Chapter 33
Claudia's Victory...
Donna could see the hesitation in Polybius's eyes. It was evident that, despite how badly everything had gone, now knowing that a lot of what had happened had been forced, had gotten through to Polybius. And now, he was showing that he still had feelings for her.
However, now the question was, did he love Donna more or fear Claudia more?
"Do it, Polybius!" Claudia ordered, "Or I'll do something even worse to you as well!"
Polybius looked up at Claudia and then at Donna. He then looked back up at Claudia before looking at Donna again.
Donna didn't really know what to say or what to do. She didn't want to fight Polybius, but at the same time, Oblivion sounded like a really horrible place. And one that she didn't want to go to.
"Polybius, you have until the count of three to throw her in there!" Claudia barked at him as if he were a child, "One!"
Polybius then turned and locked eyes with Donna, and she could see it in his eyes. That he was extremely sorry for what he was about to do.
Before Donna could react further, she felt one of Polybius's tentacles wrap around her. She tried to resist him, but Polybius's grip was simply too strong. He then turned towards the door to Oblivion and began marching towards it.
"Polybius, don't!" Donna begged, "We can fight her! You can fight her! You don't have to do this!"
Her words, however, fell on deaf ears as Polybius, now fighting back tears, continued to march on.
"Please!" Donna begged.
As Donna hopelessly tried to reason with Polybius, Claudia laughed as she watched Donna's world collapse around her. Claudia knew the two still had feelings for each other and couldn't help but enjoy seeing her hard work pay off as she finally ripped the two apart. She knew that if she ever decided to pull Donna out of Oblivion, she would never forgive Polybius for throwing her in here. This was indeed the final nail in the coffin, and she would finally have Polybius all to herself.
Now at the door itself, Polybius peered into the pitch-black void. Donna, who was still behind him, could also see the blackness that almost seemed to be leaking into the room they were in. It was the blackest black Donna had ever seen, and there was also a level of icy coldness blowing out of the void as well.
"Polybius!" Donna managed out.
The mute didn't look back as he stared into the void. However, he didn't stare long and moved to throw her into Oblivion.
Looking back at her one last time, Donna could see the tears in his eyes. Never had she seen him so upset over anything.
"I love you!" Donna managed out right before Polybius threw her into Oblivion.
Using his full force, Polybius threw the young Amazon into Oblivion. She didn't disappear into the blackness like one would expect. Instead, Polybius watched her float in the endless void before the door shut.
"Well done, Polybius!" Claudia congratulated, as the mute dropped to his knees, "I told you that you were better off with me! And that skank Donna Troy was no good for you."
Polybius began silently sobbing in front of the door as he knew what he had just sentenced her to. What he had just put her in.
"Oh, don't be so sad." Claudia said, "Most first loves never last anyway! In fact, the only love to last is ours!"
Polybius shook his head.
"Oh, come on!" Claudia groaned, "Don't tell me you still have feelings for that bitch! I may have made things worse, but a lot of her reactions were hers. And she doesn't love you! She was only telling you that so she could use you! Take advantage of you!"
Claudia, for the first time since the Titans had stepped foot on the peninsula, got up from her throne and used a ladder behind the chair to climb down to the ground. She then approached Polybius, who was still silently sobbing in front of the door.
"Come on." Claudia said, "Get up! And get over it! You chose to come back here!"
Polybius slowly did as he was ordered, forcing himself to stop crying.
"Now then!" Claudia said as she approached him, "Let me get a taste of those tears."
Claudia then forced Polybius down and licked the tear trails that were on his face. The taste of the salt was a good one for her as she now knew she had finally broken him and proven to him that what he had here was best.
"Claudia!" Doctor Wojtek called as he walked into the room.
"Ugh!" Claudia grounded as she stopped away from Polybius and looked back at the doctor, "What!?"
"Sorry to interrupt." Doctor Wojtek said, "However, the tribal leaders are waiting for you in conference room 4-B."
"They can wait!" Claudia shouted, "I am currently basking in the glory of my greatest victory! I don't give a DAMN what they want! They can wait on me!"
"So should I tell them that the meeting is going to be delayed until tomorrow?" Wojtek asked.
"Do that." Claudia said before having a sudden change of attitude and saying, "Actually, you know what? Since they are so rude to interrupt me, I think I'm going to take my frustrations out on them! Cause this moment is absolutely fucking ruined!"
Claudia then stormed across the massive throne room and past Wojtek. Her anger was irritating off her in waves, and Wojtek could feel it as she passed by him.
"Alright then." Wojtek said as she stormed away.
Wojtek then looked back at Polybius to see the young mutant silently sobbing again. He was now sitting, his knees tucked into his chest and head buried in his lap.
While Wojtek had never formally introduced himself to Polybius, he was quite aware of his plight. He knew what Claudia had done to him over the years to fuel her own sick sexual fantasies and had wanted to reach out to him to help. However, just like everyone else in this place, his fear of Claudia had kept him from ever doing so. In fact, the first time Polybius had attempted to escape, everyone had been ordered to hunt him down and bring him back to her. And he was in the room and had watched as Polybius came back and presented himself to her and begged for forgiveness when he still had his voice.
However, with Claudia now so focused on taking her anger and aggression out on the tribal leaders, this did provide a unique opportunity for the doctor to finally get acquainted with the young mute.
"Hey, there, young man." Wojtek said, approached, and knelt down by the mute.
Locking eyes, Wojtek didn't see the tough and brave Titan that Polybius was. He didn't see a fully grown and malleable young mutant that stood to dominate all the other mutants on the peninsula. Rather, deep in his eyes, he saw a young, scared, and hurt little boy. One who had never been shown kindness outside of the people he had just turned against.
"It's alright." Wojtek said, now opting to take a seat next to him, "I know it's rough. I've always wanted to reach out to you, but Claudia, you know."
The mute made no effort to respond as he continued to silently sob. This prompted Wojtek to try and comfort him.
While the pursuit of knowledge was what he had decided his purpose in life was, this was different. He was a doctor, after all, and doctors took care of people. And here was someone suffering. This was his higher calling.
"It's alright." Wojtek said, trying to comfort the scared child, "Things will get better. They always do."
When the doctor said those words, he wasn't sure if he was lying to the boy or not. However, anything to comfort him was better than nothing. He wished he had brought down his medical bag with him, as in there, he had a few different concoctions that could relax him. Give his red, swollen eyes a break from crying.
Wojtek wished he had more experience with these kinds of situations. Sure, he had treated every physical wound possibly imaginable and then some, but never had he treated a wound like this. Never had he encountered a patent with a wound he couldn't see. One, he couldn't just pull out a tool and patch up.
So with no real idea as to what to do, Wojtek decided just to sit with the boy. He wrapped an arm around him and let the young boy cry and cry.
The two stayed like this for a long time until Claudia's distinctive footsteps could be heard approaching the room. Worried about what Claudia would do to him if she saw him with Polybius, Wojtek forced the crying boy to break off of him, and Wojtek walked away from him, even though he didn't want to.
This was a good call on the doctor's part as those footsteps indeed belonged to Claudia, who now had blood on her face. It was clear that she had either done something to the tribal leaders or forced them to do something horrible to themselves.
"You're still in here?" Claudia asked.
"No, I was looking for you." Wojtek told her, "I had also wanted to inform you that my studies are going well."
"Ah, good." Claudia brushed off, "Now fuck off, will you!"
"Of course." Wojtek said.
Looking back over his shoulder, he could tell that he was successful in comforting Polybius. He had stopped sobbing and was now just curled up into a ball against the door to Oblivion.
For a moment, he was able to rest.
For a moment, he was content.
For a moment, he felt loved again.
Wojtek cursed his powerless position against Claudia as Polybius needed help. He wished he could take on Claudia and ram her headfirst into a wall. He wished he could sentence Claudia to Oblivion for everything she had ever done to Polybius.
Once Doctor Wojtek left the room, this left Claudia and Polybius alone again. Claudia could tell her love had been crying, upset over what had happened, as his jacket and shirt were both wet with tears. However, Polybius had clearly cried all of the tears he could, as no fresh ones were coming down his face.
"Now then!" Claudia said, "Where were we?"
As Claudia moved in on Polybius, elsewhere in the maze of halls and rooms, the Titans, having been defeated by Polybius, were now in a desperate situation of their own. They had been separated but closer to each other than they realized, with only a single wall separating one room from the next.
Starting at the end of the hall furthest from the throne room, Robin had been stripped of his shirt and had his arms tied out and legs tied down, exposing his bareback. Standing not that far behind him, one of Claudia's tortures had a whip and was flogging him.
Each stroke of the barbed tipped whip tore open a long, deep cut in Robin's back. The masked leader cried out each time the whip hit him.
In the room next door, Beast Boy, stripped of his powers, was now tied to a wheel that was slowly spinning. He was spread eagle, and as the wheel slowly turned, two of Claudia's torturers, one using a rubber mallet, and the other using a copper pipe, hit him as he spun around.
This had caused Beast Boy to have broken bones in several places. And every time they hit him, he screamed out in pain as bloody tears ran down his face. They were bloody due to a hit in the head he had already sustained.
Next to him was Starfire. The cannibals and mutants, used to the taste of themselves, were very eager and excited to find out how Tamaranean tasted. They had Starfire hung upside down and legs completely exposed. They had tied turner kits around them so she wouldn't bleed out and had begun to flay her.
Each bit of skin they took off, they passed down the line of hungry cannibals and mutants, who patiently waited for their turn to get a taste of the alien. The worst part of it all was, they were doing it in small pieces, so cannibals, who all looked exactly the same, would just go back to the end of the line to get another taste.
Next door to that was Cyborg, who, being half-machine, had tugged the curiosity of several of Oblivion's engineers.
The engineers had lots and lots of questions about the half-man, half-machine, and had taken him apart while he was still awake and began playing with his controls. And the thing they were trying to figure out is how he registered pain.
Using large shocks of electricity, they were seeing how much pain he could sustain before it was too much for him.
Next door was Raven. The cannibals and mutants of Oblivion didn't recognize her as part demon and assumed that, after eating a few of the female Titans earlier, she tasted the same. Instead, they decided to use her to test out different toxic chemical concoctions that had been created by Wojtek colleagues.
They had injected her with the first one, and Raven found herself in unbearable pain. The point of injection felt like it was being stabbed with a red hot steel knife. And then whoever was holding that knife was turning it around inside her. She was scared in pain and verbally begged someone to stop this.
And lastly was Terra. Terra's current torture was that she had become the target in target practice.
A cannibal wielding a crossbow, and using blunt-tipped bolts, was taking aim at her. Terra had been chained, so she couldn't move and had a target painted on her bare chest.
The tip of the bolt had been painted blue as well, so when it hit her, there would be a blue mark on her body. And right now, there were several blue marks all over her body from a few intentional misses.
However, none of the Titans had it worse than poor Donna Troy.
In Oblivion, Donna was simultaneously existing and not existing. She was rapidly bouncing back and forth between the two, and this was causing her body an immense amount of absolutely unimaginable and unbearable pain.
Letting out a scream of pain into the endless void, Donna felt as if her entire body was on fire, being stabbed, cut open, smacked, shot, and frozen all at once. She had a raging headache due to all of the pain signals being sent to her brain. However, for whatever reason, Oblivion did not allow her to go into a state of shock and forced her to endure the never-ending pain.
This torment went on for hours while Claudia had her way with Polybius. Once she was finished sexually molesting him, she left him alone in the small room he was permitted to have and call his own.
The young mutant curled up into a ball and began silently sobbing some more.
What the Titans didn't know, nor would ever know, is that Polybius had gone to great lengths to protect them.
After the rejection, Polybius did decide that he was indeed done with the outside world. He decided that since everyone had turned their backs on him, that they did not want him anymore. All because he said 'no.'
However, while Polybius had lost all of his love for the outside world, he still did not want it subjected to Claudia's wrath. Therefore, rather than just up and leave, prompting the Titans to search for him, he decided to make it look like he killed himself, knowing Claudia wouldn't let him do it. He knew that as soon as the explosion began, Claudia would teleport him back to the peninsula before it could hurt him.
He was hoping that by doing this, it would keep Claudia's attention inward rather than outward. However, Polybius could not account for her sending the cannibals and mutants out to do her deeds.
Claudia had killed millions of people, and since all of the killers looked like Polybius, theories had to arise as to what caused all of this. This had prompted the Titans to try and find Polybius's home, which they did, and find a weakness.
What they didn't know is that Claudia had set up the whole thing.
Polybius himself had been blissfully unaware of what was going on, for as soon as he returned to Oblivion, Claudia began punishing him for leaving in the first place. So when he shoved him into The Processor, he was expecting it to be activated.
What he wasn't expecting was to see the Titans standing on the far side of the room.
And while Polybius did get some joy out of beating up Robin, Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, and Starfire for they had treated him, he got nothing out of Terra.
And then there was Donna.
Thinking about her just made Polybius weep. He had been sent to Oblivion before as a punishment for defying Claudia and knew just how bad it was. He had once sworn he would never send anybody there.
But now, none of that mattered.
Claudia had won. She had finally gotten ahold of the Titans and put an end to them. Polybius was unaware of Claudia's connection to Donna or Donna's connection to the peninsula either. He did see similarities in both Donna's and Claudia's physical appearances but never connected the dots as Claudia looked so much smaller, weaker, and sickly than Donna.
When Polybius looked at Donna, he didn't see Claudia. He saw someone who actually loved him. Who actually cared for him and wanted to see him do better. She was the first, and to an extent, the only person to ever show Polybius genuine kindness without an ulterior motive.
And quite frankly, Polybius would be happy to pursue a relationship with her right now if he could.
He thought that him saying 'no' was his own decision. He didn't realize that Claudia, who usually liked to force him to do things without using her powers over him, actually used her powers over him and forced him to say 'no.'
Meanwhile, Claudia had just given the order for all cannibals and mutants outside the peninsula to return home. And by return home, she was doing the same thing she had done to get them there, and that was teleporting them back.
However, this was now creating chaos on the peninsula. Claudia's angry outlash that left the leaders of the various tribes dead had now created a power vacuum in all of the tribes. The most powerful and smartest cannibals and mutants were now going head to head with each other and fighting for the right to call themselves the leader of their respective tribe.
But Claudia didn't care. She didn't care about the peninsula, the outside world, or anything much, really. She only cared about her Polybius and keeping him all to herself.
The only reason she had forbidden anyone from leaving the peninsula was that she didn't want the outside world coming to the peninsula. She didn't want to deal with any of that, so she kept them all here so they wouldn't cause any trouble, and she could entirely focus on Polybius.
Later that day, she decided she wanted to visit the masked leader of the Titans, Robin.
Walking down the hall, she could hear the screams of the Titans as they suffered her endless torment. It was music to her ears as she opened the door at the end of the hall.
"Enough." Claudia ordered as the tormentors were setting up their next method to torture him, "I want to talk."
Wordlessly acknowledging their superior, the tormentors tied Robin up the wall so he could face her and brought her a chair.
"Alright." Claudia said as she took a seat, "Robin! Dick Grayson! How are you?"
Robin refused to respond, even though he was perfectly capable of doing so. Claudia had used her powers so that every hour, on the hour, the Titans would completely heal from their injuries and had also disabled their ability to die. When she walked in, Robin was in just as good of health as when he first stepped foot on the peninsula.
"Aw, don't be like that!" Claudia groaned, "Speak!"
Again, Robin refused.
"Fine then." Claudia said before turning to one of the tormentors and ordering, "You! Cut off his thumbs."
"What do you want?" Robin gritted out between his teeth, causing Claudia to signal to the torture to stop.
"Just to talk." Claudia said, "I want to know how it feels to be defeated?"
"We're not beaten!" Robin spat back.
"Oh, I think you all are." Claudia said, "The Teen Titans are now my torture toys, so I can torture them whenever I please. That fucking bitch Donna Troy is in Oblivion, never to be seen or heard from again. But most importantly, Polybius is all mine! Forever and ever!"
"You killed Wonder Girl?" Robin asked.
"Worse." Claudia teased, "But I digress. I suppose you'd be happy to learn that I've recalled all the warriors and mutants back to this peninsula. Which means your little 'Jump City' is free from them at last."
"At the cost of how many?" Robin questioned.
"There is no price too high for my Polybius!" Claudia brushed off, "He was promised to me after all. And I'm going to stop anyone who would get in the way of that."
"This isn't over!" Robin repeated, "People will come looking for us!"
"Or you all are just more casualties in the mutant scourge." Claudia said, "I mean, I've done what Trigon nor the Brotherhood of Evil could do, and that is completely defeat the Teen Titans. All the Titans have been killed. You and your little founders group are all that's left. The rest are dead. As well as a large portion of the Justice League! Why even the mighty Wonder Woman was also one of my torture toys until you all showed up! And Themyscira is destroyed! All because Polybius decided to leave me."
"This isn't his fault!" Robin countered.
"Oh, is very much is." Claudia countered, "He knew I would stop at nothing to get him back. He knew it was only a matter of time before I finally got him back. Even if I had to personally drag him from that damned tower of yours myself."
"Someone will stop you!" Robin spat back.
"And just tell me who?" Claudia asked, "I am GOD!"
Robin didn't respond to this, but Claudia decided to tease him even more.
"You know, despite how badly you all treated Polybius, even in the end, he did try to protect you from me." Claudia teased.
"Huh?" Robin questioned.
"He didn't want you to come here and did everything he could to make sure you guys wouldn't." Claudia said.
"But why?" Robin asked, "Why come after us after you got Polybius back."
"Well, I have a set of reasons for Donna." Claudia stated, "However, after seeing how badly you all had been treating Polybius for years- my Polybius for years! I just can't let that go unpunished! You all have to pay for what you did to him! Startup the torture again!"
Claudia then watched as the tormentors moved in, and Robin began to scream in pain as they began making deep, precision cuts into his skin. She grabbed a nearby cup, which was made out of the skull, and let his blood flow into it. Once full, she then forced him to watch as she took a big drink from it.
"Ah…" Claudia said, satisfied, "Your blood does taste good, but not as good as Wonder Woman's. Too bad, this skull is all that's left of her."
Claudia then dumped the rest of the blood on the ground and left the room as Robin screamed from being tortured.
As Claudia was having this conversation with Robin meanwhile, Polybius had picked himself up and dragged himself out of his room. However, instead of going to a spot where he had gone to in the past to hide, this time, he went right back to the throne room and the door to Oblivion.
It had been a full twelve hours since Polybius had thrown Donna into Oblivion. Twelve hours, and Polybius could hardly imagine how much she hated him right now.
That was if she was even able to think about anything other than the pain she was in.
"Polybius!" Claudia said, surprised to see him as he walked in.
Claudia was holding her Wonder Woman skull cup and now had Raven's blood in it.
"Godamnit, Polybius!" Claudia said, "Get over here already!"
Polybius didn't move or acknowledge her as he just sat in front of the door.
"Get up, Polybius!" Claudia ordered as she approached him.
Polybius, this time, did as he was told. However, by the time he stood up, Claudia was standing right next to him.
"You wanna see her?" Claudia asked him, "Then let's have a look!"
Claudia then wrapped her arm around Polybius, and the door opened. In front of them, not too far away, was Donna.
"There she is." Claudia said, "Endlessly floating around in the void. In endless pain with no hope of escape."
Polybius could hear Donna's screams and cries of pain. He could tell she was in tears.
"You did this to her." Claudia told him, "You were the one who went and fell in love with her. You were the one who said there was something out there better for you than me. YOU were the one who brought her here, Polybius! This is all your fault!"
Polybius once again found himself fighting tears.
"If you had never left me, Donna would be alive and well. Probably on Themyscira, with all of her Amazon friends." Claudia teased him.
At this point, Claudia now left his side and began walking towards the ladder to her throne.
"But because you decided to leave me, I had to destroy her, her family, her friends, her home. All because of you!"
Polybius shook his head.
"Yes, it's all your fault!" Claudia said, "How else do you want me to put it to you? I sound like a broken record player at this point! It's your fault, Polybius!"
Claudia sat in her seat on her throne right above the processor and began using her powers.
"Now then." Claudia started, "I don't want you ever leaving me again! You hear me!?"
Polybius sadly nodded as he continued to watch Donna suffer.
"Good!" Claudia said, "Now, don't mind me, but I'm going to make sure the rest of the outside world forgets us as well!"
Polybius looked up at Claudia with a confused look on his face.
"And I'm going to do it by whatever means necessary!" Claudia declared, "And the first step is to shield this peninsula off from the rest of the world. And I'm going to do that by sending everyone who knows about this peninsula outside of this peninsula to Oblivion!"
Polybius went wide-eyed as Claudia finished that sentence. An untold number of people were about to be sent to join Donna in Oblivion.
Looking back into Oblivion, Polybius watched as he started seeing new people suddenly appear in the endlessly black void.
And there you have it, Chapter 33! I know it's been a long time since I've uploaded for this story, but this story's reception hasn't justified it. However, I don't want to leave this story on a cliffhanger, and it's also really close to being done. So with that being said, I hope you enjoyed this chapter, please let me know what your think about it, and as always, have a good one!
