Later that night...
With Sapphire...
It was already time for her to go out on her date with Candy to the movie theater. It was also the night when her plan to get James and Jenny together finally happens at the exact same time. So far, things have been working out pretty well for the party girl when it comes to getting the two nerds together. Granted, the only downside was keeping James in the dark about what she has planned, but she knew in the end, all of this was going to be worth it. Now all she needed to do was go to the theater to make sure everything turns out right.
Right now, Sapphire was sitting outside on her porch waiting for her girlfriend to arrive so that they can finally go out on their date. After she had ate breakfast at her girlfriend's house earlier this morning, Candy got a phone call from her uncle telling her that he needed help with something at his house, which unfortunately meant that they weren't able to hang out the entire day. So, Sapphire had to head back home after that. For the most part, she just remained at her house and spent most of the day either on her laptop or looking at texts on her phone. She did this for a majority of the day until it was eventually time to go on her date.
During her wait, Sapphire took a couple glances at her phone to check the time, wondering where her girlfriend is right now. She didn't know where Candy was or what she was doing, but she considering that she was later than she was hoping, she hoped that the blonde tomboy didn't forget their date tonight. Then again...Candy never forgets any of their dates whenever they plan any. Eventually though, Candy did finally arrive at the party girl's house.
"Hey Saph! I'm here!" Candy shouts as she came walking out from behind the fence on the left side of her front yard.
Sapphire turned her head towards the street, seeing her girlfriend making her way up to her porch. "Candy, sweetie, there you are!" She said as she stood up to walk over to her. "I was wondering where you've been all night."
"Well, my uncle does live a lot more farther from my house than yours. Also, the bus took off before I was able to get on it." Candy then places her hands in her pockets with a smile appearing on her face. "But, hey, let's be glad that I was able to get here before the night was over."
"Like, I couldn't agree more with you on that one." The brown-haired partier looks behind her girlfriend, seeing a bus driving up to the nearest bus stop nearby. "There's the bus now. We should probably get on it before it takes off without us."
"Good idea."
Without another second to waste, both girls immediately ran over to the bus stop before the bus took off without them. Once they got on board, the two went over to one of the benches facing away from the windows, then sat down. Once they were seated, the bus closed its doors and began to head off to the DownTown area.
"So...about our date tonight...which movie are we seeing together?" Candy asked her girlfriend. "I don't we ever talked about it when you were talking about your plans to get James and Jenny together."
"Well, I've been to the movie theater whenever it's 'Couple's Night' a few times, so...what do you think about 'Pretty in Pink'?" Sapphire asked with a smile.
Candy groans in disgust. "You know I hate that movie, babe. We've seen that way too many times already."
"Okay...nevermind then." Sapphire then leans forward onto her own knees to think for a second, before sitting back up to suggest something else instead. "Why don't we just watch 'Notting Hill' instead?"
"It's been since we've seen that movie together." The blonde tomboy said while nodding her head with a smile. "Totally, dude."
"Great." Sapphire then leans towards her girlfriend again, kissing her on the cheek.
"Oh...thanks." Candy kissed her girlfriend back, before sitting back down on her seat again. "Hey, speaking of James...have you spoke with him at all today? With you keeping silent about what you have planned for him, I don't think he's gonna be taking things too well."
"You know if I tell him, things are going to go horribly wrong for him, and especially Jenny." Sapphire then faces forward with a confident smile forming on her face. "Besides, I'm sure that he's on his way to the movie theaters right now."
Meanwhile...
With how the entire day has been for him, James was starting to have second thoughts about meeting up with his secret admirer. He's been stressed out throughout the majority of the day, and he only felt like meeting with this person would only make things worse for him. The fact that he had to discover that his best friend had cheated on his girlfriend today only made things worse for him. He was starting to think that meeting up with his secret admirer wasn't even worth it at this point.
At the moment, James was at some random diner in the DownTown area having dinner by himself. He was planning on eating with his family tonight, but with everything that he had discovered earlier, Victoria was the last person that he wanted to see right now. So, he chose to eat somewhere else by his lonesome. The only sad part for him is that the diner he picked...he was the only customer in there tonight, with the only people that he can talk to being the workers...and even they won't talk to him at all. So in hindsight, he was truly by himself at this point.
James just sat there at one of the booth tables, eating a meal consisting of a hamburger, some fries, and a soda. The geeky goth could hear the song 'I Guess That's Why They Call it the Blues' by Elton John playing on the diner's radio close by. Despite the fact that he really didn't like this song, he definitely felt like this song was just describing his entire mood right now. Listening to this was a lot better than listening to any sort of happy song anyhow.
As the goth sat there feeling completely stressed and defeated, one of his friends walked passed the window he was sitting near, noticing him in the process. They walked into the building, then headed over to the booth table that James was sitting at. Once they were seated, the geeky goth looked up from his food to see who was sitting down across from him, only to see that it was Ghostly.
"Hey James, I wasn't expecting to see you here tonight." The blue-haired goth told him. "What are you doing here? I thought you'd be at the movie theater right now."
"Oh...I just couldn't go." James muttered, before taking a sip of his drink.
"Why not?"
"What the hell do you think, Ghostly? Today has got to be one of the worst days of my entire life." The geeky goth then held an arm out towards the window to his right. "If you haven't noticed recently, Jenny still thinks that Rob is her secret admirer, and I figured out that my own best friend cheated on his girlfriend...with my own bitch of a step-sister! I think that is enough shit to cause me so much stress to the point where...I just really don't want to face whoever the secret admirer i have is!" James took a pause for a second to calm himself down once again, taking a few breaths before proceeding to talk some more, but a little more calmly this time. "Now that I think about it...the entire week itself has been nothing but hell for me. Damn it...all of this wouldn't be happening right now if I haven't forgotten to put my name down on that letter I placed in Jenny's mailbox."
"I'm guessing Sapphire still hasn't said anything to you, huh?" James shook his head, as Ghostly sighed. "Look, I know that I've just met you recently, James...but if you're not getting anything from Sapphire, I might as well be the one to tell you what you should do to try to make everything better..."
"Really? You? Of all people...you know how to solve my problems?" The geeky goth asked sarcastically, only getting a nod from the blue-haired man. "Yeah right! What do you have to say to make my life better?!"
"Look...I'm only saying something in regards to this whole 'Secret Admirer' situation you got yourself into. If you got yourself into this situation, fix your mistake then." James raises an eyebrow at the blue-haired goth sitting across from him, who just continued to tell him what he should be doing to turn everything around. "Just go to your secret admirer and tell them all about the situation that happened, then find Jenny and tell her the truth. Since you seem to be very close friends with her...yeah, things might be a little awkward, but...I'm telling you, things will probably work out in the end for you." He then frowns, now talking about everything that they discovered this morning. "As for what happened between Ray and your step-sister...I don't have a say on that. Violet and Raven definitely don't want anything to do with him anymore, or do they ever want to see your step-sister. If you don't want to be friends with him...that's your decision." Ghostly then gave the goth a reassuring smile, before reaching out to pat him on the shoulder. "Just take my advice into account, okay? I'm sure once you get this misunderstanding settled, things might work out between you and Jenny."
James remained silent after Ghostly finished telling him his advice. He still felt hesitant to even go, believing that things are only going to get worse for him if he actually does. Luck was usually never on the geeky goth's side on...literately anything. He just hopes that the blue-haired man was right, and that he's not wasting his time with actually going and doing this.
"I don't know if you're right...but I'll take your advice." James muttered, still clearly sounding hesitant about all of this. "Whatever happens after tonight, I'll come find you and Violet to tell you guys if me and Jenny are together or not."
"Alright." Ghostly said while nodding his head. "Good luck out there, James."
"Yeah...thank you..." James headed over to the door, letting out a sigh of disbelief. Right before he could leave, he turned towards where Ghostly was one last time. "Hey, before I go...if you happen to come across Raven tonight, whether she's hanging out with Violet or one of the other goths...can you tell her that I'm sorry for everything that happened between her and Ray this morning, and tell her that I'm on her side in this situation? I wanted to comfort her after our time at the coffee shop, but...she ran off before I had the chance to say anything."
"I'm sure I will. She should still be hanging out with Violet right now, so...I'll talk to her when I see her again."
"Thanks Ghostly. You're a real pal, you know that?"
"Thanks, James." After that, the geeky goth headed off to the movie theater, while Ghostly exited the diner soon after to continue making his way to his girlfriends house.
