Chapter 1 : BACK TO HOGWARTS
Hermione
Hermione had finally found the weasleys and felt herself smile. She was finally returning to Hogwarts for her sixth year. She had missed her friends a lot but at the same time she had enjoyed her vacation with her parents too. Sadly, owls were not able to deliver letters to the small and secluded island and neither could she send anything, so she ended up not being able to give Harry his birthday present on his birthday.
"Hermione over here!" yelled Ginny as she pushed her way through the crowd towards Hermione. "Hey ginny how were your holidays?!" Hermione asked.
"It was fine until Fred and George started testing all their stuff on Ron. That was a bit of a laugh you know" giggled Ginny. Just then the rest of the Weasleys and Harry came up to them and after exchanging their greetings and hugs, they boarded the train.
Ron had started munching away on some chocolate frogs and received a disgusted look from Ginny. "Must you chew so loudly and with your mouth wide open Ronald?" Hermione asked in a disgruntled manner. "Well, it's not my fault my fault mione. It's my tummy that is so impatient. Isn't that right tummy?" he said in a childish voice.
Typical Ron. No matter how old he got he still acted like he was only five. Sighing, Hermione got out of the compartment sayin she needed some air. She had walked about three steps before she heard a highly irritated and arrogant voice. "You know Pansy, I would rather appreciate it if you were not trying to jump on me every time your little pug eyes spot me." Followed by the voice, came out a ridiculously handsome boy with platinum blonde hair falling into his eyes and grey stormy eyes.
"What are you looking at Granger?" snarled Draco Malfoy.
"I didn't come here to look at your stupid little ferret face. I was just on my way to get some fresh air and you came out of nowhere" she snapped
"Careful Granger, there might be someone out there who might want to kill a mudblood like you" he sneered.
Hermione just shot him a disgusted look and turned her back on him to go change into her robes. She didn't want to spend her time on useless conversation with the foul blonde ferret.
Draco
Draco had just gotten on the train and immediately pansy was on him. He hated it when she was always pouncing on him. Sure, last year they were a couple but he really didn't care what she wanted and neither did he love her. But this year was going to be different. He couldn't horse around and have fun this time. At Least not while on the orders of the dark lord. His father was being held hostage and his mother was hysterical. His family's life was on the line and so was his. He couldn't risk anything now.
So he just yelled at Pansy, and walked out of the compartment to find a very curious Granger eavesdropping. It only took a snappy retort for her to get out of his way. He let his thoughts linger on her for more than a second. She was much prettier this year and her hair wasn't the wild bush it used to be. And she was thinner too. Finally realising what had been going on in his head, he mentally chided himself. She was just a lowly mudblood and he, a Malfoy, let his thoughts sway towards her. It was absolutely pathetic.
He stared at the miles and miles of green grass as the train sped on. For the millionth time he wished that he did not have to choose sides and that he was a normal teenager. He wished he wasn't a death eater.
