Tenille

Kate's disappearance and Jeanette's fall from grace had benefited Tenille Peterson in so many ways. She had been instantly catapulted up the social ladder, her status as one of Kate's two former closest friends giving her a sort of dark street cred that drew people in. Once it became known after her escape that Kate had latched onto Mallory Higgins, a social leper and former confidante of Jeanette Turner, the opportunities came rolling in. Tenille suddenly found herself at the best parties with the hottest guys.

The ultimate prize was now within reach at last. Jamie Henson. There was no one and nothing in Tenille's way anymore, except perhaps her mother's stupid blunder; after Kate disappeared, her mother had spread the word about having information on Jeanette and had later recanted, making herself and Tenille by association look like fools. Enough time had passed now that people were starting to forget, interested only in the details of what it had been like in Kate Wallis' inner circle. Tenille did not hesitate to trade on their curiosity, especially where Jamie was concerned.

Tenille had waited patiently, watching as Kate grew bored with him before ending up in Martin Harris' clutches. Tenille had been in love with Jamie since middle school. Tonight was the night she would give herself to him completely. She wandered Skylin Mall in search of him, passing a Cinnabon store. The aroma made her mouth water. She had been starving herself for months now, and her body was perfect, ready and waiting for Jamie.

How it had sickened her when Jamie got involved with Jeanette Turner, the one person who deserved Jamie the least. Jeanette's transformation had been interesting to watch, but she was still the same socially awkward nerd she had always been, unfit for someone so out of her league like Jamie was. Tenille was the perfect match, and she knew it, and soon Jamie would, too, if she could just find him.

Her mother had left early this morning, or she had never come home last night. Maybe she had found her perfect match too, at last. It would be great if her mother found someone, then she wouldn't be following Tenille's every move, trying to live vicariously through her. It was suffocating, and annoying, and Tenille had big plans for this fall that didn't involve constant surveillance. If all went as planned, she and Jamie would be engaged by Christmas.

"Where the fuck are you?" she muttered caustically, picking up speed. Hot Topic was waiting to distract her. Maybe she could find some interesting earrings to wear tonight, and something new for her belly button piercing. His initial, maybe, to show him she was all his if he wanted her. He had to want her. She had waited so long.
