Prologue
The heat was excruciating despite being in the first winter week of December as the contractions have gotten worse. My name is Tori Vega, and this is my story. I was the second born with only one sister, and things happened that I ran away from home. When I arrived in Seattle I met a 14-year-old boy, and with me at age 13 despite loving him we had a one night stand, and I ended up getting pregnant that he literally ditched me that I had to fend for myself for the next nine months till I began to go into labor after being spotted, and taken to the hospital.
"I see the head." The doctor said as she encourages me to push. One final push and my head collapsed on the pillow breathing heavily then I heard my newborn baby began to cry.
"It's a girl." She said after my daughter was cleaned up, and wrapped in a pink blanket placing her in my arms. As I look at her she had my brunette hair, and my brown eyes as she stopped crying that she looked at me recognizing me as her mother. I feel in my heart that I needed my daughter, and she needed me her mommy. After thinking I decided that it's time for the both of us to go home. I picked up the only phone in the room and began to dial the only phone number I remember.
"Hello? Who is this?" I hear my mom as I breathe slowly.
"Mom?" I said to her.
"Tori? Sweetie is that you?" She said as I look at my daughter sleeping in my arm.
"I'm ready to go home."
