Chapter 3: Tour of the Museum

After a nice long drive through the states, the Succeed Program made their way through the streets of New York City.

Soon they made their way to a parking lot garage. They pulled the cars up to two parking spaces.

Logan was the first to get out of Nick's car as he stretched his aching bones from sleeping as his friends each followed him out of the cars.

They grabbed their bags as well as their belongings and went to a Hampton Inn hotel they were going to be staying at.

They all walked into the hotel and went to the manager.

"Good afternoon. You all are here for the rooms you will be staying in?" He asked with a smile.

"Yes, sir." Nick replied as the manager handed him four cards.

"Alright, guys." Liz turned her attention to Logan and his team as she said. "Let's get going up to our rooms."

With that, the Succeed Program went to the top of the hotel. They each got their own bedrooms to have: Logan and Dylan shared a bedroom with a window view showing the Empire State Building. Betty and Ashleigh had a bedroom with a view of the waterfront. Finally, Nick and Liz had a bedroom with a window view showing Madison Square Garden.

While placing his bags on his bed as Dylan did the same with his own bed, Logan sat on the bed with a sigh. He was glad that they made it to New York and was ready to go to the Museum of Natural History.

But at the same time, he couldn't help but wonder what he saw in that horrible nightmare he had with that strange human sized dinosaur mutant. The way he looked at him in his dream, it was very terrifying and scary.

That's when Dylan came to him. "Hey, Logan."

"Huh?" Logan turned his head to see Dylan, who had an excited smile on his face.

"Ready to get going? Don't want to be left in line." Dylan said, excitedly.

Soon Logan lost his thoughts and smiled back and stood up.

"Yeah, I'm ready. Let's go out to the hallway and meet up with the others." Logan said as he and Dylan went outside to wait with the others.

A little while later, the group of six met up with each other and walked out of the hotel and down the busy street of New York.

When they arrived at their destination, they smiled at the big museum in the state as the sun rays shined behind the roof of the building.

"Alright, guys." Liz said, excited as the others were. "Are you ready to enjoy a little tour of the museum?"

"Yes!" The four students choursed.

"Okay, so let's go inside." Nick said as he and Liz led the group inside the building.

In the building, there were people inside walking about with their kids holding already bought toys and games from gift shops in the museum. Some were also leaving as well.

"Well, at least now we won't get too much attention." Dylan said as they went to the desk to get some tickets to go in.

They arrived as a beautiful female woman, in her early twenties, typing on her computer when she noticed them. She wore a blue uniform for her coloring and black pants. Black hair was covering her head with a ponytail style and she had turquoise eyes.

"Good afternoon, everyone." She greeted them with a smile. "My name is Maggie Banes and what can I do for you today?"

"We'd like to have six tickets please for our group." Nick said with a smile of his own as Logan joined his side along with his friends.

"Good, that'll be 100 dollars please." Maggie said as Nick handed her the cash.

Then she handed the group their six tickets as they each took one of them.

Logan placed his ticket in his pocket as he didn't noticed that Maggie was looking at him with a cute smile.

"He's actually kinda cute." She thought.

Nick and Liz then led the others down the hallway.

Once they came to the four exhibit doorways, Liz spoke to the group. "Okay, here's what we're gonna do guys. I'll be taking Ashleigh and Betty to the animal exhibit while Nick leads Logan and Dylan to the Dinosaur exhibit. Sounds good?"

"Yes." The four students answered back with a smile.

"Alright guys. Let's get going." Nick said as he and the boys went to the dinosaur exhibit as the three girls went to the animal exhibit.

(Scene changes)

When they got in, they walked through and around the dinosaur exhibits with awe and amazed looks before they continued on.

As Logan walked through the skeleton displays, he came across the dinosaur he always had a favorite when he was little: the Allosaurus, the Lion of the Jurassic.

He looked at the meat eater's skeleton with admiration. He still liked watching Walking with Dinosaurs and Walking with Prehistoric Beasts when he was still a kid.

Nick came over to him as he looked at the dinosaur skeleton. He then said to Logan. "You still like the Allosaurus?"

"Yup." Logan answered back. "Still my favorite when I was a kid."

Then Logan thought of something as he looked at the description saying that this dinosaur sometimes worked in a group as if this was a leader.

Something else came into his mind as he turned to Nick. "Hey Nick. You remember saying that seeing a real live dinosaur would be the coolest thing ever? Do you still think it would be amazing?"

Nick thought about it and said. "Well, it could be something. But I just said that to make your mind go blown. You remember your class time with Tony, right?"

"Yeah, sometimes we would believe they could make a comeback. But they're dead now." Logan replied back before they continued on with Dylan.

(Scene changes)

Soon they were at a gift shop and bought a few things. Dylan had some dinosaur books and posters while Logan had a stuffed allosaurus and some digging kits with him.

They continued on to the next exhibit as they looked at the sea monster skeletons as well as some of the herbivore skulls and skeletons. There were even skeletons of pterosaurs

"So guys, which sea monster and winged reptile is your favorite?" Nick asked his two students.

Dylan studied them for a bit before he saw the skull of a Dunkleosteus as well as a pteranodon.

"Well, mine is the Dunkleosteus and the Pteranodon. What about you, Logan?" Dylan asked turning to his friend as he was admiring the skeleton of a mosasaurus and quetzalcoatlus.

"Well, the Mosasaurus and Quetzalcoatlus are my favorites." Logan answered back as they carried on through the exhibit.

Then we switched the screen to the girls as they were in the animal exhibit. Ashleigh and Betty were looking at the african elephant display while Liz was looking at a display of peacocks.

Later they looked at some displays of wolves and hyenas.

Liz then said to them. "So which african animal is your favorite, girls?"

Betty eyed a zebra display as she said. "Mine is the Zebra. What about you, Ashleigh?"

Ashleigh admired the wolf display as she smiled. "Well, I guess the wolves are mine."

Suddenly, Liz's phone began to vibrate as she took it out and looked at a text display on her screen.

"Woop, got a message from Nick. He says that he, Logan, and Dylan are heading this way." Liz informed the girls.

A short while later, the guys eventually found the girls at the elephant display.

"Hey guys." Ashleigh greeted the boys.

"Hi." Dylan greeted back.

Liz then asked them. "So how did the dinosaur exhibit go?"

"Great, we got to see the carnivores and herbivores. As well as the sea monsters and some other prehistoric animals." Logan answered back.

"What about you guys?" Nick asked, wanting to know how the girls enjoyed the animal displays.

"Pretty good, we got to check out the birds, lizards and other animals." Betty replied back with a smile.

Liz looked at the elephant display as she said. "Come on, guys, let's get a couple of shots in front of the elephants.

And so, one by one, Liz and Nick took some pictures of their students in front of the display as they smiled at the cameras.

"Alright, how about we get something to eat and head back for the hotel for next day's museum tour?" Nick suggested as their stomachs growled a bit.

"Yes please!" The four students choursed with smiles.

"Okay. Come on guys. Let's go get us some pizza slices." Liz said as they made their way to find an exit.

Suddenly, as they were finding an exit, Logan didn't pay any attention as he was behind the group and bumped into someone.

"Oh!" Logan exclaimed as he landed on his rump.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" A girl's voice was heard.

Logan turned to see that it was Maggie Banes standing in front of him as she offered him a hand to help him up.

"Oh, that's okay." Logan replied as he accepted her hand and she helped him up. "Thanks."

"You're welcome." Maggie replied back with a cute smile she sent to him.

They stared at each other for a minute before he saw his group stopped for a moment to find an exit.

"Oh, uh. I do have to keep going now. See you later." Logan asked with a nervous smile.

"Okay." Maggie replied back, sweetly.

Logan then walked ahead of her to catch up with the group.

He eventually caught up with the group. Then Ashleigh nudged him a bit.

"You sure know how to catch a girl's eye there, stud." Ashleigh said with a smirk.

This made Logan blush a bit as he stared at her in surprise.

"What are you talking about?" Logan stuttered.

"Come on, I saw that." Ashleigh said with a teasing smile.

Logan looked at her with a deadpan face.

"Very funny." Logan said sarcastically.

Soon they found their exit and went out of the museum.

(Scene changes)

After getting some lunch, it was getting close to the evening and they made their way back to the Hampton Inn.

On one of their beds, Logan was watching an episode of Walking with Dinosaurs called: Time of the Titans.

While he was watching, Dylan came in and sat on his own bed.

"So what did you think of the Museum?" He asked Logan who turned his attention to him.

"It was pretty great, I still liked the Allosaurus Skeleton too." Logan replied back with a smile as he continued to watch Walking with Dinosaurs.

"Well, Liz told us that we'll be going back to the museum tomorrow again." Dylan said to him as he looked at the menu for dinner.

"I'm up for it too." Logan said, still watching an allosaurus attacking a young diplodocus.

(Scene changes)

At the Museum of Natural History, it was now night time as a security guard was reading a book from one of the desks.

While he kept on reading, he heard a strange clanging sound from the left side.

"Huh?" He frowned as he got up and walked forward to it.

He past through a corner of the hallway and looked around as he was trying to find the sound he heard.

"Who's there?" He demanded. "Come out with your hands in the air!"

As he was checking his surroundings, he didn't notice a long reptilian tail slither into the shadows.

Then a growl was heard as he froze in place. Suddenly, ember eyes opened in the darkest corner of the hallway and they narrowed at him.

The growling continued as the security guard slowly turned his head to the corner as he whimpered in fright.

We change the screen to the outside of the Museum as the guard screams in horror and a thunderous roar is heard in the Museum.
