Mr Brunner stared at him momentarily, then he said to Grover, "Not a word, Grover, not a word. Leave now, under the guise of the night, take him to Sally now and tell her, its time."

Perseus whipped his head back and forth between the two people, "Time?", he asked, "Time for what? Time for WH-", He was cut short as Grover put his hand over his mouth and said in his ear, "Shut up, Percy, for the sake of your life, shut the fuck up."

"Perseus, I will see you soon." Mr Brunner said.

What? Perseus thought, where the hell was he going?!

But he couldn't voice any of his thoughts as Grover dragged him out of the office and down the hall to their dorm, he tried struggling but the scrawnier boy held his ground and kept dragging Perseus.

"UGH le-*cough* let me go!", Perseus said. Grover didn't reply, instead speeding up his pace and opened the dorm door, closing it as silently as possible, before releasing Perseus.

"What the fuck was that?", Perseus said.

"Please man, no questions, the less you know until you're secure, the safer you will be, I promise to tell you everything, but we aren't safe here", Grover replied.

Perseus was on the brink of spear-tackling his best friend, but a specific look of darkness crossed over Grover's face, barely concealed panic made Perseus reconsider. He didn't ask any more questions, instead, he deigned to quickly following Grover's lead and packing his belongings, as little as they were, into his suitcase. Their room was stripped barren in a matter of minute, dirty underpants thrown into the far corners of his suitcase, and there was no evidence that anybody ever lived in the room.

"Alright good, now Percy, we move quickly", Grover said. Half of the boy's body was already out the door as he finished his sentence. "Quick! Come on!"

"Jesus Christ, I'm coming, don't strangle me again", was the reply.

They hurried out of the school, Grover began looking more and more worried every time they passed a painting, and Perseus had to admit, he was to, he had never seen any of the paintings on these walls before. They all resembled either some form of a demon, a three headed dog, if his memory served him right, that was the Cerberus, or a large man wreathed in darkness. The scariest part of their trek out of the school was the fact that the final two corridors out of the school were in complete darkness, light murmurs could be heard in the corners of the halls like the wind was whispering, except there was no breeze, and no one around them.

Finally, standing out the front of the school, Grover whispers, "Di Immortales", Goodness me, Perseus' mind automatically translated. He was too high on adrenalin to notice what his mind did. Then Perseus noticed why Grover whispered that. In the middle of the road was a man, or at least, he thought it was a man. Whatever it was, it was huge, at least 7 feet tall and encompassed in full body black cloak, holding a gleaming black scythe. He didn't know what it was doing, was it waiting for them?

We await the return of the prized.

The voice just seemed to… flow around them. It was completely different to spoken words, yet he still heard it, felt it. It sounded ancient, yet powerful.

Grover was lost for words, same with Perseus, though Perseus was more in awe of the figure, Grover looked shit scared, as if he knew the danger that they were in. However, before anything could happen, they heard a slow clop, clop, clop of what must've been… Hooves? Hooves from behind them, Perseus turned to see a horse, wait, no it wasn't, it was a fucking centaur, and the human portion of the creature was his ex-teacher, Mr Brunner.

"Holy shit", Perseus said.

The figure on the road brandished his scythe in response to the arrival.

"Nothing is holy about this, my boy", Brunner replied. "Begone, cousin. You are not welcome on this plane."

I don't need your permission, Child.

"You will if you want a body to form in this plane within the next millennia."

A dark laugh was the answer.

Chiron stepped forward, in front of Grover and Perseus, down the steps to face the being face on. There were a few seconds of tense silence, before Perseus started to feel his head spin a little bit, he stumbled back. Grover glanced at him in a worry, grabbing his shoulder to stabilize him.

Unbeknown to the pair, Mr. Brunner's eyes had turned golden. The air thickened, condensing around him as his Aura affected the environment around him.

Another dark laugh.

Within the blink of an eye, the cloaked figure rushed towards Mr. Brunner and slashed his scythe, to cut the neck off the Centaur. Not wasting a second, the Centaur made a backhand motion which sent both Grover and Perseus flying backwards, and he made a maneuverer to angle his horse body away from the scythe. Using his longbow, he notched two arrows and fired, striking both shoulders of the cloaked figure. A dark shockwave rippled from the strikes. It stumbled forward before it spun around and rushed again towards the centaur at unholy speeds, at least, in Perseus' eyes.

Grover stood up and said to Perseus, "Go, we need to go, now". They started jogging down the street, away from the school, when Perseus looked over his shoulder and saw the figure again swinging at his ex-teacher, only for him to dodge the swing, and strike the figure with an open palm, sending it flying across the street out of sight.

"Grover, what the actual fuck is going on?" Perseus said, panting.

"Man, I'm so sorry, but we only waste time if I try and explain it now" Grover said. Perseus wanted to press him, but they kept jogging down the street, and he decided not to talk. It felt like mere minutes until they reached his apartment block, ascending the stairs up to his mother's apartment. He opened the door and slammed it shut behind him and Grover and crashed on the couch. Perseus felt his body start to shake, the events from the past few days catch up to him.

Doof

Doof

Doof

His heart was racing, his hands were in the front pocket of his hoodie, but he could feel them trembling.

He saw Grover's head pivot around, looking at him wide-eyed, and it sounded like he was shouting at him from the other side of a football field, "No! Perseus! Focus!" He slapped Perseus' face and said, "Perseus! Where's your mother!", as if on que, a woman in her night gown came out of the hallway, half asleep and confused.

"Perseus..? Wha-" She said, even more confused now.

"Mrs Jackson, my names Grover and I'm from Camp Half-Blood, Perseus needs to get there, now" Grover said.

A shadow fell over her face.

"I waited too long, didn't I?" This was said by the woman with a near whisper, almost as if she was talking to herself. "Of course I did, please, Grover, call me Sally". She moved to the kitchen and filled two glasses of water, one of which she handed to Grover, who happily accepted it. The other, she splashed on her son's head.

"Fucking hell! Wait, wow... That felt good. Mum? When did you get out here?" Perseus babbled, before he rushed into her arms, hugging her for dear life. "You… would not… believe the shit I've seen the past few days", He said, the words muffled since he was talking into her neck.

She slapped his head, "Language! And yes, I think I would. I'm so sorry, I didn't want to keep you in the dark, but the less you knew, the safer you were. Perseus… the world isn't what it thinks it is."

"I mean, I could've told you that after the last couple days", was the snarky reply.

Sally laughed, "You have your father's sass".

"Who was he! Why is this happening to me?" The boy said.

She smiled, caught in memories. Perseus shook her shoulders, "Tell me, please mum!"

"Your father… he is a God." She said

"Like Thor? Can I fly?!" The boy's face lit up with a childish excitement, one of the rare times his true age was shown to the world.

Sally laughed again, "No Perseus, your father's Greek, Poseidon, the God of the Seas"

"…"

"Holy shit"

Thud

"Language!", the mother said. "It will all be explained to you in more detail in another time, please, no questions because I'm running out of time, it won't be long before the apartment is in danger of the people after you. Are you all packed?"

"Yes", "Yes", were the replies.

Perseus so desperately wanted to have answers, to ask a million questions, even to wake up from this dream/nightmare he was somehow in. But instead, he still said nothing more than was necessary to get to this "camp" that was apparently so important.

"Good, come to the bathroom". They followed sally up to the bathroom, where she started filling the bath up with water.

"Are we… having a group therapy bath? Damn, that might just be what I need" Perseus said, sarcastically.

Sally didn't deign to give him an answer, instead she looked in the bottom cabinet of the bathroom, pulling out a jar with what looked like… sand? Weird Perseus thought.

She poured the full jar into the water, and it started bubbling and turning green. It made a vibrating sound as well, the bathtub was rattling in its frame. But Sally was making no motion to stop the flowing water or was worried about the rattling.

Then they heard a loud thud,

"What the fuck is all that noise? SALLY IS THAT A FUCKINGEARTHQUAKE?!" Perseus' blood ran cold, that was the voice of his beloved stepdad, Gabe. They could hear a rushed movement while he found his bearings and put clothes on.

"Get in, both of you get in." She said to the boys.

"WHATS THAT FUCKING NOISE?!" Another scream

"…Like… with our packed bags?"

"Yes. Lock the door behind me." She moved to exit the bathroom, but she looked back at the boys again briefly.

"Grover… thank you, look after him" He nodded. "Perseus… I love you" The boy nearly had tears in his eyes, the sudden danger and mood switch in the room rattling him again. By then the water had started bubbling ferociously.

She moved out the room and Perseus locked the door, but he placed his right hand on the door and whispered, "I love you too…"

"Gabriel! What woke you up hun" They could hear from the other side.

But Grover pulled him away from the door, "Quick, he said, get in the bath I think I know what's going to happen".

So, they got in, surprisingly they didn't get wet, neither did their belongings.

Someone started banging on the bathroom door and trying to open it, but the lock held.

As if on que, the two boys started turning into sand, Perseus felt his eyes closing, melting into the madness.

Authord Note: Sorry about the year long wait. I want to try and post more frequently, and I felt like this chapter was messy. I might revise it in later chapters and clean it up, but its the start of my revival for now. Enjoy!
