I DON'T OWN SUPERGIRL
CHAPTER 9
"What is the current status of the metallo forces?" A woman said.
A man with a clipboard and lab coat walked beside examining the production of their kryptonite enforced army.
"Yes, they're almost complete. This army will be ready in five days and soon the Kryptonians will perish, Miss Luther." The man said.
"And what of this mysterious armored character that interfered with our last objective?" Lillian asked the man in the white coat.
That white and blue armored character saved Supergirl from their latest invention to rid of Supergirl for good. How dare he? He even took down a whole platoon assigned to kill Supergirl once her powers were blown.
"We currently don't even know who this man is or if he's even Kryptonian at all. Based on the footage; he moves like that of a soldier but none of the data we gathered from the military matches with this armored man's stature. He's anonymous." He answered.
Lillian was in deep thought. Thinking of a way to find out who the man is she get rid of him as well. That's when it hits her... She can use her little army to draw him and Supergirl out.
A sinister smile appeared on her wrinkling face. She walked away without another word exchanged with the man with her. This is going to be fun.
"How are you here? you've a daughter? That's amazing!"
Ethan had so many questions and very little answers. Samantha was trying her best not to tear up at the sight of her best friend and surrogate brother. It's been 14 years since she left Reach and everyone she loved behind.
"Wolf?" Sam said shocking Ethan the nickname she gave him years ago.
Sam started to tear up letting it all fall down here face. Ethan couldn't help but hug her tightly. She must have been so alone since leaving. His only wish was that it wasn't just him and Sam but the two of them and Kat
It was then he remembered that she came in with her little girl, a little girl no more than twelve years old. Ruby was just staring at him with questions in mind.
Sam calmed down and motioned for her daughter to come near. Ruby hugged her mother and hid behind her keeping her eyes on the tall man in front.
"Ruby, this is Ethan. Ethan, this is your niece, Ruby." She said to him and he couldn't help but smile.
"Hi." Ruby said timidly
Ethan kneeled down so that the two were eye level. He noticed that she looked just like Sam, only that she didn't share their icy blue eyes.
"It's an honor to meet you, Ruby."
Kara thought the reunion was heart warming. She met Samantha during a video interview with Lena weeks ago and noticed she had the same kind of eyes as Ethan and even had the same scars on their hands.
"Reach!" Kara yelled out but it confused Lena until she looked at her computer monitor where she conducting an interview a very likely CEO candidate.
She saw Samantha go wide eyed from hearing that word. Lena then remembered that Kara said the planet's name not a command.
"You're a Spartan 2, raised to be a super soldier to fight a war against an army called the Covenant. You share his eyes and scars. Ethan's eyes and scars."
When Kara finished, Samantha was shaking.
'He's alive? Wolf is alive? Is the war over? Or is he not the only one here?'
"Samantha? Are you okay, Lass?" Lena asked her with concern lacing her voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine. where is Ethan? Is he okay? Where's my brother?!" She almost screamed that last one out.
"He's here in National City, and working for CatCo. He's okay, for the most part, but I think he's still adjusting to not fighting a war still. He's been here a few months now." Kara answered her questions.
"Miss Luther, I accept the position and all responsibilities that comes with it." Sam says calmly as she gets up and starts taking suit cases out her closet.
What shocked them the most was when she pulls out a weapons case and firearms from on top of the closet. Lena never knew from her file that she carried guns.
"How soon can you get here, Miss Arias?"
"I have a free things to finish here before I arrive, so a couple of weeks."
"We'll see you soon then. Bye for now."
"And that's all that's happened before I crashed here. Reach has fallen, but at a massive cost. The Pillar of Autumn was the last known transport to make it off world."
After they hugged a long time, to which was understandable, Ethan explained what transpired since she'd disappeared all those years ago.
Kat...
Jorge...
Gone...
"Must've been a long war for the rest of you, huh?" Sam said.
Ethan nodded. He had Ruby in his lap. The little one took a long to him almost immediately and fallen asleep while he was telling past events. Something was bugging him that didn't make much sense.
"When they gave us the serum, we were told that all Spartans would be sterile, and yet you've a child that's identical to you but no blue eyes of a Spartan." He says to her.
Sam gave an understanding smile but told him that it's a long story for another time. Kara was also sitting next to Ethan holding his free hand in hers. She had no idea that they did that to him and the others. That's not right.
J'onn and M'gann left about an hour ago since it was getting crowded.
Alex, who was sitting on the couch with Astra and Cat, was looking around the living room noticing that Lena went missing.
"Hey, Kar? Where did Lena go?"
Kara listens for her heartbeat and noticed that it came from her room. Why was Lena in her room? Did she become little? That wouldn't do since Little Lena didn't come out unless it's just them.
The blonde got up to see what she was up to but before she could move away from the couch, Lena came running out into the living space wearing Kara's Supergirl uniform. She was making whooshing noises.
Then she came crashing down on Kara's lap giggling up a storm while everyone else who were not the guests were a little worried since Little Lena is out in front of people they don't know. Ethan caught on quick with what was happening.
"Hey, baby girl, what are you doing out? And in my costume?" Kara asked not wanting to say suit by accident.
Little Lena was about to answer when the news on the TV came through. It was showing a picture of Ethan in his armor fighting the platoon with Supergirl in a shield of some sorts.
NEWS LADY: IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL WEEKS SINCE THE ARMORED SOLDIER SAVED SUPERGIRL AND THE CIVILIANS FROM A TRAIN THAT WOULD HAVE FALLEN INTO A RAVINE IF NOT FOR THIS WHITE AND BLUE ARMORED MAN. WHO IS THIS MAN?, WHERE DID HE COME FROM? IS HE LIKE SUPERGIRL OR IS HE LIKE GUARDIAN?
Kara turned the TV off not wanting to watch anymore since she's bored now. She went over to Lena, picked her up and went into her nursery that Kara and Astra built last year. The blonde told Ethan that she'll be in there for a bit.
Ethan couldn't help but smile at how small Lena looked when she cuddled up to Kara. Happiness, sadness, then pain came rushing into his mind and heart. The weight in his arms removed Ethan that he's holding his niece who's still asleep.
"She's been up a few days, so she's really tapped out. Is it okay we stay here until tomorrow? We don't have a place to stay just yet."
"Yes, I'll get the other spare room prepared and we'll chat a bit more, okay?"
"Okay." Sam said.
Ethan went to the nursery where Kara and little Lena were in and leaving the others in the living area. Though he did, reluctantly, handed Ruby back to her mother.
He missed her.
But you can't bring the dead back to life. No matter how much you want to.
"Well now, this is interesting. I didn't know Lena was a regressor. When did that happen?" Ethan said as he walked into the nursery.
Lena was now in a little raccoon onesie that consisted with a raccoon hoodie. She had a blue Supergirl branded paci and a homemade red cape on the back of her outfit. Kara had Lena on her lap in the rocking chair going back and forth trying to get her to be calm for a story.
"About two years now. She grew up too early when she was adopted by the Luthers and she confided in me that she wanted another childhood but she didn't know how. So I found a way with help from Alex." The blonde explain.
Ethan was leaning against the doorframe watching the two girls. Kara could sense and feel his love and warmth and it made her smile bigger. Lena looked like she was about to sleep so Kara continued to rock her back and forth. stroking her hair and sniffing the sweet scent of baby shampoo.
"Mama...seepy... night night." Lena sleepily says before her eyes drooped shut.
"Night night, my little raccoon. I love you."
Kara got up to put Lena in her crib, covered her with her Supergirl blankie, turned on the night light, and left the door cracked.
"She's adorable, but I think we all knew that, yeah?"
Kara giggled at his observation. Lena thought Kara to be more of a mother to get than Lillian. Had Lena not been rescued by Kara in the helicopter incident, the poor girl would've been turned into a metallo by her mother.
That's a thought Kara got rid of fast as it came.
'I'll do anything to protect my family. Lillian and Lex just love to kill. Nothing more.'
"I sense your distress. They'll be protected, I'll make sure of it." Ethan stated "Sam and Ruby don't have a place here in the city just yet so I was curious if they can stay until they find one?" He asked.
Kara smiled so lovingly at him that it's impossible to say no to him. She can sense that there's more of the reason of letting the girls stay but she won't prompt him of the reason why.
"Yes, they're your family and it's been a long time since you seen Sam." Kara said.
Ethan had tears brimming in his eyes that they are just about to shed. The smile he gave was a huge, toothy, genuine smile. His heart filled with more love for the wonderful beauty in front of him.
The redhead leaned down to kiss her softly and she gladly kissed him back. When they pulled back Kara noticed the tears were falling down his face.
"Thank you... for everything, my love." He says before heading to tell his sister they can stay until further noticed.
"I should be thanking you for being the true love of my life." Kara said to herself.
I HOPE THIS EXTENDED CHAPTER IS BETTER THAN THE SHORTER ONE.
I'M STARTING TO WRITE AN ORIGINAL STORY BOOK AND THINKING OF PUTTING MY NEW PEN NAME ON HERE.
