Chapter 4: First Day of UA

"Beep Beep Beep!"

"Shut up, I'm coming!"

"Beep Beep Beep!"

"Fuck off! Let me get out of the shower!"

An energy blast made its way from the bathroom to the alarm clock. The clock exploded into little pieces and became silent. I step out of the shower and dry off.

"Now I'm pissed. Why did I even get that thing? I wake up at four in the morning on my own". With a towel wrapped around my waist, I walk over to the remnants of the clock and stomp on what's left. "Stupid clock".

It has been two weeks since the entrance exams. Since then I have been traveling to Universe 500.9 and sparring with Hop. She kept her promise of not tearing me in two, but she would just about. Oftentimes the medics at the bar would have to keep me there overnight to properly heal me.

The training worked however. My experience with fighting none-human combatants had greatly increased. My punches sometimes even got through to Hop. However I quickly learned that she didn't even need to dodge my punches. When I had struck her in the stomach she didn't even budge. I then got six broken ribs from the counter she had given.

Looking around at the small apartment, I checked to make sure that I didn't forget anything. It was a relatively small area. It had no furniture unless you count the sleeping bag. It had one outlet which had previously had my alarm clock. In the corner I had put some senzu plants so that I could grow a new supply. You can never have too many senzu beans.

There was a small balcony that could only fit three people and to the left of the balcony was the entrance to my bathroom. Inside a shower and a sink. There was some trash from last night's meal. Grabbing a trash bag, I start putting the plastic containers into it.

I adjust my tie and exit the apartment building, locking it behind me. Wasn't too worried about people breaking in though. What would they steal, my sleeping bag? That would be a dick move.

After making my way down the stairs, I take aim at an open dumpster across the street. Throwing it to the right, it gets caught in the wind and swerves straight into it.

Taking a few steps, I begin a slight jog to make my way to the school. Granted, a small jog to me is still about eight meters per second.

As I make my way through the streets, I start to look around at the city. Being a bright and sunny day it was perfect for a jog. Other people gave me looks as I ran past but quickly went back to what they were doing.

Finally arriving at UA, I make my way inside. A letter from the school told me I would be in class 1-A. It also stated that the costume that he had requested arrived from Universe 1. He wouldn't be using today, but it was good to know that it was here.

I finally came across the room that read 1-A on the front. Upon making my way inside, it hits me that I'm the only one here. That's what happens when you arrive thirty minutes early.

Taking a seat at the back left of the class, I noticed that my seat seemed to be seperate from the others. While the others had a perfect place in the 4x5 seating arrangement, mine was the odd one out with no desks around me except in front of me. Nezu did say that normally this class had twenty students. With my situation, it is safe to say things would be different for me.

I take out a history book and start studying. If I was to do well in this school my knowledge of this world's history would need to improve.

After about five minutes, the door to the classroom opens. Looking up, I recognize the glasses male from the ceremony. He looks my way and I greet him with a nod.

"It seems I am not the first one hear. Although that is a first it is good to see other students taking this seriously. And it appears you are already studying." glasses male walks to my desk.

"This world's history is still new to me. If I am to keep my grades up, I must study to keep up." My comment seemed to confuse him.

"This wor…, oh" He is hit with realization."You must be that exchange student from that new universe I have heard so much about. To say I was surprised by your existence is an understatement. It must be hard, trying to adjust to a new place."

"If we are to be classmates, you can always ask me to help you with your studies. It would be a shame for someone with so much potential to fail because he hadn't any knowledge of this history." he replied.

Giving him a nod, "Thank you, I may take you up on that offer. I just hope my eardrums don't get ruptured again."

Glasses male then had another bout of realization. "You're the kid I accused of disrespecting the teacher." He then stiffed up and bowed. "Allow me to apologize for my rudeness. It did not occur to me that you had been injured. Please forgive me."

Caught off guard by the sudden shift my only answer was, "Oh, Ok. You are forgiven." I then stand up and offer my hand. "I'd like to keep my full name a secret. But for now you can call me Leo."

He looked at my hand and accepted the handshake. "Tenya Iida, let's both become the best heroes we can be." After shaking hands, Tenya made his way to his seat on the right side of the room.

After a few minutes, other students began arriving. Tenya went and greeted all of them. His announcements made me learn everybody's name. That wasn't always necessary though. When Tokoyami and Tsu came in they both went to the back of the room to greet me. Some students didn't even bother talking to Iida as they walked past him and to their seats.

One particular student with red hair on his left and white hair on his right glanced in my direction. He seemed to take notice of the scars on my arm that was obvious I was trying to hide. It must have reminded him of his own scar on his face. Unlike with the others he didn't give me a hostile look. Instead he looked at me with what seemed like he could relate too.

A blond student came in and immediately told Iida to shove it and went to his seat. This prompted Iida to try to correct his demeanor. After a brief exchange I learned that this student was Katsuki Bakugou, the guy who placed number one on the entrance exams. They guy certainly carried himself like he was powerful. His energy was higher than the average person but my belief was that his quirk must have been extremely strong.

The door opened again to reveal the muttering green haired kid. Iida seemed to notice this and chopped his way to the newcomer. Bakuguo scowled at the green haired kid, who ended up being named Izuku Midoriya.

"Those two have history" I thought. Midoriya seemed to be trying to avoid Bakugou's gaze and seemed to be incredibly shy. The killing intent that ran off the blond had increased tenfold when he walked in. Something that I may want to keep an eye on.

Behind Midoriya, a girl by the name of Ochako Uraraka entered the conversation. She seemed to have a bubbly personality. She helped me realize real quick that Midoriya didn't have many female friends. When she got close he tried to hide behind his hands and he was blushing to the point that he looked like his head was going to explode.

I notice movement behind the group at the door. After taking a moment to register what it was I clap my hands together to get everybody's attention. "The teacher is here. We should get to our seats."

At that moment everybody else noticed Mr Aizawa in a sleeping bag at the doorway. This prompted everybody to move into their assigned seats.

"Thank you Leo, but even with your warning it took you six seconds to shut up" he made his way to the front podium. All eyes were on him as he straightened out a group of papers. "My name is Mr Aizawa. I will be your home room teacher."

He then pulled out some blue uniforms from his bag. "Go to the changing room and put these on. Then meet me on the training field."

We all got up and started making our way out the door. When Aizawa gave me my uniform I stared at it. Then putting my hand on my chest, I use the clothes beam to manifest it on. Taking the liberty to also put sleeves on it in the process. Aizawa raised an eyebrow but said nothing.

After fifteen minutes, the entire class was on the sideline of a major field that stretched out hundreds of meters. 1-A's teacher had taken a roll call to make sure everyone was finished changing then proceeded talking.

"Normally the school sends you to an assembly that welcomes you to the school. I however do things differently. You will each perform a fitness test using your quirks and…" he glances at me. "...other abilities to gauge where you are in your training."

"Bakugou, you placed first in the entrance exams right. What was your best throw in grade school?" Aizawa had passed the ball to the blonde.

"About forty meters," replied Bakugou. Our teacher nodded, then pointed to the outfield.

"Throw that ball as hard as you can but use your quirk as well". Bakugou sneered at that information. He walked up to the plate and pulled his arm back.

"DIE" he yells as an explosion goes off as he throws the ball into the distance. After a while a notification popped up on Aizawa's phone. He revealed it to us showing that the ball went 702.5 meters.

So his quirk was that he can create explosions, huh? Well that could become a very versatile power. If used correctly he could become a true master of close combat.

"The fitness examinations in the past prevented usage of quirks to even things out. But that just gave us the lie that everyone is equal. But these tests will put you on your actual level of skill." Our teacher finished his speech and the students started whispering to themselves.

"This is so cool" "Yeah UA is the best" "This is going to be so fun"

Uh oh. They said the one word you never say in front of a teacher.

Fun

"Fun, you say" Aizawa's energy seemed to spike menacingly. "You think this is fun. Well in that case how about this? The person who comes in last, or any who fail to meet my expectations, gets expelled."

There was uproar from the students. Some called his punishment unfair while others called it insane. I personally saw it as a way to target the week. Was he amongst them? Let's find out.

"It's not unfair." The other students looked at me with surprise. "The world is dangerous and our entire lives we have lived behind a wall that both protected us not just physically but mentally from evil's glance. By accepting this job we are volunteering to fight on the other side of that wall. We will need to prove that we are strong enough to survive."

The other students had a new look of respect in their eyes. Aizawa nodded at my comment. "Even other universes know the hardships of hero work. I'm guessing your master must have taught you well."

The kid known as Denki Kaminari spoke up. "Wait, other universes? Is this that kid that is the exchange student from that new world?

The black haired girl put her hand to her chin. "That would explain why he is much older than the rest of us. But that would also mean that…"

"He's quirkless" Bakugou cut her off. "Which means he is getting expelled here and now because he is worthless."

I turned to him. "Then by all means try. But don't think that I'm here simply for political reasons. Let me show you how powerful I really am."

And so the tests began.

The first one was a 50 meter timed race. Everyone went two at a time with me in the back of the pack by myself. Iida and Tsu went first. Tsu's quirk I was aware of but was taken off guard when Iida had boosters pop out of his calf. He burst past Tsu and got a time of 3.04 seconds. Tsu however still had an impressive time of 5.58 seconds.

Others took their turn with Yaoyorozu using a staff to propel her across and Todoroki using his ice to slide across. By the time it was my turn however, Iida still had the high score.

Walking up to the starting line, I bent down and took a starting stance. Pushing my feet into the dirt to prepare to propel myself for a fast acceleration. Something the jet quirk user didn't possess much of.

"I'm betting he only beats Deku." Bakugou told the red haired kid known as Kirishima. Others looked on in pity, preparing for the man in front of them to fail miserably. Midoriya however was on edge and was curious as to how the quirkless guy in front of him got 26 villain points.

When the time began I shot off at my max speed I could obtain. Before others knew it, my feet crossed the finished line. Aizawa looked down at his phone and then revealed it to the others.

3.22 seconds

"What the hell!" Bakugou looked like he might pass out. He wasn't the only one. Others still didn't even realize what had happened.

"I've pushed my body to the breaking point my entire life. It is much stronger than the average person's. Not only that but I also possess great knowledge on techniques that increase my combat power. I may not have a quirk, but I don't need one." That message was mainly pointed towards Bakugou but it appeared to affect the whole group.

"Alright, let's move on to the next test." Aizawa cut in. We all began moving to the next obstacle.

The second test was grip strength.

Everyone was given a dynamometer and were told to squeeze as hard as we could. I tightened my right hand around the device and waited until a beep was heard. Looking down, it read 450kg.

"Ha ha"

Then a screeching noise comes from my right. I noticed that the multi-armed student, or Mezo Shoji, had used his three hands on his right side to give him 520kg of force. He looks at me and my reply is only one word. "Show off"

The next test was the standing long jump. I cleared the sand gap with a single bound while others used their quirks to launch themselves. Bakugou exploded over the sand. Yaoyorozu created a cannon which she then placed mattresses on the other end the shot herself to the other side.

That was so new to me that I took a mental note to never challenge this girl to any competition when it came to brains. She seemed to be the smartest here.

Next test was repeated side steps which the short kid with purple balls on his head seemed to excel at. I did pretty well but still paled in comparison to him. However I still managed to get a large score, tying with Todoroki who used his ice to create a slide that slid him back and forth and Bakugou who had pushed himself to the limit to bounce back and forth with his explosions.

It was on this obstacle that some of the slower people struggled on. Uraraka couldn't use her quirk because she wouldn't be able to stop if she did. The ones who relied mainly on strength instead of speed were given low scores.

On the next test we had some interesting ones. While the earlier throw from Bakugou seemed impressive, Uraraka knocked it out of the park by using her quirk to give the ball zero gravity and letting it float to the outer atmosphere, giving her a maxed out score. Yaoyorozu had rolled over her previous cannon and shot hers out of it.

When Midoriya stepped up to the plate I realized something. He had yet to use his power. From what he had heard from Iida and Uraraka, Midoriya had a power that damaged his body tremendously when he used it. However, Bakugou continued to insist that he was quirkless.

Then my senses jumped as I sensed a tremendous force behind me. Turning to the source I see a giant of a man in a yellow suit trying to hide behind the side of a building. It took me a moment to register who he was.

All Might. After spending two weeks in this universe, I had even heard of him. He was this world's greatest hero and was also one of the strongest. The letter that came informed him about how his schooling was set up told him that All Might would be teaching this year. But why was he hiding?

Returning my attention to the test I saw Midoriya begin to reel his arm back and bright sparkly veins began appearing on his arm. Here it comes.

With a yell the green haired boy tossed the ball only for it to land less than ten feet away from him. Midoriya looked around confused before his eyes landed on the teacher.

Aizawa's scarf was floating around him, giving off a menacing sense of fear. "You are wondering what happened to your quirk. Well I erased it because you were about to break yourself down."

The scarf lashed out and pulled Midoriya towards Aizawa. When he got close he looked him in the eye. "I watched you during the exams. You have almost no control over your quirk. You made it in on a fluke. If it were up to me you never would have entered this school."

The scarf fell to the ground. "Go take your throw. Just know that if you leave yourself needing to rely on others to save you afterwards then you're out."

Midoriya returned to the plate. His face showed his brain had his gears turning trying to find a way to improve. His power reminded me of another that I have seen, and learned. Perhaps it was time to give some advice.

"Mr Aizawa sir," The hero known now as Eraserhead turned to me with venom in his eyes. "May I have a word with Midoriya please?"

After a moment the teacher nodded. I walked up to the confused kid. "Let me figure this out on my own. Aizawa is right. If I can't prove that I don't need help then I don't belong here."

"Look, we both know that you actually trained really hard to get here. I can see it in your physical appearance. It takes more than an average workout to get that look." Once this is said, Aizawa took a closer look at Midoriya. He was in fact in great shape. Perhaps his quirk was just simply too powerful?

"So allow me to give you a small piece of advice" I said. The teen thought for a moment before agreeing to my offer."Alright then, your power breaks your bones when you use it, or have I misjudged?"

"Yeah, it took me forever to manifest it and so I didn't have enough time to figure out how to use it before now. I was barely able to get it under control. That makes it sound like I don't belong here but the effort I have put in to be here makes me want to do even better." nodding to his statement I turn to the outfield.

"The first thing is that whatever idea you were just using isn't a bad one. You were just flexing your finger and thinking that it alone could maximize your throw. But to add on to that, in order to limit your power without breaking everything you need to mentally hold yourself back. It is only a start but until you find a way to use your power without breaking anything it's the best shot you have."

"Now think about your goal in front of you and not the power going through you. If you focus everything on your power then you will then, in fact, give everything. But we both know that 'everything' isn't the best of idea's right now. Instead focus on your goal and imagine yourself doing it a specific way."

"Like for this test, picture a guy with a glove about five hundred meters away. Your goal is to toss the ball towards his general direction. Only focus slightly on your power and the rest is on the guy. Do you think you can do that?" Midoriya nodded. "Alright, give it a shot."

While walking back to my spot with the group, Aizawa put his hand on my shoulder. "I know you are trying to help, however if this fails I'll deduct points from your score." He lets me go and we watch as Midoriya takes a stance.

"Imagine the catcher," Midoriya thinks. He pulls his arm back. In his mind at the end of the field, a guy with a glove appears and has his hand extended into the air. Throwing the ball forward he imagines the egg in the microwave at the tip of his finger, then focuses back to the catcher.

His throw creates a pressure of air that pushes everyone back. After a few moments, a beep comes from Aizawa's phone. He reveals it said that the ball went 705.3 meters. A tenth higher than Bakugou's. However the surprising part was that Midoriya's finger was not broken. It looked like it hurt but he could still use his hand and could even go again.

"Leo, I'm still deducting points because you seem to want to help so much. It's not a bad thing, it's just you need to focus more on keeping up than making sure others can." Aizawa stated. "Also, you are up next."

Taking a step at the plate, I take a grip on the ball in my hand. At the beginning we were told to go all out. There are plenty of tricks I could use. But I was skeptical on how Aizawa would react to some.

Putting my power into the ball, a light aura surrounded it. This prompted some of my classmates to lean forward to discover what was happening.

"Wait, is that chi?" asked Yaoyorozu. Tokoyami shook his head. "It's similar but he calls it ki and told me that it is often confused." Bakugou was stunned by this revelation. He was still in shock about Deku having a quirk. But before he could launch himself at him to get answers, the other quirkless bastard pulls out a new power from his ass.

What the fuck was going on?

I thrusted my hand outwards. My energy forces the ball up. Keeping my hand extended, it continues to fly up and up, eventually exceeding my mental limit on how far it can be controlled and falls to the ground. The ball is unnoticeable from this distance.

Aizawa revealed the score to be 915.6 meters. I secretly thanked Chris for taking me to a baseball game that Yamcha had taken part in.

Now Bakugou explodes forward, after finally getting some time to take in what has been going on. He aims for Midoriya but is quickly caught by Aizawa's scarf.

"Dammit! What is this stupid scarf made of?!" The explosion boy looks like he was going insane. The teacher who had restrained him had grabbed some eye drops and put a drop in each eye.

"This is my capture weapon. It is made of a cloth-like carbon fiber that lets me trap my opponents. If you attack anyone again today we are going to have a problem." Aizawa released his victim and turned to the others. "Let us continue the fitness tests."

As everyone went to the next area, Midoriya had noticed something. When Kachan had thrown himself at him, in less then a second, Leo had appeared in front of him with his arms crossed to take on his friends' blast.

How had he moved so fast? Would it be possible for him to teach me? I wish I had my notebook so that I could write this down. I should bring it next time.

Midoriya then ran to catch up to everyone.

Next test was the distance run. Bakugou kept from using his explosions until he could barely move. When that happened he used the excessive amount of sweat he obtained to push him a couple more laps before he collapsed of exhaustion. Todoroki used his ice to cool himself off while he was running but eventually the quirk took its toll and he had to be taken off the track before he could give himself frostbite.

Iida may have been good at the dash but for extended running his quirk was best put for the sidelines. Only used in short bursts when he needed one. Uraraka had done alright for a while, but after a while with the combination of endless running and her quirk draining her wellness she had to run off the track to a trash can, disqualifying her. I managed to run fifty five minutes but finally stopped when my shoes came untied and I had to go on the sidelines to avoid tripping.

Yaoyorozu achieved the best score after creating a bicycle and simply peddled her way to victory. The lowest score went to the invisible girl, Toru Hagakure, who ran for about five minutes before being pulled off because she felt light headed.

Tokoyami had tried his best, but with his low stamina and Dark Shadow getting weaker for some unknown reason his final time was only about 15 minutes. Perhaps the shadow took away Tokoyami's stamina the more he used it. Maybe?

After Yaoyorozu finished her run we moved onto the next obstacle which happened to be seated toe touch. All the females did fairly well but others such as the tail guy, Ojiro, and I were pretty good too. Hey when you have to bend your body at an awkward angle to get a move going you tend to stretch pretty far.

The ones who didn't do too well on this one was the one with a belly button laser quirk. He didn't want to take off his oversized belt because apparently it prevented him from being in pain. It was an understandable downside.

Everyone had tried so hard not to laugh when the grape haired kid, Minora Mineta, had tried to touch his toes. It was a pretty weird process but in the end his arms were too short.

The final test was the one which I was the most confident in, sit ups.

It went into two parts. Everyone was assigned a partner,(except me because I didn't believe one was needed) then one person from each group would get into sit up position. The other would hold down their feet so that the other could get as many in as they could.

Aizawa told us to get ready and we all got into position. With no partner to hold them down my feet were slammed into the dirt to get as much leverage as possible. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the other pairs.

Tokoyami and Shoji were paired up with Tokoyami going first. The bird-headed individual had his arms arms crossed over his chest. Uraraka and Midoriya were also a team with the zero gravity girl standing on his feet to make things less awkward.

"Ready, get set, GO!"

The first half of the class began performing as many sit ups as possible. Once Tokoyami had reached thirty Dark Shadow popped out and started pushing him up. Our teacher was going to say something but stopped when he realized it was a good use of his quirk.

Bakugou, who had been paired with Kirishima, used tiny explosions behind his head to push him up. His hands were twisted at an odd angle behind his head. Even without the explosions though, the blond seemed to be quite fit.

Yaoyorozu had been teamed up with Todoroki but after using her quirk throughout the day she couldn't create any more objects to help her. She did about 60 before not being able to get up.

After about five minutes, people started dropping like flies. Bakugou put up a good fight but the explosions so close to his head eventually took its toll and he caped at 146. Dark Shadow once again disappeared under Tokoyami and he fell at around 97.

Once the others were done they looked at the teacher, ready to give their score. However, Aizawa was currently busy counting my sit ups. When I had reached four hundred my body was about to fall because my feet had lost all grip on the ground.

But Aizawa had seen me pushing far past the others with a disadvantage and decided since he was already there that he would stand on my feet. This gave enough traction for me to go until exhaustion.

After about nine hundred push ups I collapsed with my core being on fire from pain. My classmates looked on in awe. Ojiro was the first to respond. "Holy crap"

The others got into position. Once Aizawa called for them to begin, they took off. Kirishima did well but he only got around 87 because his quirk wasn't suited for this. Todoroki got around 75 before giving himself a final push with his ice maxing him out at 76.

Uraraka had come close to my score but because she was still moving muscles that she wasn't used to using she dropped at 750 sit ups. Her quirk also had drained her rather quickly. Midoriya had to rush her to a trash can before she could lose her lunch.

Once everyone was done we grouped around the teacher as he prepared the score board. "These are your final scores. Remember what you lacked in and train that weakness. Some of you did well but you all could use improvement."

The board updated with our results. I wasn't first because of the deducted points from helping Midoriya. But that didn't mean my place amongst the score board wasn't high.

"Oh yeah, I was lying about the expulsion thing. Nobody is going home." Aizawa announced. Midoriya looked like he was in shock to the point that he looked paler than a ghost. Yaoyorozu said that it was an obvious ruse.

I wasn't so sure about that. Chris had taught me a useful trick he had used when he needed answers. By feeling the pulses on the ground he could tell somebody's heartbeat. This allowed him to tell when people were lying. It wasn't useful for battle but it was great mid conversation such as now.

Aizawa had lied. Meaning he had changed his mind. Midoriya must have impressed him enough with his performance.

Which reminded me of something that I had noticed. A similarity between two specific people.

When Midoriya had thrown his ball, the energy he put off was different from his life energy. It was as if there were other people's energy in that power, almost as if he wasn't alone. It created an odd feeling across me when I had attempted to gauge it.

And the funny thing is, excluding Midoriya's life energy, it felt exactly like the power rolling off the number one hero hiding from us all.

Could All Might be here to watch him. They have almost no similarities in terms of body structure so I doubt that they were related. Then my thoughts went to what Midoriya told me.

"It took me forever to manifest it…"

Something was up with those two. But I'll let them be and focus on my own problems. My arms went behind my back. During the test, I struggled to keep my skin hidden. Many scars crossed my body, including the one that put me in the time chamber.

My biggest fear is that people would bring up questions about my scars. Whenever people do I relive how every single one of them was given. The nightmares already reawaken the pain of the chest wound. And let's thank the demon that makes it so that I can't get used to the pain.

Aizawa cleared his throat to get our attention. "Today I saw what your potential is. It is to be expected of you to improve here and to give it your all. That is it for today." He then turned around and walked away. Everyone went to the changing room while I just used a clothes beam to put myself back into school clothes. Putting bandages around my arms so that people didn't see my scars.

While heading to grab my stuff in the classroom, Bakugou came out of nowhere and grabbed my collar. His eyes were red with rage.

"If you get in my way quirkless I'll kill you. I don't care what world you are from, what powers you have, or how hard you've trained. You will be just another bug for me to squash" he said. He put a few burn marks on my shirt then shoved me away.

I sign before whipping away some of the dust and repairing my clothes with another beam. But once again before I could head and grab my stuff, Todoroki stops in front of me.

We look at each other for a second. He glances down at my arms then back to me. "You surprised me today. Just know that won't happen again." I take a step forward and stare at him in the eye.

"Whatever your reason is for hating me, just know…I don't care." Todoroki's eyes showed that he was surprised by this response. "You can hate me all you want. But from what I have gathered you were the only one here who didn't go all out today. You have hate in your eyes whenever someone tries to talk to you."

"My first impression of you is that you had a hard past and you plan on defeating everything in your way to run away from it." I start heading towards the classroom. "Just know whatever demons you are fighting. Take it from me, someone who never had the courage to combat them. Fight them before it's too late."

"Would your demons have anything to do with those scars on your arms?"

Pain forces me to flinch and come to a stop. The scars across my arms reignite in pain that has long since vanished. I clutched my arms but was able to hide most of my pain.

"Would yours happen to be why you haven't used your fire, Todoroki?"

A small spark of flame dances off the multi-haired kid's left arm. He looks at me with fire in his eyes. Then turns around and walks away.

Great way to make new friends Leo.

Once again I turn around to head to the classroom to grab my s…

"Excuse me Leo"

"Oh for crying out loud, who is it now?" I turn to face the new guy but stop when I'm met with Midoriya looking at me. "Oh, it's you."

He gives me a confused look before shaking his head. "I'd like to thank you for the advice. I would probably have a broken finger right now if it wasn't for it." He slightly bows and I'm taken aback by this.

"You are welcome. You don't have to bow. It's fine." He returns to a standing position then he whips out a notebook from out of nowhere.

"Canyouexplaintomeyourpowersthatyouhaveyouarefromanotheruniversesothepossibilityofaquirkislowandmumblemumblemumble…" I dash forward and put a hand over his mouth to stop him. He then blushes, realizing that he was muttering and removes my hand. "Sorry about that."

"It's fine. But to answer your question. I know techniques from several universes. Ki, super martial arts, all sorts of things." He begins scribbling down notes as I explain to him my powers. "I explain more the longer we know each other but for now, know that my bass power level, without usage of ki or martial arts, is nine times greater than the average human."

"Now if you'd excuse me, I need to grab my stuff before someone else comes up asking questions." He looks upset but nods. I then make a beeline for the classroom.

Once there I grab my books and go to leave when I'm stopped by a hulking mass of muscle. Looking up I realize it's All Might. He looks down at me and yells "I am here looking for Leo!"

"Gah!" I grasp my ears. Why do people keep yelling in my ear. His voice wasn't as loud as Present Mike's but still he was several times louder than the average person. He bent down and put a hand on my shoulder.

"M...My apologies, Young Leo. I forgot you have strong hearing. I will be more aware of that in the future." Looking up at him I see that he is sweating intensely. He looked to be in a rush.

"Now for why I am here! You, Young Leo, have performed excellently in today's tests. And you should know that no matter who may mock you, there will always be a light at the end. So hang in there and...gotta go."

He turns to run but then what appears to be a smoke bomb goes off. Once it clears a skinny man stands before me in All Might's suit. He shrieks then looks down the hall at students making their way to the classroom.

I look down the hall. I don't know what is happening but I know that they can't see this man like this. Grabbing onto bone-man I book down the halls faster than anyone can see me.

Diving into the teachers lounge, I looked at the door behind us and let loose a breath I didn't know I had held. Then my attention goes to the room. The only other person in there is Recovery Girl who looked at us with large amounts of confusion.

The skinny man stood up and brushed off dust on his uniform. He then turned to me. "Thank you Young Leo, things almost went awful."

It took me a moment to register what was going on. "All Might?" When those words were spoken the man in front of me then widened his eyes, realizing that the kid in front of him had just seen his true form.

"What no! I'm Yagi Toshinori! I can create illusions that make me look like other people. I just took the form of All Might to try to raise your spirits! I'm not All Might." Toshinori was sweating bullets as well as Recovery Girl.

"I can defend Mr Toshinori's explanation if that solidifies the truth" The healing hero backed up the skinny man. She walked behind him and put a hand around his arm. "Toshinori always had a heart that let him pull off stunts that would help others. Even if that caused commotion in the process." She then slammed her cane into his foot causing him to jump in pain.

This was getting annoying so I decided to end the lies. "You know I've trained to detect people's heartbeat through the ground." The sweat that the two were emitting doubled in pressure. To the point it looked like a fountain. "That also means I know exactly when people are lying."

"Young Leo let me explain…" I cut him off with a raised hand.

"I don't need any details. In fact this probably won't leave this room." The two in front of him signed with relief. "And also it may be possible that we both overestimated the situation. The others probably wouldn't have recognized you anyway and only I saw you transform."

"Uh yeah, that would be on me." responded All Might. He then gave a serious expression. "Aki…" A wave of menace washes over the number one hero. I look at him with fury.

"Do not call me by that name when there is the slightest chance that someone can here it. I keep my identity hidden for a reason." My tone demonstrates that I'm serious.

All Might cleared his throat. "Leo… If word about this got out who knows what could happen. I know you said that it won't leave this room and you better keep that promise." I give him a final look before nodding. Then I turn and exit the room.

After finally making it home after a two hour workout that left me in a sore mess, I return home and make my way up the stairs. Once my feet hit the third floor I take out my keys and enter my apartment.

Nothing had changed just as one would hope. The ambassador had elected that I receive a more secure building. However this place being in a crime area gave me a place to train in peace, ironically. Few people roamed this area and believe it or not, robberies were low because all the crooks stationed here were a rumor to keep unwanted guests out.

Chris had seen through the facade and had decided it would be best fit for me. I certainly didn't complain.

Putting my bag beside the door, I made my way to the bathroom and filled a cup with water. Then moved to the senzu plants and gave them the appropriate amount of water. These things were hard to grow but Korin had given him instructions on how to. Once we were given our hero suits it would be best if I kept these on him. And maybe some others but only those he trusted not to release them to the public. He promised Korin.

Grabbing my history books, I went to the balcony and started studying. With an apparent family reunion at the bar in Universe 500.9, me and Hop decided to wait till another time to spar. So I was pretty much just stuck here.

After an hour of studying my eyes went to my watch. It read 2000. Chris' habit of military time had rubbed off on me. Getting up to take a shower, a clothes beam removes the sweaty workout clothes off me.

Taking a step in the shower and taking a glance at the scars on my body, my hand reaches to the gaping burn mark on my chest. It constantly reminded me of that day.

The day 'he' had ruined his life.

"Oh finally we can talk! You have no idea how long I have been stuck up there my friend."

I freeze, and with the sound of a creaking door coming out of my neck I look up. There, standing upside down, is a wolf with a black strip right under each of his eyes. He looked at me with a great deal of happiness on his face.

It took me a moment to recognize him. And once I did my body paled with fear. My memories were filled with him but even without the fire he still was easily recognizable.

Daemon

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH" I scream and trip over the side of the shower and slam my head against the wall. The last thing that comes to mind before darkness is the wolf cursing to himself.

SLAP SLAP SLAP

"Wake up!"

SLAP SLAP SLAP

"Wake up!"

SLAP SLAP SLAP

"Wait! I know!"

A distant scuffle was heard. Then the most annoying sound ever.

BEEP!

My eyes shoot open. Whipping my head around the shower I begin to calm down. It was just a dream. Turning off the shower and making my way to the living room I lay grab a senzu out of a bag I had under a floorboard.

A gash was on my head and it was bleeding quite severely. But one pop of the senzu and it disappeared. I sit down and take a deep breath.

Wait. If that was a dream. Why was I bleeding?

"Don't panic" My eyes shoot open. "Let me explain everything." My eyes moved to the corner of the room where the wolf was standing over my alarm clock. It was still completely destroyed but it appeared to have a small flicker of fire coming out of it.

"AAAAAAHHHHH" I scramble to the other side of the room and put my back against the wall. My breathing increases rapidly and I feel myself about to pass out. Shit, I was having a panic attack.

"Wait! Before you come to conclusions! I am not...um...him. Well not anymore at least. Just breathe and I'll wait." He spinned in a circle and plopped down on the floor.

After about fifteen minutes my breathing had returned to normal. "Why are you...who are you...what is?" My mind had so many questions. The wolf who had haunted me for years was sitting in front of me but he didn't have any intense aura, no sadistic smile, and no hellfire.

"Ok know that you have mostly calmed down, let me explain some things." He cleared his throat and began his origin story.

"You see about eight years ago, or six months depending on how you look at it, you were shot by the demon ,Dae... I almost said it but I didn't." I take a seat on the floor and nod. Ever since the incident, any mention of the demon's name put me in a panic attack. However it was only whenever they were referencing him specifically. Names have power after all.

"And so when that happened he left a small piece of himself in you to curse you so that you will suffer with fear and pain from that scar. And to my knowledge, he had no idea you would survive. But he did it to make your death horrifying."

"However, since you survived your fear of him started to amass in the time chamber. And so your soul created a counter for your fear to suppress it immensely by creating a personification of your fear inside your head. Hence, how I was born. Except I couldn't appear to you just yet except in your dreams to haunt you."

"But the years passed and your kind hearted nature began to affect me. With time I became more tame and eventually had almost no trace of the demon who created me. My form was too weak still to actually appear in front of you like this and even now since I'm in your head I don't actually exist physically."

He proved his point by walking through the wall behind him and then appearing in another part of the room. "But something happened in this world. You see, this universe is completely restricted to the other me due to a deal he made with your world. He cannot enter and that allowed me to become visible once your thoughts went to me."

"Such as in the shower? But I thought of you before, why didn't you appear then?" I responded. He shook his head.

"You suppressed those thoughts right away when you did. It wasn't a big enough opening for me. But now I'm here and all I have to say is...now what?" he put his face on the floor with disappointment.

I slowly get up and take a few steps to him. "Well for now I guess I'll just live my life. You just try not to give me nightmares and we will eventually either figure this out or just live with it." I was still nervous about this. How could I know if he was lying or not?

"Can you just stay in my head and only come up at certain times, please. Just give me some time to adjust to this." the wolf drooped his ears but nodded. He closed his eyes but then he brought up a new subject.

"Uh what should my name be? We can't use my old name so…" That got me thinking. Eventually an idea came to my head and he jumped up at it. "Oh! I like that one."

"Neo?"

"Yeah, it means new doesn't it? A new me." My hand reached my chin and after some thought gave a nod.

"Alright Neo, good night. And remember about our deal. Give me some time to get used to this." I curl up in my sleeping bag and let sleep slowly overtake me. But just because Neo was able to come out, didn't mean the nightmares and the pain from my own fear left me.

Another hellish night.
