Chapter Thirteen
Kat blinked. She was standing on the sidewalk of a busy street, her bare feet on the warm pavement. It was mid-day and the sun was shining brightly over her head. She inhaled a deep breath, enjoying how the sun warmed her face. The air didn't exactly smell fresh. It smelled of fast food and car pollution. But she was still glad for it. She felt like she was finally back on solid ground. Her earth. Her previous time with her father now felt almost like a dream. Except for the fact that she could feel her power inside, thrumming in her chest. She knew she should feel tired, but instead she felt renewed. She felt strong and alive. Different. A reminder that it had all really happened. She had met her father. She still didn't know how to feel about all that, but she couldn't ponder it right now.
She wondered where Crowley was. She missed him so much, the sheer thought of him caused an ache to bloom in her chest. She absently rubbed her hand against her heart. Kat needed to find him quickly. He must be so worried, the way she knew she had disappeared. She pictured him in her mind and suddenly felt a connection that wasn't there before. She focused on that thread, bringing it clearer into her mind. She knew exactly where he was. Closing her eyes tightly, she conjured up the image. She was suddenly desperate to be with him. She needed to see with her own eyes that he was alright and explain everything that had happened.
She felt something shift beneath her feet. What was the hot pavement of the sidewalk only a moment ago, now felt colder, smoother. She opened one eye, then the other to find herself in what appeared to be an old castle. Her gaze travelled the room, taking in the walls, the high ceiling, the doorways. It all felt so familiar and yet foreign. She turned around slowly and her eyes landed on an empty throne. His throne. She knew exactly where she was now, and why it felt so familiar. She had been there hundreds of times, a thousand maybe, in her dreams. It felt like coming home. She released a breath she didn't realize she had been holding.
Kat made her way over to the throne and ran her fingers over the back, and down one arm. She felt a nostalgic pull and she remembered the design so clearly. Yet she had never truly seen it with her eyes, or touched it with her hands. She felt disappointed that it was empty. Putting her hand on the cushion of the seat, it felt cold. He obviously hadn't been sitting in it recently.
Kat heard a faint crash from down the hall. Stepping away, she exited the throne room and followed the sound to investigate. She wondered if it was Crowley. She knew he was here somewhere close. She could feel his presence like electricity under her skin. She turned down a hallway and heard another crash. Someone cried out in pain. She focused on the sound and it came into focus. It startled her for a moment, to realize she could hear them as if she was in the very same room.
"You. Will. Not. Disappoint. Me. Again." Each word Crowley spoke was accompanied by that sound of his fist hitting flesh. "I'm sorry master. Please. Please give me another chance." Someone cried pitifully. Kat hurried down the hall to the open doorway to see Crowley standing over a demon on the floor, his face was bloody, mangled and unrecognizable. Crowley was enraged. Grabbing the bloody front of his shirt and dragging him to his feet. She saw the muscles tense in his arms and shoulders, and she bit her lip. Now was definitely not the time to be getting turned on. She knew she should say something but she could only stare at him. Heart pounding furiously. He was so caught up in his anger he hadn't even noticed her yet. "I should kill you now. Set an example so nobody else dares to return without news." He growled in the demons face before throwing him hard against the wall.
She had to say something. "Well don't do that. Whatever he did to disappoint you, I'm sure he has learned his lesson by now." She said softly in the doorway. Crowley's body suddenly froze. He was afraid to look up. Afraid he had imagined her voice in his head. Could she truly be there? A faint breeze brought the sweet smell of her hair to him and he shuddered closing his eyes. If this was a trick of his mind, he wanted to savor it. She watched him as he inhaled, leaning back with his eyes closed. His face looked pained and she felt her feet move without even intending to. Stopping right in front of him she put both hands on his face, gently holding him.
His eyes snapped open. She was truly here. "Kat." He stared at her in wonderment. Her name was spoken like a broken plea. Without hesitation, he grabbed her to him roughly. He wrapped his arms tightly around her, as his mouth crashed down on hers. With his hands on her hips, he lifted her and she wrapped her legs around his waist, desperate to be closer to him.
Crowley pressed her body against the wall, trapping her with his own. He consumed her. He was a dying man and she was his elixir of life. He needed her with such intensity that nothing else existed but them. He didn't even notice the demon scramble out of the room as fast as his feet would carry him. He was unimportant, as Kat moaned into his mouth, gripping his hair in both hands. She moved her hips in a needy rhythm against his. "Oh please." She begged him between kisses. "I need.. ahh" Her words broke of into a moan as he licked and sucked the skin of her neck, just below her ear. Rotating his hips against her. They had too many layers of clothing between them. It was such sweet torture. He needed to feel her perfect skin against him.
Crowley lifted her a little higher, using his hip to support her. He suddenly ripped her t-shirt off, revealing her soft breasts. Dragging his mouth over her collarbone, he placed a soft kiss to her mound, before enveloping her peak in his hot mouth. Sucking and licking the sensitive flesh. The sensation was too much for Kat. She cried out and writhed beneath him. "Crowley. Please." She begged again impatiently. She gripped his shoulders tightly pulling him harder against her. Crowley couldn't speak with words. He just made desperate noises, as he worshiped her body with his mouth. Removing his lips from her breast he claimed hers again. His tongue at war with her own.
Kat reached down between them and unfastened his belt and pants. She reached her hand inside and he growled into her mouth as she gripped his hard length. His hips moved, thrusting himself into her hand helplessly. "Kat." The sound of her name on his lips while she felt him throbbing in her hand fueled her. "I need you." He forced out through gritted teeth. Echoing the same primal need she felt in her whole body. He stole her breath, and set her on fire. Kat grabbed his shirt, as she pulled it up off of him.
He set her feet on the ground only long enough to pull her pants and underwear off, discarding them on the floor. She immediately pounced on him. He caught her with his hands on the back of her thighs and pressed her back against the wall. He didn't even bother removing his own pants. There was no time for it. He needed her too badly. She reached down and pulled him free.
Crowley was lost, he thrust himself fully inside her and held her against him. He growled into her neck and Kat responded with a moan of her own. She clawed at his shoulder as her hips moved against his, chasing the pleasure that was quickly hitting her. He drove himself deeply into her, slowly at first, before losing control. Chasing his own pleasure. "Crowley" She screamed out his name, as she shattered in his arms. He followed her quickly into the abyss.
They held onto each other through the last shock waves. Crowley couldn't believe his luck. After all his searching for her, she found him. He kissed her lips gently, then her cheeks, her forehead, and along her jaw. He ran his fingers up and down her hip. She never felt so cherished in her life as he caressed her. Now that he could think clearly, he had many questions to ask his beloved.
"Kitten I think we need to talk." He said softly, setting her down. He helped her back into her pants and gave her his shirt, since he had torn hers in his urgent need. Pulling up his own pants and fastening his belt, he led her out into the hall and turned, taking her down to the most beautiful bedroom she had ever seen.
Kat admired his sense of decor, as she walked over to the four poster bed. She was stroking her fingers over the lush bedspread when Crowley came up behind her. He wrapped himself around her and kissed her neck, breathing her in. Kat leaned back into him. She wrapped her arms over his, enjoying the safety they offered. Even though she knew the darkness that was always inside of him, he was so sweet and gentle with her. Except when he had her against a wall, she thought smirking. She always knew she was safe in his capable arms. She loved him. She really and truly loved him. She realized suddenly that her father was right. Crowley really was her soul mate.
"Kitten." He whispered against her neck. "Where have you been?" Kat slowly turned in his arms to face him, and wrapped her arms around his neck. She ran her fingers through his hair as she spoke. "I was with my father." Crowley's eyes widened. "I have so much to tell you, it's been a crazy day." she said softly. A crazy day.. A thought occurred to him. "How long do you think you have been gone?" She thought that was a strange thing to ask but responded. "I'm not sure exactly. There was no sunlight or any way for me to measure time. Maybe a day." Time must move differently where she had been, he realized. "Kat, you have been missing for almost two weeks.
