Hey guys! Cost265 here and welcome to my first fanfiction story. I'm a huge league of legends fan and one of my favourite champions of all time is Vi. She is just so much fun to play! Although I don't trust myself when it comes to my writing, I believe I did my best in order to write to the best of my abilities (keep in mind, English ain't my first language).

I hope you all enjoy reading this story as much as I enjoyed writing it! Reviews are always welcome! :)

Chapter 1: Piltover's Finest

"Get out of the way!" Shouted Caitlyn frustrated, trying to manoeuvre her cruiser in the traffic, barely missing the civilian cars next to her.

"This is the Sheriff's Unit 1! Responding to a 10-31! On our way to the crime scene! Requesting immediate backup!" She shouted on the radio. She was driving like a maniac, but at the same time, people had to make way for her cruiser as the red-and-blue lights projected from the top of it and the siren screamed bloody murder.

"Roger that Unit 1, backup is on the way." Responded the woman on the radio.

Caitlyn and her partner Vi were on their way to stop a bank robbery. In the region of Piltover, a bank robbery was somewhat of a biweekly matter. Either by their ach-nemesis Jinx, or by some excited fool who got his/her hands on a brand new hextech weapon.

Pitlover was a region that thrived in terms of technological advances. Mechanical engineering was rather the most common, yet most well-paying job. Unfortunately, there were a lot of people who instead of using those skills and that knowledge to provide the world with technology that would make it a better place, they allowed their greed to get the better of them and ended up designing and engineering weapons instead. Thankfully, the citizens and criminals of Piltover were not the only ones who had access to said weapons.

"So, ready to wreak some havoc, cupcake?" Asked Vi with an excited smile, as she was preparing her hextech gauntlets which she designed herself. Vi was vastly different from the rest of the police force. Her idea of serving justice was to punch the malevolence out of the criminals using said gauntlets to their full extent. But despite her reckless and trigger-happy personality, she always took into consideration the safety of the only person she actually cared about, her partner Caitlyn. She did not have feelings for the woman, it's just that Caitlyn helped Vi out of a situation when no one else would, alas gaining her respect.

"Vi, please try to at least constraint yourself from hurting anyone other than the criminals. Do you know how much paperwork I had to complete the last time you got excited?...Out of the way!" Replied Caitlyn, while trying not to crash the cruiser at the same time.

"Ok, first of all, that was an accident! Second of all, you should know my ideology by now." The pink-haired girl replied, before lighting up a cigarette. Caitlyn could feel a headache building up.

"What ideology? Also, I've told you a hundred times not to smoke in the cruiser. You know I just can't deal with the smell." Scolded the Sheriff, trying not to lose her cool. After so many years of getting into fights and getting hurt again and again, Vi picked up a smoking habit which Caitlyn absolutely detested.

"My ideology is how much harder do I have to punch until the problem sorts itself out? And chill, I've opened the window anyway." Replied the woman widely known as the Piltover Enforcer. Caitlyn, not wanting to get into another argument in regard to her partner's bad habit, decided to stop pursuing the matter, seeing as to how they had nearly reached their destination.

As soon as the big SUV-style cruiser parked outside of the bank that was under attack, the two women stomped out and ran towards the officer and cop car nearest to the bank. About six to seven cop cars had formed a half-circle a few meters away from the entrance of the bank.

"Sheriff Caitlyn, Deputy Vi, glad you're here." Said the stressed-out cop.

"Do we have any updates on what's going on inside or who is in there?" asked the Sheriff, trying to also get a visual understanding of the situation.

"Yes, ma'am. Apparently, there are also a few civilians in there, making this bank robbery also a hostage situation." Replied the cop, not taking his eyes off the bank. While Caitlyn was trying to think of a way to sort this situation out, Vi was getting impatient. She wanted so badly to run in there and start punching the life out of every single one of these cowards. Shortly after, a hostage was sighted exiting the bank, a young woman tied up with her hands behind her back and a note on her chest. Caitlyn and the cop retrieved the woman, who was clearly in shock and hyperventilating, sat her down and tried to stabilize her. The young Sheriff picked up the note which wrote "switch to channel 3! Now!". Caitlyn did so and ordered a few police officers to do the same. She pressed the button on the left side of her radio and spoke:

"This is Sheriff Caitlyn of the Piltover Police Department. Please respond, over!" She shouted on the radio.

"Sheriff, we have about twelve hostages in here. We want 10mil Golden Hexes within the hour or else heads will start rolling!" Said the criminal before turning off his radio. Caitlyn bit her bottom lip trying to think of what to do.

"Too much money, not enough time. What do you think Vi?" She asked but received no response.

"Vi?" She asked again, also not receiving an answer. The Sheriff turned around, but she couldn't see her hot-headed partner anywhere. That is when she started to get worried. She immediately grabbed her radio and started asking for her, but before she even got an answer, she heard gunshots firing inside the bank. Both civilians and cops around the area instinctively ducked, and then stone and wood crashing caused some of them to run away.

"You idiot!" She shouted, thinking that her partner would hear her. A few minutes later everything went quiet, and then the bank's doors opened, with Vi exiting the building and holding someone unconscious.

"All clear everyone! The bad guys are down and out!" She shouted from the entrance with a wide smile on her face. As soon as the cops relaxed, all the hostages exited the building, practically running for their lives. The entire police force, including Caitlyn, ran towards Vi, most of them entering to make sure every single one of the bad guys were down. Vi handed the one she was holding to one of the cops and, as soon as she did, Caitlyn slaps her across the face.

"Ouch! What was that for!?" She asked, rubbing her cheek which had turned red from the force of the slap.

"Don't ever do that again Vi, or I swear I'm going to be the one who is going to put you down!" Shouted Caitlyn in her outraged, British accent. "Do you have any idea how much you made me worry?!" She screamed, then proceeded to hug her partner.

"You're right, I'm sorry." Replied the Enforcer, touched by the kind gesture and wholeheartedly accepted the embrace. "C'mon, let's go for a drink. I'm paying."

The two women proceeded to clock out as soon as they got back to the police station. They did so in a hurry as well, really looking forward to that drink. They got on Vi's motorbike and headed towards their usual hangout, a cosy, little bar down the road from the police station. A couple of hours passed and both women were drunk beyond repair. They were laughing and having a good time. Remembering all the stupid times that Vi got in trouble with the Piltover City Council just because she got a bit more excited than she should've.

"I swear, Cait, sometimes even I am surprised as to how easily I lose my temper. And then I ask myself why I can't get any straight info out of those bad guys. Cause ninety percent of the time all I hear is "no, stop punching me, ouch my face"" Laughed Vi mockingly, causing Caitlyn to remember all the times she watched the bad guys her partner punched the life out of get patched up. After they managed to catch their breath from laughing, Caitlyn looked at Vi and thought about what happened at the bank.

"Vi, please promise me that you won't do what you did today again, alright? You have no idea how worried I was as soon as I realised that you went in there by yourself." Stated the drunk Sheriff. It was at that moment that Vi realised how selfish it was of her to barge in there alone. What would happen to Caitlyn, who is nearly in tears at the moment, if something were to happen to her.

"You are absolutely right Cait, I'm sorry. I promise it won't happen again." She replied, wiping the tear out of her partner's cheek. Shortly after, Vi paid the hefty bill as a form of apology for making Caitlyn worry that day, and then, they proceeded to call a cab for both of them. The cab arrived outside of Caitlyn's house first and as soon as it stopped Caitlyn opened the door.

"See you tomorrow, cupcake!" Shouted Vi right before the cab leaves. Caitlyn turned around and waved at her partner as she watched the cab drive away into the darkness of the night.

She walked into her apartment but as soon as she closed her door, she dropped her keys on the floor and in her drunken state, she really did not feel like trying to pick them up. She placed her bag on the kitchen counter and headed to bed. It was already quite late, and she had to go to work tomorrow. She set her alarm and immediately fell asleep the moment her head touched the pillow.
