About a couple minutes of driving later...

Chaz arrived at Pinky's house so that he can pick up his best friend. He wanted to just go home and just call it a night, but he couldn't just end the day without telling Tim what had happened. Also, he doubts that Tim would appreciate it if he just decided to go home and left him to walk his own way back to his house by his lonesome. So, he decided to pick Tim up so that they can go back to his house together. Once Tim was picked up, Chaz began to drive his way back to his house.

Along the way, the two began talking about how both of their nights have been. Tim had told his best friend everything that had happened between him and Pinky, from making dinner with her, to Preston's sudden visit, to Pinky standing up for him when the prep started to insult him. He had even mentioned that he and Pinky have decided to become a couple after a wonderful night like the one that they had. Hearing this caused Chaz to become very proud of his best friend. Despite all the teasing he gave his best friend earlier this morning about the hangout, he was still happy that his own best friend isn't single anymore. He always had a feeling that those two would've ended up together after tonight.

Chaz then decided to tell Tim about how his night went. Unfortunately, as his blue-haired friend was expecting that his best friend's night would've ended with him getting a new girlfriend, he was surprised to discover that he actually didn't. He wasn't even expecting to hear that Crystal willingly decided to stop by Club Candy, considering everything that had happened earlier this morning. But what really surprised Tim the most out of everything that his best friend had told him was what ended up happening right before Chaz decided to leave the club. Still surprised, he decided to ask him about it.

"Wait...so, Crystal asked you out, and you rejected her?" Tim asked his best friend, as they were both sitting in the car while it's parked in the driveway outside of Chaz's house. "Why?! She's literately everything that you want in a girl, and she's one of our closest friends! Why would you turn her down?!"

"Look, I know, but...while she was away, me and Sapphire talked it out a bit, and...well, she made me realize that...me and Crystal just weren't meant to be together." Chaz explained to his blue-haired best friend.

"So now what?"

"Well...that's the problem..." Chaz takes a bit of a pause as he leaned back in his seat, all while Tim stared at him with a look of confusion. "So, while me and Sapphire were talking, I kind of...expressed my feelings towards...a different girl, and when I tell you, you're totally going to disagree with me heavily."

"Let me guess...is it BeeBee? She's already got a boyfriend."

"No, it's not her. Don't be ridiculous, dude."

Tim was now getting a bit confused. "Alright then. Who is it then?"

Taking a sigh, Chaz faces forward at the stirring wheel in front of him, finally answering his best friend's question. "It's Katie."

"Katie?!" Tim shouts in surprise. "I thought you said you weren't in love with her!"

"Actually, I have been for awhile now...I was just in denial about it..." Chaz then leans back in his seat as he turned his head towards Tim. "It wasn't until me and Sapphire talked that I finally expressed my true feelings for her."

"Well, that's fine, but...what about her father? The moment that you attempt to ask Katie out, her father's going to still be an issue."

"Sapphire and I talked about that too, and...as much of a stupid idea this may be, she suggested that I go to their house and talk to her father."

"Talk to her father?" Tim then shook his head, still seeing this as a horrible idea. "Chaz, I'm still not so sure about all of this. I don't think Dr. Morris is going to accept you being friends with his daughter, let alone date her."

"I'll handle it, alright? I'll talk to Katie about it, and we'll see what happens."

"Do you think she'd think that this is a good idea too?"

"I'll see what she has to say." Chaz then turns off his car, before looking at his best friend one more time. "I'll meet you inside my house. I'm gonna give Katie a call."

"Alright." Tim got out of his best friend's car, then headed his way over to the front door of the house to go inside.

Chaz picked up his phone from the cup-holder next to him, then got out of his car soon after. Right as he was about to give Katie a call, he was taken by surprise when he glanced down at his phone to see that he had just received a call. Not only that, but the caller in question was actually the dentist herself. He wondered why she was actually him first and not the other way around. Regardless, Chaz answers the call to see what was going on.

"Hey, Katie." Chaz said as he leaned onto the side of his car. "What's going on?"

"You mind telling me what the hell is wrong with you?!" Katie asked in an angry tone, much to Chaz's surprise. "Crystal called me seconds ago and she told me that you broke her heart! What the hell have you done?!"

"She told you that?!"

"I just told you she did, moron!"

"Shit!" Chaz mutters. He should've known that Crystal would've ended up informing her best friend about him rejecting her, and to think that Katie being angry with him about teasing Tim earlier was bad enough. "Okay look, it's complicated, alright? I was giving it some thought, and...then I talked with Sapphire about it...and after we talked, I just...felt like me and Crystal weren't meant to be..." He took a bit of a pause to look off into the distance with a sigh. "Also, during our conversation, Sapphire made me realize who I truly am in love with."

"Who is it then? If it's not Crystal, who are you really in love with?"

"It's funny that you should be the one asking this question, Katie..." Chaz took a pause, rubbing the back of his neck for a second before finally confessing to the tomboy his feelings for her. "...It's you."

"W-What?"

"Look, I know it sounds crazy of me to say, but it's true. I actually do have feelings for you, Katie." Chaz stood up from the side of his car, then began pacing the driveway while continuing to explain his feelings more thoroughly. "Now, I'll admit, back when we first met outside those apartments, when we crashed into each other...I thought you were just another chump that I could care less about, especially during the first time I visited your house...but as the week went on, things changed. The more we hung out together, the more I enjoyed you being around me. Despite our differences, you were willing to console me after Summer dumped me, and you've sided with my best friend when he needed somebody the most..." The biker then stopped pacing around, suddenly remembering that part of the morning. "Shit...I am so stupid...I forgot that one of the reasons why I was gonna call you was to apologize about that."

"It's fine, Chaz." Katie reassured him. "Besides, I overheard you and Tim talking things out with each other while I was in the living room earlier today. So we're good on that now."

"Thanks, Katie." Chaz smiled for a second, before he began pacing around once again, continuing to express his feelings for the tomboyish dentist. "Anyways...I think what I'm trying to say here is that out of all the girls who I've met, I don't think I have ever actually felt happy around apart from you. I mean...you're nice, you're smart, you're cool, you're beautiful, you're...well, cute from when you're angry..."

"What the hell? No, I'm not. I'm not cute when I'm mad..." The tomboy muttered. "Shut up, dude..."

"What I'm trying to say is that...you're awesome, and I'm very grateful that I've met you. We might've had a bit of a rocky start, but in the end, it was worth it...and I wouldn't mind it if you and I actually started dating." Chaz then sighed, before smiling. "So...what do you think, Katie? Do you want to go out together?"

It was at this moment that there was nothing but silence after that question was asked. About two or three minutes ended up passing and Katie ended up saying nothing. At first, Chaz assumed that she just hung up on him, however...when he checked, he saw that she was still on the line. It wasn't until he heard her let out a stressed out sigh that she finally said something to him.

"I don't know about this, dude..." She simply said. "Don't get me wrong, I like you too...but...I don't exactly know if I like you enough to the point where I want to date you. You get what I mean?"

Chaz's hopeful smile became a depressed frown after he heard that said. "I-I know what you mean..." He said, a little disappointed that he was now being turned down. "Um...I...think I'm just going to leave you be now. Thanks for...at least, hearing me out on my feelings."

"No problem." The tomboy then sighed. "I'll see you later, okay?"

"Okay." Once that was said and done, the phone call came to an end. Afterwards, Chaz just stared at his phone for a second with a depressed look on his face, before finally deciding to enter his house to call it a night.

Meanwhile...

At Katie's house...

After the phone call had ended, Katie just laid there on her bed and tried to get some sleep. However, as she was trying to, she somehow found herself unable to fall asleep. All she did for the past hour was just tossed and turned trying her best to drift off to sleep, but found herself too impatient to do so. It seemed like every attempt she did, she found herself still awake.

Katie honestly didn't know why this was even the case. Normally, she'd fall asleep quite easily after a few minutes. She thought that she wasn't too tired because of the nap that she accidentally took outside in Chaz's backyard earlier today, but she felt like that wasn't even the case with her. Speaking of Chaz...she could only assume that she wasn't able to sleep because of her current thoughts after her conversation with him moments ago.

Even after an hour after their talk, she couldn't stop thinking about what Chaz has told her. She couldn't stop thinking about the fact that he had feelings...for her of all people. Granted, there was a lot of things that they had in common, and that they were beginning to become a lot more closer lately...but despite all of that, she didn't end up developing feelings back for him. Not to mention, she knew her father and Crystal would never approve of the idea of them dating. The former for obvious reasons, but she knew with all of the times that she was told about her feelings for him, she knew Crystal wasn't going to be happy with her for dating her crush. All in all...everything just seemed like a stressful situation all around.

'Me and Chaz? Together?' Katie thought to herself as she just stared up at the ceiling above. 'I mean...he's nice and all...and that he's pretty cool...and I'll admit, he is totally awesome...' The tomboy just smirks for a second, before frowning once again. 'But...I don't know. I was never in love with him before...nor do I right now.'

Letting out an annoyed sigh, Katie turns to lay on her side. When she did, she stared straight ahead at her desk, seeing a picture frame that standing there next to her laptop. Sitting up, she picks up the picture so that she can take a better look at it, and when she did, she just silently stared at it with a look of despair.

The picture was nothing more but a family portrait. It was one that Katie and parents have took at the city park...back when she was only seven years old. The younger Katie was hugging her father while they were sitting together on a picnic blanket, while a woman was sitting next to them holding the camera that was used to take this picture. The woman in question has dark brown hair near similar to Katie's hair, and was wearing a black blouse and dark blue jeans. It was quite obvious that this woman is actually Katie's mother.

'You know...I remember clearly that the very start of ninth grade, you told me that trying to get a boyfriend can be a total pain in the ass. If this is what you're talking about...then damn...you were right, mom.' Katie said in her thoughts once again. 'Honestly, if you were here, you'd probably know what to do in a situation like this one...if I were to ask you about it anyway...' The tomboy then lets out a depressed sigh, before placing the picture frame back on the desk beside her. 'Oh, I miss you, mom...you always knew what to say to make a problem seem less major.' She chuckled to herself, before laying back down onto her bed.

Throughout the next few minutes, Katie just continued to stared upward at the ceiling above, trying her best to get some sleep. Eventually, the tomboy finally ended up drifting off to sleep a couple moments later. All that she could hope for was that the next day is a lot more better than this one.
