The next day...

With Travis...

He had already woken up moments ago, and eee trying to move as fast as could to meet Chaz and Tim at the coffee shop.

Ever since the two had graduated from the Royal Academy, both Travis and Liberty agreed to share the same house together. Months prior, Travis didn't want to live at his parents house any longer, so he decided to find a house to live in on his own. Not soon after he had found his new house, his girlfriend willingly agreed to live alongside him just in case that he needed any sort of help with. Both of them have jobs, and they've been able to handle everything in this house without a single problem.

Travis just remained sitting there at the table, sitting some breakfast while thinking about how things were going to play out later tonight. He had previously told Liberty days ago that he has a huge surprise for her, and ever since he told her, she's been anticipating to figure out what it was. Thankfully, when he takes her out on their date later, Travis will finally be able to tell her what the surprise is.

Once he gotten finished, Travis quickly placed his dishes into the sink, then grabbed his jacket so that he can finally leave the house. Hopefully, Liberty doesn't end up waking up and noticing him leaving. The last thing he needed was for her to wake up, right as he was going to head off to talk to two other people about the surprise.

Unfortunately, right as Travis entered the living room...

"Good morning, Travis." Liberty said as she was coming down the stairs. "I'm quite surprised to see you awake this early. It's Saturday."

"What?" Travis asked, before quickly looking over to the calendar that was hanging on the wall next to him. "Oh, it is! I completely forgotten that it was Saturday today." He then smiled, before chuckling nervously. "I...just have somewhere to go to this morning...that's all."

"Really? Where do you have to be? Neither of us have work today."

"I know, but I just...really need to talk to a couple of friends about the surprise I'm going to give to you later tonight." Travis then began to make his way over to the front door of their house. "I just want some confidence in trying to present the surprise to you during our date tonight, because...I feel like this night has to be perfect..."

"Very well then...just don't get too carried away with all of this, Travis. However the night goes, I believe that I will be happy with the surprise regardlessly."

"Well...I hope." Travis then looks down at his phone, checking to see what time it was. "Alright, well...I probably should get going now. I have to meet up with my friends right now. Can't leave them hanging at the coffee shop all morning."

"Coffee shop? I thought that you..."

"Wish I can talk some more, but really, I must be going now." Travis swings the front door open, then stepped out of the house. He waved at his girlfriend, giving her a smile as he exited the house. "I'll be home in time for us to go on our date. I'll see you soon."

"Um...alright..." Without another word said, Travis immediately closes the front door leaving Liberty alone in their shared house.

Liberty just remained standing there, keeping her eyes on the front door for a couple more seconds. She honestly didn't expect her first conversation with her boyfriend today to be so quick, and end abruptly out of nowhere. She still wasn't too sure what this surprise that Travis has to show her later on during their date, but it would seem like whatever it is, it truly seems like it's very important for him to show her. She still couldn't wait one bit to see what it is.

Eventually, Liberty had gotten bored of looking at the door, causing her to turn towards the stairs nearby. She went over to them and began to make her way up them so that she can go to her bedroom. "If Travis is out and about, I probably should take this time to figure out which dress I should wear tonight." Liberty said to herself as she went up the stairs.

Outside the house...

Travis made his way over to the sidewalk, and began making his way over to the coffee shop.

Along the way, James was just passing by him in order to get to Jenny's house. The two didn't speak to each other at all when they passed each other, since neither one of the two would really considering the other one a friend. Travis just thinks that James attempts to act cool with the other goths too much, while the geeky goth never really talked to him all that much in the past. The only thing that they did when they saw each other was just smiled with a bow of the head.

As James continued to walk down the sidewalk, he reaches into his jacket. He pulls out a bouquet of flowers that he had recently bought at the Nightshade's Florist moments ago, hoping that these would be a good enough gift to give to Jenny. Granted, he knows that his best friend would usually prefer either a video game or a comic book as a gift, but since this is an attempt at romance, James felt like approaching his best friend with a different gift.

As he continued to walk, he heard a voice come out of nowhere nearby. "Ooh...Are you going to be giving that to somebody?" A female voice said right behind him.

Hearing that voice, James quickly turned around to see who was standing right behind him. At first, he thought it was Yuki since she lives nearby Jenny's house, however, she would always be with Goth Boy at this time. When he did look behind himself, a girl with brown hair in two ponytails, a white visor, a dark blue jacket with a green tube-top underneath, and light blue jean shorts was standing there behind him.

"Oh brother...I forgot if romance is about to bloom, Sapphire is around..." James muttered to himself. "What are you doing out here, Sapphire?"

"I...live nearby, remember?" The girl asked. "I was just about to meet up with Candy and Zack, until I saw you carrying those flowers in your hands." She then walked right in front of the geeky goth, before looking down at the bunch of flowers he was carrying. "So who's the lucky girl?"

"My best friend, Jenny."

"Jenny? That one girl who like, talks about how much she's in love with Captain Argon from StarCruiser X?" The goth nodded his head, as Sapphire cringed at that. "Ooh...like, I can totally see you trying to go out with that Yuki girl you hang out with more than I see you dating her..."

"Oh, try to rain on my parade all you like, but I'm sure that if I go up to Jenny's house and give her this..." He then glanced down at the flowers in his hand, giving them a smile. "...Then I'm sure that our friendship will grow into being more than...well, just friends, you know?"

James was about to head off and leave Sapphire behind, but it seemed that the girl was refusing to let him leave just yet. She then went in front of him again, before placing a hand on his chest. "Before you go, do you want me to give you any sort of advice on how to tell Jenny, in case you're nervous?"

"What?"

"I forgot to mention this, but...whenever somebody needs help or advice on how to start relationships, or anything about love, exactly." The girl then smiled, before placing her arms behind her back. "So do you want any sort of pointers on how to tell her?"

James just scoffed, before moving Sapphire to the side. "I don't need advice on how to tell somebody like Jenny that I'm in love with her. You're some girl who hangs out at the club, not my therapist...now get lost."

The geeky goth continued to head off to Jenny's house, leaving Sapphire to cross her arms and stare at him with a snide look on her face. "Okay...just don't come crying to me when you like, completely fail to tell her."

"Whatever. Like I would, anyway..."

James just continued to walk away from the party girl, as Sapphire just turned the other direction and headed off somewhere else. "Man, that guy is an asshole..." She muttered before proceeding to walk away from him.

Thankfully for James, it wasn't much of a long walk to finally get to Jenny's house from there. The house was about two houses left from where Travis and Liberty live, and it was about a couple more steps to get there. Upon seeing his best friend's house, he took a deep breath and began to head over so that he can try to finally tell Jenny how he feels about her.

James approached the front door. He held the bouquet up in his hands, then pressed the doorbell. The goth took another deep breath, feeling a little unsure with how to actually tell his best friend that he wants to go out with her. He didn't have much time to think, since the door was already opening for him. He closed his eyes, and held the flowers forward.

"Jenny, I'm here so that I can ask you..." The geeky goth started off saying, only to open his eyes to see who it was standing in front of him. Unfortunately, it wasn't Jenny at all...it was her father. When he saw him, James quickly hidden the bouquet of flowers behind his back. "Oh...I'm sorry. Is Jenny home?"

"James, you are aware that my daughter is at work around this time, yes?" Jenny's father asked him. "She won't be back home until later on tonight."

"...Oh...right...I forgotten that Jenny was at work..." The geeky goth then chuckles nervously before deciding to ask something about that. "Uh...when will she be returning home exactly?"

"Around midnight."

"Damn it..." The goth muttered, before taking a step backwards. He then fakes a smile, before continuing to walk backwards towards the sidewalk behind him. "Well...I hopefully will talk to her tomorrow then..."

"Alright." Jenny's father closes the door, then continued to do whatever it was he was originally doing.

Turning around, the goth loses his smile quickly. He should've expected Jenny to be working around this time when he was going to attempt to tell her his feelings, but at the same time, he hoped that he went to her early enough before work started. Even worse is that midnight was a lot of hours away at the moment, he couldn't wait that long enough to tell her. James was never really good at being patient at times.

This wasn't a complete defeat however. Right before he could leave, James decided to place the bouquet in the one place that he hopes his friend will find it in, the mailbox. He then pulls out a piece of paper that he'd been carrying in his pocket, as well as a pen. Then he wrote something down onto it.

'Hey Jenny, these are for you. I was meaning to tell you this today, but...you weren't home. I've always been meaning to ask you this, however, I never really had the time to tell you...I was always nervous, and...I was hoping that these would be the first step in telling you how I feel about you.' James wrote down, before placing the note into the mailbox as well. After that, the goth then proceeded to head on home.
