Later that night...
Since James was still at work, Victoria decided to remain downstairs and watched some TV to herself. Normally, her step-brother was usually in the living room either playing video games on his PlayStation 4, or just watching StarCruiser X to himself, but thankfully, he wasn't here tonight. All Victoria knew was that her step-brother was going to be working later tonight, which was actually very good for her. It means less fighting for the TV remote whenever she felt like watching something.
As she sat there on the couch, Victoria continued watching the movie she had decided to watch by herself, as her father and step-mother were talking to each other in the dining room. While she was out in the neighborhood, it didn't surprise her to discover that James's mother had informed Trevor about the argument that she and James had earlier this morning. The argument, oddly enough, didn't end up causing them to argue about what both of their kids had did, but that didn't mean it went completely ignored. Even worse, is that as a punishment for causing that argument, both Emily and Trevor had agreed to find a day to let her kids hang out together for the entire day to try to settle their differences...which to her, it was completely unfair to her. To her, James was more in the wrong than her. For what it's worth, at least she didn't have to hang out with him tonight...let alone, have him discover that she had encountered the rest of the goths today.
While she continued to sit there by her lonesome, Victoria began to hear a knock coming from the front door. Remembering her talk with Ray earlier today, she could only assume that it was Raven who was outside. She wondered how she even found their house in the first place, but then again, there were possibly multiple times that James had invited the goth couple to the house whenever she wasn't here. Regardless, the drama girl stood up from the couch to answer the door for whoever was outside.
Victoria approached the front door, opening it up to see Raven standing on the porch outside. Whether she was here to apologize or not, Victoria found herself feeling a bit hesitant about talking to the goth girl. Not only because of the argument that had ensued earlier, but also because it was pretty clear to her that Raven is suspicious about her feelings for Ray. She knew just by the way she was glaring at her back at Goth Boy's house that the goth girl knew that she had feelings for her boyfriend. She honestly hopes Raven doesn't end up bringing it up while she was here. Taking a bit of a deep breath, Victoria stepped forward to hear Raven out anyways.
"Hey...is now a bad time to talk?" Raven asked the drama girl. "I was just walking around the neighborhood and...well, I thought that I'd stop by to apologize for earlier today."
"No, as a matter of fact, I'm not busy at the moment." Victoria said as she placed her hands in her pockets. "Is that all you need to talk to me about?"
"I'm not done yet...I was wanting to talk about Ray with you..."
It was at that moment, Victoria felt herself frozen in her spot. She had a bad feeling that the conversation was going to somehow lead to this, one way or another. However, instead of Raven being angry with her, which was what she was expecting, the goth girl appeared to be feeling guilt rather than actual anger. She didn't exactly know where this was going, but that was when Raven proceeded to speak.
"Me and Ray have together ever since the beginning of high school, and we've kept nothing from each other. After we had graduated, he has never brought up you whenever we were on dates or when we were hanging out together." Raven told her. She then rubbed the back of her neck, still feeling a bit guilty about the argument back at Goth Boy's house. "Truthfully, discovering that there's been things that he told me yet...especially that Romeo and Juliet play that the school had..." She then sighed. "I don't know...I guess I just...thought that Ray was interested in you and that you were interested in him too. So, yeah...I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions quickly, and for starting that argument back there at Goth Boy's house." She lets out one more sigh. "Do you think I you can ever forgive me?"
Victoria remained silent for a few seconds, before nodding her head. "Of course, dear girl." She said, before holding out a hand. "All is forgiven between the both of us."
"Thanks Victoria." She then shook her hand, before stopping after a few seconds had passed.
"Regardless, thou hast nothing to worry about when it comes to me and Ray." She then smiled, before holding out an arm towards one random direction to her right. "I must admit, Ray hast to be one of the most nicest of all the boys whom I encountered throughout my time in the Royal Academy. So kind, so honest, so smart, and a true gentleman indeed." She then sighed, before lowering her arm and walking over to one part of the porch. "...However, I wilt admit to thee that I hast never been in love with him regardless. Only a true companion and nothing more."
"So...you really don't have feelings for Ray?"
"No...I truly don't." Victoria lied.
"Well, if you really don't have feelings for him...I guess I don't see a problem with accepting you and him being friends." The goth then places her hands on her hips, now smiling at the drama girl. "Also, hey, if you want, maybe we can hang out one of these days too. I mean...you were hanging out with James's crush the other day at the mall."
"I don't think I have ever mentioned that. How did you know that me and Jenny went to the mall together?"
"I saw you and her walking together after you approached us the first time."
"Ah...I see...now I understand."
Raven takes a step backwards off of the porch, prepared to head off now. "I...should probably be heading off now. Violet and I have somewhere to be right now, so...I'll hopefully see you around, okay?" The goth began walking off, as Victoria enters the house once again.
"Alright." She said before closing the door.
Once she was inside the house again, Victoria presses her forehead against the door. She was grateful that the talk didn't escalate into anymore fighting, but she still couldn't believe where the conversation had led to. She couldn't believe that she was now somewhat friends with Raven, despite the fact that she has feelings for Ray. The only good things that came out of that conversation were that she was still able to hang out with her crush and that Raven actually believes that she doesn't have feelings for her boyfriend, but even then she felt like things are going to be even more difficult for her. With how hectic things have became, she just hopes that they don't end up getting more worse than here.
Meanwhile...
It was already an hour before midnight. Normally around this time, most of the people in town would be out at some of the clubs to either hang out with friends or to just party. You'd usually never see anybody at any of the restaurants or shops around this time, especially if you're in the DownTown area. So knowing that, it was quite obvious that nobody was going to be coming into the pharmacy this late at night as well.
Seeing that there's no more customers in the entire building, James and his co-worker felt like now was a good enough time to finally close for the night. The two men went around and did what they'd normally do before they leave. They made sure that there wasn't any trash on the floors, they made sure that the shelves were full of items, and they especially made sure that the lights were off and the doors were locked. After they had done all of that, James and his co-worker made their way out of the building and headed over to the sidewalk that was in front of the pharmacy building.
"Hey dude, me and a couple of friends are gonna be hanging out at my house to play some video games sometime next week. You think you're able to come and hang with us?" The geeky goth's co-worker asked.
"I guess it depends on how things are next week with me." James told him. "There's a lot of things on my mind recently, and I just want to try to focus on getting them settled this week. If things work out though, I should be able to hang out with you and the others."
"Awesome." The man then gets into his car, before looking out the window to his co-worker. "I'll see you tomorrow, James."
"I'll see you tomorrow too." After that, James headed over to the bus stop as his co-worker drove off home.
Despite everybody in town being at either the clubs or at home, James was grateful that he's able to take the bus back to his house. Even better for tonight, when he approached the closest bus stop, he quickly took notice that there was already one waiting for him there. He quickly ran over to it and immediately got on. Once he got onto it, the bus went off to the suburban part of the town.
James remained seated as the bus drove through the town. He just sat there in silence, looking at everyone who was also on this bus along with him. From the looks of how many people there were, it seemed like there were at least five other people aside from him and the bus driver. However, it wasn't when he looked left and right again that he immediately recognized one of the people on the bus to be somebody he knew...and of course, it was Sapphire.
It had been awhile since he has even stumbled upon the party girl throughout the entire incident involving his letter to Jenny. He was surprised to notice that Sapphire's been ironically uninvolved with helping him after the last time that they've spoke. He was wondering what she was up to at this time. Deciding to see what's going on, James got up from his seat and headed over to the party girl.
"Hey! Sapphire!" James said as he sat down next to the party girl. "How have things been? I haven't heard from you in days."
Sapphire looked over to the goth next to her, then smiled. "Oh...let's just say that I've been giving it some thought on how to help you and Jenny get together as a couple..." she said. "I already have a plan on how to help you guys, but...I don't want to say what it is..."
"What? Why not?"
"Let's just say that...it's totally complicated to explain to you...if you like, ask me, I'd probably say just leave everything to me." James seemed rather confused with what Sapphire's plan even was, but decided to nod his head silently. "Anyways, I wish I could like, stay with you on this ride for a bit longer...but, I have like, a party I have to go to, and I have to like, totally party until it's morning." It was at that moment, the bus came to a complete stop at Club Candy. "I'll like, see you one of these days, James."
"Um...sure."
Once their conversation had ended there, Sapphire got up from her seat and headed off of the bus. James just remained seated where he was, watching the party girl leave him to go have fun at the club that she works at. He just stared at her with a suspicious look on his face, feeling rather unsure with what Sapphire even has in store to get him and Jenny to finally be a couple.
'That girl is up to something...' The geeky goth said in his thoughts while rubbing his chin. '...I don't know what she has planned.' The goth just shrugged his shoulders completely unsure with what's going on, as the bus immediately took off back to the neighborhood.
A few minutes has passed by, and the bus finally made it to the Louiston household...
James got off of the bus and headed over to the front door of his house. He pulled out the keys that his mother has given him earlier today, in case any of the other three family members were asleep when he returned. Once he approached the front door, the geeky goth unlocked it and then went inside his house.
Upon entering, James looked towards the couch to see Victoria was watching TV by herself in the living room, while his mother and step-father were most likely upstairs. He wanted to announce that he was home, but he chose not to...considering the argument that he and Victoria previously had earlier this morning, the last thing he really needed was to even face her again. Not to mention that on the way to the pharmacy, his own mother had ridiculed him for have even started that argument in the first place...completely disregarding his concerns about her step-daughter most likely going to indirectly cause a break-up. That alone was another reason why James was in no mood to talk to his step-sister after he had to endure that. Deciding to remain silent, James decided to make his way over to the stairs to go to his bedroom.
Unfortunately, right before he could even get to the stairs, Victoria glared behind herself seeing her step-brother had finally returned home. "Louiston...I was wondering when you were going to return home." The drama girl said as she stood up from the couch.
"Oh brother..." James mutters softly, before turning around to face his step-sister. "What do you want? Haven't you caused enough trouble for one day?"
"You're one to talk, Louiston..." Victoria mutters as she pulled out a folded piece of paper out of her pocket. "Anyway, earlier this morning, I was meant to hand you this. However...after that petty argument you decided to start, I was unfortunately unable to..." She then placed the paper into James's hand, causing the goth to go from angry to confused within seconds.
"What? Who sent me this?"
"I haven't got a single clue, Louiston." Victoria then walked back over to the couch. "Now if you'll excuse me, I must return to watching more of 'The Notebook' now."
"Sure...whatever..." James finally walked up the stairs and headed over to his bedroom.
Once James had finally got to his bedroom, the goth went over to his desk and sat down at it. All he could do was sit there and glance at the paper that he had randomly received today. He had no idea who had left this in the mailbox for him earlier, nor did he know why they did in the first place. He was honestly most curious about what this paper even is. Seeing no other option, the geeky goth finally decided to unfold the paper to see what it even is.
After unfolding the paper, James was quite surprised to see that it was a letter. He was even surprised to notice that this was a love letter even. He just sat there looking at the note as he read what was written on it to himself.
'Dear James, this may come to a surprise to you, but I was just writing this to you to tell you that I am just...deeply in love with you. I have never been able to tell you this because...like you...I've been too shy to even approach you about my true feelings. I can't exactly say who I am here, but if you really must know, you can come meet me down at the movie theater this weekend.' This was all that was written on this love letter. There was no sign of any name of who had even written this love letter to him.
'Oh shit...unlike Jenny, I think I actually DO have a secret admirer...' James said in his thoughts, as he just stared nervously at the paper in his hands.
