After a couple minutes of walking later, Chaz and Summer finally found themselves a picnic bench to sit at. Chaz sat on one side of the table, while Summer sat on the other. They just remained sitting there and enjoyed their lunch together. There also doesn't appear to be a lot of people at the park this afternoon, making it even more relaxing for the both of them. All in all, it was an enjoyable date for both of them.
While the two of them were eating their lunch, Chaz looked off to the distance, only to take notice of two people who were walking along the pathway. He wasn't too sure if they were familiar to him or not, but when he looked a little closer, he knew his eyes were playing tricks on him. From the looks of them, Chaz knew that the two people were Travis and Liberty.
Chaz can't exactly say that he was friends with either one of the two, but Summer is on good terms with Travis. At first, Chaz didn't really like Travis hanging around his girl, believing that he was trying to steal her from him, but nowadays tolerates it, since Summer made it clear they were only friends. Liberty, on the other hand, due to them being bullies back when they were in the Royal Academy, she didn't trust or like either one of them. Even she was a little skeptical if Travis and Summer were dating or not, but thankfully, they weren't. Regardless, Liberty didn't trust Summer one bit.
As he kept his eyes on the couple, Chaz decided to point over to them, and spoke. "Hey, babe. Look who's here at the park too." The biker said, causing Summer to look towards where Chaz was pointing.
"Travis and Liberty? They're here too?" She asked.
"Seems like it." Chaz then picks up his drink, taking a sip of it before speaking again. "They're probably on a date just like we are."
"Should we invite them over?"
Hearing this, Chaz immediately grew reluctant. "Are you kidding me? No way, babe." The biker took another sip of his drink, before continuing to talk. "Besides, those two probably don't even want anything to do with us now that we're all graduated."
"Well, it's been almost an entire year since we've all graduated anyway. So like, what's the big deal? Am I right!" Summer then turned towards where Travis and Liberty were at, then began to wave at them. "Hey! Travis! Liberty! Over here!" Chaz looked over to where the couple is, seeing that they were now taking notice the both of them.
From the looks of it, both of them appeared to be just as surprised as they are. Travis seemed pretty happy, despite the fact that Chaz was also there, but Liberty definitely didn't look happy to see them at all. Liberty even looked like she was telling her boyfriend that they shouldn't even be going over there. Despite that, Travis seems to be willing to come over and talk to them, which he and his girlfriend did.
Travis and Liberty both made it to the picnic table, then stood by when they approached the side of the table. "Hey." Travis said with a smile. "Isn't it a coincidence to see you guys around here?"
"Yeah. I guess..." Chaz mutters, before looking forward at his girlfriend. "Nice to see you too, chump."
"Chaz, don't call him that. Me and Travis are still friends." Summer said while glaring at her boyfriend. She then looks over to Travis again, before speaking. "Well, I'm like, so totally happy to see you again after so long, Travis."
"It's nice to see you again too, Summer." Travis said.
Summer then turned her head towards Liberty, who was just standing there glaring at her. "Oh, it's nice to see you again too, Liberty. I'm also like, so happy to know that you're still together with Travis too."
"Oh, why...thank you, Summer." Liberty said, before crossing her arms. "That's probably the nicest thing that you've ever told me...rather, the only thing that you said to me that's actually nice..."
"Oh, Liberty, don't be silly. I said like, totally nice things to you before..."
"Insulting my teeth, my beanie, including my pet snake is what you call 'nice'? I highly doubt that."
"Ouch...I must've forgotten about that..." Summer then chuckles rather sheepishly before deciding to change the subject to something else. "So how have you guys been? We...haven't heard from you ever since our graduation."
"Things have been pretty good with us." Travis said with a smile. "I've been...planning on surprising Liberty with something that...I'm hoping to give her this weekend when we go on our one year anniversary."
"Really?" Chaz asked while raising an eyebrow. "What is it?"
"Well, I can't exactly tell you guys right now." Travis then pointed to Liberty, before continuing to talk. "Not with Liberty around."
"Oh...now I get it."
"Whatever the surprise is, I hope Liberty loves it." Summer said while smiling at Travis. "I'm sure whatever it is will make her very happy."
"Thank you, Summer." Travis said. He then points behind himself, deciding to end this conversation now. "Well, I hate to say that we got to go now, but me and Liberty have to be leaving. Hopefully, we'll stumble upon you guys again soon."
"Bye Travis. Bye Liberty."
"Later chumps." Chaz said, causing Summer to glare at him. "What?" The biker said while shrugging his shoulders.
After the conversation ended there, Travis and Liberty began to head off to go find the park's exit, leaving Chaz and Summer alone once again. The two proceeded to finish their lunch, then throw their garbage out. Afterwards, the two then began to head off so that they can find the park's exit and head off to one of their houses.
Meanwhile...
With Katie...
A couple minutes after she had left Crystal, the tomboy finally arrived back at her house.
Upon entering her house, Katie immediately took notice that her father didn't seem to be anywhere. He wasn't in the living room or the kitchen, or did he even appear to be upstairs. Due to the fact that his daughter was back in town, Katie didn't expect her father to have even left the house. Regardless, she went to the living room so that she can sit down.
Once she was seated on the couch, Katie pulled her Smartphone out of her pocket so that she can text her father to see where he was at. She waited a couple minutes, until she finally gotten a text back from him. According to her father, he had gotten a call moments ago that one of his co-workers had dropped their shift at the last minute, so he had to take over for him. But, thankfully, Katie's father told her that he will come back home when it's dinner time.
Seeing this gives Katie enough time to herself, the tomboy picks up the TV remote off of the coffee table in front of her, turning the TV on in the process. She took a look to see what was on right now, until she decided on watching 'The Big Bang Theory'. She places the TV remote aside, then leans back on the couch.
About a couple minutes later, Katie began to hear her phone ringing on the arm of the couch. She assumed that it was probably either her dad or Crystal calling her right now, so she answered the phone, not even seeing who it was calling her. When she answered the call, Katie spoke.
"Hey, who is this?" Katie asked.
"Hey Katie. It's me, Annie." A female voice said on the phone. "I've heard you were back in town."
"Annie?" The tomboy asked, rather surprised. "Oh damn! I knew there were some friends of mine I forgotten to visit while I was around town. How's you figure out I was back?"
"Well, let's just say that Yuki was walking passed my boyfriend's house while me and him were outside. She muttered something about you being back in town."
"Oh, I see." Katie then leans back on the couch again, before continuing to talk. "So, how ha e things been Annie?"
"Let's say that things...haven't really been that good for me, Kate."
"Damn...what happened?"
"Well, let's just say that I finally decided to move out of my dad's house...that miserable asshole..."
"You moved out of your house? Really?"
"Don't act surprised, Kate. I already told you that one of these days, I'm leaving that miserable asshole's house. Dude gets way too angry, or drunk, or both. I had enough already."
"Well...okay then..." Katie cringed, before speaking once again. "So...where are you living now?"
"My boyfriend, Odin Revolution, told me that I could stay with him for the time being. He had a spare guest room in his house, so we talked for a bit, and now I live with him."
"Alright. That's reassuring."
"Yeah." It was at this moment, Annie decided to change the subject. "So...how are you doing? I haven't heard anything from you while you were up in Augusta."
"Things have been...pretty fine, actually. I'm finally going to be working at my dad's dentist, and I've finally reunited with some of my old friends." Katie then picks up the TV remote near her, before turning the TV off. "I...don't quite know when my first day is going to be, but I'm sure my dad will tell me later on."
"Glad to hear that, dude. How's your cousin by the way? I haven't heard anything about him after he left years ago."
"Well...aside from the fact that he's totally fine too, he's..." Katie then cringed, feeling a little worried about mentioning the next part to her friend. "...Well...he...kind of changed his mind about helping my dad out at his dentist. He's now wanting to go help out at the SPA Agency when he arrives back at Simport."
"Man...your dad's not going to be too happy hearing that."
"Look, I rather not tell my dad about this, okay? Promise to keep this between us? The only other person who knows about this is Crystal, and that's it."
"Hey, I'm not saying a thing." It was just then that Annie decided to end the phone call here. "Anyways, I got to go now. Hopefully, we can hang out sometime, okay?"
"Totally. Bye." After the phone call had ended there, Katie leaned back and continued to watch more TV by herself.
