Back at Katie's house...
So far, it had only been about twenty minutes since Chaz and Summer had arrived at Katie's house...and so far, things haven't exactly gone the way Crystal was expecting.
Throughout that small period of time, the only thing that the group really did was just head off to the living room to watch some TV together. Crystal and Chaz were sitting next to each other on the couch, while Katie was sitting on her dad's armchair. Summer wanted to sit with them, but there weren't anymore seats left for her and she wasn't wanting to sit on the ground. Not to mention the fact that Crystal was sitting with her boyfriend right now, which she really didn't want to see. Summer just remained in the dining room for the time being.
All seemed pretty calm while they were all watching TV, but from the looks on their faces, Chaz and Katie appeared to be absolutely annoyed being in the same room together. Neither of them had said a single word to each other throughout the hangout. Hell, Katie hadn't said a single word throughout the last few minutes, not to Chaz, not to Crystal, nothing. All that the tomboy did was just keep her eyes on the TV and just ignored the two on the couch the entire time. To be fair, Crystal kind of expected this after the argument that had almost occurred outside the house.
Eventually, Katie finally said something after about another three minutes later. However, it was only to tell Crystal that she was going to get a drink from the kitchen. The tomboy stood up out of the armchair and headed over to the kitchen.
Once there, Katie went over to the refrigerator and pulled out one of the soda bottles that was in there. She pulled out a cup from the cabinet, then turned towards the dining room table seeing Summer sitting there on her phone. The two hadn't spoke to each other all that much after what happened between her and Chaz. She wasn't too sure if she was angry about that or not, but regardless of that, she decided to ask her something since she was in here right now.
"Hey Summer." Katie said, causing Summer to look towards her direction. "Do you want anything to drink?"
"No thanks. I'm good." Summer said before looking back down at her phone again.
"Oh...okay then." Katie then proceeded to pour herself a drink, then placed the soda bottle back into the refrigerator. "Say, why are you in here? Shouldn't you be out there sitting with your boyfriend?"
"What show are you guys watching?"
"Oh, just Friends. Why?"
"Then no thanks." Summer then looked down at her phone again.
Katie felt like it would be a bad idea to do. She knew that Crystal hated Summer, and knew that the rebel would get furious if she were to talk to the person that she hated the most. But so far, compared to Chaz, she seemed to be a lot more reasonable than she expected. Not to mention, she doesn't seem to be all that mean as Crystal described her before. It was still probably a bad idea, but Katie sat down in one of the other chairs as the conversation continued from there.
"Anyways, I find it weird talking to somebody like you, Katie. You're friends with Crystal, and yet you seem less of a total bitch than her." Summer said, placing her phone aside. "How does somebody like you spend time with a complete jerk like her?"
Katie just silently takes another sip of her drink, before placing her cup back down onto the table. "Crystal has her moments, I can safely admit that to you..." The tomboy simply said. "But she's not a bully like say...either Brandi or Derek. Now both of those dudes are complete assholes through and through...but Crystal on the other hand, she's not a bully like those two. She has a tendency to be mean at times, but she's not a bully."
Hearing all of this said, all Summer could do in response was just give the tomboy a scoff. "Like, I find that so hard to believe, considering that Crystal always hated the cheerleaders back in the Royal Academy..."
"Well, all I can say to that is if you lived in Crystal's household...considering that she has four other sisters who are cheerleaders...then you'd probably hate them too." The tomboy then pointed at herself before continuing. "Either way, despite everything Crystal had told me countless times beforehand, I have no issue with you or the other cheerleaders back in the Royal Academy. Just because I'm friends with Crystal, doesn't mean I agree with her when she goes on and on about how much she hates them."
"Well that's good, at least..." Summer then looks over to the walkway that leads back to the living room now. "Speaking of Crystal, I'm guessing you're annoyed that she invited me and Chaz over here, right?"
"What do you think? So far, I'm fine with you...but I can't say the same about your boyfriend." The tomboy rolled her eyes before taking another sip of her drink. "I still can't believe of all men she could invite to my house, it had to be him."
"Why did he invite him over here, exactly?"
"Beats me...all I can guess is that it's because I'm cool and that I know how to skateboard...and that's about it." The tomboy places her cup down, before glaring at Summer. "Seriously though, how can stand somebody like him anyway? That dude's an asshole."
"No, he's not an asshole. You do know that you're only calling him one all because of one single accident that happened two days ago, right?"
"All I'm saying is that he should've handled that situation a lot better than attempting to start an argument with me. The fact that we got ourselves in another one a couple minutes ago isn't making what had happened any better."
"Like I said, it was only two days ago. If you ask me, I'd just get over it." Summer then gave a light smile to the tomboy before continuing to reassure her about Chaz. "Besides, just give Chaz some time. I'm sure one of these days, you are going to see that he isn't truly that bad a person."
Katie scoffed at Summer's words. "Sure I will..."
'Well, all I can really say is that she's as stubborn as Crystal...' Summer said in her thoughts. '...But at least I don't have to worry about her stealing Chaz from me whenever she's around...unlike that rebel bitch, that's for sure...'
With Crystal and Chaz...
Little did either of the two girls knew, Crystal was hiding besides the wall overhearing their conversation in the hallway...
Crystal had previously took notice of the long amount of time that it was taking for Katie to get herself one cup of soda for herself. She was curious what was taking her friend so long, while at the same time, she had a bad feeling that she was talking to Summer. She wasn't surprised that they were talking considering that the moment they first met, it seems like Katie and Summer didn't hate each other upon first glance. Seeing them talk was enough to get Crystal's blood to boil.
'Great...Katie's bonded with that bitch.' Crystal said in her thoughts, as she began to make her way back to the living room. 'Hypocrite...Katie's totally fine with Summer, but not Chaz? What the actual hell?'
Crystal went over to the couch and sat down next to Chaz. "Well...Katie's talking to Summer now..." She mutters as she sat down next to her friend. "This was not what I had in mind when I brought you guys here."
"Well, I told you that I doubt I would've liked your friend in the first place, and from what it seems, I'm right." Chaz told the rebel. "This girl that you're trying to make me be friends with is a bitch, not to mention that she's the person that ran right into me when I was exiting my friend's apartment. I even told you that this happened..."
"You're acting like I knew that Katie was the one who ran into you." The rebel then leans forward onto her knees, rubbing the back of her neck. "Well...I had a feeling that she probably was, but...then again, when I was thinking that, it was only an assumption."
"Yet you still invited me over here despite that?"
"Yeah, well..." Crystal then slaps her forehead, letting her hand slide down her face as she groaned. "God damn it...why does this one little incident have to be such a fucking big deal to you two?"
"I don't know, nor do I really care. I just want this conversation to be over with already." Chaz stood up from the couch, before looking down at the rebel girl behind him. "Do you know where the bathroom is in this house?"
"Yeah. It's upstairs." Crystal said while pointing behind herself at the stairs in the hallway. "It should be the first door to your left once you're up there."
"Great. Thanks." After saying that, Chaz went upstairs.
It was at this moment, Katie finally came back into the living room to sit back down with Crystal and Chaz. She places her drink down onto the coffee table, then sat back down at the armchair she was previously sitting at before. She remained silent the entire time, as she knew that Crystal was probably going to question what had took her so long to return to the living room. If she were to figure out that she was talking to Summer, she would completely lose her mind with her for doing so.
Unfortunately, Crystal not bringing it into question didn't last very long. "So...how was your conversation with Summer back there?" Crystal asked her best friend.
"Shit..." Katie whispered to herself, right as she sat back down. She then turned her head towards her best friend before holding up a hand. "Well, don't worry about what me and her had talked about, alright? Neither one of us talked about you." Katie said, clearly lying about that.
Crystal was about to call her friend out on this, but decided not to. This day was already stressful for her enough, and her two friends had almost gotten into an argument not too long ago anyway. So instead of calling her out on this, Crystal decided to just sigh and glare forward at the TV, not saying another word.
"Yeah, whatever..." Crystal mutters, as she and her best friend continued to watch TV together.
