Special Region, Warrior Bunny lands

"Your Queen is back! It's me, Tyuule of Leporia!" Tyuule said, removing the robes that covered her face and head.

"T-Tyuule?" "Oh Gods, she's back…" "It's her…" The populace started whispering, as their former Queen walked towards them.

"TRAITOR!" Someone shouted, throwing a rock.

Tyuule grabbed it just moments before it struck her.

"Calm down. I can explain everything. I fled as a loser, as a slave, but I'm coming back as a winner. I just caused the utter collapse of the Empire of Sadera!" Tyuule announced.

"What? It can't be true!" Someone said.

"I heard something about it in the taverns, something about hordes of soldiers from another world, summoned by a Gate…" Someone else added.

"So… that's why all the garrisons and occupation forces quickly left us alone in these months…"

The Queen finally made her way to the city center, and summoned everyone to listen what she had to say.

"In these months I long plotted the destruction of the Empire. I turned Princes against Princes, Senators and politicians against each other, I sowed dissent in the Court… But most important, I convinced that fool of Prince Zorzal to fund the opening of a Gate, to invade another world. He used me, month after month. He lied to me, he told me that in exchange for my surrender, he would spare my nation. He did not. It was too late when I discovered it, to do something about it. But I, WE, got our revenge. My plan worked. Zorzal attacked an overwhelming power, that crushed and puppeted the Empire."

A slender, athletic and red haired warrior bunny woman came forward and spoke:

"And you think you're a smart Queen? Your plan is not bringing our fellow countrymen back alive, besides, what makes you think that a power that obliterated and enslaved a giant such as the Empire will hold back from enslaving us again as well? You just replaced a tyrant with a bigger, potentially worse tyrant. At least the Imperials were from this world. The new invaders from the Gate are not even from this world! You're not my Queen! After you left, the morale of our remaining armies and partisans was destroyed, they raped the women and the children, and subjected men to genocide! You incompetent, smartass failure!"

"Who are you? Do you have any skill or knowledge about geopolitics or diplomacy? A commoner such as you?" Tyuule answered, many people nodding, in approval.

"My name is DELILAH! I lost my entire family due to your BETRAYAL! I will not let you ruin us again with your rule!"

"Shut up! Her so called betrayal was justified, our Queen destroyed the Empire! We got a second chance! Didn't you listen to her?" another bystander shouted.

"THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS!" Suddenly proclaimed Queen Tyuule.

"WHO AGREES? WE WARRIOR BUNNIES ALSO CAME FROM ANOTHER WORLD, OUR LEGENDS SPEAK ABOUT OUR ORIGINS THROUGH A GATE AS WELL, IF THERE'S SOMEONE FIT TO FACE THE OUTER WORLDERS, THAT SOMEONE IS US! WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN OPPORTUNISTIC, TAKING OUR CHANCES AND BAKING DOWN WHEN NEEDED! YES, I admit It, many people died because of my naiveness, but their sacrifice was not vain! Without their death, I wouldn't have been able to manipulate Zorzal. Now the Empire is dead, we can strike BACK and take back our lands and more!"

"THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS! THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS! THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS! THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS!" Everyone shouted cheerfully and fanatically, shutting down the dissenters, that became fewer and fewer every second that passed, convinced by mob mentality to change their mind.

Queen Tyuule knew she had a long road ahead. The Kingdom was in ruins, the Saderan occupation had despoiled it of everything. Reconstruction was going to take a long, long way. And for that, she needed political support and faith, to lead the nation through the hard process.

And the best way to obtain political and popular support, was through war.

As the days passed, and Tyuule took her position of power again, reformed her Court and appointed ministers again, she started planning the "lighting war" against the remaining Saderan rump state.

But she also knew that her opposition was strong, and widespread.

She had always been a cunning, manipulative woman, the tricks she knew to manipulate individuals were also good to manipulate the masses, but even with her skills, it was a race against time before someone organized a revolt and an opposition movement against her.

Tyuule spent days and nights to think about a solution, until she had one, a final solution to both eliminate dissenters and consolidate her support…

Imperial Court of Sadera

About half a year had passed since Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia first destroyed the Empire.

Sol Moltus had spent all of this time studying the theories behind doublethink and speaking with expert propagandists and political theorists from the other world.

By now, he was genuinely able to convince himself that an opposite was true if he actively thought about it, and found it very useful in his everyday life as well.

For example, when he was frustrated, or sad, or bored, he just kept telling himself, in his head, that he wasn't, until he was genuinely convinced he wasn't, and he was sad, surprised even, that his views were not shared by all of his court.

"Father, you are now little more than a foreign puppet, look what they did to you, they're brainwashing you. Where's your fighting spirit? Father… DAD, for Hardy's sake, listen to me once! You're growing too accustomed to these Oceanian invaders! They are fucking up your very thought!"

"Zorzal, our country has been demilitarized, our technology is puny compared to theirs, and our numbers are inferior, tell me, what should I have done? Besides, they are essentially handing us the key to unlimited power over consciousness itself. Don't you want power?" the Emperor said.

"Yes… But not… LIKE THIS! I want power thorough glory, through conquest. As of now, WE'RE the conquered ones! I want to fight our enemies, I want to kill for Hardy and for Emroy. Father, just give me the order, I will assemble an army and fight back, I will murder our enemies!"

As he said that, his father slapped him very hard.

"SHUT UP! MIND YOUR LANGUAGE! As you said, WE'RE A CONQUERED NATION, I know much about them, besides, there's surely spies here, even if you can't see them, be careful about what you say!"

"There's no puny Oceanians or Eastasians or Eurasian here, they all left to do their business in other cities the other day! There's only him, and he's loyal to you" Zorzal replied, pointing to an indoctrinated Inner Party official in the court that was sent to serve and help Zorzal.

As they were arguing, an Imperial legionary, accompanied by soldiers from the other world, came in a hurry.

"Prince Zorzal, Emperor Sol Moltus, there's a big problem. I came here from the East, after a month of travel. Warrior Bunny forces launched a massive offensive in the East. Our few garrisons and the few border guards sent by the outer worlders weren't able to stop them, they're gaining a foothold and will soon overrun our lands if not stopped"

Sol Moltus looked at the Oceanian official, looking for answers. He feared that mobilizing his forces to fight the bunnies would have seen as treason.

"Queen Delilah it must be her… THAT WHORE! I SHOULD HAVE KILLED HER WHEN SHE STILL WAS UNDER MY CONTROL!" Zorzal said, full of anger.

"FATHER! THIS IS THE OCCASION! LET ME FIGHT OFF THE BUNNY TRIBES!"

"This is bad… This is bad… The Party must be warned…" The Oceanian official said.

"I will ask my government what to do!" he said.

The Palace had a telephone that was directly connected to the offices of Big Brother and the leaders of Eastasia and Eurasia, through a combination of magic and technology, one of the few phones that the Earth people brought and one of the few phones existing at all. It was powered by enslaved mages, that were forced to convert their very vital energy into magical power to permit inter-wordly communication, also helped by the existence of the open Gate.

Earth, Big Brother Palace

Big Brother was surprised to receive an emergency call from the Special Region. He and the other leaders had great plans. The principles of Doublethink had just started being taught there, and rudimentary, giant magical telescreens had been installed in the city centers of every major city of the Empire.

His Saderan equivalent was also collaborative, so he couldn't imagine what the problem was.

"My great dear leader, there's a problem. The Empire is being invaded by a foreign power, it will further interfere with our plans if it gets destroyed. Should we let them send soldiers or should we take care of it ourselves?" His agent in the Empire said at the phone.

"Brother Johnson, I sent you there to serve Mr. Sol Moltus. Do what must be done, and always obey him without questions, except if his actions are against us, obviously. Redeploy the occupation forces we already have there and send them to the frontline, also, try to find a way contact the leadership of this new enemy."

Winston POV

In those days he had difficulties thinking straight. He spent all the week thinking about all the things he wanted to tell Julia about the Gate. He nearly got himself caught writing in his diary by the telescreen in his house and got reprimanded at work by a superior for not looking focused enough.

But finally, the time to see Julia had come.

They met shortly after work, and went to the Proles neighborhood, to decrease even just a little the chance of being caught by the Thoughtpolice.

"Julia… You know about the Gate, right?"

"Yes Winston. And I know it's not always been there too. A friend of mine was killed by the Empire. She was made an unperson." Julia told him.

"I'm sorry I guess… Well, I was thinking that if the Gate has not always been there, it means there's a world out there without Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia… Where free thought can still flourish…"

"I guess so. Maybe Goldstein and his Brotherhood could use it for their organization?"

"Same thing I was thinking. But I was also thinking that… Maybe there's a chance to escape.. No more Big Brother, no more Goldstein, no more Party and Brotherhood, find a place not yet tainted by this system. That world is probably big enough that unexplored area will remain for centuries, the Party won't find us if we flee far enough."

"It sounds beautiful… But, how? It would be a suicide to get in, the Gate is full of soldiers and Thoughtpolice agents…"

"Recently, they started considering sending some settlers to live there, especially Proles, but also some Party members to run Oceanian operations in the other world. If we somehow manage to get in that program, we could then plan a way to escape once we're in the other world…"

Julia looked at Winston, without saying anything. It was such a big plan, such a huge thoughtcrime. It could have very well been the first thoughtcrime of its kind. Simply unconceivable. Julia didn't know what to say.

Winston wasn't completely sure of his plan either. It did was very far-fetched, and he had never been the brightest or quickest mind, so he wasn't sure he could follow through all the steps or adapt to situations as they unrolled. Still, it was nice to just dream about such a thing. To just merely dreaming of having liberty, to be able to have hope.

Author Notes:

It's been a long time, I know. The 1984 world is extremely complex, and it's difficult to use in a fanfiction. Its characters are also extremely different than any other "conventional" story characters, therefore trying to understand their motives, personality and thought is very difficult, let alone thinking about how they would blend with a completely different type of story characters.

I spend a LOT of time thinking about possible plots for both 1984 and Gate Special Region characters, but I couldn't come up with anything good for much time.

To think about nations and political entities as wholes would react is relatively easy, to transform such wide social and geopolitical interactions in individual characters dialogues, arcs and narration is a whole other thing.

I'm very sorry I left this story dead for so long.

Thank you for your positive feedback so far, do not hesitate to give me ideas or tips in the comment

-Wanderer101: yeah, i was thinking about that too, it's a concept I'll try to play with in the next chapters

-SupremeDarkTrooper: The Gods of the Special Region will also definitively appear and react, after all, they consider that planet as their playground, and just like 1984's leaders, they hate seeing the status quo changed too much

-Cosmonitra: yeah, that's what prompted me to try writing a crossover. 1984 nations have such different logics and motives than any other political entity in basically any other universe or story.

-Davin111: I think Gods themselves could be a threat, but mages, even a big group, would not. Oceania, Eastasia and Eurasia genuinely wouldn't care about how many soldiers they would lose. They would simply send hundreds of thousands of soldiers to waste their lives over and over and over again, until the mages slowly lose the attrition war.

Mages could do some terrorist attacks but wouldn't be able to do anything against the 1984 behemoths. And even terrorism is useless, considering how much control the nations of 1984 have over the very thought and feelings of their citizen.
