Kate was walking through a field as a few omega wolves played and laughed around her all the while having an conversation with herself about the situation with Stinky and Claudette.
She still couldn't believe how much Stinky and Claudette are at each other's throats she started to recall years before that Stinky and Claudette were friends they sang happy birthday to each other and they trained and exercised together sure they had a little rivalry here and there but it was still friendly.
Now they are screaming at each other and fighting and calling each other names which for Kate it was quite heartbreaking to witness she never did like seeing members of her tribe fight physically or verbally,Alpha or omega male or female all the same it was a very uncomfortable sight for Kate.
Kate then sat on the grass beneath a tree and crossed her arms pouting and she remained that way for a good 3 minutes until Garth showed up. he came over because he noticed Kate's sour face and decided to talk to her.
"Kate is something wrong?"Garth asked in concern Kate looked at him like he was the biggest idiot on the planet.
"You know there's something wrong Garth for 2 things, 1: Claudette and Stinky are fighting and not just like an Argument but also physical,i know that sometimes siblings fight me and lilly went at it a few times in the past but we always made up shortly afterwards,but with Claudette and Stinky there's no sign of it stopping the looks they give each other constantly it always looked like they really wanted to kill each other and I'm afraid that's really gonna happen."Kate said glumly as she stared at the ground.
Garth shook his head "no it won't Kate." Kate then gave him a sharp look "How would you know can you look into the future?"She snapped angrily making Garth flinch Kate looked away completely distraught as she needlessly yelled at her brother in law.
"I'm sorry Garth i didn't mean to snap at you I'm just greatly upset I'm beginning to think my family is starting to come apart."Kate said apologetically looking down at the ground with a sad expression Garth looked at his sister in law with sympathy as he hated to see her so upset this way,so he decided to help her.
"Well tell me Kate how did this severe rivalry begin do you know?"Garth asked curiously Kate paused for a second and began to recall what Hunter told her.
("things got more sour when Stinky and Claudette started arguing, about how Stinky keeps trying to prove his bravery by taking unnecessary risks,and Stinky almost called Claudette the B word.")
"Well it all started when they and a few other pups took a little trip to the Dark Forest which brings me to problem number 2: What Link and Lyle said is still fresh in my mind..." Garth interrupted her as she was going off topic a little "We'll deal with that later Kate family comes first always,Now what exactly happened in that trip word for word?"
Kate didn't exactly know everything Hunter just gave her the shortened version and knew of a way to get the full complete version "Excuse me a second."Kate said getting up and walking off to get stinky and Claudette.
Several Minutes Later
Stinky Claudette were sitting in front of Kate and Garth,Claudette and Stinky both glared at each other in disgust "Mom why am i here next to him?" Claudette asked in annoyance "we are all here to end this little war you two have going on ,It's has to stop now and forever."Garth said calmly.
"You two have been barking and fighting each other lately and the fight recently was the last straw which reminds me why wasn't i alerted?"Kate asked Garth after just now realizing no one told her stinky and Claudette were fighting Garth only shrugged.
Kate shook her head decided to shelf that complaint for now "Hunter told me a short version of what happened but we need the full version of what happened the version you two can provide."
"Start at the beginning how did this start?"Garth asked and Claudette immediately spoke "It started when Stinky had this brilliant idea to go to the most creepy Forest in the world."
Garth looked at Stinky curious "Why exactly?" "Dad said it was fun a little boring but fun still i wanted to see for myself Claudette and Hunter didn't object to going."
Claudette snorted "Someone had to rescue you in case you were kidnapped or hurt." stinky rolled his eyes at that "To my understanding You got Runt Amber and Flynn to go with you?" "i thought they would like to go again giving they said it was fun." "Yeah 3 omegas freaking out and wanting to leave was how they expressed fun." Claudette said sarcastically.
"You were freaking out too."Stinky pointed out "That's because the forest was creepy stupid."Claudette snapped causing stinky to growl at her.
"Hey hey knock it off guys let's keep this friendly."Garth said sternly causing Stinky and Claudette to immediately stop arguing "Now let's fast forward what happened?"Garth asked "we went deeper into the forest which got more and more creepier then we got to the black cave which is were everything went to pot."Claudette said firmly.
"What happened?"Garth asked "Claudette flipped her lid over nothing." Stinky said rolling his eyes "it was not over nothing he tried to go into the black cave."Claudette argued "there was nothing in there Claudette!"Stinky argued
"How the heck would you know?!"Claudette snapped "i just know ok?!"Stinky said getting into Claudette's face a little now it was Kate's turn to speak "That's not a valid answer stinky how would you know there was nothing in there?"
Stinky began stammering a little "because dad said so mom he said he didn't see anything."
"He probably wasn't looking directly into the cave."Garth pointed out then Kate crossed her arms as she stared into stinky with a blank expression as she started thinking of a little test.
"Ok let's say for the sake of argument that what if the Shade was in there that day and you would encountered him what exactly would you do?"
Stinky scoffed "I would've sent it running for the hills." "How stinky certainly not with weapons because the last time i checked no weapon in the world can harm Shade,so how would you have sent him running for the hills stinky?"
Stinky began to think about that hard Then he started to go over a few what if scenarios in his head he began to ask himself to provide a solid answer to the question what if he did encounter the Shade realistically what exactly would he do?
Although yes he could try to fight back but it wouldn't do him any good because of not only the fact that nothing in the world can harm him no Sword,Tomahawk,Arrow,Dagger,and even a Fist.
But also several key factors play a role for starters: He was 10 years old,He was still in alpha school,he was small and he didn't have any weapons with him that day anyway so he would be completely defenseless against the?shade regardless if he had a weapon with him or not and he would've gotten himself and others around him killed.
Stink just sat there in silence telling kate he didn't have an answer for her no answer at all and that made Kate shook her head in disbelief and Garth spoke again "Ok so walk me through the rest of it so Stinky was trying to go into the cave what happened?"
"I tried to stop him i tried to tell him that we should've just left and went home ,but he was being stubborn talking about how I shouldn't let omegas creep me out and alphas were supposed to be brave."
"What else?" Garth asked curiously.
"Well i decided to call him out on his need to to jump into danger all the time to show off then he almost called me the b word."Claudette said glaring at Stinky who looked away pouting Garth looked at Stinky in surprise as he never thought stinky would call anyone let alone his own sister the b word.
"Why would you call her that Stinky?"Garth asked Stinky snorted "Because she was being one and she called me a brainless butthead."
Kate stared at Stink with a look of disappointment and slight anger "How was she stinky,was she for protecting you,was she for making sure you didn't get hurt,kidnapped or Fenrir forbid killed?"
Stinky hung his head after that as Kate kept going "Are you seriously going to chew out your sister for caring about your own safety?, Because if that's the case then you are a brainless butthead."
Stinky remained silent and his eyes remained focused on the ground as he began to absorb everything Kate and Garth was telling him and it was then he began to realize the one fact his overstuffed arrogance blocked him from: He really is a butthead.
He realized that Runt and Claudette was trying to prevent him from possibly making a mistake that could've cost him,Claudette,Runt,Hunter,Flynn and Amber their lives,which is not something a tribe leader would or should do:lead his tribe members to their deaths.
He finally saw the error of his way he finally saw that he wasn't acting like the future tribe leader everyone knows he can be.
Stinky looked at his uncle and mother then his sister with a complete humble expression then what happened next too everyone by surprise Stinky pulled Claudette into a hug.
"I'm sorry Claudette for everything,I'm sorry for dragging you,Hunter Runt,Flynn and Amber,and I'm sorry for picking fights with you I'm sorry for all those mean things a called you especially behind your back."Stinky said in a soft tone with some tears streaming down his face.
Claudette gave him the side eye as he said he said some nasty things behind her back but decided to just forget about it Claudette returned the embrace rubbing stinky's back "I'm sorry to stink,I'm sorry for calling you an brainless butthead(Even though you are one)and I'm sorry for sitting on your head."Claudette said Calmly
Kate looked at the two siblings with a satisfied expression as the pulled apart "Now do we agree that the fighting is over you two are siblings that care and love each other?" Stinky and Claudette
nodded making Kate smile "wonderful you're both dismissed stinky and Claudette got up and were about to leave together until Kate stopped stinky "Woah woah stinky where are you going?"Kate asked "too...hang out...with my friends?"Stinky said in a confused manner.
"Not for a few months sweetheart,You're grounded for taking the Tribe to the dark Forest after a forbidden travel there,March your behind straight back home."Kate said pointing to the direction of the den.
Stinky was about to protest but decided to just do what was instructed to him and headed back to the den.
Garth looked at Kate with a triumphant expression "Well I'd say our work is done." but Kate knew that wasn't true as they had another problem to focus on "not quite yet Garth there's still one more issue we need to take care off but first i need to speak to Runt."Kate said standing up and walking off to find runt.
