Season 3 Episode 3:
(Conrad is in. He and his new "master" Tomin assists in a battle against rebel Jaffa. Conrad does his best not to kill. But Tomin learns of his apprentice's real intentions.).
Conrad was considered as the apprentice but, Tomin knew something wasn't right. Conrad was a skilled warrior but, he didn't really look that serious when it came to religion. At prostration he wasn't paying any attention at all. When the prior read from the book of origin, Conrad was always thinking of something else. Tomin admitted, he started questioning the ways of the Ori, he too, started to think the Ori might not be gods. But he kept that information to himself.
The Ori soldiers on board the Mothership were patrolling. Conrad, who was the General's apprentice wasn't needed to do patrolling. He was training with his master. The staff weapons made excellent combat weapons too. Conrad bested Tomin atleast twice in five minutes. Tomin was impressed.
"So, where are we going anyway?" Conrad asked. Tomin answered. "We are going to a Jaffa attack on one of our temple grounds. It's a holy place.". Conrad nodded. " I see.". Tomin wanted to asked a question, so he did. "Maximus, you don't seem to be very strongly connected to the gods, are you?". Conrad shrugged again. "Well, my parents, died by the hands of evil, I prayed to the Ori to spare them, it never happened. I started questioning my believes for a while.".
What Conrad was saying was true, he did question his faith in Christ for a while, but he learnt everything happens for a reason. He had to make peace with it.
Tomin nodded. "Oh, I, lost my wife, Vala, she is the mother of the Orici, she is a being clouded by mislead. It hurts for me not able to save her.". Conrad played along. "The Orici doesn't think so.". Tomin chuckled. "Yeah, I guess.". It was at that moment their ship jumped out of hyperspace. The temple was in ruins. Tomin slapped his fist on the control panels. Conrad crossed his arms. "They beaten us to it." He acknowledged. Tomin then ordered the men to throw a full scale attack. The Orici was on the grounds.
As the Jaffa were fighting the Ori warriors, SG-1 was on the ground watching. Mitchell didn't like this idea. "Do you think your plan will work?". Teel'c nodded. "Indeed Colonel Mitchell, I am sure of it.". The plan was meant to make it look like that Conrad was in fact on the Ori's side of the war. Teel'c spend days planning.
Conrad and Tomin were behind some stone blocks and hid from fire. Tomin showed Conrad with two of his fingers that he should attack from the left. Conrad nodded. Going up he dodged the shots. But when he started shooting, he always shot them in the legs, wounding them. He couldn't kill his allies, Teel'c had the craziest plan! And Conrad though seeing Teel'c with hair was crazy already! The Teel'c he knew doesn't have hair!
The Orici arrived, that's when, hell broke loose. As the Jaffa fired, Adria stopped the lasers and shot them back like if an invisible shield protected her, then again, she does have powers that make her control things with her mind! Conrad wants to shoot her right now! But he can't, his cover will be blown. So he played his act.
Tomin then called him over to help him protect the Orici. Conrad got there as fast as possible. He stood in front of her and Tomin behind. They kept firing at the Jaffa. But a stray shot hits Conrad right in the shoulder. He knelt down and covered his wound while biting on his teeth in pain. "Man! I forgot how much a staff weapon blast hurts!". The Orici then knelt next to him and used her powers to heal him. Damn was he surprised. Adria spoke. "Consider us even, sense you saved my life.".
Damn! Conrad thought to himself. He had a chance to kill her and make it look like an accident! He wasted it!
When the warriors hauled his ass back onto the mothership, he was placed in the healer's care. He hated every second of it. When they were done he was relieved from active duty by the Orici. But she invited him to her quarters. One word popped into his head.
Trouble.
When he got to her door he was considering on blowing his cover. He doesn't give a shit. Knocking twice, the Orici granted permission to enter. When he did he was relieved to see her sitting at a table with food. So this was a dinner party. He was glad of that.
"Sit down." Adria told him politely. Conrad placed his helmet on the table and sat down. Removed his gloves and sat there. "Maximus, if that is your real name." Adria kind off stated. Conrad got nervous, was his cover blown? "It is, I can go home and get my birth certificate for you.". Adria chuckled. "No need. I actually called for you for I need your help. Recognized these people?". A holographic image of SG-1 popped up. Conrad knew well that he can't get emotionally involved. So he lied. "No." well it wasn't a lie in a point of view. He didn't know them personally. Adria then zoomed in on Vala. "This is my mother. She is under the influence of evil. I want you to rescue her.". Conrad nodded. "Do you know where she is?".
Adria nodded. "Earth.". Conrad crossed his arms. "If I do this, we do this my way. Alone.". Adria smiled. "Thank you. Hallowed are the Ori.". Conrad repeated with irritation lurking up his spine. "Hallowed are the Ori.".
The gate was being active. As the gate sprung to life, Conrad secretly activated his IDC. Conrad walked through. As he arrived at base the entire SGC looked confused.
Conrad had to explain his dilemma, Vala, of course at first refused. "I am not going back there muscles.". Conrad tried to explain his idea. "Yeah I know but-" he waited for a second. "Muscles?" he asked. Vala shrugged. "I think it's fitting.". Conrad literally broke the pencil in his hand in half. "Stop it." He ordered. Vala winked at him. "Alright, can you explain me how do you plan on getting me there?".
Conrad placed his plan out. "Well, first, I need you guys to beat me up, make it look like I put up a good fight. Then I need Vala to be bind up to make it look like she tried to escape. While I take you to Adria, make it look like you don't know me.". He took a breath. "I will bust you out that night. Use my IDC, I will find another way back.".
Conrad was getting a beating. Mitchell punched him in the stomach. Teel'c threw him over the weightlifting gear. But none of the attacks didn't even leave a scratch. Daniel did cut his wrist. Which isn't enough. Now it was Sam's turn. "Are you sure? I don't think this is-" but Conrad interrupted her. "Just suck it up and hit me with your best shot!" he demanded. Sam punched him. Conrad shook his head. His nose was bleeding, his lip was split. He walked to one of the locker doors, he opened it and slammed it hard against his head. His cheek was now bleeding and his eye was a dark purple shade. "I am ready.".
The gate activated and the Ori soldiers stood battle ready. Conrad walked with Vala tied up at the wrists. She was pretending to fight back, she bit Conrad's arm a couple times. He ignored it. Conrad dropped Vala in front of Adria. Adria smiled. "Hello mother, it's been to long.". Vala just looked. "Hello darling.". Adria then looked at Conrad. "By the grace of the Ori, what happened to you?" she asked while cupping his cheek.
Conrad spoke. "Got hurt, those Earthlings really put up a fight.". Adria placed her hand over his face, the wounds healed within a second. "Thank you." He replied. Adria nodded.
As they were walking back to the city, Tomin was walking next to his apprentice. "How did you capture her?". Conrad didn't answer instead he asked Tomin a question. "Do you believe the Ori to be actual gods?" he asked. Tomin thought of it for a while. "I am starting to doubt.". Conrad sighed. "So do I.".
At the city, a group of people were being thrown together and weapons aiming at them. Conrad walked up to Adria. "My noble leader, what's happening?" he asked. Adria spoke. "These unbelievers are a threat to our path to enlightenment.". Conrad watched as the people begged for their lives. It was horrible. They were fired upon and killed. Conrad couldn't bare to watch. Adria and Tomin noticed. "This is the only way." Tomin tried to insure. But he started to see this is cruel. Conrad looked at Adria. "You just stood and watched how innocent children got slaughtered for believing what their parents taught them? That is just despicable.". Adria turned to him and anger was flooding her eyes. "You dare speak to me with such tone?". Conrad eyed her. "I dare to question the methods. I didn't enlist to kill innocent lives. I enlisted to serve justice to those seeking it." He lied.
Adria then handed him a staff weapon, "Then prove it. Shoot that unbeliever warrior.". It was in fact an SGC soldier. He pointed the weapon at him. He hesitates. The man looked at him. He was prepared to die. Conrad couldn't do it. He turned the weapon to a Ori warrior. He shot him. If his cover was blown, he would go down fighting!
He turned the weapon to the Orici and was about to fire when she started choking him with her powers. Adria was… crying? "I thought you could been the one." She said. Conrad was confused. But he then said out loud. "Fuck it!" he forced out. He broke from her grip he went into Cha'tahr mode. His eyes glow of golden. Energy disbursing from his hands. He smiled. "Looks like you didn't wiped out all the Cha'tahr." He mocked.
But instead of scaring her, she was, surprised. "I never met a Cha'tahr before." She admitted. Conrad was confused again. "What?". But before he could speak he was shot with a stun weapon. He grunted and went on his knees. "That really hurts at times." But he was then kicked unconscious.
He woke up feeling a chain on his leg. He was lying on some hay. "Man, those stun weapons hurt at times." He spoke to no-one. He heard a chuckle. It was Vala. "Some plan huh?" she asked sarcastically. Conrad got up. Looking at the chain he laughed. "This is ridiculous." Breaking the chain off of his foot he was fine. He then walked to the door and bended the bars. He was struggling for some reason.
He and Vala then snuck to the gate where Tomin was waiting with two staff weapons. "I can't let you leave." He said. Conrad stood tall. "I don't want to harm you." He said. Tomin nodded. "I know. Which is why I am here with two weapons, I need you to shoot me in the shoulder. Then it will look like you escaped.". He threw one to Conrad.
Without hesitation he shot Tomin in the leg. Dialled earth and walked through with Vala on his six. Tomin smiled. "Se will meet again. Then lets hope, the Ori are defeated.".
