Pinky was at a complete lost for words at the moment. She couldn't believe that out of everybody to stop by her house right now, it had to be Preston Winthrop of all people, her best friend's boyfriend. She thought that he was still going to be in Simhatten while she was with Tim tonight. Now that she thinks about it, she didn't know why he was even at her house right now instead of his own girlfriend's house. Whatever the reason is, it was beginning to ruin her hangout time with Tim.
Deciding to confront him about this, Pinky steps out of her house while closing the door behind her. She then pointed a finger at the prep's face, glaring directly into his eyes as she spoke. "What the hell are you doing at my house, Preston?" She asked in an annoyed tone of voice. "Come to think about it, why are you at my house of all places and not BeeBee's house?"
"My word, Pinky...I wasn't expecting you to act so hostile towards me upon my return." Preston said, rather bewildered by his friend's anger towards him. "I was only stopping by so that I can pick up my house-keys from you. I gave you them when I left awhile back, since the last time I handed it over to BeeBee, she lost it among her house full of rabbits." He then lets out a sigh while shaking his head to that fact. "I love that girl, but sometimes, I can never allow myself to leave any of my personal items over at her house knowing that her house is filled to the brim with rabbits."
"Oh, believe me...I already know..." Pinky muttered to herself while rolling her eyes.
"Anyway, I believe you distinctly informed me in one of our phone calls that you left my house-key on top of the desk in your bedroom." The prep then pointed at the front door behind the girl in front of him. "Do you mind if I go inside to collect it?"
"Preston, now is a really bad time for you to come into my house. Why don't I just get it for you?"
It was becoming obvious to Preston at this point that Pinky was trying to hide something from him. "Alright, dear girl...you've been acting weird the second I have arrived here. I'm pretty certain whatever is going on in your house, I don't believe it's anything too major." The man then grabs a hold of the door-handle, then opened the door. "Now enough stalling. I have more important things to be doing rather than standing outside arguing."
Preston then proceeded to walk into the house as Pinky followed him in, still attempting to object the idea of him entering her house right now. Unfortunately, her words fell on deaf ears as he entered the house. "Preston, come on! You really don't have to..."
It was at this moment, Preston walked into the living room of the blue house, only to stop in his tracks upon seeing Tim sitting there on the couch. He was confused with who he was and why he was in Pinky's house. From the look on Tim's face, it seemed like he was equally as confused as the male prep was.
Pinky could only stand nearby them and cringe at what was happening right before her. Everything was going so fine tonight. until Preston decided to stop by out of complete nowhere. She wasn't even too sure what to even say to either one of the two men in her house right now, however, that didn't mean that the silence that had filled the living room lasted much longer after the men saw each other. Still baffled who he was, Preston pointed at Tim and then spoke.
"Um...pardon me for asking, but...who might you be?" Preston asked, glaring directly at Tim. "Also...what are you doing in Pinky's house?"
"She invited me over here so that we can hang out together. That's all." Tim explains to him, as he stood up from the couch to walk over to the prep. "My name's Tim. You must be Preston. Pinky and BeeBee mentioned you a few times to me before..."
"You met BeeBee?" Tim nodded his head after the male prep had asked this to him. Preston could only stare at him with a skeptical look on his face. "Funny...from what I can remember, she has never mentioned you to me before. Not even Pinky has said anything about you either." The prep then looks behind his own shoulder at Pinky standing behind him.
"You know, with my busy schedule at my mother's furniture store, on top of me spending time with BeeBee, you can't expect me to remember and tell you everything." Pinky muttered, before she then walks passed the two men to go over to the stairs nearby. "Look, I'm just going to get your house-keys and bring them back down to you, alright Preston?" The girl grabs a hold of the rail connected to the wall, then glared behind herself at the prep again. "I'll be right back, guys." She then faces forward, then headed up the stairs to go to her bedroom.
Preston just stood there, staring at Pinky walking over to her bedroom and entering it. Once he was unable to see her upstairs anymore, he faced forward looking at Tim once again to question him about a couple things. He was still a bit skeptical about the blue-haired man. If he knew Pinky well, he'd know that it seemed unlikely of her to invite some complete stranger into her house without him or BeeBee knowing about it. Considering that this is literately the first that he's even discovering about Tim, he decided to continue the conversation from there.
"So, how exactly have you met Pinky anyway?" Preston proceeded to ask.
"Oh...me and a couple friends were at the mall a couple days ago, when one of my friends gotten into an argument with Pinky in the food court..." Tim stopped talking for a second, noticing Preston was raising an eyebrow at him, seemingly unhappy to hear this said to him. "But...at the end of the day though, everything resolved itself easily. Pinky came to us and apologized, we decided to drive her back to her house, and...well, I guess you can say that me and her became good friends immediately after all of that." He then lets out a bit of a chuckle before continuing to talk. "You know...this is actually the first time that me and her are...actually hanging out with each other as friends."
"Really?" After hearing that fact, the prep became a lot more skeptical with everything that the man was telling him about. "I don't suppose that you like Pinky a lot, now do you?"
Tim just smiled while shrugging his shoulders. "Truthfully, she's been good to me ever since we first met. I don't think I'd want to be doing anything else right now, to be perfectly honest with you." He then chuckles to himself. "This even beats working and spending time at the auto-shop with my best friend too."
Preston immediately frowned after that last part was mentioned. "My apologies...did you just say that you work at an auto-shop?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Well..." Preston then took a pause. He rubbed his chin while turning around and walking over to where Pinky's back door was, looking out the glass door to look out into her backyard. When he reached it, he then spoke once again. "...No offense, but...I honestly expected Pinky to be hanging out with somebody much more better than you...let alone, date you..."
After that was said to him, Tim was immediately offended by the insults that the prep was saying to him. "W-What does that suppose to mean?" He asked, sounding a little more angry than he normally does whenever something irritates him.
Preston turns around, now facing the now angry blue-haired man that was standing by the side of the couch. "Well, I happen to know a lot of boys that Pinky has had a crush on throughout our time at school together, and...I must say, somebody like you is someone who I believe..." He then narrowed his eyes, glaring directly at Tim as he spoke in a cold tone of voice. "...Entirely beneath her."
"Okay! Now look here, dude!" Tim began to walk over to where the prep was, now getting even more angry with everything that he was saying to him. "Everything you're saying is nonsense! First off, this isn't a date...I feel like I'm saying this a million times already...it's only us hanging out as friends! Second, even if this was a date, you can't just randomly come in here and start insulting me like this!"
"This isn't a date, you say? She did invite your other friends to come here, did she not?"
"She..." Tim took a pause, before sighing in defeat. "...Only invited me. My other friends are...busy elsewhere..."
"I thought so."
"Preston! That's enough!" Pinky's voice spoke out, being heard from nearby.
Both Tim and Preston quickly turned their heads towards where the stairs were, seeing Pinky standing there at the bottom of the stairs glaring at both men. However, from the direction that she was glaring at, she was glaring more at the latter more than she was at her new friend. She already had a bad feeling that moment he got here that Preston was going to be instantly judgmental of Tim, and after witnessing their conversation down here, it only proved her right. It was at this point, she finally decided to kick the prep out of her house.
"Take your damn keys already!" Pinky said as she places Preston's house-keys into his hands. "Get out of my house now!"
"Pinky, you're overreacting here, darling." Preston told her with his usual calm demeanor. "I can assure you that the conversation that me and your new companion was nothing more but civil..."
"I said out!" Pinky pointed towards the front door of her house, glaring directly into the male prep's eyes with pure anger in them.
"Very well then..." Preston held up his arms in a defensive manner and began to make his way towards the front door. "I will...hopefully call you sometime tomorrow, when you are in a...better mood." When he approached the door, he opened it, but then faced the two that were still glaring at him. "Have a pleasant rest of the evening." He simply said, before closing the door and finally leaving the house.
Once Preston was gone, Pinky and Tim were alone once again. Both of them continued to glare at the front door for a good few minutes more. Both of them were slowly calming down, with Pinky now becoming worried how her new friend felt after hearing everything that the prep had told him, while Tim didn't seem all too sure with what to even say. Thankfully, after a few more seconds pass them by, the girl finally decided to break the silence between the both of them.
"Um...hey...listen, don't listen to everything that he just told you, alright?" Pinky said to Tim, concern clearly heard in her voice as she spoke. "Really, that jerk doesn't actually know what kind of boys I'm into when it comes to either being friends with them or dating them. BeeBee doesn't know either." She went over to the couch, sitting back down on the spot that she was previously sitting at before. She places her hands onto her forehead, as she lets out an annoyed groan. "I swear...it's like two dominant my life on almost everything..."
"I'm...sorry about that, Pinky." Tim said as he made his way over to the spot he was previously sitting at before. "To tell you the truth...I guess you could say that my friends are no better than them...Chaz and Crystal kept teasing me about tonight, saying that this little hangout is actually a date, despite I kept telling them otherwise."
Pinky lowers her arms from her face, turning her head towards her blue-haired friend next to her. "Really? They thought this was a date?"
"Yeah...they did. But...another friend of mine actually talked some sense into them and...well, one of them listened and changed their mind."
"Oh...okay then..."
Both of them then fell silent after that. Neither of them really knew what to say or do after everything that has happened moments ago. They didn't even look at each other how awkward their situation had somewhat become, with the exception of an occasional glance or two. It wasn't until both of them realized that the TV was still on in front of them that one of them finally spoke up...or in this case, both of them spoke up.
"Hey, do you want to still..." Both Tim and Pinky said as they both reached for the TV remote on the coffee table in front of them.
Both of them immediately stopped talking the moment they realized they were both about to ask each other the same exact question. They then turned their heads towards each other, now blushing at this sudden realization. They then smiled and chuckled to themselves, as they both sat back in hopes that the other one actually talks first before them. After a few seconds, Pinky decided to finally ask Tim something, still blushing as she did such.
"Um...it's going to sound awkward, especially after everything that had happened tonight..." Pinky started off saying, before finally cutting to the chase. "...Did you ever actually thought about dating?"
"Well...I won't lie to you, Pinky..." Tim started off saying, as he began to blush once again. "Despite how many times I denied it to Chaz...I do kind of hope that me and you would end up dating somewhere down the road. It's odd of me to even say that, but..."
"I totally get it. I've been thinking about dating you too." Pinky then blushes, before leaning closer towards Tim to kiss him on the cheek.
"Wow! That was..." Tim nearly shouts in excitement, causing Pinky to laugh to herself. The blue-haired man calmed down a bit, before blushing once again. "So...does that mean that me and you are together now? Does this mean that we're boyfriend and girlfriend?"
Pinky nodded her head as a smile formed on her face and her blush disappeared. "I guess that means we are." The girl's eyes peered to the right for a second, before she stared forward at Tim once again. "Um...hey, you know what? I just remembered something."
"What?"
"This coming Friday, there's a carnival that's going to be off near the outskirts of the town. Are you wanting to go to it?" She chuckled a bit. "It could be a good enough place for our first date together."
"I thought a storm was coming to Simport Friday."
"Well, the storm's only going to be at night. The carnival's only going to be from morning to somewhere in the afternoon."
"That sounds like an awesome idea. I'd love that, Pinky."
"Great." She then slowly turned her head towards the TV remote that was still just laying there on the coffee table. "So...um...want to continue watching the movie together?"
Tim simply nodded his head to that question. Pinky then unpauses the movie, then places the TV remote back down onto the coffee table afterwards. They scooted closer together, with Pinky leaning closer to Tim while he wraps an arm around her shoulder. They smiled at each other for a second, before they both faces forward to continue watching the movie together.
