DBD ONE SHOT 5: Nightmares (Steve x Quentin)
The campfire was unusually quiet when Steve woke up from his slumber, not really expecting much as he looked around, he did however spot Quentin usually he was awake but this time his was asleep, Steve thought he looked quite cute, messy brown hair under a beanie a somewhat peaceful look on his face.
He cautiously moved closer to Quentin watching him as he slept but it all changed when Quentin suddenly grabbed onto him,"whoa.. Quentin..it's just me..Steve.." he tried waking the other up,"Quentin! wake up!" he yelled trying to get through, he heard Quentin stir and his eyes snapped open gasping still clutching Steve's arm.
"Quentin.." he tried softly no response but he slowly wrapped his arm around the other,"You..okay there? nightmare?" he asked Quentin finally looked at Steve eyes wide but relaxed the moment he saw it was Steve and loosened his grip allowing Steve to fully wrap his arms around the other now.
"It's.. okay, i'm here.." he tried and it seemed to work as the other calmed down sleepily resting against Steve. "S-steve.." he heard his name,"shh.." he shushed Quentin,"it's..okay.." he repeated. "nightmare.." he heard Quentin softly say,"yeah..I figured..just..try and..relax" he found himself saying.
Quentin nodded and somewhat relaxed,"please..stay.."he heard Quentin say,"Don't..worry,i'm not going anywhere.." he said reassuringly.
Steve smiled as he held the other close listening to his soft breathing as he held him in his arms, he looked at the ever present campfire it provided little warmth but he supposed it would do as he shifted a bit closer to it.
Quentin listened to Steve's heartbeat as he relaxed he felt comfort in it a faint blush dusted his cheeks due to how close he was to the other he smiled eyes closed taking in Steve's unique scent as he slowly fell asleep.
Steve noticed Quentin finally fall back asleep, he too had a faint tint of pink of his face, feeling a bit bold he leaned down and kissed the top of the others head,"sleep well..Quen" he said softly.
