Chapter 46

(Normal POV)

Kathy opened her eyes and glanced at the window and saw Optimus and he looked madder than hell right now.

:::::::::::::….. Give her back to me; I am trying to make things right between us I made a mistake I would like to make amends for what I did to her…:::::::::::::::

Silence crossed over the commlinks then.

:::::::::… You're too late…..:::::::::

Optimus snarled his optics turned red for a brief time until he realized the truth; Barricade was right he had truly lost her.

:::::::::…. Take care of her, please…..::::::::: Optimus sent over the commlink as he transformed and pulled away confusing Barricade.

Barricade thought Optimus would fight more for her; but he just backed off and left. Barricade cursed as he realized his plan worked too well; and that he might have ruined the human's chance with Optimus now.

"Slag it," he snapped as Kathy watched Optimus drive away; her heart breaking as silent tears ran down her face.

She came back for her friends but seeing Optimus just made her so sad; she had cared so much for him.

(Kathy's POV)

He drove away taking my heart with him; though maybe its better this way with the future not looking all that good for me. He needed someone who would be alive with him to share his life with not someone who would be dying after she brought back their home.

"Are you leaking once more?" Barricade asked me interrupting my thoughts.

"Sorry," I said in barely a whisper as I continued to watch the Western Star disappear.

Silence erupted inside of Barricade's vehicle form then.

"Maybe its better this way," I finally said as Barricade's holoform glanced at me.

"Why the frag would you say that?" Barricade demanded.

"Because did you forget after I bring back Cybertron I won't be here anymore; it's just as well then." I said as I opened his door and just started to walk.

My life seemed so stupid and miserable right now; I just wanted some shred of happiness in it but that was laughable because I was dying from the Allspark the very thing needed to save the beings we cared about.

Life could be so damn cruel sometimes…..
