The next day...
It was finally Friday, and for Victoria, this was a day that she's been waiting for. She still remembered a few days back when she indirectly found herself at Goth Boy's house that Ray had mentioned that they were going to hang out somewhere today, just the two of them. She wasn't sure what he has planned for them to do today, the only thing that she actually got when she asked him was to just meet him down at the Main Street area of the town...and that's about it. She just hopes that whatever Ray chose for them to do is gonna be fun and not boring.
The moment she woke up, Victoria immediately got up from her bed and went off to do her usual morning routine. After getting dressed and brushing her hair, the girl went downstairs to meet up with the rest of her family. Her step-mother was cooking breakfast for them, while her father was sitting at the dining room table reading a book to himself, and James was waiting for his own breakfast to get finished. Thankfully for Victoria, her step-brother interfering with her hangout with Ray wasn't going to be an issue, as she knew today that he was going to be working all day until the start of the evening. So, it's doubtful that there's gonna be a moment where she will stumble upon him throughout the day, aside from right now.
With a smile on her face, Victoria happily walked into the dining room and collected herself a plate from one of the cabinets. She collected some pancakes from her step-mother, then headed over to the dining room table to sit with her father. James, on the other hand, couldn't help but notice that she was a lot more happier than usual. Normally, the drama girl would be berating him or glaring at him the moment she enters the dining room. He wondered why that was the case.
"Good morning, Victoria." James said to his step-sister. "Somebody's in a good mood this morning. What's got you so happy?"
"Oh, Louiston, if thou really must know, I am most excited about the present day in general." Victoria told him, her smile not disappearing from her face as she explain this to him. "Me and a close companion of mine art be going somewhere among the town to spend time together."
It was at this point, James started to get a little skeptical of what she means by that...especially when it comes to her mentioning a companion. "Let me guess...is it Ray?"
Victoria's smile immediately disappeared from her face after her step-brother asked that to her. "No, I say...it be not dearest Ray. Unfortunately, he is much too busy for us to be spending time with one another today." She lied. "It is with a different person who used to be apart of the drama club with me."
"Really?"
"Yes." The girl just continued to eat, before turning her head to stare at her step-brother once again. "Now, if thy won't mind, I must eat and prepare myself to meet with him now. Dost thou hath to be at work in a few minutes anyhow?"
"Shit...hate it when you're right." He then sighed, before picking up his work-jacket from the counter behind him, placing it onto himself once he picked it up. "Well, if it isn't actually Ray you're hanging out with, sorry I said anything. Have fun with whoever you're hanging out with."
"Why thank you, James. That's rather kind of you to say."
Victoria just sat there and watched as her step-brother began to head his way out the door to meet up with his co-worker outside the house, since he was picking him up to go to work together today. Once she saw that he had finally left, she sighed to herself before continuing to eat her breakfast. Her father, who was watching the two's conversation together, couldn't help but notice that Ray was brought into the conversation once again. He also couldn't help but notice that James was rather skeptical of his step-sister throughout their short conversation together. Placing his book aside, he decided to say something about it to his daughter.
"Victoria, my sweet angel..." Trevor said, causing his daughter to look up at her father. "My apologies for asking, but I take it that the boy thy will be hanging out with is actually Ray, is he not?"
Placing her fork onto the side of his plate, Victoria sighed. "As a matter of fact, yes father." She said truthfully. "I know this tongue mustn't lie, but I must. If I told him I am spending time with dearest Ray today, he wouldst be entirely against it."
"So...the best thing for you to do is lie to him?" James's mother asked, raising an eyebrow at her step-daughter.
"Emily, thou witnessed the argument me and the buffoon had a few days ago. Something as silly and petty as that was something I rather not have happen again."
"Right...I remember..." She then glared at the drama girl again. "Still remember, one of these days, me and Trevor are going to be having the two of you spend time together in hopes that you get over your differences."
"Your step-mother is right, dearest Victoria." Trevor said, mutually agreeing with his wife.
Victoria just sighed, remembering that little punishment that her father and step-mother had agreed on. It was no use trying to argue against them on this, so she just decided to simply nod her head to what they had told her. Afterwards, she finished up her food and stood up from the table, handing her plate over to her step-mother.
"Thank you for breakfast, Emily, as per usual." Victoria said, before beginning to make her way over to the front door. "I wouldst enjoy the idea of talking some more, however, I must be off. I shalt meet the two of thee later on in the night!"
"Oh, Victoria! You might want to come back during the..." Emily tried to warn Victoria there was going to be a storm tonight, but unfortunately, she was too late to end up telling her about it. The drama girl went out the door rather quickly, leaving the two parents alone in the house together. "Oh, Trevor...what are we going to do about those two? Ever since we gotten married, those two have been at each other's throats more and more."
"Have faith, fair Emily." Trevor reassured his wife. "Still remember, those two are going to have a day where they are gonna spend time together. Hopefully, they will try to put their rivalry behind them once that day comes."
"I certainly hope so." She then smiled, before shrugging a shoulder. "At least for what it's worth, they didn't start arguing immediately this morning."
"I couldst not agree with thee more, fair Emily." The two chuckled to themselves, before collecting their own breakfast so that they can now eat to themselves.
It took a bit of a walk to get to Main Street, but Victoria managed to get there without a problem. Not a lot of traffic filled the roads around the neighborhood or town today, especially around the street that Ray told her to meet her at. She couldn't help but find this rather odd though, considering that the streets had a lot more traffic during the mornings. She wondered where everyone is right now.
Once she got to Main Street, Victoria proceeded to look around to try to find Ray. So far, she didn't see him anywhere yet. She was approaching the street from the right, which was where the construction site was located at, and Ray was nowhere to be seen...not yet anyway. She glanced down the area where the monorail station was at, but the only people over there were Luis and Rhonda as per usual...still no sign of Ray. She was about to investigate the park, only to see Ray was sitting at the bench at the corner of the street where the town hall was at. The moment she saw him, Victoria waved at the goth and then made her way over to him.
"Ray! I'm here!" Victoria shouts, running up to the bench where her friend was at.
Ray looks up from his Smartphone, seeing the British woman running up to him. He stood up from the bench, smiling at her as she approached him. "Oh, there you are. I was wondering where you were." He said. "Are you ready to have some fun today?"
"Why yes...but...what exactly are we going to be doing? I don't believe that you have ever told me when we were texting each other earlier."
"I'm glad you asked." He turns completely around, looking off to the distance.
Victoria was still a bit confused with what Ray has planned for them to do today, but after about a few minutes of walking, she began to see where the goth was taking her. Staring up at the sky above, she could see the sight of a Ferris wheel out in the distance. It seems like he had planned for the both of them to go to the carnival that the town was having today. She knew one was happening, but she wasn't really planning on actually going to it. However, since Ray's interested in going, then Victoria's completely willing to go with him to it.
"The carnival?" Victoria asked while rubbing her chin. "Well, I must say that this is certainly quite the surprise."
"Eh, I just thought that it would be nice to go there, you know?" Ray asked her. "When I first heard there was a carnival in town, it reminded me of one day...about a week before all of us graduated...me, Raven, and Violet had all decided to go to the carnival to celebrate the fact that we're all all going to be done with high school together. The others didn't come along with us because...well, all of them refused." He then frowned a bit, just as they were approaching the entrance to the small fairground together. "Aside from Goth Boy and Yuki, I was wanting to invite you to it too, but...you were busy with preparations for your father's wedding that year, I was too focused on my relationship and future with Raven, me trying to figure out if I'm wanting to go off to college or not...it was an all around emotional and stressful day for me and Raven." He then smiled, right as they approached the entrance to the fairground. "But...hey, when I heard that there was going to be a carnival happening here, I was instantly reminded of that time, and...I just thought I'd bring you here so that we can make up for lost times, you know? I tried to ask Raven to come here the day you came to Goth Boy's house, but...she told me she was gonna be busy helping Violet with chores at her house, so...I thought that this would be a good way for us to hang out together."
"Well, I certainly hope that this will be fun, indeed." Victoria then held out an arm towards the front gate of the fairground. "Shalt we enter to enjoy this glorious day for all that it's worth?"
"Yeah, totally."
"Splendid." After their conversation ended there, Ray and Victoria headed over to one of the two ticket booths so that they can finally enter the carnival.
Once they were both inside, the two began to walk through the rather large area in order to figure out what they wanted to do here first. There were plenty of rides and games for them to play around here for them to do, and yet neither one of them could decide what to here first, especially Victoria. She genuinely thought that the carnival would've been at least smaller than it was from afar, but finally after being in here, it was a lot more bigger than she expected. She didn't know how exactly big this entire fair even was.
"I must confess to thee that it hast been awhile since I last stepped foot in any sort of fairground." Victoria said as they were walking among the crowd of people. "What shalt we be doing first, Ray?"
"Well...I'm not too sure." Ray told her. "Usually, when it comes to me and Raven being here, the first thing we'd normally do is start with is the roller-coaster. But, since she's not here, I don't mind doing something completely different for a change."
After that was said, Ray looks off at one of the many games that were around here, stopping in his tracks afterwards. Victoria stopped once she noticed that the goth had stopped walking. She then glanced over to where he was looking at, seeing the game that he was looking at, which was the Test-your-Strength machine.
"Oh blimey, Ray..." Victoria said through a chuckle. "Dost thou honestly about to try the 'Test-your-Strength' machine? But art thou certain that thy wants to attempt that one first?"
"I don't see why not." Ray told her as they began walking their way over to the machine. "For awhile now, Goth Boy's been inviting me to the gym he goes to DownTown, so...I guess I'll give it a try."
"Very well, then onward." The two then headed over to where the tall machine was located at.
Once they got over to it, Ray went up to the vendor that was sitting in a chair next to the machine. "Think I can have a go at this?"
"Sure...whatever..." The teenage vendor said in an uncaring tone of voice, not taking his eyes away from the phone he was using.
Ray takes off his own jacket, before handing it over to Victoria so that he can pick up the mallet nearby. Once he has the large and heavily mallet, the goth just looked downward, glaring at the large button that was in front of him. Whenever he came here and tried the 'Test-your-Strength' machine, he would always end up failing to hit the bell at the very top. Sometimes, he couldn't even lift the hammer off of the ground at times. Hopefully, all of those trips to the gym he and Goth Boy took ends up paying off here.
With all of his strength, Ray lifts the mallet off of the ground and then slams it onto the button on the ground in front of him. Once it was pressed, the chaser flew straight up at the bell up above, causing a loud ring to be heard. The vendor looked at the goth with surprise, then stood up from his chair with a smile on his face.
"Way to go, man." The vendor said as he walked over to a small shelf of stuffed animals nearby.
Ray just stared at the shelf for a few seconds, wondering which stuffed animal to get off of it. He was hoping that there were other things there apart from stuffed animals, but from the looks of it, there doesn't seem to be anything else on the shelf there. He just continued to stare for a few more minutes, until he finally found something that stood out among the rest of the items there.
It was a small pink stuffed-animal bear. Normally, when it's something like this, especially if it's something pink, Ray would completely ignore it for something different. However, this time, he felt like getting the stuffed-animal was actually a good idea, considering how much stuff Victoria has that was pink. He didn't see why giving her another pink item would hurt. The goth smiled as he pointed at the stuffed-animal that was there.
"I'll take that one." Ray said, pointing at the pink bear that was at the very top of the shelf.
The vendor raises an eyebrow, before looking at Ray with confusion. "That one?" He asked, only getting a nod from the goth. "Alright. If you say so." The vendor reaches up onto the top of the shelf, grabbing the pink bear. "Here you go then, sir."
"Thanks." Ray stared at the stuffed animal in his hand, before turning towards Victoria so that he can hand it over to her. "...Also...I believe that this is for you."
Victoria became surprised hearing this. "Oh...my..." She said, as a blush appeared on her face. "Ray, dear boy, you shouldn't have."
"Hey...I needed to give you something as a token of our friendship." Ray said through chuckles, while putting his jacket back on himself. "It might not be something like a friendship bracelet, but...hey, it's a gift to show how much I cherish us as friends, you know?"
"Well..." Victoria still blushed while staring at the stuffed animal Ray had given her, before looking up and nodding her head at him. "...I must say, I certainly appreciate this as a gift, dear. It is my favorite color too. Quite wonderful."
"Alright." Ray looked around the area for a bit, before looking at Victoria again. "Shall we find something else to do now?"
"Why, of course." The two then walked off to another part of the carnival to find another thing fun to do together.
