Chapter Nine: The Howling Past
Donna POV
Donna growled, clutching her left upper arm, which was already in a cast, as she sat on the medical bed. "I can't believe you did that! You broke my fucking arm, man!"
Morgan did legitimately look apologetic, at least. "I'm sorry, Donna! My body reacted on its own. My brain pretty much just shut down and my body reacted to you coming at me with an attack. I really didn't mean to do this." he said.
Donna huffed. "Yeah, well I'm still grumpy. I'm gonna be out of commission for three weeks, Morgan, three weeks! I can't use my trident with only one arm and the nurse won't even let me train at all. Three fucking weeks of me just sitting on my ass!" she griped.
Morgan's ears drooped. "Three weeks?! What am I supposed to do for training for three weeks?! You're the only one in that class who can actually compete with me!"
Lilo piped up. "If I remember correctly, Professor Goodwitch said that an older student had volunteered to help with the first year class. A second year, I think? You could spar with them, you know."
Donna grumbled. "I honestly don't care what you do. What I want to know is what the fuck even was that power you used against me?!"
Morgan shrugged. "I'm not really sure. I called it Serenity Mode because I don't really feel any emotions when I'm in that state. I only just unlocked it today, though. As far as I can tell, it's a good one and a half times stronger than Berserker, doesn't have any stamina drain but does take a lot of Aura to actually go into it. It also lets me fight without having to think about my next action. I see my opponent, they attack and my body reacts. That's how I understand it, anyway. Like I said, I only just reached it so I'm going to have to train with it to work some of the kinks out." he explained.
Donna scowled. "Oh, you've got to be fucking kidding me. This new mode basically fights for you, is that the gist of it?"
Morgan nods.
Donna's hair and eyes lightened a shade. "Oh, that's some bullshit! Tell me you've at least gained some control over Berserker Mode, huh?!"
He nodded. "Yeah. as far as I know, I have near complete control." he said. He powered up with a low shout. His eyes shifted red and yellow flames burst out of his hands and hair. He had a calm and neutral expression. "See? Completely controlled. Though, if someone really pisses me off, I probably would still lose control." he continued as he powered down.
Lightning sparked around Donna's fists for a moment before her hair and eyes went back to normal. "This fucking gap… How am I supposed to compete with you absorbing energy from attacks and having a power mode that fights for you?!" she growled.
Robin scoffed. "Why are you supposed to compete with him in the first place? Aren't you friends now? I don't get it."
Donna rolled her eyes. "We're rivals as well, Robin, it's a matter of pride! You can't be a rival to someone if your power can't even compete with the other guy's. Speaking of which, I'll find a way to get stronger than this 'Serenity Mode' thing, you know that, right?!"
Morgan chuckled. "Sure, Donna. What about the situation with Blanc, though? I've proven myself capable of controlling Berserker Mode and even unlocked a new level."
Donna deflated somewhat. "Ugh. I… know some people. My family's hired some mercs in the past for some things and they're really good trackers. I'll give them the information you've told us and well… we'll see what happens, okay? If they find her, they'll forward the info to me, I'll tell you and Goodwitch. Deal?"
Morgan nodded, a determined smile on his face. "Alright! I'll make sure to train harder than ever! Oh, I can't wait to fight her!"
The teammates just talked about things of little consequence for the rest of the evening until it was time to go back to the dorm and Donna was cleared to leave the infirmary.
Morgan POV
*A few days later*
Friday afternoon, Morgan, Robin and Lilo were walking back to their dorm after classes to meet back up with Donna, who had a free study period now that she was unable to participate in Combat Class.
They were laughing about something that had happened in Goodwitch's class.
"Oh, I can't believe you did that, Morgan!" Lilo howled with laughter.
Morgan snorted and shrugged. "Eh, so what? The guy was going on and on about how he was so far above us just cause he was a second year that I thought it'd be fine if I let loose a little bit. Ain't my fault he couldn't handle a little Berserker."
Robin also laughed loudly. "Yeah, but you didn't have to completely humiliate him! I haven't seen a beatdown that one-sided… Well, ever! I mean, he could barely walk after Professor Goodwitch made sure he wasn't dead!"
Lilo was still in the middle of his laughing fit. "Yeah, it was hilarious! Holy shit, the guy looked so damn embarrassed, too!"
Morgan shrugged again. "Yeah, well, the guy said he was tough. I wanted to see how much he could take. Gonna be honest, not impressed after his bluster. Guy was fuckin' shit! He was slow, almost no power behind his strikes and his form was so sloppy! Couldn't put up a defense to save his life." he chuckled.
Lilo snorted and rolled his eyes. "Like you're one to talk about sloppy form! Most of your sequences are just pure brute strength! Your fighting style is more like just basic boxing with hand to hand and just swinging your sword around!"
Morgan roared with laughter. "Just because I don't use it in most of my sequences doesn't mean I don't have a solid basis in martial arts, you know. I happen to be a really good martial artist, I just don't usually need to use it. Besides, did you not see me a few days ago? I was holding my own against all three of you."
Robin sniggered. "He's got you there, Lilo!"
The duelist scoffed and rolled his eyes. "Whatever."
The three walked for a bit more until Morgan suddenly froze, the color draining from his face. He'd sensed a presence he hadn't felt in years. "Oh, no…" he whispered.
Robin and Lilo stopped and turned around. "What is it, Morgan? You look like you've seen a ghost!" Robin said.
A very familiar voice rang out behind him. "It took me a while to find you. Morgan."
Morgan slowly turned around and saw a man about four years older than him and about three inches taller. He was just as pale as Morgan, with pale blond hair and ice blue eyes. He wore a pale yellow double breasted suit coat with six silver buttons, a dark gold collared shirt with a blue tie, dark blue leather boots and a black polyester belt with a silver buckle, with shiny gold pauldrons. A pair of what looked like collapsed gauntlets hung from his belt. A yellow wolf's tail swished behind him.
"K-Ki?" Morgan exclaimed.
The man, Ki, growled. "Four fucking years I've been looking for your scrawny ass. Do you have any idea how much trouble you've fucking caused?!" he howled.
Robin and Lilo glanced at Morgan. "Morgan, who is this guy? What's he want with you?" Lilo asked, him and Robin moving to draw their weapons.
Morgan growled nervously. "Kiokami Fukurou. He… was one of my friends from Quarrus, my hometown."
Kiokami's eyes widened. "You mean you hadn't even told them about the family you abandoned back home?! You weren't the only one to lose his parents in that cave in!" he howled, clenching his fists.
"Family?! How close were you to this dude?!" Robin exclaimed.
Morgan growled and drew his sword and unfolded his shield.
Kiokami growled and narrowed his eyes. "You even abandoned the fighting style I taught you? Do you have no more respect for me?!"
"I didn't abandon it! But I needed weapons and these work really well. What are you even doing here, though?" he demanded.
Kiokami drew the gauntlets from his belt and fully deployed them. They were pale gold, with claw-like extensions covering his fingers and two shotgun barrels each above where the knuckles of his fists were. "I'm here to take you back to Atlas, where you belong. If I have to drag you back, I will." he growled.
Morgan narrowed his eyes. "You know why I left. I put everything in the note."
Kiokami howled with rage, a long and keening sound. "THAT FUCKING NOTE! How dare you?! You weren't the only one to lose people! I would have been there! Aoi would have been there! But you just left?! I will never accept that!"
The feline teen answered Kiokami's howl with a deep and rumbling roar. "Unlike you and Aoi, I hated it in Atlas! I never fit in there! The only two people keeping me there were Mom and Dad! Once they died, I couldn't stomach staying there anymore!"
"You left that same day! Their bodies weren't even cold! You just fucking left! Do you have any idea what that did to me?! To Aoi?! I will never forgive you and I will not stop until I bring you back to Atlas and fix what you broke!" Kiokami bellowed, tears streaming down his cheeks and teeth bared in a growling grimace.
Morgan bared his own teeth in a feral snarl and launched himself at Kiokami, aiming a flurry of slashes and thrusts at him.
Kiokami quickly pressed the offensive, howling with rage and anguish. Morgan did what he could to block Kiokami's punches with his shield and strike back with his sword but the wolf Faunus had always been stronger than him and was the one who taught him to fight so Kiokami inherently had the advantage, knowing the fundamentals of his fighting style.
Every punch the larger Faunus landed on the smaller's shield produced a great thunderclap of sound as the concussive force of the gauntlet's shells boosted the power of the already dominatingly strong wolf Faunus's strikes.
Morgan ducked to dodge a particularly hefty blow and backflipped away to gain breathing room. He quickly unbuckled the straps on his armor to get the heavy and bulky set off of him and deposited the armor and shield near Robin and Lilo, who were watching with shock.
The Tiger blazed toward the Wolf, reengaging. With the speed boost, he was able to at least dodge most of the strikes and land a few of his own on Kiokami. However, the wolf man was still dominating the battle, slowly wearing Morgan out.
Morgan side rolled to dodge another punch and ran his index and middle fingers along the edge of his blade, causing it to glow red with his Aura. He aimed a slash at Kiokami, a blade of Aura flying through the air. An Aura Arc.
He'd seen Professor Branwen use the technique once and tried to learn it. His attempt was still shaky but he'd mastered the basics of it.
However, Kiokami caught the Arc with one of his gauntlets, reinforced with a defensive gathering of Aura. But Morgan grinned as it exploded in Kiokami's face. You see, he still couldn't get it to not explode after a bit.
An Aura Arc is supposed to just slice through things but Morgan's just keep exploding. Though, this was a good thing this time.
Kiokami waved the dust cloud away from his face with an expression of pure rage. He rocketed toward Morgan so quickly that he couldn't even follow and grabbed him by the throat. The wolf Faunus then slammed Morgan into the ground, cracking the tiles of the courtyard.
He then punched the tiger Faunus full force in the gut, causing Morgan to scream in agony. Kiokami squeezed Morgan's throat, stifling the scream into a grunt. He punched him a second time. A third. A fourth time.
Morgan scratched and clawed around at the hand around his throat, unable to breath or process anything. He kicked the air, trying to get the larger Faunus off of him, but it was closer to just flailing wildly, not even coming close to hitting.
All the while, Kiokami kept punching him in the gut. He raised his fist for another blow but a rock nailed him directly in the face and he flew backward, not expecting the attack and was caught completely off guard.
Morgan gasped for air and stumbled back to his feet, his coordination basically shot from oxygen deprivation and all the damage taken.
Robin had been the one to throw the rock and both her and Lilo took their positions by his side. Morgan looked to his left and right. "You guys need to stay out of this. This is my fight and he's been holding back." he croaked.
Lilo scoffed. "He's been kicking your ass, hell no! We're a team, Morgan."
"Which means we're not going to stand by and watch you get hurt." Robin finished.
"So quit holding back yourself and let's kick his ass!" Lilo stated.
Morgan narrowed his eyes. They shifted to scarlet. He powered up with a low and deep roar, the familiar yellow flames bursting out of his hands and hair as he entered Berserker Mode, doubling his strength and speed.
All three of them rushed Kiokami with a roar and a bellow.
Lilo POV
The three of them together had actually put Fukurou on the back foot. With Morgan in Berserker Mode, the wolf Faunus could barely react to all of their movements.
Lilo would trip Fukurou up with a well timed blast of wind, Robin would shake the ground beneath his foot to upset his footing, followed by Morgan delivering a massive hit on Fukurou, knocking him flying.
The large wolf Faunus was persistent, though, and did not give up. He did manage to get a few retaliatory strikes on both Robin and Lilo but Morgan was able to block or dodge the ones meant for him.
"Scorched Earth!" Morgan roared.
Robin slammed a foot down on the ground, launching a large boulder out of the courtyard. Morgan lit it aflame and Robin punched the boulder, sending it toward Fukurou.
Fukurou growled and front rolled out of the way. He punched the air at Robin, the concussive blasts traveling very quickly. However, Morgan moved in and blocked all of the blasts with his sword, which he had picked up shortly after going Berserk.
"Warm Front!" he roared.
Lilo used his Semblance to boost his speed considerably and ran literal circles around Fukurou, causing a miniature tornado, like what he had done to the Ursa in that forest about five months ago.
The Wolf had been picked up by the speed of the twister and was now unable to move.
Morgan blasted a large plume of flames at the base of it, causing the whole miniature "storm" to burst into flames, causing damage over time due to the heat. Lilo ran faster and faster, fanning Morgan's flames and helping to cause even more damage.
Morgan cut power to his blast of flames and Lilo stopped running, the tornado dissipating. The duelist leapt into the air, above Fukurou, and slammed his hands down toward the ground, sending a massive wave of air toward the larger fighter. Fukurou was slammed into the ground from the sheer force of the blast.
"Erosion!" the tiger Faunus roared.
Robin slammed her feet into the ground, raising four pillars of rock around Fukurou. She clapped her hands together, forcing the pillars to slam into the wolf Faunus just as he'd gotten to his feet. The pillars immobilized him. He struggled to get free as Lilo landed softly on the ground and thrust his hands forward, unleashing a massive torrent of air that cracked the rocks and sent the fragments into Fukurou, causing even more damage.
Lilo and Robin were panting from the exertion after they had finished their team attacks. Fukurou had been knocked onto his back by Erosion and was still.
"Whoo! We did it! We won!" Lilo cheered, letting his guard down.
Morgan growled. "Don't celebrate just yet. He ain't out just yet."
The Tiger was proven correct when the Wolf stirred and struggled to his feet. He howled with rage. His ice blue eyes adopted a lighter shade and his hair glowed a soft yellow. "Don't think you've won yet! I'm not even close to being beaten!" he bellowed.
Lilo couldn't sense Aura but he could tell that Fukurou had gained a considerable power boost from this new form.
Fukurou launched himself at the group and they were immediately put on the backfoot. Where they were dominating before, it was all they could do to avoid being smashed into the ground by Fukurou's sheer might.
"This guy's a fucking monster! Have you ever actually beaten him, Morgan?!" Lilo demanded as he barely dodged a shotgun blast to the gut.
Morgan growled with effort. "No! Though, the last time I fought him, I was twelve, almost thirteen!" he roared as he threw a fireball at the wolf Faunus.
The large fighter blocked the fireball easily and a flying kick from Robin. "And you'll never beat me, Morgan! Though, I must say, you've done more damage to me than I thought you'd ever do! You've grown a lot stronger in four years. But you still have a long way to go before you can ever match me in combat!" he howled.
Robin had removed herself from the engagement and was taking potshots at Fukurou with her pistols. Shots that were doing… absolutely nothing, as none of them managed to connect as the wolf Faunus just kept blocking or dodging every single one of their strikes.
"Knockback TImes Three!" Morgan called out.
All three of them backflipped out of the engagement and quickly charged a good portion of their remaining Aura into a powerful combined pulse that they fired at Fukurou just before he reached them, sending him flying into a column.
Morgan used the time gained to quickly power up into Serenity Mode, red eyes shifting to blue, yellow flames to white plasma and his expression changing to one of blank stoicism. The three of them readied themselves again.
Robin POV
They were still on the backfoot but the engagement was far closer than it had been. All three of them had been disarmed for a while and hadn't had a chance to regain their weapons so they had to make due with hand to hand.
Morgan and Robin were fine with this, each being trained in martial arts quite extensively but Lilo was struggling to keep up. His punches and kicks were weak and his form was very, very sloppy. Robin made a mental note to at least give Lilo a crash course in basic hand to hand sequences when this fight was over, just in case.
Morgan was doing much better than either Robin or Lilo, though. While in Serenity Mode, he had the ability to fight without having to think about his actions, instead being able to intuit the best way to attack or defend.
Robin was able to sense that Fukurou's stamina was draining. Slowly, but still draining. If the three of them could hold up under the Wolf's onslaught, they might be able to outlast him.
Morgan and Fukurou had engaged in a flurry of punches and kicks, with Robin and Lilo attempting to chip in with essentially bug bites at this point. Morgan's expression remained blank as he blocked and dodged as many strikes as he could, with Fukurou becoming angrier and angrier as he couldn't break the Tiger's stonewall defense.
Fukurou howled, a drawn out and furious sound, as he pressed the offensive, launching punch after punch, kick after kick and blow after blow and the group of three.
Morgan answered the howl with another roar, deep and rumbling. His movements were little more than a blur as he blocked and dodged, focusing entirely on defense and not even trying for offense.
"What the fuck is this power?! How are you doing this?!" Fukurou demanded.
Morgan blocked a particularly hefty blow with his forearm, the impact causing a thunderclap of sound and a shockwave. "My fiery anger refined into electrical control. My rage filled Berserker state calmed into a peaceful Serenity. My Serenity Mode will bring your defeat, Kiokami Fukurou. You cannot defeat me as long as I am in this form." he explained, his tone much quieter and calmer than usual.
Fukurou had definitely begun to tire at this point as the fight picked up in tempo. The change was still gradual but the three teammates did definitely regain the edge in power, even if it was only slight.
He panted as his strikes gradually lost power and speed. Morgan, Robin and Lilo were able to go on the offensive again as the wolf Faunus's stamina depleted itself.
Lilo swept Fukurou's legs out from under him, setting Robin up to kick the large Faunus into the air, prompting Morgan to leap into the air and punch Fukurou full force in the gut, sending him flying into the ground with enough force to leave a small crater.
Morgan landed softly as Fukurou was stirring and he dragged himself into a standing position, a wild and angry expression on his face. He powered up his Aura with yet another howl. His blue eyes shifted to gold and his hair glowed a bright gold as well.
The sudden power up caught Robin off guard as the power she felt, double Fukurou's previous, was tremendous and beyond anything Morgan had ever thought possible.
The wolf Faunus rushed forward faster than any of the three could react and knocked both Robin and Lilo out with a single strike each.
Donna POV
Donna was bored. She was also angry and frustrated at having to sit out of sparring because of a broken arm for three weeks. But it did at least give her a chance to catch up on some assignments she had neglected. Silver linings and all that.
She looked up at the time. "The fuck? They should have been back by now. Where are they?" she wondered. She tried calling them. No answers.
She shrugged. "Maybe they stayed late to get some extra practice in. Wish I could do that. Lucky assholes." she grumbled.
She went back to her assignments but was jolted out of her concentration when she got dual alerts on her scroll that notified her that both Robin and Lilo's Auras had been broken. At the same time. She stood shocked, wondering what was going on when she felt Morgan's Aura spike massively and heard a faint roar of pure rage.
"What in the absolute fuck?!" Donna exclaimed.
Morgan POV
Morgan stood in shock for a few moments at seeing both of his teammates, friends, knocked out cold like that, Auras broken and all.
His shock turned to rage when Kiokami kicked Robin's still form away from his vicinity.
"Tch. Annoying little pests." the larger Faunus huffed.
Morgan felt his power rising and his eyes shifting rapidly from blue to red to back again and the electricity gathered around his hands and hair let out small plumes of flame.
He powered up with a rageful roar loud enough to shake windows, his Aura gleaming white as he took the energy from the damage he'd taken to significantly multiply his strength and speed. He roared again as he barely managed to maintain his control.
Morgan launched himself at Kiokami with a roar, aiming a flurry of punches and kicks at his chest and head. The tiger Faunus was done holding back. "You're gonna regret doin' that, Kiokami! 'Cause now I'm mad! I'm really, really mad! And I'm gonna make you PAY!"
With the energy Morgan had absorbed, the two were seemingly evenly matched. But that didn't last long. Kiokami was still fatiguing and losing stamina quickly, while Morgan had just reenergized himself with the absorbed energy.
"You can do what you want to me!" Morgan roared as he punched the wolf Faunus in the chest. "Beat me, break me!" He kneed him in the gut this time. "But if you ever hurt my friends again!" Roundhouse kick to the ribs. "Ever hurt her again!" Headbutt to the face. "I will make sure it's your last day on Remnant!" He delivered a devastating axe kick to Kiokami's spine, sending him into the ground in a crater.
The Wolf staggered to his feet quickly and rushed the Tiger. Morgan quickly turned the engagement to his favor, though. Morgan launched punch after punch, kick after kick and blow after blow, landing a good majority while effortlessly dodging Kiokami's attempts at retaliating.
"Where the hell did this fucking come from?! How are you this strong?!" Kiokami demanded while trying desperately to keep up.
"Any damage you inflict on me I can absorb and use that to fight back! I am the Huntsman with the Tiger's Spirit! And I will never, ever back down!" Morgan roared while landing several kicks to Kiokami's chest and stomach in quick succession.
Morgan could still feel his eyes shift from red to blue rapidly and the electricity gathered at his hands and hair flickered to flames and back all throughout the engagement as well. Morgan grabbed Kiokami by the leg and swung him around in a circle. After several moments of spinning, he let go and the wolf Faunus was sent into a cluster of bushes.
The feline teen charged a blast of fiery lightning in his hands and thrust them forward, firing the blast at Kiokami.
The larger did manage to dodge the attack but barely. The two again rushed each other but something flew in between them and Morgan smacked face first into a solid wall of blue, knocking him back to base.
As he staggered back to his feet, he saw Kiokami had also been knocked back to his base form. He shifted his focus to the wall of blue. It was a domed shield. Inside it was… Aoi? But she didn't look so good.
The owl Faunus dropped the shield. "Please stop fighting! Please stop hurting each other!" she begged, tears streaming down her face.
Aoi Fukurou was nearly as tall as Morgan but considerably thinner, almost skeletal. She had pale skin, dark blue eyes and shoulder length electric blue hair. She wore a simple blue sundress and pale yellow sandals. Her expansive blue owl wings were spread out limply behind her and were missing feathers. Her face also looked far more gaunt and hollow than he remembered. She looked like she could barely stand.
"Aoi? What happened to you?" Morgan asked, horrified.
Kiokami walked over to his younger sister and hugged her, supporting her weight. "After you left, she fell into a deep depression. She hardly slept and barely ate. As you can see, she hasn't fared well. Can you please just come back to Atlas?" he asked, in tears as well.
Morgan sighed. "I… I can't. I don't belong there, Ki. I've found a home here in Vale and a new family in my team. I'll always consider you a brother to me but… I can't go back to Atlas, I'm sorry. At least, not to stay."
Kiokami looked up. "What do you mean, 'not to stay'?"
"I might be willing to visit. If you promise not to beat up on my friends ever again. I wasn't kidding when I said I'd make it your last day on Remnant if you ever hurt them." he said.
He heard Robin and Lilo stir and quickly rushed over to them. "You two okay?"
They nodded weakly. Morgan hugged them both close.
His ears swiveled forward as he heard someone clear their throat. "What the fuck is going on?! Who the fuck are these two?! Why do you three look like you had a whole ass epic boss fight without me?! What even is happening right now?!" Donna ranted, gesturing emphatically with her good arm.
Morgan chuckled tiredly. "It's a… long story, Donna. We should also probably tell Professor Goodwitch that we kinda messed up the courtyard."
Lilo POV
The five of them had spent the last hour being screamed at by Professor Goodwitch in her office about engaging in an all out brawl in the middle of the school courtyard. Donna had pointed out that she had not taken part, as her arm was still broken.
To shorten a very, very long rant, Morgan, Robin and Lilo were to be given a month's worth of detention for not notifying a professor, Donna was in no trouble at all as she had not taken part, however she and Lilo had to help pay for the damages, as they were the team's main financers, and Fukurou just got screamed at. A lot. Very loudly.
Aoi was in the cafeteria being treated to ice cream by Professor Peach for having to deal with such a stressful situation.
Back to Fukurou, though, there really wasn't anything Professor Goodwitch could do to him, as he was outside of her jurisdiction, being an Atlas Specialist and all.
"Wait. You're a Specialist now? When the hell did that happen?" Morgan exclaimed.
"Well, I graduated from Atlas Academy earlier this year, so that's when I officially got my rank. But I told you I wanted to be a Specialist years ago. Do you not remember?" he explained.
And that's when Professor Goodwitch started screaming again. Good Gods, the lungs on that woman… Lilo thought Donna could scream and rant for a while. Apparently, the blonde professor took the title.
After the screaming session from the professor, they had to endure a session from Donna. "You know, I was planning to use this month's allowance to get us some new training equipment. But between that chowderhead breaking my fucking arm and that chowderhead starting a WHOLE ASS EPIC BOSS FIGHT IN THE SCHOOL COURTYARD, I kinda don't want to do that when I get my next month's allowance! Lilo, Robin, you two I'm still cool with. BUT YOU TWO!" she shrieked.
At least it only took around twenty minutes for her to peter out.
Morgan POV
*The next morning*
Morgan and Kiokami were sitting on top of the first year dorms in the early hours of the morning, before the sun had risen.
"So… when did Birdbrain get her Semblance?" Morgan asked after a while.
Kiokami laughed. "A couple of weeks ago. I had been pulling an all nighter, training, and got myself in a fight with a Death Stalker. Of course, as tired as I was, I didn't stand a chance. Aoi heard me yell, flew in and put up a bubble between me and the thing. We had to run of course, but it was still a really good moment." he said quietly.
Morgan felt his eyes sting. He checked them with a finger. He was crying? He only did that when he thought about his mom and dad…
He felt Kiokami's hand on his shoulder. "I know this isn't easy for you, man. There's nothing wrong with feeling your feelings. You know I'm not gonna judge."
He started to cry for real. Kiokami pulled him into a hug. "It's okay. You're okay. I'm here. Just let it all out. Let it out." he said.
They stayed like that for a few hours, Morgan crying and venting and Kiokami just listening. Morgan had been bottling up his grief for his parents for four years and it felt… good to finally get it out into the air. He felt… better. For the first time in years, Morgan felt good. Happy.
AN: My writing mojo is back! At least for now, lol. But, anywho, I have been waiting to write this fight for years! Definitely more of a serious chapter, with a lot of angst and a fast paced fight scene. What do you guys think of this chapter? What do you guys think of Kiokami as well? He's personally one of my favorite OC's. I know there are a lot of OC's running around right now but I need to get through this year at Beacon before I can get to more canon characters. I'm not sure what the next chapter will be but hopefully I can have it posted within a month, depending on circumstances.
Alright, review and let me know what you think of the chapter! Until the next one!
