Later that night...
With Katie...
Just like Crystal had mentioned to her friends earlier, Katie was off to meet up with her friend, Annie, at her boyfriend's house.
For her, it's been awhile since Katie had seen Annie. The last time they had even seen each other was when Katie was at the monorail station, just when she was about to leave for Augusta, which was at the very start of September of last year. It was going to be nice for Katie to finally see her again after so much time had passed. Although, she felt like it was going to feel weird not visiting her at her old house...but then again, knowing her friend's home-life, she felt like she should've seen this coming.
The tomboy rode her skateboard down the sidewalk until she made it to the house Annie's boyfriend lives in. She kicks her skateboard up to her hand, then walked over to the front door, which was where she was beginning to hear loud music coming from inside the house. It seems like knocking wouldn't get their attention, so instead, Katie decided to use the doorbell instead.
Katie presses the doorbell, then stood back in hopes that one of the two people inside heard it. A couple seconds passed by until somebody finally opened the door, that person being Odin Revolution. The man has long blonde hair with a beard on his chin, and he wore a red tank-top with baggy black pants, and dark brown boots. He just stood there looking at her for a few seconds, before speaking to the tomboy standing there.
"Can I help you?" Odin asked, not recognizing who was standing outside of his house. Despite being friends with Annie, Katie never really talked to her boyfriend all that much.
"Um...hey..." Katie started off saying, before leaning to her side to look into the house. "I was...told by Annie that this is your house. I'm a friend of hers, Katie Morris."
"Katie Morris? You're the girl who's father is the dentist at Main Street?" The tomboy simply nodded her head, before the blonde man smiled nodding his head. "Oh, Annie told me you were back in town."
"I just came back two days ago. I met up with a couple of my other friends, but...I haven't met up with Annie yet." Katie places her hands on her hips, before raising an eyebrow at the man in front of her. "I was...also told by her that she's now living here at your house..."
Hearing this, Odin nodded his head as his smile slowly turned into a frown. "She told you that, huh?" The tomboy nodded her head. "Well...can you blame her for moving out of her father's house? Her father's an asshole who is always too drunk, too angry, or both."
"I...know...Annie told me that..." Katie then cringed, before leaning to her side again to look inside the house. "Speaking of which, is Annie here right now, or is she out?"
"She's listening to music in the garage." The man then steps aside, allowing Katie to enter his house. "You'll find her in there."
"Thanks." Katie then steps into the house.
Upon entering, Katie took note of what was inside Odin's house compared to Annie's house. There were the standard couch, coffee table, and a couple other things. The only things that stand out to Katie around here were the fact that there were speakers on the counter in the living room, and that there was a flat-screen TV on the wall. Not to mention, from what she can remember of Annie's old house, this place was a lot less cluttered then her friend's old house. At least Katie now knows that Annie is living in a better house than her old one.
Katie walked around until she found the door to the garage. She enters the room only to see Annie sitting down in one of the lawn chairs, sitting in front of a workbench that has a radio on top of it, blasting loud rock music. The girl has long messy red hair, and wore a green tube-top along with a light blue jean-skirt with black leggings underneath.
Upon entering the room, Katie closes the door hoping that Annie will immediately take notice of her, only for her to not hear the door slam. It was pretty typical of Annie to get engrossed in listening to rock music, it's almost as if she can't hear anything other than the radio itself. Despite that being pretty minor, it was probably the onlything that Katie doesn't miss about Annie, in all honesty. Regardless, Katie can still tolerate it.
Katie went over to the radio, then turned it off. "What the hell?" Annie whispers, before opening her eyes. "Odin, why did you..." The girl looks over to the workbench, seeing the tomboyish dentist standing there.
"Hey, Annie." Katie said with a smile.
"Oh, Katie. You're finally here, dude." Annie stood up from the lawn-chair she was sitting on, before walking over to Katie so she can hug her. "It had been too long."
"Agreed." The two's hug lasted for a couple more seconds, before they finally stopped. "By the way, I forgot to mention this on the way here, but Crystal's going to be stopping by too. Is that cool?"
"Yeah, totally." Annie then places her hands on her hips. "It had been awhile since me and her talked too...the last time we talked was when I went to her to see if her house has an extra room for me to live in..." She shrugged her shoulders with a sigh. "She...sadly didn't."
"Damn...I'm sorry about that..." Katie's smile slowly became a frown after that was mentioned. She cringed before speaking again. "You know...I was going to talk to you about...well, you moving out of your dad's house."
Annie's smile also became a frown after that, except unlike Katie's frown which was expressing guilt, Annie's seemed more annoyed. "What even is there to talk about? I moved out of that asshole's house for good."
"I know, I know, but...yesterday was pretty much the first time I was hearing about it, and..." The tomboy then shrugged her shoulders. "...I don't know...I was just meaning to know. What...finally made you decide to leave his house?"
Sighing to herself, Annie went over to the lawn chair that she was previously sitting on, then sat down onto it again. She then glared up at Katie, who just continued to stand there and stared back at her with concern clearly expressed on her face. She took a second to try to remember what exactly happened weeks prior to her and Katie reuniting tonight, then sat back and began to explain what had happened.
"Well...long story short...all I can really say is that one night...a typical argument ensured, as per usual..." Annie explains to her friend. "He got so furious that he literately flipped the table, then he pushed me onto the ground out of anger...and that was when I finally decided to leave that prick's house. I packed up...some of my things, and then I just left." She then kicks up her legs onto the lawn chair that was next to her, before continuing to explain what happened. "I've been searching for a place to stay at for awhile now, until I finally asked Odin if I could stay at his house. Thankfully, he said yes."
"Damn...sorry to hear that. Did your dad text or called you after you left?"
"He did. But it's not like he was wanting me to come back home anyway." The girl then crossed with arms and scoffed. "Either way, I'm glad to be here at my boyfriend's house."
"Well...I'm just glad that you're safe and sound, Annie." Katie then looks up at the ceiling. "I don't personally know Odin, but I just hope that this house is a better place to live in compared to your dad's house."
"It is, and there's no need to worry about me here, Kate." Annie then stood up from her lawn chair, before pointing over to the door that leads out of the garage. "Anyways, enough talk about my dad now...since you're here, want to do what you and I usually do before you left for college?"
Katie raises an eyebrow while giving Annie a smirk. "Let me guess, sit down on the couch, drink soda or beer, and listen to rock music?"
"You bet, dude."
"Then yeah. I'm totally down for that." With the two agreeing on that, the two tomboys exited the garage and headed off back to the living room.
Meanwhile...
With Crystal...
It took a moment of two for her to find Odin's house, but she managed to find it. Crystal was planning on just staying home and not bother doing anything else, but since she hasn't seen Katie all day today, she felt like it was probably best that she did. Not to mention, she did have some concerns for Annie when it came to her leaving her dad's house, so she felt like checking up on her about that too.
Upon arriving at Odin Revolution's house, Crystal runs up to the front porch of the house, then knocked on it. She stepped back and waited a bit, all while listening to the loud music that was heard inside the house. She tapped her foot enjoying the music, until Annie finally answered the door for her. When she saw the rebel girl standing outside, Annie smiled.
"Hey...Katie said you'd be coming over." Annie told the rebel. "Come on in, dude."
"Thanks." Crystal said as she walked into the house. "Where's Katie going to be?"
"In the living room." Annie then closed the door, before asking Crystal one more question. "Want anything to drink?"
"Thanks, but no. I'm not thirsty right now."
"Alright."
The two then went over to the living room, where in that room, Katie was simply sitting on the couch holding a cup of soda in her hands. The stereo that was in this room was playing the song 'Misery Business' by Paramore. For Crystal, from the looks of it, this definitely feels like another typical day for both Annie and Katie. She too knew that this is what they'd usually do whenever they hung out with each other.
"How am I not surprised you guys are doing this, the day you guys reunited?" Crystal asked.
Katie was taken out of her thoughts, noticing that her best friend is finally here. She quickly stood up from the couch, placing her drink down as she did so. "Crystal!" Katie nearly shouts. "I barely noticed you. When did you get here?"
"Just now."
"Well, awesome." Katie then sat back down onto the couch again, before smiling at her best friend. "Why don't you sit down with us, Crystal? The only armchair is free for you to sit on."
"Thanks."
Crystal went over to the only armchair that was in the living room, then sat down onto it. Annie went back to the couch, then sat down next to Katie once again. The three of them continued to listen to the rest of the song, until it came to an end. Which, afterwards, was when Crystal decided to start a conversation with the two tomboys, primarily just Katie though.
"So, girls...it's Friday tomorrow." Crystal said with a smile. "Either of you two got any plans?"
"Well, not with me." Annie said with a shrug. "I'm pretty much going to be here, probably listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers or Radiohead like I normally do whenever the weekend is about to start."
"Okay. Katie?"
"Nothing really. I'm completely free to hang out tomorrow." Katie said. "Why? What do you want to do?"
"Well...I've been giving it some thought..." Katie then raises an eyebrow, wondering where this conversation was even going, but that was when the rebel continued. "There's this man that I'm friends with..."
"No."
"What? You didn't even let me finish what I was going to say."
"I know." The brown-haired tomboy then glared at her best friend. "It's just that every boy you always become friends with a day or two ago, they always end up being bad boys. Somebody like that would not be good for somebody like me to date."
Hearing that last part, Crystal scoffed while rolling her eyes. "You're acting like I'm trying to get you two to date. He has a girlfriend."
"Okay...so your point is?"
"Well, yeah, he is a bad boy...but I'm just saying that if you two met, you two would probably become good friends in seconds."
"Really?"
"Yeah. He's got a cool motorcycle, he knows how to skateboard just like you, and...let's just say, he's totally sexy too." Crystal gave a chuckle at the last part said, as Katie rolled her eyes clearly disinterested still. "Besides, I told him all about you already. Though, he's a bit skeptical about how cool you are, so..."
"Damn it, Crystal...you told some random dude I've never met who I am?"
"All I said was that you're a dentist and that you know how to skateboard." Crystal then pats her best friend on the arm. "Come on, bad boy or not, he's a totally nice guy and you'd totally like him. Trust me."
Katie just remained silent for a couple more seconds. She always hated it whenever she and Crystal would get into an argument involving boys, whether it would be about what Crystal would think Katie would like to date, or if Katie would feel iffy about a boy Crystal wants to date. Their arguments even end up being about if they should be friends with them or not too. All in all, their arguments about boys go absolutely nowhere.
Instead of letting this argument go any further, Katie just sighed before giving a simple answer to the rebel. "Okay...fine..." She said. "My dad's going to be at the dentist building tomorrow morning finishing up getting me hired there, so...I guess you can bring your friends over to my house."
"Great." Crystal said. "I'll talk to both Chaz and Tim and they can meet up with you. When you meet them, you won't regret it."
"Yeah...I doubt I will..." Katie said under her breath, before taking another sip of her soda.
