Season 2 Episode 7:

(Doctor Felger, a man who had a crush on Sam for years, is tasked with saving the life of Captain Conrad Baird.).

Off world missions was Sam's favourite part of the job. But being alone with Conrad, was even better. While the village they were staying in was very small, they managed to find themselves a private spot. In a hut by themselves.

Sam was breathing very heavily. "Ah yeah, ah yeah." She repeated. Conrad was trailing kisses down her neck. Damn did it drive her over the edge. "Don't stop there." She said. A loud bang on the door scared the living daylight out of them. "Open up!" they heard Daniel. Conrad walked to the door and opened the door. He was in his combat boots and trousers while his top was removed. Daniel then lifted a brow. "Was I interrupting something?" he asked. Conrad crossed his arms. "You know me Daniel, no sex before engagement." He said. Daniel nodded. "Okay.".

Getting dressed they went to see the town's council. The three elderly men were sitting behind the huge table. Jack was adding to the list what Earth has to offer. This planet was more on the Medieval Ages. It gave Sam the creeps. Conrad, who is a huge History Nerd, somehow, felt quite comfortable with these guys. He was kind to the locals, he told the children stories of how SG-1 fought the Goa'uld. The women were all very interested in him and presented offers to become his wives, which really pissed Sam off. But Conrad will always politely decline.

The planet has nothing to offer, but they did get permission to built a base on the planet. As the team walked through the town, an arrow flew through the air, going right into Conrad's shoulder. He turned around to see a boy with a bow. "You dishonoured my mother! She has to marry!" the boy yelled. Conrad looked at him. "Kid, I don't want to shoot you, but I will if I have to.". The boy fired another arrow. Conrad caught it and then looked at the arrow. Purple liquid dripped from the arrow.

Poison.

"Kak. (Shit.).". He fell down, his veins were visible from his skin, they were black, his breathing was slow and heavy. He was dying. Without thinking twice. The team took him and ran for the gate. Sam dialled as quickly as possible, when the wormhole formed, Daniel sent his iris code and they jumped in.

Traveling through the wormhole was intense but they made it through. Hammond went over and yelled. "What happened?". Jack then spoke fast. "Conrad has been poisoned.". Teel'c went to the infirmary fast.

Fraiser then immediately got to work. An hour later, they managed to sustain him but the poison was spreading. Sam was next to Conrad's side the whole time now. "Please tell me you got some good news.". Fraiser shook her head. "The poison is literally building up Naquadah in his blood. If the level rises more, he won't survive another 48 hours.". Sam was now covering her mouth to hide her sobs. She couldn't loose him like how she lost all the other men she once loved. Fraiser spoke again. "There is one guy though, who knows how these kinda things works but, you aren't gonna like him.". Sam then automatically knew the answer. "No.".

In another lab was a rather fat guy working on a project. But the guy wasn't working, he was fantasizing of him dating Carter.

Yeah, we all know who I am talking about. Doctor Jay Felger.

But his fantasy was ruined when someone knocked on the door. Turning around he saw it was Carter. "Major Carter, h-hi." He stuttered nervously. This guy really needs to get a life. Sam walked up to him and spoke the one thing she hoped never to say again after the whole Avenger virus thing. "I need your help.". Felger couldn't help but smile at himself. His crush asked him for help? Hell, he would do anything for her. "What do you need?" he asked rather excited.

For the first time he met Captain Conrad Baird. Felger admired this guy's work. A lot. "It's an honour sir." He said. Conrad, who was barely conscious, spoke very dryly. "Can you help me?" he asked. Felger nodded. "I'll do my best.".

Felger was given everything needed for the job. A blood sample, Naquadah sample, equipment and a lab partner, Sam. Felger was inspecting the blood sample very closely through his microscope. "How did the Naquadah even get in his blood?" he asked. Sam, who was writing formulas and equations on a white board looked at him. "Poison.". Felger mouthed an 'Oh' but then asked. "How did it get in his system?". Sam then said. "He got shot with an arrow.". Felger then spoke. "I need to know of these things otherwise I can't make an antidote.". Sam then groaned. This guy was right. So the grabbed a pen and paper and wrote everything down. While she was distracted Felger made a quick glance to Sam's figure. But once she was done he then went back to work.

Reading the paper he then said something. "A kid shot him? Where did he get the poison?". Sam then knew, this was gonna go nowhere with this rate.

Traveling through the Stargate they went back to P3X-676. Sam and Felger walked through the town. Felger was so scared he was shitless. Sam continued walking until she found the boy. The boy, made a run for it. Sam chased after him. While Felger was exceptionally slow, he took his zat gun and went down a side ally. As he was running and catching his breath he crashed into the kid. The kid landed on some barrels and Felger fell into a water trough. Sam arrived on time and shot the kid with a zat blast. Looking at Felger she nodded. "Nice job catching him.". Felger, got out and was soaking wet. "I did?".

The boy was now in a holding cell in the SGC. Sam was sitting in front of him. "Why did you attack my friend like that?" she demanded him to answer. The boy crossed his arms. "He dishonoured my mother! He refused her proposal!". Sam then spoke very harshly. "Did you ever thought that's because he has someone already?". The boy then started quivering. "I- I- I didn't know.". Sam then spoke in a more kinder tone. "I need to know, where did you get the poison?".

The boy then started his story. "One moon ago, a stranger came to our village. He said his name was Ares. He and his army gave me the poison, he said if a man he described as your friend comes, he is a follower of evil, I must kill him in order to join the ancestors in eternal paradise.". Sam then crossed her fingers together. "Is there and antidote?" she asked. The boy shook his head. "No.".

Sam then went to Felger. "Please tell me you got something?". Felger nodded. "I managed to identify a small matter inside the poison sample. I can reverse engineer it to make an antidote. But I need something. I need a Stragoth mimic device, I need to mimic the antidote, and the Stragoth blood is a prefect mimic material.". Sam then automatically knew where to go.

Hammond was giving full authority for the mission. Sam was at the gate and was waiting for it to activated. Felger, who was dressed in BDU's. Sam saw him and covered her face with her hand. Why does this guy have to go with her? As Felger got there he was literally skipping. "This is exciting." He said. Sam just one thing. "Don't slow me down." She said. Felger's smile dropped. "Oh.". The gate formed a wormhole with P3X-118. Sam and Felger walked simultaneously through. As they arrived, the planet was dark, barely did any sunlight reach the floor, the Stragoth was roaming the area. A huge city was insight. Felger then said where to go. "If we can one alone, we can collect the blood sample and go home.

Sam nodded. They snuck through alleys and then at the end found two of these cockroach like aliens fighting. The fight ended with one dying. Felger waited for the other one to leave. Once it did, he rushed over and collected the blood. When he did and he met with Carter they went straight for the gate. When they got back Fraiser was waiting for them. Sam automatically knew something was wrong. "What is it?" she asked. Fraiser spoke slowly. "It's Conrad, the Naquadah built up is going faster then I expected. He won't survive another three hours.".

Felger then immediately ran for his lab. He got to work and was done within the hour. He arrived out of breath. "I done it.". Sam took the vile and then asked what to do. "What do I do?". Felger then gave the instructions. "You need to inject it where he got shot.

They turned Conrad over and injected slowly. When they laid him down on his back, something went wrong.

He started shaking, his vitals were spiking. Fraiser then immediately got to work. Sam turned to Felger. "What did you do!?" she demanded. Felger was panicking himself. "I don't know! I did it right I swear!". As Fraiser got to work, Conrad's heart stopped. Fraiser then grabbed the defibrillator. She used it rapidly but nothing happened. Fraiser cursed under her breath. "We lost him." she said with regret. Sam then turned to Felger. "This is your fault!" she shouts. Jack, who was next to her, took her and hugged her tight. "It's okay. It's okay.". Daniel took his glasses off. Teel'c bowed his head and placed his fist over his chest. Fraiser, turned the machines off. As everyone was grieving, Conrad sat upwards and said one thing. "Son of a bitch!" yeah more like yelled it out. "Why does it feel like an elephant sat on my head?!". Sam, who burst out into tears hugged him. "Don't you scare me like that.".

Felger, let out a sigh of relief. Conrad, saw him and held his hand out. "I guess I should thank you for saving my life.". Felger nodded. "That would be me.". Conrad shook hands with him. "Thank you. I am in your debt.". Felger nodded.

The Prometheus was under attack by a Ha'tak vessel. Felger was in the captain seat and giving orders. "Shields on maximum. Weapons at full power.". A major then yelled. "Sir! Enemy fighters on our tails!". Felger then got up. "Captain Baird, take command, I gotta mission to fly.". A very nervous Conrad rose. "It will be my honour sir.".

Felger got in the F-302's hanger but a very nervous Sam stopped him. "Jay, you'll get hurt." She was acting all girly and it would even give me nightmares! Jay straighten himself and said. "It's what I do.". A very nervous and girly Sam gave a girly smile, Jay kissed her and swung her over making her hang in his arms, sparks flew everywhere.

But in the back round a voice kept calling his name.

Felger, Felger, Felger!

Felger was back in his lab and was sitting again. His lab assistant was telling him to keep his mind in the experiment in front of him.

(In all my time writing this series, I never thought I would involve this sad character. But you got to hand it to this guy, he is a pain in the ass but he always screws up and fixes his mistakes.
