Over the year, Jewel spent time gaining the Neo-Sailor Senshi's trust by doing activities with them and discovering things she is good at for the first time in her life. Magic had always been Jewel's favorite thing, but none of the other Sailor Senshi could do that. Jewel could not spend much time with Trisha as she was constantly at the Door of Space-Time to visit her mom. Holly, who never fully accepted Jewel, the young sorceress, preferred to stay away from. Also, Chibiusa had to join her when they visited Alexis as the 2nd youngest Neo-Sailor Senshi was still quite nervous around the Dark Kingdom Princess.
Even when she joined one of the other villainesses as a training exercise, Jewel did not like people being afraid of her. Chibiusa, Alexis, and Jewel swam, painted/drew, played with toys, and ate sweets together! As Michiru walked through an aquarium with the girls...
"Those white whales are so pretty!" Chibiusa squeaked happily as the girls admired the Beluga Whales, diving and swimming in circles.
"Look! A baby!" Alexis pointed at a small whale swimming side-by-side with a bigger one.
"How cute!" Jewel 'awwed with the others.
"In a short time, the baby will grow up beautiful, big, and strong as its mother." Michiru recited what she learned about Beluga Whales as she knew more about sea animals than anyone else.
The girls listened with rapt interest when Michiru commented on each of their favorite marine creatures, with Alexis liking dolphins and Jewel interested in sharks more! Jewel did not appreciate Gracie's jokes about her but did enjoy singing with her as she got to choose the music and often tried to pick...happy...songs. Minako bought a karaoke machine, equipped with microphones for the girls to use, and loved it! Gracie could not sing well as she had a soft voice, so to let her get better, Crystal pulled Jewel to dance with her, mainly ballet. Jewel found humming her favorite songs irritated everyone less than singing them out loud every day!
Although Christen is as mean to Jewel as Holly is, if not more so, she like cats, and chinchillas matched Jewel's love of animals. The two girls did not "bond," but they were able to tolerate each other. Also, Christen allowed Jewel to use her magic for sparring with her! Jewel tried to use her magic to ensnare Christen, but the girl is quite fast and managed to attach an ofuda or Akuryo Taisan, a talisman used to protect from evil spirits, to Jewel's dress!
"Evil Spirit, Begone!" Christen shouted her mother's phrase.
Jewel squeezed her eyes shut, but felt nothing as the paper-like charm fell off her dress, "Was something supposed to happen?"
"You should have burst into flames!" Christen raged.
"Like this? Selina!" Jewel called her ball, and bouncing it as Chibiusa did with Luna-P caused Selina to change into Jewel's staff!
Jewel used her magic, similar to the magic used to kill the Shitennou, except much, much weaker.
"You attacked me!" Christen screams.
Other than minor scorch marks, Christen is unharmed, but she tries to get Jewel in major trouble for this. Luckily, Neo-Queen Serenity knows of Christen's interactions with others and decides to let Jewel off with a warning, which the young witch takes seriously. Best to avoid Christen as much as possible. Spending time with Ariel is much more fun, anyway: Baking, cooking, gardening, martial arts, and video games! All those things Jewel ranged from decent to bad at. The girl found baking and video games rewarding, certain cooking recipes and martial arts were difficult, and gardening Jewel could not keep focused on.
Jewel shared her baked goods with everyone, who always adored the tastes and praised her skills.
"These sweets are delicious!" Chibiusa squealed while munching on some of Jewel's pie, cinnamon buns, brownies, cookies, and cupcakes with her friends, minus Christen and Holly.
The last girl Jewel spent time with is Emily. Due to Emily's love for experiencing EVERYTHING, Jewel had the most fun with her, no matter what they did. When the girls turned 12, Neo-Queen Serenity allowed Jewel to stay for the ceremony of granting the Neo-Sailor Senshi a special gift each. At first, none of the girls seemed to have any clue what was about to happen. However, the adults, including Queen Beryl, had a peculiar twinkle in their eyes.
"Neo-Sailor Pluto, please, step forward." Neo-Queen Serenity had not ever addressed Trisha as such, but the young girl did as instructed. "You have been through so much pain, heartache, and confusion from a very young age, not so different from your mother in this reality, yet I have been informed of your growth into a patient, watchful, protective, swift, and fierce warrior over the years. Therefore, I feel it is high time I bestow upon you Pluto's power." Holds up a thin gold chain with a dark green gem outlined in gold hanging from it. "This pendant will allow you to access your Neo-Sailor Pluto from with you own Garnet Rod, Orb, and attacks. Of course, since this will be your very first time transforming for all of you, I have added a bit of extra power to the pendants. State your vow."
"I am the Keeper and Guardian of the Door of Space-Time. Protected by Pluto, the Planet of Space and Time, I am Neo-Sailor Pluto, Guardian of the Underworld! In the continuing name of Pluto, I will unleash the severe punishment of tampering with time!" Trisha recited!
Said pendant glowed lavender and whizzed around Trisha, encasing her in a lavender vortex to transform her! Trisha's hair is partly tied up in a high bun, and the rest hanging down freely. Red, arrow-shaped earrings appear, a gold tiara encircles her forehead with a garnet gem encased in the crook, dark pink lipstick colors her lips, and a red choker wraps around her neck! A strip-less, red sailor collar, a white, sleeveless leotard with a maroon bow and black circular brooch affixed to it, and red skirt with a maroon bow at the back billow on her and elbow-length gloves with red padding and red, knee-high boots pop up on her! As the lavender vortex breaks, Trisha's background is bathed in a lavender glow!
Why Trisha's outfit is red did not make sense yet, but she smiled proudly as she raised her Garnet Rod/Orb and murmured, "Dead Whisper..." Unmistakably Pluto's Dead Scream attack, but with Trisha's own twist added in, fired into the air and through an opening in the ceiling! Everyone cheered and clapped with liquid pride streaming down Setsuna's face!
"Next, I think...Neo-Sailor Saturn, please, step forward." Not needing to be told twice, Emily bounded forward, excitedly! Neo-Queen Serenity could not help laughing a little, "or bound forward, either one works. When you were born, we were unsure if you would come to exist. You were so small and very weak. Those peculiarities will complicate you later in life, but you have shown a spirit full of endless energy, unlike your mother. While Death is a part of Saturn's elements, I believe you show how you understand it by your soul's love for life. I am not sure why, but you are a special case...State your vow." Holds up a silver chain with a purple gem outlined in gold.
"It's lovely! I am an emissary from the abyss of Death. The Outer Planets of Destruction, Protected by Saturn, the Guardian of Silence, I am Neo-Sailor Saturn! In the continuing name of Saturn, I will choose to or not to end everything." Emily declared happily.
Saturn's pendant glowed, sliding under Emily and, in a blast of purple light, silver-colored, Saturn-shaped earrings with daggers on the bottoms appeared, a gold tiara encircles her forehead with a grey gem encased in the crook, and a purple choker wraps around her neck. A purple strip-less collar, a white leotard with flower petal-cut sleeves, a purple bow with a spiky silver crystal brooch, and a purple skirt with a maroon bow at the back billow on her. White gloves with purple padding and purple lace-up boots pop up on her! Emily's pose is her standing with her legs parted, left fist on her hip, and her holding her Glaive with her right hand with a darker lavender covering he background! The Neo-Sailor Senshi would not have flashier backgrounds until they got more powerful.
Well, Emily's outfit looked normal, so she raised her Silence Glaive and called (as everyone gasped), "Barrier Shield of Silence!" Letting out the breath they had been holding, worried Emily's enthusiasm would cause her to forget NOT to use Death Reborn Revolution (or whatever she called it now), the group watched as Emily forms sphere-like energy around herself! Hotaru could not help but feel a bit jealous her little angel was having a far fairer time using her powers than she had as Emily is not possessed and has friends who will help her out if anything foul should happen. Nevertheless, Hotaru is overjoyed for her daughter too. For this occasion, Luna and Artemis had instructed Comet, Asteroid, and Diana how to set up a viewing globe for the Neo- Sailor Senshi's grandparents and siblings to watch this ceremony too!
So, Soichi, Erika, Silver, Demise, and Violet cheered for Emily. Emily admired her appealing appearance in the crystal wall for a bit before turning to see who would be next!
"Neo-Sailor Neptune, please, step-" Suddenly, Neo-Queen Serenity heard the young girl yelp in fear and duck behind Holly, and Neo-Queen Serenity looked abashed as she knew she should have considered being easier with Alexis.
"I'm not ready!" Alexis sobbed.
Neo-Queen Serenity knelt to the distressed girl and took her face in her hands to wipe away her tears, "Alexis, you are stronger than most of the others here. When you were found, you were in such a condition where most babies would have given up, but you persevered. You can become Neo-Sailor Neptune. I believe in you, but you must believe in yourself. Would you like your pendant?"
"I am...c-c-can you fix it around my neck, please, my queen?" Alexis stuttered.
"Of course." Neo-Queen Serenity clasped the beaded necklace around Alexis's throat. Alexis's pendant is a white string with turquoise, teal, and aquamarine beads at intervals around it and a larger aquamarine gem outlined by gold. Alexis could not help admiring it. "When your ready, take a deep breath and state your vow."
Quickly taking a deep breath and feeling encouraged by her friends cheering, Alexis claimed, "Protected by Neptune, the Outer Planet of the Seas. Guardian of the Deep Sea, I am Neo-Sailor Neptune! In the continuing name of Neptune, I will make you see the sincerity of the sea!"
Pendant of the sea glowed, jingling and bouncing around the tiny soldier's lungs as a cylinder of water erupted around her! Alexis flipped her hair out to show off pearl earrings appearing, a gold tiara encircles her forehead with a turquoise gem encased in the crook, pink lipstick colors her lips, and a teal choker wraps around her neck. A strip-less teal collar, a white leotard with a teal bow and a turquoise brooch, and a teal skirt with a turquoise bow at the back billow on her. Gloves with teal padding and turquoise pumps pop up on her! Michiru is a bit concerned with Alexis wearing high heels after such a long time without them, but she never had trouble walking in them before.
Just like she practiced with Holly, Alexis balanced herself on her left leg, holding her own Deep Aqua Mirror in her right hand as her background is a beautiful aquamarine! Joining Trisha's rod and Emily's glaive, Alexis touched her own Deep Aqua Mirror to them. Neo-Queen Serenity had fashioned this to help the youngster with Submarine Reflection as she had trouble controlling the recoil. As Alexis prepared to show off her power, she glanced around. Around the room, everyone was giving her encouraging and eager smiles! Without any more hesitation...
"Submarine Reflection!" Alexis aimed her attack at one of the numerous crystal walls, which made it glow, then sparkle, and finally shatter! "Sorry!"
Despite the obvious damage to the Crystal Palace, Michiru could not help giving her younger daughter a proud but sympathetic look.
"Don't worry about it, Alexis." Neo-Queen Serenity sighed. "Neo-Sailor Uranus, please, step forward." Bravely, Holly walked towards the queen, not bothering to look at Alexis as she considered her actions that of a big baby. Even though Holly hoped to get a pendant, too, it did not mean she had earned it. "You were a surprise to all of us when Haruka brought you here, and you have continued to surprise us, though not in the most pleasing way. It is hard discovering your caretakers are not your original parents. I understand this well. However, you seem to be taking it a lot worse than we did. You've grown scared, cold, and distant because you would rather bottle up your feelings than let others see the pain of them. You won't be able to summon Uranus's power unless you are true to yourself. It's time to let yourself heal..."
Holly started when Neo-Queen Serenity took out her Silver Crystal and Crescent Moon Wand, using Moon Healing Escalation on Holly!
"NO!" Holly tried using Uranus's power to block it but, without her full power unleashed, she is too weak! Tears began forming in Holly's eyes. "Do you know how abandoned I feel by my birth mom?! It's like there is something wrong with ME! I wasn't transmigrated. I was thrown away! My mother (Haruka) makes me feel like a mistake when she puts so many high expectations on me. It makes my head spin! I can't go to Mom (Michiru) because she's too busy taking care of Alexis! Separation anxiety seems to be the only way I can not feel hurt when everyone around me forgets and leaves me behind again!"
At this point, Holly is bawling and making Haruka, Michiru, and Alexis feel very ashamed of how little attention they paid to Holly's emotional signs.
"Holly, your birth mom, didn't want to abandon you, so she gave you to Mother (Haruka) and Mom (Michiru) because she knew they would give you the life you deserve. Your a Sailor Senshi. That's got to count for something! Mother (Haruka) doesn't think your a mistake. She's just hard on you because she wants you to be serious, independent, and responsible. I didn't mean to take Mom (Michiru) away from you. We're a team and family. We won't forget or leave you behind..." Alexis hugged Holly.
"If it weren't for you, I wouldn't be alive." Emily and Chibiusa cuddled Holly too.
"You're my best friend." Gracie, Ariel, and Crystal patted Holly on the back.
"Here." Christen, sick of waiting, held up Holly's pendant.
This pendant is a gold string with gold beads at intervals around it and a blue gem outlined by gold. Holly is stunned but takes the pendant with shocked and numb fingers. To her relief, it glowed! Now was the time...
"Invited by a new age. Protected by Uranus, the Outer Planet of Wind. Guardian of the Heavens, I am Neo-Sailor Uranus! In the continuing name of Uranus, I will serve the justice of the sky!" Beams of light erupted and swirled around Holly. Simple, gold, loop earrings appeared, a gold tiara encircles her forehead with a navy gem encased in the crook, pink lipstick colors her lips, and a navy choker wraps around her neck. A strip-less navy collar, a white shirt with a yellow bow and a navy brooch, navy skirt with a yellow bow at the back billow. Gloves with navy padding and navy ankle boots pop up on her! Holly's pose is the same as Alexis's, except she's holding her Space Sword Bazooka, still in the shape of a sword, and her background is a mustard yellow! Although still deeply remorseful, Haruka smiles at her stronger daughter. Like Haruka and Michiru had, opening up to her true feelings made Holly focus on the kind of person she wanted to be rather than what Haruka wanted her to be. Walking up to the other Outer Senshi, Holly completed the quartet with her Space Sword Bazooka. "Space Sword Bazooka!" Holly fired her attack the same way Trisha did.
"Thank you for not firing at the palace wall, Uranus." Neo-Queen Serenity gave her a pained smile, then turned to the other girls. Now, starting with the Inner Senshi, Neo-Sailor Jupiter, please, step forward." Tall, strong, and beautiful, Ariel bowed as she proceeded up to the queen. "You are a lucky child, pulling off an ability before even learning how to talk, protecting yourself. Also, being tough, a leader, skilled, and instinctual shows you are ready to be the next Sailor Jupiter as long as you don't let your emotions control you to fight your way through life. There's not much else I can say. State your vow." Neo-Queen Serenity held up a gold link chain pendant with a green gem outlined by gold.
"I am the Pretty Guardian, who fights for Love and Courage, I am Neo-Sailor Jupiter! In the continuing name of Jupiter, I summon the storms!" With no fear, Ariel let a circular cage of lighting bolts spin around her!
Unlike the others, Ariel's transformation went from her feet up! Green, lace-up, ankle boots popped up on her feet, green skirt with a pink bow at the back, gloves with green padding popped up, white leotard with a pink bow and green brooch, a green collar with 2 white stripes billow on her, a green choker wraps around her neck, a gold tiara encircles her forehead with a green gem encased in the crook, and rose earrings appear with a green background. Makoto and Kent just smiled, knowing their daughter was already a combo of both of them. Kent's family congratulated Ariel, but Jade did nothing but glare hatefully at her younger sister. It was time Ariel talked with her!
"Jade, what's your problem?!" Ariel asked in a snappy tone.
"Who says I have a problem?! You know, it's not confusing at all that the first-born daughter of Sailor Jupiter doesn't get to be Neo-Sailor Jupiter AND gets sent to live with the family of a man, who isn't ever her biological father, even though they treat me like I matter! You got all the power, praise, and love. You don't need my approval, perfectionist!" Jade yelled.
"Your angry at me because of something I couldn't control?! I never asked to be Neo-Sailor Jupiter, Jade! I'm still not even sure if I'm going to uphold it, but like you, I am going to try! Mom sent you to a family she knew could protect you from everything I'll have to fight! I may not need your approval, but I still want it!" Ariel screamed back.
"I don't have to like the fact you got the superpowers of the family, but I do love mom...and you. If you want to keep trying like; me: You fight, and you win, get it?" For the first time in Ariel's life, she saw an understanding smile flicker across Jade's face.
"Y-Yes." Ariel did not know what else to say.
It was difficult to understand, but Ariel had expressed how unsure she was about her future, the same way Jade is feeling, and that brought up one thing they had in common, but Neo-Queen Serenity could not dwell on this moment right now; there is still 3 Senshi, who needed their pendants, "Neo-Sailor Mars, ple-" Before she could finish, Christen had run-up to her and held out her hands. "Before I give you this pendant, let me say this: You are blessed with beauty, yet you use your determination, confidence, mood, temper, and passion in sadness, pain, and fear to control others, though I don't know why, I advise you to let go of it, lest you need the healing Holly did. State your vow."
Christen had heard Rei talk about her own father in a very negative way from a young age and, though Rei never said this directly to Christen, the girl grew uncomfortable with men, even her father. Christen believed Rei would not stay with Yuichiro because Christen had heard children sign women cannot care for themselves, and Christen knew Rei did not need a man! In that, Christen thought she would cause her parents to split. Also, she was not comfortable sharing this reasoning with others yet. "I am the Guardian, who fights with Fire for Passion, I am Neo-Sailor Mars! In the continuing name of Mars, I let her fire flow freely!"
This pendant, a gold cord with rubies jutting out around the edges at odd angles and a red diamond at the font outlined in gold, unleashed fire rings to encircle Christen's legs, arms, and body! Black high heels pop up on her feet. Black skirt with a gray bow at the back, white, sleeveless leotard with a black bow, and red brooch billow on her. Gloves with black padding popped up, and a gold tiara encircles her forehead with a red gem in the crook. Well, that explained why Trisha got the red version.
Christen did not mind: Black suited her more, in her opinion, anyway. Everyone clapped politely, but Christen did not seem to notice.
"Neo-Sailor Mercury, please, step forward." Neo-Queen Serenity smiled serenely as Crystal stumbled forward, more than a little nervous. "No need to be nervous. You are as lucky as Ariel. Though you are not as smart as your mother or have your father's physic abilities, you are smart in your own right. Working with what you learn will help the Neo-Senshi in the future, and do not fear failure. State your vow." Neo-Queen Serenity put the pendant in Crystal's hands.
"I am the Pretty Guardian, who fights for Love and Intelligence, I am Neo-Sailor Mercury. In the continuing name of Mercury, I will whittle away at my foe with water!" Crystal's pendant, which is a rope with an aquamarine jewel outlined in gold, glowed.
Crystal's pendant released a long, light blue ribbon, which wrapped around her! Dark blue earrings appeared, a gold tiara encircles her forehead with a blue gem encased in the crook, and a blue choker wraps around her neck. A blue-collar with two stripes, a white shirt with a blue bow and an aquamarine brooch, blue skirt with an aquamarine bow at the back billow. Gloves with blue padding and knee-high blue boots with white trim at the top pop up on her! Crystal's pose holds up both her arms as if showing off her muscles, but they are turned the opposite way, and her left leg is held up behind her, bent at the knee, and her background is a beautiful aquamarine!
Even though she was reminded how she was not much like either of her parents, Ami and Urawa hugged Crystal with proud tears in their eyes, and Crystal's heart soared with happiness. Saeko, Sapphire, and Emma cheer. Once the cheering is over, Crystal moved back, aimed her attack, and...
"Ice Freeze!" Crystal freezes over the hole in the wall Alexis had accidentally made!
"Sweet!" Gracie said slowly but hyped up to get her pendant.
"Neo-Sailor Venus, please, step forward." Casually, Gracie walked forwards. "As the daughter of Sailor V, being Neo-Sailor Venus will not be easy, but you were born wrapped in love and beauty. Your loving, fun, friendly, caring, and kind nature is all traits of Venus and will aid you and your allies well as long as you don't let your fears or boredom overwhelm you" State your vow." Neo-Queen Serenity tossed Gracie her pendant.
"I am the Pretty Guardian who fights for Love and Beauty! I am Neo-Sailor Venus! In the continuing name of Venus, I will teach to honor love and beauty!" Gracie had some trouble controlling her power as stars swirled around her, but she refused to let her own power reject her, and she stood strong.
A gold beaded necklace with a gold gem dangling from them released the stars, which formed gold pearl earrings, a gold tiara with a yellow gem encased in the crook, and an orange choker. An orange collar with two stripes, a white leotard with an orange bow and a yellow brooch, orange skirt with a yellow bow at the back billow. Gloves with orange padding and strap-on heels pop up on her! Gracie's pose had her hair spread out behind her, and she shows of her muscles in one arm, the other to the side with her fingers spread, and her background is a nice shade of yellow! Mina and Alan hug Gracie tightly, still unsure about her future but glad to see her willing and ready!
Already having her own brooch, Chibiusa transformed! The background behind her is pink and lavender, with rose petals flying wildly around. The first thing that happened was bursting from her brooch is a large pink heart that wove its way around her body to create her leotard with flapping, bright pink, sailor collar with golden stripes. Her shoulder pads were like swan wings. Then, doing a back-flip, her pink winged gloves and pink boots with the crescents moons were zinged on from passing silver stars.
She did like a figure skater spin as a golden crescent moon grew from within her, adding the finishing touches: A snow-white layered skirt with pink hearts, silver stars, and golden crescent moons. Her choker is gold with a pink heart with a small crescent moon, and her earring matched with her trademark barrettes and odango jewels. She had no tiara, just her family's golden crescent moon shimming proudly in the center of her forehead. Finally, she struck her pose in front of a full moon rimmed with roses, and the Crystal Palace encased within the moon.
Christen did not like how flashy, and stylish Chibiusa's transformation and outfit is, thinking they paled in comparison. However, no one else seemed to mind as they are still too engrossed in examining themselves.
"Congratulations, Neo-Sailor Senshi. You have proven strong enough to start training, but there is one girl here, who I believe I owe something..." Neo-Queen Serenity pulls out another brooch as everyone looks around for another Sailor Senshi, but no one new has appeared. Also, the brooch appears different: It is shaped like Chibiusa's, but it is purple, with the crown design being silver and the pink crystal being a chuck of dark crystal! "Jewel...this brooch...is my gift to you. Happy Birthday...for all the ones I missed."
"Thank you! I mean no disrespect, but I'm not a Neo-Sailor Senshi." Jewel held the brooch in her hand.
"Perhaps not, but the brooch acts just like a Make-Up tool. It will light up and play music whenever the Neo-Sailor Senshi needs a little extra magic." Neo-Queen Serenity's eyes reflected regret as she knew this meant Jewel could not stay in the Crystal Palace.
"W-Where am I going to go?" Jewel stuttered.
"I have an old, ancient hideout here. We will live there." Elizabeth, as Queen Beryl, spoke up, and she turned to leave. "Jewel, Selina, come."
Jewel hugged her half-sister and new friends goodbye, then quickly followed her mother/kitten, Selina bobbing behind her. Though they felt Jewel might not survive with Queen Beryl being powerless and stuck in a kitten's body, Jewel could always come to the Crystal Palace for help if needed. Over the next years, Jewel watched the Neo-Sailor Senshi battle and won again and again from afar. Though she rarely even needed to help she-and the others-were glad when they did get to fight together. Neo-Sailor Moon and the Neo-Sailor Senshi knew, no matter what happens, they are never alone.
