"Tonight is the night we finally have a perfect sleepover!" Webby exclaimed as she walked in the long hallways of the Manor, followed by the Saberwing sisters, Lena and Violet.
"That's what you said last time when Magic invaded our dreams," Lena replied with a grimace. Thinking of her 'aunt' always brought back bad memories, but it was pretty funny to see her so desperate for her magic back.
"As well as the time we accidentally brought Lena back from the Shadow Realm," Violet added.
"Not to mention that night with the money shark-
"Tonight is the night, okay?!" Webby shouted as she turned around to face the two girls, a determined look on her face.
"...okay, then." Lena and Violet said in unison, both of them silently deciding not to push the matter. Even if they were certain that something would go wrong like it always did.
"Oh I know what we should do first-" Webby cut herself off as the three girls reached her bedroom door, only to find it covered in 'caution, do not enter' tape. Mrs. Beakley stood next to the door, besides a pile of boxes. "Granny? What's going on?"
"I'm afraid that a certain pair of ducks," Beakley turned to glare at Donald and Della, who Webby and the others hadn't even noticed, hiding behind the corner. "Opened an old chest that Mr. McDuck had found on an adventure, right into your room, so I'm afraid we have to close off the area for right now."
"Ooh, was the chest filled with the cursed souls of the dead?" Webby squealed excitedly, rocking on the balls of her feet.
"Or it could be an endangered magical creature that needs to be handled with care," Violet suggested.
"Or maybe, I dunno, something normal for once?" Lena asked with an eye roll. Beakley hid a smile; she sometimes missed
"For once, you're right, Lena. The twins accidentally unleashed a swarm of termites, so we'll have to fumigate the room. I tried to get out as many of your belongings as possible, Webby, so you should be all set for your sleepover tonight," Beakley said apologetically, though she did wink at Lena. It was nice to give the teenager one normal(ish) evening every once in a while. "Unfortunately, you three will need to sleep in another room tonight."
"Aww." Webby and Violet sighed in unison, while Lena pumped her fist in the air in excitement, though she quickly lowered it and smiled sheepishly when her friends glared at her.
Beakley hated to disappoint her granddaughter, but it couldn't be helped. The Duck twins had been helping move boxes out of the garage (non-magical boxes) to set up an actual room for Launchpad. The pilot had gotten very sick thanks to an adventure and Scrooge felt bad.
Okay, he didn't want Launchpad to have to pay LP while he took sick leave so he wanted to help the guy heal as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, Donald had a series of unfortunate events thanks to his bad luck, and Della's teasing caused them to start shoving each other as they argued. They stopped walking when they were by Webby's room, and her door was unfortunately open, so when Della accidentally dropped the box, it opened and the bugs rushed out straight into the young duckling's room.
"Sorry, girls," Donald apologized sheepishly, poking his head out from around the corner.
"It was his fault!" Della shouted, "accidentally" pushing her brother down as she looked at the three girls, noticeably avoiding Beakley's harsh gaze.
"It was not!" Donald scrambled to stand up, shoving Della., who only shoved back.
"It was both of your faults, and you two will be the ones to tell your uncle that he has to spend money on an exterminator," Beakley stated firmly.
"Aw phooey," the twins said in unison. Beakley rolled her eyes as she placed the boxes down.
"Let me know if you need help moving the boxes," Beakley said while she walked towards the staircase with Donald and Della in tow.
"I was looking forward to a perfectly normal night in my room," Webby huffed and crossed her arms dejectedly.
"Oh no! It's not like you live in a mansion with hundreds of rooms!" Lena replied sarcastically.
Even if Scrooge was a little stingy when it came to money, the mansion was very large and had a multitude of rooms. There were at least 15 guest rooms for various family members, friends, and allies to the McDuck family, so there were plenty of options.
Sure, the kids weren't supposed to snoop around too much but he had a bit of a soft spot for Webby so Lena figured they'd be able to find a good enough room to pass the night in.
"Perhaps we could sleep in the TV room," Violet interjected. Sure, it wasn't as exciting as a possible magic adventure that was sure to happen in Webby's room, but Violet liked television as much as any other kid as long as they had a good documentary playing.
"Oh yeah! We can have a movie marathon and do each other's hair, talk about boys, practice magic-"
"I'm game for anything except that last part." Lena cut Webby off.
"Fine! No magic...tonight," Webby compromised. As much as she loved dabbling in it, she knew how Lena felt about magic. And the last thing she wanted to do was make her friend uncomfortable.
"Thanks, Pink," Lena smiled gratefully.
The girls made their way down the stairs, discussing what movies they were gonna watch and what snacks they wanted.
But then they hit a bit of a roadblock.
Noise could be heard coming from the TV room. Like the sound of children laughing. Or to be more specific, like the sound of boys laughing.
"It looks as though the boys have taken over the TV room," Violet affirmed after peeking into the room. Luckily, the boys, who were surrounded by junk food and soda (sugar-free fruit juice for Huey), didn't seem to notice.
"They always get it though," Webby groaned. She liked her boyfriend and brother-like figures but they could be kinda annoying sometimes. "Guess we'll have to use one of the gift rooms."
"Hang on, I've got an idea," Lena smirked with an evil glint in her eyes. Webby and Violet grinned; whenever Lena got that look in her eye, they knew that whatever happened next would be a lotta fun. For them, at least.
"I wonder how the girls' slumber party is going." Dewey wondered as they watched a rerun episode of Ottoman Empire, shoving a fistful of popcorn into his mouth.
"I dunno, but we aren't gonna try and spy on them again." Louie drawled as he opened up another can of Pep!
Huey nodded in agreement but Dewey just looked at him in confusion.
"Why not?"
"I'm sorry, have you forgotten what happened the last time we walked into your girlfriend's room during their last sleepover?" Huey asked incredulously.
The boys all stopped what they were doing as they experienced a flashback to the last time they walked into Webby's room, during a past sleepover. They snuck in as quietly as they could, hoping the girls wouldn't hear them.
But they were nowhere to be found.
Or so they thought, until the girls all jumped out at them, startling them so badly they ran all the way down the hall before realizing it had just been their girlfriends scaring them.
They were no longer welcome in Webby's room on sleepover nights without permission, punishable by magically-induced nightmares courtesy of Lena.
Back in the present, the three boys shuddered.
"Oh yeah…Team Magic is scary sometimes," Dewey admitted. Louie didn't say anything but silently agreed. The girls were amazing, but terrifying when crossed.
"We have no one to blame but ourselves. It was our own fault for invoking their wrath. Just consider ourselves lucky that they haven't tried to get revenge," Huey replied as he skimmed through a chapter of his Junior Woodchuck Guidebook.
'I wouldn't be so sure about that,' Lena thought mischievously as she materialized from the shadows, right in front of the TV, startling the triplets. "Boo!"
"Ahh!" Dewey screamed, jumping up and knocking over the popcorn bowl as he tried to get away.
"Please spare us!" Huey begged as he got down on his knees and covered his head.
Louie had noticed who it was instantly, but that didn't change the fact that he'd leaped up onto the couch, consequently spilling his soda onto the couch. He groaned, grabbing paper towels as he tried to clean up the mess.
"Why do you always do that?!" Louie glared at his girlfriend, who just chuckled at the green-clad duck.
"Because it's hilarious and works every time," Lena smirked. Webby and Violet ran into the room, high-fiving the older girl.
"You should've seen the looks on your faces!" Webby laughed, clutching her stomach.
"Well now they can, thanks to my phone recording the entire thing," Violet said in amusement, much to her boyfriend's displeasure.
"You too, Vi?!" Huey exclaimed.
"Sorry, Hubert. I couldn't resist this bonding experience with my best friends," Violet apologized, though it didn't sound like much of an apology in his opinion.
"You guys are mean. What'd we do to deserve this?" Dewey cried dramatically. Webby rolled her eyes before she bent down to start picking up the spilled popcorn. Lena snapped her fingers to magically clean up the soda before it could stain the couch.
"Took over the TV room when we were gonna use it for our sleepover." Lena deadpanned. "Plus it was time for some payback for 'invoking our wrath' as Huey put it."
"I thought you three usually stayed in Webby's room. What changed?" Huey asked, purposely ignoring Lena's little quip.
"Granny has to fumigate my room because your mom and Uncle Donald released termites into it," Webby explained as she sat down on the couch, ignoring Dewey's protest as she sat in his spot. Violet did the same, walking over the various snacks that covered the floor.
"Of course they did." Louie rolled his eyes. He loved Donald and his mom, but their arguments tended to have inconvenient consequences. "Fine. We were just about to leave anyway."
"No we weren't-" Dewey began to speak, only for Huey to cover his mouth with a shake of his head.
"Yes, we were," Huey stated firmly with a side glance to his sibling. He knew better than to try and argue with the three girls. Dewey, however, hadn't quite learned that yet.
Dewey 'hmph'd and scowled at his older brother.
"Well, you were here first. Maybe we should find another room." Lena said, surprising them all. Louie stared at her for a moment, trying to figure out what her angle was. The small, nearly unnoticeable smirk, made him gulp. His girlfriend could be an even bigger schemer than he sometimes.
"Really?" Webby asked skeptically. She couldn't remember the last time Lena backed down from something she wanted, especially if the boys had it.
"Yeah. But since they're using this room though, guess they aren't using theirs. And there is that nice bunk-bed we could use." Lena smiled slyly.
"Hold on a second-" Huey tried to interject, only to be cut off by his girlfriend.
"Sounds like a reasonable compromise to me," Violet stated, subtly moving closer to the door, as did Lena.
"Let's go then," Webby smirked before she started to run, following close behind Lena and Violet.
"Hey! No fair, you guys got a head start!" Dewey whined as he and his brothers began to chase after the girls.
None of the boys thought to clean up the mess left behind in the TV room, which would lead to a lecture from Mrs. Beakley later on about responsibility and consideration. But that was a problem for future Huey, Dewey, and Louie. Right now, they had a race to win.
The six ducks ran through the hallways, ignoring the confused looks they received from various family members/staff.
Eventually, Lena got tired of running, so she grabbed Violet and Webby's hands and jumped through the shadow of a nearby lamp.
Louie cursed under his breath when he saw the three girls disappear, but continued to run alongside Huey and Dewey until they finally made it to their room. The boys opened the door and flopped onto the ground, groaning when they saw Lena, Violet, and Webby in the center of their room.
"That...is so not...fair," Dewey gasped as he tried to catch his breath. Huey just shook his head in agreement, not having enough oxygen to speak.
"It's not but neither is she," Louie replied as he finally stood up, leaning against the wall for support.
"Aw, don't be like that, Greenie. I was only using my strengths as an advantage. Aren't you proud of me?" Lena smiled innocently, as if she hadn't just outwitted her cunning boyfriend.
"...just because you cleverly used your shadow magic to your advantage and your last-minute scheme to steal our room was executed perfectly doesn't mean I'm gonna let you take over my room," Louie stated with a glare, though it lacked any genuine hostility.
He was lowkey proud of Lena for coming up with something like that on the spot, but that didn't mean he was going to admit it. At least, not out loud.
"Aw. But it's the perfect spot for a sleepover for the six of us." Webby whined.
Dewey gulped when she gave him those puppy-dog eyes that always made him weak in the knees. But he was determined to actually stand his ground this time.
"It's still our room- wait, did you say six?"
"Yep. Since you guys are being generous enough to let us stay in your room, it's only fair that we let you join the sleepover," Webby hid a sly grin, hoping her "compromise" would actually work so she got to spend time with almost all of her favorite people.
"Thank you- wait, why do I feel like we're being manipulated?" Dewey asked, narrowing his eyes at the girls.
"Because we are." Huey deadpanned. Upon seeing Violet's soft smile, he sighed fondly and decided to just go with it. "However, if it makes you girls happy, then I guess we can go along with it."
"Yay! The perfect sleepover can finally commence!" Webby squealed as she hugged Dewey, who still looked slightly confused but was happy nevertheless.
"Let's get this party started, nerds," Lena said as she snapped her fingers, making bowls of popcorn and chips appear. Scrooge might complain about magic being a shortcut, and Lena may not love using it, but there were definitely some perks.
They had a blast, to say the least.
They played video games with the boys' new console (one of many birthday gifts from their mom, trying to make up for lost time), watched movies on Louie's laptop, played board games and cards (mostly Uno, since Louie was banned from most card games because he always wanted to place money on it), and just talked about any subject they could think of.
Eventually, though, they did get tired, around 3 or 4 a.m. Since it was a sleepover, Donald and Beakley had waved their usual bedtime, but even the Duck Boys and Team Magic couldn't stay awake forever.
At least, not without some magical help. But Webby had already promised no dabbling with magic, so a magically-induced anti-sleep sleepover would have to wait for another time. AN: Leave a review if you'd like me to write a story about said sleepover.
So the group needed to get some sleep.
"My brothers and I can sleep on the floor so you guys can sleep on our beds," Huey offered, though the looks on their faces said that Dewey and Louie weren't so keen on the idea.
"While I appreciate the offer, Hubert, I have a better idea, that won't lead to any back pain for you three," Violet replied.
And that is how Violet ended up sharing the top bunk with Huey, with Webby and Dewey in the middle bunk, and Louie and Lena curled up together on the bottom bunk. And the bedroom door stayed open, of course, to be respectful.
"I had an enjoyable time tonight," Violet spoke softly, though she needn't have worried about being overheard; everyone else was talking to their respective girlfriends and boyfriends so nobody was gonna overhear them.
"So did I. It was a lotta fun," Huey whispered back.
"Well, we should go to sleep soon if we want to be well-rested come morning," Violet yawned slightly as she snuggled closer to the eldest triplet.
"Yeah...hey, Vi?" Huey asked hesitantly. There'd been something on his mind during the past few hours, but he hadn't wanted to ask about it in front of his brothers.
"Yes, Hubert?"
"Did you really record us getting scared by Lena earlier?" Huey frowned when Violet nodded her head, looking up at him sleepily. "You won't show anyone else, will you?"
"Not if it makes you uncomfortable," Violet smiled reassuringly. She knew Huey had self-esteem issues, and any evidence of him acting less than perfect seemed to bother him, even if Violet thought he was acting cute. But she'd never show anyone anything that he didn't want her to. "It'll just be for our little group."
"Thanks," Huey sighed in relief. It was like Violet could read his mind sometimes. Although...she did dabble in magic a lot- no, Huey would not go down that road. She couldn't read minds. Right?
"Of course," Violet kissed his forehead before snuggling up against his chest. He sighed happily.
Meanwhile, on the middle bunk, Webby and Dewey had just finished talking about their favorite parts of the night before pulling up the blankets and cuddling closer.
"This was fun," Dewey said quietly, smiling down at Webby.
"It really was. Thanks for letting us stay here," Webby replied, beaming up at the blue-clad duck.
"Please, you would've taken over the room even if we didn't want you to," Dewey teased playfully. Webby smiled sheepishly, unable to deny it.
"True. But I'm happy nonetheless. We should do sleepovers like this more often," Webby hoped that if they did sleepovers with the six of them, then maybe bad things wouldn't happen. Then again, it was the six of them when Magica invaded their dreams...well, there goes that theory.
"As much as I'd like that, you should get to spend time with your friends by yourself. Makes nights like this more special," Dewey liked spending time with Webby one-on-one but he had to admit, hanging out with his brothers and their friends was always a lot of fun.
He'd only had his brothers for ten years, so having so many friends to spend nights with always filled his heart up with joy. Especially since Webby was there.
"Aw! You're so sweet," Webby cooed before kissing Dewey's cheek.
"Anything for you," Dewey flushed slightly with a dazed look on his face. Webby chuckled. Her boyfriend was adorable.
On the lowest bunk, Louie was still pretending to be mad about Lena's trick from earlier, even while he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
"Can't believe you took over our room," Louie tsked playfully.
"Don't act like you weren't impressed with my little scheme," Lena smirked, and damn if that smirk wasn't one of Louie's favorite things about her.
"Fine...it was pretty clever," Louie had to admit after a few moments of silence.
"Learned from the best," Lena replied, knowing that an ego boost was the best way to get Louie to forget about her scheme. Even if it was funny to see him act upset about her conning him.
"Thanks," Louie smiled warmly. Then, after a pause, he narrowed his eyes at her. "You mean me, right?"
"No, I mean my other clever boyfriend who can see all the angles," Lena deadpanned while rolling her eyes.
"Bet he doesn't look as good in green as I do," Louie smirked. Lena sighed fondly at him before giving him a quick peck on the beak.
"No, he does not."
"Goodnight, everyone," Webby called out to the group, interrupting any and all conversations that might've still been happening.
"Night guys," Dewey answered first, of course.
"Goodnight," Lena yawned.
"See you guys in the morning," Louie drawled.
"Sweet dreams," Huey whispered.
"Pleasant slumber," Violet replied.
They all fell asleep, one by one, with blissful smiles on their faces. Webby had been right; it really was the perfect sleepover.
AN: Requested by BarnMaker. I have seen the requests made by the following people and intend to write them at some point in the future (kokomo, AmazingMan, and I wanted to do KoalaTakingNotes but can't seem to find that person's review.) I don't know a lot about Narnia and it seems like it'd be more of a story than a one-shot or else I'd have decided to do the Narnia AU that was suggested.
Also, I'm sorry for not updating in quite some time. Life kinda snuck up behind me and took all of my attention for a while, not to mention my creative dry spell. Hopefully, I get to post again soon(ish).
