After about 10 minutes of running they arrived to a large crowd surrounding a tree they pushed passed them and saw Flynn and Amber tied trees with the black ropes The 6 pups all stared at them but couldn't say anything as their muzzles were tied with the same black rope.
"Oh my Fenrir guys!"Claws exclaimed looking at the pups in disbelief kneeled down and pulled out her dagger and tried to cut through the rope but couldn't "What the what's up with this rope?"Claws asked in confusion and frustration.
"We tried to cut it the same way but we couldn't either whatever that rope is it's tough."A grey furred female wolf said. Kate and Nathaniel were actually Studying the Rope and immediately took notice of its jet black and misty appearance and knew no normal rope looks like that.
Their thoughts were soon interrupted as the 6 pups started to yell and started to squirm everyone looked at them with confusion then they noticed the expressions on their faces complete and utter Fear.
Kate also noticed they were looking behind them so she turned around to see what got them spooked at what she saw made her heart stop cold.
There standing just about a few yards away was the Shade he was just glaring at them with his cold glowing silver eyes "Guys..."Kate called completely scared getting everyone's attention they all looked behind them and everyone nearly screamed in unison "Woah What?!"Garth exclaimed in surprise everyone drew out their weapons while The Shade didn't react at all.
"It's real it's freaking real!"A wolf exclaimed in fear "What do we do?"another asked "Stay your positions we do not leave the pup's sides no matter what."Nathaniel said trying to act fearless but in reality he was super terrified.
Kate looked at the Shade then at the weapon in her hand then everyone else's then she began thinking if the legend is true their weapons won't do squat to it so Kate began thinking that their had to be another way in Defeating The Shade and rescuing their pups and she knew just who to ask.
"Nathaniel I'll be right back."Kate said darting off to the opposite direction much to the confusion of everyone "Wait Kate where are you...?!"Nathaniel exclaimed still keeping his eyes on the shadowy beast.
What seemed like forever Neither Shade or the wolves made one move towards each other that is until Claws had enough "Listen up whatever you have till the count of 3 to release these pups or face my wrath!"Claws roared gripping the handle if her dagger tightly The Shade didn't do anything.
"1."Claws began counting the Shade stood still "2."Claws hissed angrily the Shade still didn't do anything "3!"Claws barked charging towards the shade with the intent to do it harm she raised her dagger upwards and brought it down to stab the Shade but the shade easily caught her arm claws looked at him in disbelief then the Shade tossed her into the air making her yelp as she hit a tree branch on the way down and hit the ground with a hard thud.
Everyone else looked at the Shade in nervousness Nathaniel gulped then looked back at everyone and at Flynn and Amber who looked at him with complete fear. Then Nathaniel frowned and looked back at the creature before him he was not about to let this thing frighten him away from his goal in bring the pups home.
Then with a war cry he charged straight at the Shade but was immediately batted away by a black tendril that sprouted from The shade's back Nathaniel landed on the ground with a hard thud.
The other wolves looked at the Shade rather nervously as he turned his arms into blunt weapons then charged at them "Attack!!!"A wolf yelled and the Wolves all charged at the Shade when they were within inches of each other that's when everything went down the toilet.
Very easily The Shade despatched them one by one tossing one wolf into another batting a small bunch of them into a tree knocking them out then grabbed 2 more Wolves high into the air with his tendrils and smashed them into each other and threw them aside like Garbage.
Now all that was left was Garth,Hutch,Princess and Scar who all look at the Shade nervously "We're next."Garth gulped in fear The Shade narrowed his eyes and wasted no time Charging at them with lightning speed.
Meanwhile
Kate was running as fast as she could to the end of the Dark Forest and to the Tribe she met before when she entered the Tribe Territory she struggled to remember where the tribe leader den was. before she finally found it. Max was asleep next to Lois and Daria and Kate kneeled down and shook him away "Max wake up!"Kate cried immediately causing Max Lois and Daria to yelp and look at Kate confused and Some what upset.
"Kate what gives i was having pleasant dreams?!"Max said completely upset his sleep was disturbed "Sorry i need your help you were right the Shade is real I'm sorry i didn't take you as seriously before i need your help the Shade took 6 pups from my tribe who are in the Dark Forest Right now fighting The Shade to get them back." Kate explained.
Max stared at Kate like she was insane "Your tribe is fighting the Shade are you crazy the Shade can not be defeated."Max exclaimed kate refused to except that "No don't say that he must. have a weakness everyone's has a weakness."kate cried.
Max hung his head in disappointment and shame
"I'm sorry Kate all i can offer you in terms of help is Pray to Fenrir for help." Kate looked at him then at lois and Daria who looked away in shame. Kate immediately got up and walked away contemplating on what to do.
She actually did considered praying to Fenrir a for help until she decided to solve this another way before getting Fenrir involved.
Kate began thinking of ways to defeat the Shade then she asked herself how do you defeat a living Shadow and came up with the conclusion with light then she asked herself how would she use light as a weapon to defeat the Shade but came up with nothing.
Kate sighed and then stopped and paused and began thinking of another way to defeat the Shade then she came onto the realization that maybe the shade couldn't be defeated by brute strength but with reasoning so Kate immediately dashed towards and into the Dark Forest.
Meanwhile
The Shade stood triumphant over the last 4 Alphas who barely put up a fight Nathaniel groaned in pain as he began to stand up looking at the Shade who then turned to him. "That all you got monster I've defeated Wolves tougher than you."Nathaniel growled this made the shade stretch out his arm and grab Nathaniel by the throat and pull him closer to him.
Nathaniel gagged as he just hung there limp staring into the Shade's eyes the pups looked on in fear as to what could happen next "Do your worst." Nathaniel said defiantly the Shade then turned his free into a big fist and cocked it back about to pummel Nathaniel the pups looked away until a voice rang through the air.
"Stop!" everyone look to see Kate standing just a few yards away bravely garth and the rest of the alphas groan stirring awake and saw kate "Kate what are you doing?"Garth ground "It's too strong."A female wolf said "Get out of here go for help."A male wolf said.
Kate knew that if she brought more back up the shade would no doubt tear through them with no trouble she had a different way. "I am Kate Leader of the United Tribe,We don't have to fight anymore we can talk like rational people just please let my Wolves go and just tell me what you want."
The Shade stared directly at Kate then gently sat Nathaniel down on his two feet and let go of him much to the confusion of everyone then he reached down burying his hand into his shadow and pulling it out along with several strands of shadow. "What in Fenrir's name are y..."Nathaniel was cut short as his eyes went pitch black as the Shade now has control over him.
"Kate...so nice to meet you I'd like to file a complaint i have against your tribe."the shade said "Ok."Kate said "I'll put it in a way you'll understand Wolves from your tribe have been intruding into my territory and i don't like that."
Kate nodded hanging her head a little "I apologize greatly for that my tribe can be a bit hardheaded sometimes especially within the family." Kate said looking over at Stinky,Runt and Claudette who looked at her offended.
"Yes I can tell that to be true."The shade said snidely glancing at the pups who still had offended looks on their faces. "I will tell my tribe to never come into the Dark Forest i promise I will make them listen this time."Kate said sincerely making The Shade shook his head then spoke.
"You promise...just like Fenrir promised to keep wolves from entering my forest but he backed out on that."He said with sheer annoyance this took Kate and pretty much everyone besides Flynn and Amber by surprise. "Did he say Fenrir?"Garth asked "He knows fenrir?"asked another wolf.
"I mean it Shade i will you can trust me."Kate insisted Shade didn't say anything for a full minute before narrowing his eyes "Alright,I'll trust you will stop your tribe from coming here." "lovely now please release the pups."Kate said gesturing to the pups
"But before i do just a little warning Kate if i find just one wolf from your tribe wandering around my forest i start taking wolves and never giving them back starting with these same pups are we clear?" Kate nodded although a bit nervously.
Then with the wave of his hand the bonds on the pups went away the pups were freed they went to their respective parents who hugged them tightly.
"Now leave the Dark Forest and never return."Then then Shade dashed away further deeper into the forest as Nathaniel's eyes returned to normal and he began looking around for the shade "where'd it go?"He asked.
No one cared where he went they just wanted to leave the Dark Forest "Lets get out of here."Kate said and everyone began to pick themselves up and helped the injured and then they proceeded to exist the Dark Forest and never looked back.
The Next Day Midnight
Humphrey and Kate were cuddling underneath the stars after the long day they had after the wounded were treated for injuries Flynn and Amber told them everything The Shade said about his origin including his Sister Aurora and his battle with Fenrir,Kate told the whole tribe everything that's been happen the last few days including what happened to Link and Lyle and The Tribe outside the Dark Forest.
Kate had forbidden everyone to go to the Dark Forest ever again as for the pups they were a little traumatized but they are said to make a full recovery.
Humphrey was still mind blown after the things he learned today "Man to think the shade is some primordial entity that took on Fenrir and won is just. crazy."Humphrey said with a light chuckle "Yeah our universe is a crazy place." kate said looking at the stars before Humphrey asked her one final question.
"Kate do you think we'll ever meet Aurora?"Humphrey asked curiously as he wondered what Aurora is like Kate just continued staring at the night sky as a shooting star streaked by before answering "If we ever do meet Aurora i just hope she's more pleasant than her brother..."
