

"Well logically she knows that, but she still feels like she shares the fault. When Elijah daggered you, she took his word that you ran off after he compelled Stefan to forget you. She feels as if she should have known better than that. The one time she wasn't there to stop him. She let you down. We both did." Caroline adds after a brief pause.

"You didn't let me down."

"Yes, I did. I was off with Niklaus, when I should have been there for you. I wasn't able to find you."

"I didn't want to be found."

"I know, but you blocked our link. Even throughout our worst you never did that. When I couldn't reach you, I knew you hated me."

"Care…" Bonnie's voice breaks off and jumps when Caroline's demeanor changes.

"No!" the blonde screams immediately placing her index fingers beneath Bonnie's eyes "If you ruin your makeup I swear to…"

Bonnie makes a sweeping motion down her face and stares up at her sister watching as she deflates.

"Oh, right." She says then looks at Bonnie in wait.

"I knew that if you knew what Elijah had done you would kill him. I tried reaching out but your guilt was shutting me out. The only time I could make headway was when you were sleeping. But you only accredited them to dreams and it ended up making it worse. I sent you a birthday gift but you were pissy and I couldn't even get into your head that night."

"Yeah well," Caroline huffs, rolling her eyes and reaches for the brush when Bonnie grins up at her.

"Wait a minute,"

Caroline halts her movement "I'm only listening because the colors haven't properly mixed yet." She snips and waits for Bonnie's explanation.

"What's today?"

"Friday,"

"No, the actual date."

Caroline sighs "It's the tenth. Whatever you just remembered isn't getting you out of this. I will not let you ruin this for me."

"Son of a bitch."

"What does Giuseppe have to do with this?" Caroline questions as she goes on about swirling the brush in her mixture.

"It's our anniversary."

Caroline blinks then a smile breaks across her face, nodding her head throughout her amusement "Damon was right, he is a love sick twerp."

"He's going to ask me to compel him."

"So compel him." Caroline shrugs.

"I promised him that I never would."

Caroline places her finger underneath Bonnie's chin making the witch lips press together and starts to apply the color "We both know that the only reason you're hesitant is because you're afraid that he's right. That boy would have followed you to the ends of the earth. Do you know how many times he dragged Bex and I to help him pick gifts for you? I'm sure the shopkeepers thought him to be a tramp as many times as we accompanied him. And we always had to compel the owner to accept whatever change he scraped together to buy it. He refused to buy you anything with his father's money." she smiles then sobers "If you want to keep your promise then use your magick as the alternative. No matter how you go about it, it's going to end with you having to accept that you've been wrong and putting the both of you through hell for the past century for nothing." She rubs her lips together and watches as Bonnie does the same then places the brush down and openly admires her work.

"What makes you so sure?"

"I was there." her voice light as she answers with a lift of her shoulders "He looks at you the way Dad looked at Mom. From when she would braid flowers in her hair to when she had that run in with poison ivy." she laughs at the memory of Abby looking embarrassed while Rudy merely smiled as he doted on her "I'd know it anywhere because it's what I've been looking for. Which is exactly why I refuse to let you ruin this for me." she reiterates with a pointed look "Lucy will get over it when she sees how happy you are. And if she doesn't then she'll understand when she sees the way he looks at you, especially on your wedding day."

"Care," Bonnie says exasperated then stills when she hears a car come to a stop.

"You look beautiful." Caroline says, pulling Bonnie up from her seat by the witch's shaking hands and moves behind her to slip the robe from her sister's frame covering her dress. Smiling as she sees the way the yellow of the garment compliments her skin. "You can't come home before three." she adds ushering Bonnie down the stairs and towards the door, slipping the clutch into Bonnie's hand as she waves off the driver who takes heed and makes his way back to the drivers side "and I'll be expecting all of the details. And most importantly have fun." She finishes as she closes the door to the car.

He has to force himself to stay rooted in place when he spots the vintage porsche peeling into the lot and braces himself for the driver to walk up to him and tell him that Bonnie wasn't coming only to be surprised when the driver gives him a nod before strolling over to the back seat and opens the door. Offering a hand that is taken by one with pale pink nails, a french tip as they climb out of the car. Unable to do anything but stare as Bonnie steps into view. A floor length yellow chiffon drop shoulder dress. Hair styled in a half updo while the rest of her curls spill down her back. A color that seems to compliment both the one of her dress and nails staining her lips that part as her eyes take in her surroundings and he stills when her eyes finally meet his own. Holding his breath when she begins to make her way towards him.

"Hi," She says, voice sounding slightly breathless as she comes to a stop before him.

He parts his lips to return her greeting but only manages to nod his head dumbly, his only saving grace being the bright smile she gives him before ducking her head.

"You remembered," She says in an attempt to make conversation, looking back to the building.

"I remember everything that you told me." He says not missing a beat, watching as she looks back to him, a stunned look on her face and fights the urge to smile at the way her heartbeat starts to race. The sound serves to ease his nerves, offering his arm for her to take and begins to lead her towards the steps, mindful to match her pace as she navigates through the combination of the length of her dress and the heels that he swallows at the sight of.

"She wanted you here."

Rebekah stops her ascent of the stairs and turns to face Caroline from where she stands at the bottom of the staircase.

"She doesn't blame you." Caroline adds.

"But I do." Rebekah replies.

Caroline studies the blonde for a moment, taking in the guilt marring her features "Is there something I should know?"

Rebekah closes her eyes and takes a deep breath to gather her nerves. Her hand going to the railing as she lowers herself to sit on the steps and keeps her head low as she begins her response. "Stefan asked me to send for him when we settled in our next home."

Caroline frowns "What?"

"He knew that Bonnie wouldn't let him come with us when we left, but what could she do if he came to her on his own?"

"And you would have done that?" Caroline asks bitterly to which Rebekah grins knowing where the hybrid's attitude is truly stemming from.

"He only asked me because with him came Damon. You're still his favorite."

Caroline lets out a small laugh then stops, the tension taking up space between them. To which Rebekah shifts then begins to rise and make her way to her room.

"We have to talk about it eventually." Caroline tries, watching in surprise as Rebekah stills.

"I just don't understand. You would never do that to Bonnie, so why was it so easy for you to do that to me?" Is all Rebekah says.

Bonnie marvels at the interior from the marble floor to the high ceiling covered with constellations. The occasional shooting star. Her eyes going to the walls taking in words that she relayed to Stefan about the very mappings she pointed out to him back during the time they spent under the stars. And she frowns looking to him but is stopped by a voice cutting in. Her eyes going to a girl posed behind a monitor looking as bored as her tone suggested.

"Name?"

"Stefan Salvatore,"

Bonnie watches as the girl's entire demeanor changes with something between amusement and bafflement.

"Mr. Salvatore," she says in a bright tone "I apologize," she bows her head moving from her spot to stand before him and Bonnie raises an eyebrow. Looking to Stefan who keeps his attention on the girl before him.

"It's fine, I've been here enough to know how the guests can be." He assures her with a smile.

She returns his smile with one of her own, relief clear in her eyes then returns to her place behind the desk. Her fingers going to the keyboard as she asks, "The usual?"

"Um, no," he says, his hand going to the back of his neck "I'll be using the custom suite this time."

The girl halts mid stroke of the keys and looks up to him then to Bonnie and her eyes widen, briefly going to the adjacent wall before nodding with a smile "Okay," then moves to pull out a keycard and waves to the attendant at the opposite desk who nods. "Right this way, Mr. Salvatore." She says, a knowing smile playing on her lips as she looks at Stefan. Her eyes once again going to the wall before she then turns to lead them down the hall.

Curiosity peaked, Bonnie takes the bait and her breath catches in her throat.

"Is something wrong?" Stefan asks worriedly but gets his answer as he follows her line of sight, looking back just as she turns to face him. "If you want me to remove it I will."

"I don't," She replies softly then returns her gaze to the framed portrait mapped in the form of constellations of her floating on her back in the pond, eyes closed, curls fanned out behind her.

"Are you sure?"

"It's just..." she takes a breath "It's just something that I wasn't expecting."

"Is it really that hard for you to believe me?"

"No I...let's not do this tonight."

"The last time you said that to me, I was left with nothing but a ring."

It's a low blow, and he knows that it's not fair of him to say to her but he also knows that they weren't truly going to get anywhere if the conversation was not had. And she was never one that expected or wanted minced words.

"I didn't know."

"Would it have changed anything if you did?" He presses.

"I wouldn't have stayed away."

"Okay," he concedes with a nod "So now you have no excuse for why you can't." And grins as her face scrunches up, his hands going to frame her face but stops just as his lips brush against her own. Noting how her eyes have closed seeming to have fallen back in their old ways just as he had and out just as fast. "Now let's go." He settles for taking her hand and her immediate response of interlacing their fingers.

"It's beautiful," Bonnie says in effort to distract herself but it backfires.

"It is, but it doesn't come close to the source." he replies and tries to suppress his smile at the way her heartbeat has sped up "Thank you," He says, once they reach the woman waiting for them at the end of the corridor, doing a fairly good job at pretending as if she were paying them no mind. The dismissal was clear in his tone despite the polite smile on his face. And she takes it upon herself to leave after handing over the key card and sending an apologetic look to Bonnie at her prior behavior. Who for her part only smiles giving an appreciative nod of acknowledgement before stepping into the room.

Bonnie can't help but smile when she steps into the room, a seemingly a dark void, but with each step little spots swim into view. A table set for two right in the middle, a waiter placing two menus down, and filling two glasses of red wine before looking to Stefan who juts his chin and the waiter addresses Bonnie with a smile before making his exit.

She can only watch as he moves to the chair and pulls it out for her himself. A gasp escaping her when the stars surrounding them abruptly spread out and begin to shift into various constellations.

"Do I want to know?"

"Klaus," Stefan answers and Bonnie frowns.

"Klaus? As in my Klaus?"

"He felt bad for the whole snapping my neck thing and helped me build this. I'm surprised he never brought you here."

Bonnie laughs and shakes her head "It's not often that Nik feels guilty, but when he does…" she trails off "He won't say a word unless he knows that you're ready."

"Sounds like you're speaking from experience."

"One thousand years of it, and yet most of them have to do with you."

Stefan's eyebrows knit together.

"Rebekah was the one that reached out to tell me about seeing you. Nik didn't say anything until I asked him to tell me where you were. Caroline and Rebekah kept pushing but Nik…" her eyes go to the stars surrounding them "He just waited until I kept hovering. I guess my quality time was too much."

"But he's the one that's always trying to get you to spend time with him."

"Exactly," Bonnie grins, reaching for her glass to take a sip "For years he kept this sketchbook from me saying that it wasn't finished but I'm always the one that he shows his unfinished pieces to. One day I got enough of him locking himself in his studio and broke in and I saw that it was filled with constellations. I asked him why he kept it from me but he wouldn't say a word. I should have figured, but at the time he was seeing a witch...well chasing after one. Astronomy is something that we study so I just thought it was for her and that he wanted to get it right on his own. Impress her, instead of using me as a cheat sheet."

Stefan smiles more to himself than anything at the reveal.

"I think that you're the only one that he never stepped in on. For all of us."

"Sounds like the closest I'll ever get to a compliment."

"To your face." Bonnie replies "He always told me that he loved me but I was the most foolish witch he ever met. It seemed that with the exception of one, you were the one thing everyone agreed with."

"Not two?"

Bonnie only looks at him, confusion clear on her face before she once again reaches for her glass and takes a long drink. Narrowing her eyes at him over the rim.

Stefan only smiles and reaches for the menu placed in front of him.

He's on his third glass of brown when he hears a rush of wind and his only response is to pour bourbon into another glass and holds it out in offering for them to take.

"This isn't a social visit."

"Which is even more reason to drink." He retorts and waves it for emphasis as he takes a swig from his own glass.

"I guess you're right." Caroline concedes taking his peace offering and closes her eyes as the liquid warms her insides.

"Bon," He says when she looks to him in question.

"Then that's enough." She smiles and sets the glass down before moving to sit on the couch.

"Suit yourself," He shrugs, then sits in the chair opposite of her and waits.

"I know you're hiding that trollop in your safehouse."

"Yeah," Damon says knowing there's no point in his denial.

"What I want to know is why Bonnie is helping you."

"That spoiled brat you call your niece."

Caroline throws a candle at him and watches as he catches it with a smile.

"I need you to get what Elena agreed to give me."

Damon only looks at her, and frowns when she has his phone in her hands in the next breath, tossing it back to him just as fast. Afterwards taking out her own, her fingers moving across the screen once it vibrates.

"You will bring them to that address tomorrow at five o'clock and then take the car waiting for you there." she looks up to him and watches the grown appear on his face "Wear something nice."

"And if I don't?"

"No need for hypotheticals, Damon." Caroline breezes.

At the conclusion of their desert Bonnie looks up as the stars surrounding them spread out. Coming to a stop beyond several tables as various couplings are revealed as they do the same. Soft music floats into her ears and looks back to Stefan and sees that just as the others he has raised to feet and is standing beside her with his hand out.

"You hate dancing." She says looking away from his hand and into his gaze as he waits for her acceptance.

Stefan looks at her and grins when she presses her lips together and averts her gaze.

"Not with you," He decides not to tease her giveaway. Smiling as her eyes widen and the slight shake of her hand as it moves to take his own. Allowing him to pull her close and the table seems to fade away.

"I missed you, Bon." he says into her ear "More than I can even begin to try to show you how much. I know that you don't believe me but I did." he huffs out what sounds like a laugh "I still do."

"Show me," She says and pulls back to look into his eyes. She watches as he stares back at her then nods, his hands squeezing her hips as if he were testing to see if she were really here then steps away taking her hand and begins to lead her away.

"You sure?" He asks when they come to a stop at a towering double door, only pressing his palm to the screen when she voices her agreement.

She takes a deep breath as she follows him inside and takes in an all too familiar setting. Down to the water at the edge of the plush grass and all. "Stef," She breathes out.

"I never could go back, being there...I just knew that I would never leave." he makes a point of keeping his head down "I would stay and wait for you to come and find me. At least here, I knew that there wasn't a chance that I'd leave before you came."

Bonnie exhales a sharp breath and braces herself when he begins to face her. Seeming to sense her apprehension as he says,

"I know it's not fair to ask but, please." he holds her eyes "I don't want you to have any doubts."

"Stef,"

"I need you to know."

Bonnie swallows then nods, stepping forward placing her hand on his chest as she locks her gaze firmly on his.

"Can you show me something?"

Bonnie jumps at his question, all focus having gone on how much the air around him has changed. The familiar warmth in his eyes despite the questions swirling yet not even the faintest trace of fear.

"What?"

"Magick, you say that you are a witch. Can you show me something?"

Bonnie stares at him and she can see that he's trying his hardest not to laugh.

"I tell you that I am a vampire and all that that entails, but you are more concerned with my magick."

"Well you said that you do not kill when you…" he trails off and waves his hand, a slight grimace on his face that makes her shrink into herself "My only issue is that you would rather go to strangers than to me if it does not end in death as you claim."

"It is not that I do not want to."

"Then why have you not?"

"When vampires have an attachment to who they feed from and the attachment is mutual, it often creates a bond. The stronger the feelings the stronger the bond will be. A vampire's emotions are heightened, I cannot put that burden on you. And I would never feed from you without your consent."

Bonnie stares at him and she takes note of the brief shift of his frame that he's wary of closing the space between them. But seems to get over it as he takes her hand between his as he meets her gaze.

"Bonnie, I love you. You could never be a burden to me. I only wish that you had told me sooner. Though I should have figured when you beat my brother in our rock skippings."

Bonnie scoffs at him "Are you implying that a woman cannot beat a man without help?"

"No," he grins "I am saying that my brother is not beyond cheating even against a lady. He thinks that I do not know of the boulder just below the surface" he points towards the water "and that's how he always gets an extra jump. Your's did as well but that is the only boulder in the water." he pauses "Weather,"

Bonnie frowns but internally wonders why she's even surprised at this point at his nonchalance of the situation "What of it?"

"Are you able to use your magick to change it?"

"I can,"

"The day I first saw you here, it was only here that the weather was suitable for swimming. My brother teased me, saying that women have the ability to change a man's heat. I recall telling you that I loved storms. From that night on it rained ever since. The only exception being town gatherings."

Bonnie folds her lips and rolls her eyes when he grins at her.

"Did you think telling me this would change the way I feel about you?"

"Does it not?"

"If I said I would not be even more mindful of my tongue then that would be a lie. Though your brothers have made it clear that should I ever cross you, I would have to answer to them. Even knowing of all you can do, I still fear what they would do more."

Bonnie frowns "They have made threats?"

"It is nothing that I would not do as well. Or you, if they were in our situation." He adds and lifts his shoulders when she levels a glare at him.

"This...what I am, does not bother you?"

"While I understand your hesitation in telling me, I still wish that you had trusted me sooner." he admits "But that is my own doing. I should have made my feelings for you more transparent. Aside from that the only thing that bothers me is that I feel as though you would not agree when the time comes that I ask you to turn me."

"You would do that?"

"If it meant I could spend all my days with you, yes. I would only fear the loss of my brother and leaving him to my father's wrath. Leaving this place to be with you will always be my choice and Father would still place the blame onto Damon." he pauses "I cannot picture my brother respecting such a decision either, he admires you yet thinks I am moving too fast. I tell him that he and I are not the same. I do not wish to have his...experience. I always wished to belong only to the one I love and I have. Perhaps immortality would fit him if it assured he could continue his current relation to women." He rambles. "If you were to take me, would you mind if my brother accompanied us if he agreed to go as well? I promise you that I would not tell him of your secret but I do not wish to leave him here alone."

"Of course, but I cannot ask you to leave your home for me."

"After you I could never call this place home. Even if I did see it as such, you would never have to. I am telling you that if you leave, it will not mean that I would not follow. The only thing that would stop me is if you used...the mind control you spoke of."

"Compulsion," Bonnie says.

"I believe you when you say that you have not and would never use that on me and I can only hope that it does not come to that when the time comes that you do leave."

It's only when he looks back up at her, concern clear in his eyes, voice soft as he moves to close the space between them with "Bon, I'm sorry." does she even realize she's crying. In her shock, going completely still as his arms wrap around her "I did not mean to upset you. If compulsion is what you decide I know that you did it with no ill intentions and I need you to know that I will not be upset at your decision. I only ask that you tell me, give me one day with you before you go." On some level his words of assurance soothes her guilt and she even finds herself immersing in this being how things truly went but when she does not feel his heart beating against her chest she's ripped out of the fantasy. She waits for it to make some sort of difference but instead finds her arms wrapping around him as he pulls her closer. "I love you so much. There's nothing that you can say to change the way I feel about you." She's content with allowing them to stay like that until he sees it fit to pull away but when she's counted five minutes and he's yet to do so. She whispers the words to end the spell. Unsure if it's even worked in her frame of mind until the strength of his hold increases and so she does the same. Blinking several times when she finds herself on her back, staring up into eyes that are no longer filled with innocence but the haunted look she's grown used to since her return.

"Not the magick I was expecting but I guess it will have to do."

"You weren't wearing your ring that day."

"I took it off once you told me about compulsion." he admits watching as she frowns in response "It's like I said, I believed you when you said that you would never compel me. So I didn't see the point of wearing it anymore. The only thing me keeping it on would have changed was Caroline and Rebekah stopping Elijah or Kol from killing me when they realized who was following after you."

"I wouldn't have turned you."

"I know, but I would have worn Caroline or Rebekah down eventually just so they would no longer have to hear my whining and your brothers would never turn down the opportunity of being able to kill me. No matter how temporary it would have been."
