Disclaimer: I don't own any characters, only the plot lines and trust me you'll know what's mine and what isn't. Sorry it took so long to post, I've been dealing with a lot of writer's block and lack of inspiration. I am hoping this posting of this will help me get back to writing. Thanks for being so patience and hope you enjoy!
Unable to get much sleep due to Noah's out of the blue question about his father and now just praying that he forgot about the whole thing. Liv glanced over at her bedside table clock to see that it was now 2:30 am and that if she didn't try to get some sleep now, morning would be a nightmare. Liv was able to get some sleep after waking up from her alarm at 7:00 am. After taking a shower, Liv walked back to her room to get dressed for what she hopes to be an uneventful Monday. Putting on some slacks, a navy blue button blouse, black blazer and a pair of boots with a slight heel. Walking into the living room she sees her two boys watching SpongeBob. "Good morning my boys." They both turn around and give a 'mornin' back. 15 minutes later the Benson bunch are ready to be dropped off at school and then work. Entering the precinct, Olivia saw her officers at work with a few talking off in the corners and one in the break room. Once inside her office, Benson set the stack of DD5s on her desk before removing her coat and sitting at her desk. Around 12 o'clock in the afternoon, Liv got a call from her cell, but doesn't check the number, "Captain Benson Manhattan SVU." A deep chuckle erupts on the other side of the call and a deep voice comes after it. "So we're going with formalities huh? I thought we were passed that." Benson looks at the caller ID and sees ' Danny Reagan'. "Detective, how are you?" Liv smiles and replies, "I'm good. So I'm assuming there's a reason why your calling?" Reagan chuckles and says, "Yeah, I was wondering if you were free for lunch?" Liv smiles and says, "I might. What'd you have in mind?" "Well there's a little dinner called Café Cocoa and I thought maybe you would like some." Benson had a big smile on her face and accepted his offer to lunch. Gathering her coat and purse, Liv exited her office to notify her squad that she will be out for lunch and that Fin is in charge. Once hailing a cab and listing off the address for the cafe. She arrived around 12:15, when she walked in the restaurant, Liv was able to find the detective fairly quickly. Liv slowly walked up to the table before he saw her so Benson could check him out. Getting closer to his table, Reagan looked up from his cell and stood up to greet her. "Hey you made it." They both smiled as he pulled out her chair. "Thank you." Once they were both sitting, they took the time to look over the menu and were both glad for the comfortable silence that came with it. After placing their orders, Liv orders the cocoa latte with a house burger and a side of veggie salad. While Danny orders a BLT with a side of fries. As they waited for their food, the two made small talk over various topics. "So can I ask you a question?" Benson nodded her head. "If you don't want to answer, that's fine. The night that we met at the bar, I was wondering why you had to rush out?" Olivia knew what he was referring to and why it would seem odd. Taking a few seconds, Liv takes a deep breath before answering him. "Well I should tell you before we go further that I have two sons and it was close to their bedtime and at the time we just met so and I didn't know where this was going." Reagan was surprised to hear that she has children. "Oh." Benson chuckles at his reaction and responds with, "Is that bad?" Danny realizes that he had been silent for too long. "No. No...it's not bad. Just surprising. That's all." Olivia feels a little weight just lifted off her shoulders at his response. "So what about you? Kids?" Danny smiles and tells her about Jack and Sean who are in 12th and 9th grade. The discussion leads to her telling him about Noah and Calvin. A few minutes later, the waiter arrives with their food and the two enjoy the light conversation as they eat. Danny is about to say something when Liv's phone starts ringing. Liv picks up her phone and answers it. Reagan is only seeing one side of the conversation, but from the looks of it there seems to be a case. "Case?" Benson looks at him and gives a short smile and answers, "Yeah. Thank you for lunch, I had a great time." As I'm pulling out my wallet, Reagan denies her the chance to pay. "Hey this is my treat, I'm the one who asked you to lunch. And besides I'd never hear the end of it from my family." Danny smiles and gives his card to the waiter. "Fine. But next time, I pay." Danny smiles big and smirks, commenting, "So there's a next time in the future." Liv looks at him and replies, "Well there might be, but I have to warn you my schedule's very random so I might have to leave or reschedule." Danny nods his head and states, "I'm a detective, remember? I know what the job entails and it's unknowns." They both smile and confirm that a future date is on the table. By the time the two say their goodbyes, it's around 1:27. As Benson is driving to the crime scene, she reflects the recent events at the cafe. She can't believe that she could be going out on another date, 'wait a date', Liv can't even remember the last time she went out on a date. Especially with someone who knew the job AND someone who she didn't have contact with in her job. So far the only thing that makes her a little worried is the fact that she could possibly be going out on an official date with the police commissioner's son. Snapping out of her thoughts when she notices that she has arrived at the scene in the lower west side about 15 minutes later. Getting out of her car, Liv notices Fin and walks up to him. "Hey Fin, what do we have?"
